We ve driven past Uncle Mutt s Barbecue in Victoria hundreds of times and never thought to stop in. Recently, a friend recommended it to us, so we decided to give it a try and we are so glad we did! The staff was incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The food? Absolutely amazing. I had the barbecue chicken, which was perfectly moist not a bit dry and the mashed potatoes were to die for. My husband went for the brisket plate, and he was just delighted. The brisket was moist, flavorful, and not dried out a rarity when it comes to barbecue! The portions were generous, and the prices were competitive definitely good value for the quality. There s plenty of table seating, and they also have a drive-thru if you re in a hurry. Best of all, it s a family-owned and operated business, which makes supporting them feel even better. Today I was not able to go and eat at uncle Mutt s in person because my husband and I have Covid, we like to enjoy the Senior Citizen plates, when they have the dressing we have the turkey and dressing. Well today they would not add dressing because my daughter was told doesn t include senior plate, we buy it most of the time. Well my daughter bought the turkey plates no dressing. I feel really bad that we were treated this way and couldn t get a scoop of dressing. This has been a place we love to dine. But my husband and I will not go these again things are changing too much.

Did drive thru for lunch. Had a sausage and brisket plate with pinto beans and potato salad and a chicken and brisket plate with pinto beans and potato salad. Its been a while since Ive eaten there because the food has always just been average at best. Today was no different. Forgot they pour the BBQ sauce on the meat instead of sending in the side, thats my fault. The brisket was dry and had very little flavor. The chicken was pretty good and the sausage wasnt bad. The beans and potato salad were both good. For $40 Id expect a little better than average.

The first time I was there it was really good I bragged about it I would have given it five stars. the roasted chicken was very dry and the potatoes were well overdone. the food on steam table looked like it had been there forever. service was very slow and we were the only two standing there at the time. four or five workers milling about.

Their prices are not even in the same ballpark as what is advertized here. Man-Sized plate shows $12.99 here, when I went there it was on special for $21 and change! Seriously? Ordered the Uncle Mutts Plate (3 meat) with fried okra & cole slaw and a side of fried sweet corn. The lean brisket was not dry nor to greasy, the ribs slipped of the bone like a hot knife through butter & the sausage was tasty as well. The fried okra was great as was the cole slaw. The Fried Sweet Corn was spot one of the best I have ever had. Worth the trip & definitely worth the price. This plate will serve two people easily Will promote it & will definitely return.

I am so disappointed in Mutts, they catered our wedding 9 years ago and it was amazing. Stopped here and got Chopped Beef sandwiches. They were horrible to say the least, the meat was over cooked, buns were stail and all on all tasted horrible. Not to mention that the 9.99 per sandwich started the bad taste in my mouth.

This is one of three major BBQ joints in Victoria (The other two being Mumphords downtown and Dickeys up by the northside Wal-Mart). I would say it is easily one of the best. Our office used to be in the Heritage Mark building not far from here and my boss would order lunch for us and go pick it up at least once a week. The portions have been a little small at times, but that in no way takes away from the quality. This place is good, and if youre close and want BBQ, this is where you should stop.

But I dont think tips should be donated unless the employees who are working for said tips donate them themselves. Tips should never be kept from the people working for them. Over 9 bucks for a chop beef sandwich that Ive had alot better for alot cheaper and then 3 bucks for a drink that they screwed up anyway. A group of us made a stop here after reading the reviews (good and bad). What we found was a great establishment with AMAZING BBQ - worth the price. We also figured out the owner was a no BS kinda guy and as long as you were not behaving like an arse - used manors, you get treated right. As far as the bad reviews .. it is to bad some people are short on manners and brains.

while in Victoria Texas for the weekend we were driving around getting a feel for this town.. we saw the BBQ location Uncle Mutts.. it was very flavorful.. didnt have potatoe salad though.. thats my fav with bbq. portions were good for the money as well we ended up taking some to hotel for later.. would definately go again

Great!! I drove 45 minutes to get here and it was worth the Drive.. Good people Great Food and Im kinda Greedy lol... So I have NO COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE AMOUNT OF FOOD that I recieved.. Will Definitely return to this place for Sure.. Sorry No photos I dove into it before I thought about taking photos.. lol...
