I love everything about this place! So glad I found it while on my visit. I love the music they play, it s instrumental. It s relaxing, it gets you in the chill mood, it s perfect when you are reading/working but you can also just sing along in your head. I ordered an Iced Matcha with Vanilla syrup and you can taste the quality of the matcha. It was so so good! They also have some adult drink aka alcoholic drinks! So you can work/study while sipping on your relaxing wine, or purely just have your glass of wine in a chill moment not always having loud music. Staff was nice and friendly, plenty of seating, parking were ample, across Hotel 1928. The bathroom was clean! I m so glad I went to this place, this would be my go-to spot when I visit Waco again.

Very unwelcoming employees. As a college student, I planned to study for 6 hours at lighthouse coffee. I was told to buy something or leave in the harshest tone by an employee Sunday 11/27. Just because I dont purchase a coffee within the first hour of being at lighthouse coffee, does not mean I wont buy one 3 hours into my studying as mid-study energizer. All because I hadnt bought something I was treated very unkindly. If Im expected to purchase something, an employee should say Excuse me maam, its policy that our customers buy something to use our space BEFORE telling me to buy something or leave. Lighthouse coffee has lost my business. That was the most unwelcoming experience Ive had. I bought something AND left because of how unwelcomed I felt.

The actual dining area is very cute and looks clean. The coffee was okay, tasted a little watered down. I will say the bathroom was filthy and not from someone having just used it, you can tell its ongoing buildup. The state of the bathroom concerns me about how clean it actually is behind the bar. Had an absolutely wonderful experience at this coffee shop in Waco yesterday. The barista was incredibly friendly and kind, and not in a forced customer service type of way. Just genuinely happy to help and in a wonderful mood. The shop itself is very aesthetically laid out, with a great selection of coffees, teas, and wines. Its not an enormous menu, but it doesnt need to be. Everything we had was delicious and if youre a fan of tea you should try the white peony, it was wonderful iced! My favorite experience there, however, was stepping into the restroom to find a complimentary assortment of feminine products. Its small touches like that which truly elevate a business from customer friendly to customer oriented. Strongly recommend this coffee shop to anyone in the Waco area, whether just for the day or a long-term resident!

I purchased whole bean coffee, was not given a receipt, and realized a few days later I was overcharged on my credit card statement. It turns out I was charged more than the advertised price for one of the coffees and I was assessed a 4% credit card fee that I wasnt told about. I called to ask for a credit and was refused. Just another example of companies sticking inflation to the customer through deceptive practices which earns you a poor review, loss of a customer, and fraud report to my credit card co.

The staff truly know their work and are truly hardworking, they do their job very well - always quick to make you happy and comfortable, they work very hard at helping people, creating a nice atmosphere, and also working on their techniques and skills with cocktails, and coffee drinks. Never had a bad experience here - highly recommend for a quick visit or sit & stay . Other bad reviews people have made for Lighthouse is just purely due to misunderstanding and negative energy from the reviewer themself. Please try lighthouse out, promise you ll enjoy the experience and or make a friend! :)

It s truly incredible how a coffee shop will literally refuse to sell you a retail bag of coffee, during the hours that they are open according to their website and google. I came in at 9:50 PM for nothing other than a bag of beans, which I was willing to pay for via apple pay, and was turned away by an incredibly rude man who claimed they had been closed for several hours despite the front door being open and the lights being on. Despite asking multiple times, and even offering a generous tip as a show of appreciate for literally just letting me but a bag of coffee, the bearded man refused even more rudely this time. Again, all I wanted was to overpay for a bag of beans. Amazing that this place is even allowed to stay open.

Many of the 5 star comments/reviews above are made by management, staff, and close friends of staff in the last 24 hours after it was reviewed that they stole their so called house recipe from another local business, Loyalhood Syrups (who used to supply them if you ve been there in since they ve opened). This, as well as the mistreatment and horrible mismanagement of employees, is unacceptable. And while their coffee and building atmosphere is enjoyable, I refuse to support this business and encourage everyone else to do so. Pinewood, Dichotomy, Kurbside Coffee, and Common Grounds (as well as others) are all local coffee shop alternatives that you should support.

I am a former employee here and I can honestly say that I used to want everyone to try this coffee shop because of the product(olympia coffee roasters beans). due to employees who do not know the proper math and science that goes into creating a quality coffee product, their drinks are now awful. I would recommend going to any other coffee shop in waco before you try Lighthouse(that includes Starbucks Coffee). You can have good beans, but that isn t what makes coffee good. Getting a quality drink and quality experience would mean you need an educated and compassionate staff. i have not seen this here. nor do i expect to anytime soon. Not one single person who started working there still does. every staff member is new and continues to change. they do not know how to make these drinks nor do they even realize they are making their drinks incorrectly. you need to admit there s an issue if you plan to resolve it. This shop COULD be good. but potential doesn t equate to present quality. You should check out some other good local coffee shops like Pinewood, Common Grounds, Brû, Kurbside, Or Dichotomy. These businesses care about their product, environment, and their customers experience. Even though these local places are already amazing, they continue to grow and strive to learn more. support businesses that want to know how they can be doing better. not ones who steal products and recipes from other local startups. Because that s exactly what Lighthouse did. I think it is important to support local. but locals should support fellow locals. and this business has selfishly stolen so much already. keep that in mind the next time you re craving a cup of coffee.

Ownership does not care about people. Facebook post from a friend of mine: Waco folks: I will never give Lighthouse Coffee & Wine a dime again. You shouldn t either. They stole this idea and recipe from a dear friend of mine and his startup syrup company after he worked at Lighthouse for about a year and was let go due to COVID-19 financial struggles. I d encourage you to support local businesses who do not engage in sneaky dealings, backstabbing, and under-the-table exchanges. There s SO MUCH good coffee in Waco... go support Common Grounds or Pinewood who are also both local roasters. There s right and wrong in business practice, and in this situation, Lighthouse clearly chose to do the unethical, cheating thing instead of the right thing. Support your local Waco businesses who do things the right way.

Lighthouse has recently been revitalized and I must say that the place is phenomenal! When I first came to Waco, I was consistently recommended to try certain coffee shops that receive a lot of attention in the Waco area. Although I will say that some of them were good, a couple of them were completely overrated. Beware of which coffee shop you go too! I have witnessed terrible customer service and stomache-urching hygiene issues at certain places. All of this to say, I have not had a single issue with Lighthouse! They stock the the best coffee I could find in Waco, and the customer service is clearly held to a golden standard! Not only that, their orignal syrups that they use have blown me away! I highly recommend coming here for amaizng coffee, wine, and cocktail services!

Excellent environment. I love the quiet, open space, large windows, corner building. Its just the right amount of lights, quiet music, and space available to hangout, or get work done. Great service, and selection. Cocktails on point. Will be back soon.

Waited 20 minutes or so, and it appeared the barista completely forgot my order after holding a continued conversation with the patron that ordered before me. Very nice interior and location, but poor service based on my one visit.

The blonde guy with a beard that kind of looks like Thor makes the best cappuccino anywhere in town. So much care has gone into this place and I look forward to coming back.

Staff was too cool to have a conversation or give recommendations. Poor selection of food/snacks Coffee was great though. Worth giving it another go but so far other places around town after much better.
