I stopped in here today for the first time. When I arrived the doors were locked during business hours and the owner pulled up a few minutes later, just as I was about to leave. The hours seem a bit loose, but it is a small business so not an issue. The owner then let me in and I was immediately greeted by the pungent smell of animal urine in the building. Not great, but again, small business so I let it slide. I also noticed there was a younger guy sitting in a side office with his feet up on the desk, who was watching some magic the gathering box breaks on YouTube. The owner explained he was the son of his former manager. The kid didnt seem to be working or doing anything, so I wondered why he was there? He didnt answer the door when the owner was out, he was just hanging out? Whatever, again, let it slide. I then cordially struck up a conversation about his store and its history as I grew up in Victoria and never visited Tees when I was younger, and I was interested to learn about the place, thats when harmless small talk about musical instruments and the fine arts turned into an unabashed political rant wherein the owner said he was ok with nuking the city where I currently work (Austin) because of the liberals that live there. Wow. He then went on to explain he has many gay customers, but at least they dont flaunt it in his obvious grievance against pride. Ok. I was polite and kept trying to change the subject but the guy just wouldnt let it go. I was there to buy a guitar, not learn about his hateful beliefs. I eventually got out of there. Thankfully.

Great experiences I have always gotten guitar strings from him and he let me play guitar in there nice customer service and very helpful something was wrong with my guitar and he helped fix it.

Owner really likes to discuss his politics unprompted. This is south Texas, so his beliefs are kind of a given. Just extremely unprofessional. Anyway, scrolling through the first few reviews and I have a question for the other reviewers. Do you guys just ALL have no sense of smell? How has nobody mentioned the pungent odor of cat urine that fills the entire building? Are y all just being nice and ignoring it? What s the deal?

I had a repair done on my Gibson SG guitar. You know like the one played by Angus Young from AC/DC! The guitar tech did a fantastic job on the neck repair and guitar setup. It is a joy to play now and looks great too! Great work and highly recommended!

Not impressed. The older guy there (probably the owner) is abrupt and borderline rude. After three attempts at communicating and being cut off, unable to reach the period at the end of my sentences, i just gave up. Then I saw the $12.25 price tag on the set of guitar strings I wanted to purchase! Im accustomed to paying under $5.50 at Guitar Center. I get that this is a small independent store so i expect to pay more but $12.25? Is that a joke? When I pointed this out I got Ok. Ill give them to you for $10 if you pay cash. Its beyond me how this business has garnered this level of positive reviews.

Lots more inside than youd think. Kind of cluttered but very helpful staff. Was given a discount on listed price, nice surprise. Locally owned, Plus. Gives space to local radio station, Plus. Multiple dogs & cats inside which normally would not be an issue but the smell of urine was noticeable, not a plus.

As usual with music stores in Victoria, Texas-- still slightly over priced than shopping online.. Other than that the owner is very awesome, polite, and usually cuts you a deal regardless of being a regular customer or not.

I try to support momPop businesses. As a music enthusiast..my family has been supporting Tees since I played clarinet back in the late 80s..even further back when my uncle would get all his guitar/bass needs there. Now my 6th grader is playing clarinet & for now were renting thru Tees..if its goin to be permanent we will rent to own 1 from Tees as well. Very knowledgeable & kind gentlemen there.

This location is a grocery store called Aldis. Charming small different business model and loved by all who go there....including me. They have lots more than groceries. Will save that surprise for you.
