The ladies serving food were rude for no reason. I ordered fried pork chops and didn t exactly eat them they were not bad but I went to ask for a to go box and got the worst attitude in return from 2 lady s just loud mouth and embarrassing since it was so packed. Ruined the appetite of the friends I was with. Lastly the old lady at the register was eating her fries (bowl on top of my plate) over my food!! How disgusting is that. Ewwww I m so disappointed.

Good food at good prices but the service is meh. The place is grimey and dingy. Needs a good scrubbing and paint and perhaps tablecloths and new chairs. The floor needs attention as well. Soon as I walked in, I felt like I was getting watched as I ate my food. I am an African-American male and I Attended with my family. I don t know if I m overstepping, but I felt that my color was the reason I got this type of behavior. It was just the environment, The food is great! But the people there treated me as I didn t deserve, Like trying to argue over a to-go for the food I played for, so I will not be returning to griffs and I would Advise anyone my color too.

Solid place for country, soul food. The menu has many options to choose from. I had the Large Chicken Fried Steak. It lived up to its name. The steak was hearty, good, and filling. The mashed potatoes were decent but the brown gravy was just a bit too strong. If you completely mixed the two it was fine, but not if you get a bit of mashed taters and get a dab of gravy. Too strong. The white gravy was on POINT! The Mac & cheese, the bread roll, and the sweet tea were all good. All this for $13. The food was cooked quick (5-7 min) and served piping hot. There s a good selection of condiments, hot sauces, and drinks. The vibe is small town, country vibe; a place to go to after a hard day at work or to eat some soul food. Overall a hearty meal. Would recommend. Parking: Gas station type parking plus an extra open lot for parking ideal for work trailers plus space for one 18-wheeler. It is wheelchair accessible with 2 handicapped parking spots right by the front door

I love Griffs food , and have been going here for a good while now . But their customer service so is unacceptable !!! There is an older lady who is always at the front register, she usually has a very terrible attitude and always speaks very rudely towards customers. She makes griffs feel very unwelcoming . Went in to get breakfast this morning and she acted as she didn t want to check me out . I told her good morning and nothing was said back . They need to get someone else on the register, that is actually going to greet the customers with a better attitude . If you don t like your job , please find another :) !

This was previously a 5 stars review and i will leave that review in for reference. I have supported and visited this place since I was a kid. But no more. The amount of burnt food and incorrect orders has reached its limit. For a few months now the food has gone downhill. 2/10/24 they hit a new low with mixing orders together. Sides for both orders are in one box and burnt chicken fried strips are in another. If these went to the same house that would be fine. Thanks griffs for proving me wrong. Your service is lazy and horrible and your food has gotten steadily worse over the last 6 months. This place has been around for a while. I dont know about the rest of the menu but the chicken fried steak is good. It is still handmade.

We had catfish specials. Still the best weve had in Waco! Not overcooked. Clean grease. Excellent sides. Great prices. A great place for a great quick lunch. Lots of entrees on the special menu. Lots of sides. If you dont mind ordering at the counter, picking up your own plate and utensils, getting your own drink, bussing your own table, and paying on the way out, it is certainly worth all that to get a great meal.

Perfect place to consume everything from sandwiches to prepared fish dishes, it should be noted that it has dishes as a specialty of the house or for a special day of the week, drinks with refills, a very quiet and classic place, I will return again and again as I please. possible. The fried catfish here on Friday is phenomenal. It is inside a country store, so the esthetics are not 5 star, but once you start eating, you probably wont notice the dining room too much. The all you can eat starts at 5 pm, so if you require a giant portion, dont go before 5. My husband and I got the 8 piece and the 5 piece (@4 pm), and we brought a lot home. If you enjoy great fried catfish, you have to try Griffs

I was very disappointed with my lunch today. Ive had breakfast from here, once, had a breakfast sandwich which was good. Today me and husband decided to try lunch. I had chicken fried chicken, he had chicken tenders. We both had macaroni and mash potatoes. The mash potatoes are instant mash potatoes and the macaroni and cheese is Stouffers and they were both cold. The only thing that was fresh and warm was our chicken. Then our mash potatoes were laid inside the container with this yellow wrapping paper stuff they use laid on top. Then our food was laid on top of the yellow paper so when we opened our box the potatoes were not visible because they were under a paper so we both thought we didnt get any. I took my food off the paper and thats when I saw the potatoes. My husbands paper was all soggy and tore and broke off in the potatoes cause of the moisture from the heat that ripped the paper. Was very disappointing.

Very busy, cafeteria style tables. We had dinner with people we didnt know and it was pretty cool. My friend have all you can eat catfish and he said it was awesome. I had hamburger steak a little well done for my taste but the gravy and potatoes made up for it. Would go back again. Service was quick for as busy as they were. Good meal and pleasant experience.
