Literally the best sushi in Tyler. No reason to pay more for less at local hibachi restaurants unless you are looking for the hibachi experience. Catch this place during lunch for the 2-3 roll specials at an unbeatable price. Very high quality sushi in such an unexpected place.

Gave me and my friend food poisoning twice! Never again, and before you blame other foods, it takes a day or two for food poisoning to hit. And I didn t eat anything that would of caused it except for spoiled raw fish. Take accountability and be more clean while preparing your food, and stop pushing the blame on the customers. Saying other customers don t report food poisoning is not a valid deflect because I didn t report it the first time it happened. The food is good, just lethal. :(

First visit, and it was amazing! Front counter clerks were very patient as we read through the menu boards (Theres a bunch to choose from), and our server was great! First time visit. Walking in made me apprehensive. Very small & counter ordering. Very helpful gentleman at cash register. Explained our likes & he recommended the Refreshing roll, which was delicious. Also ordered unagi and very fresh * tender. They provide complimentary miso soup, which is nice. No ginger or Wasabi provided, but can probably ask for it. No saki available. I do enjoy table service & saki, so Im only giving it a strong 4.

I decided to try this place for lunch after seeing all the good reviews. Overall, the food is okay. We ordered three different kinds of rolls: the Hello Kitty, a vegetable roll, and a shrimp tempura roll. I personally found the Hello Kitty roll to be too heavy on the cream cheese, but thats just my opinion. I liked their take on the vegetable roll; it has seasoned tofu alongside several veggies. The rolls are quite large in diameter and I had to cut up some of the pieces to eat them. Again, the food was alright. The free miso soup was a nice touch. Where GoFish needs to focus is the cleanliness of their building. It has a worn look on the inside that had me questioning the cleanliness of the kitchen. Granted, I realize it is a very small, high-volume restaurant, however, the interior doors are covered in greasy fingerprints where you push them open, there is chipping paint on the wall, the floors look like they could use a good scrubbing, and frankly, the womans bathroom was pretty abysmal. I dont know how the vent fan was still running with all the dust that was on it and the mirror has started to desilver. Also, the front counter area is very compact and small but it is quite cluttered and the equipment needs a good wipe down. One of the signs in front misspelled Japanese. The handheld menus were sticky and the table numbers are falling apart. While these are all small things, together they do make me question how clean the kitchen is. After reading the lower rated reviews, it seems as though this has been an issue for quite some time. As a new customer to the owners, I would encourage you to have a deep clean/touch up day. Its obvious by the size of the lunch crowd that you are very popular and theres no reason to lose customers over cleanliness or maintenance issues. Edited to say: I appreciate the owners quick response. This could easily be a five-star restaurant once the maintenance issues have been addressed.

We were looking for something new and decided to try Go Fish Modern Japanese Kitchen. I had the Mexican Roll and Pork Gyoza. The roll was wonderful! I always order Gyoza at a new restaurant. I love them and I like to compare see of the chef can cook them the way I ask them too. . The chef cooked them just the way I asked them too. My husband had a Poke Bowl and Sweet Potato Tempura. Both were very tasty. The star of the evening was our server Derrick! 10 stars for him! He was attentive, kind, thoughtful, everything you want in a server! We will definitely visit again. Not just for the food but to say hi to Derrick! Go Fish treat him well.

Absolutely LOVE THIS PLACE!! Mostly because they modify whatever you want into gluten free! My husband and I are here at least once a month. Happy Hour is the best!!! We get about 8 rolls and a plate of chicken fried rice for about $50. We live about an hour and 20 minutes away so when we go to Longview, if we are up for it we make the drive to Tyler just to eat here. The food is awesome and the staff are helpful and amazing. My kids love it too. They play anime on the t.v. so it gives my kids something to occupy themselves with while waiting on our food. It never takes them long to get our food out to us though. Maybe 10 minutes. LOVE THIS PLACE!! Would definitely eat here more often if we lived closer. Dietary restrictions: If you are ceoliac or have gluten allergy they will make anything you want gluten free!! Kid-friendliness: My children absolutely love eating here. Very kid friendly and have something for everyone!

Me and my husband have eaten here since they opened about 6 years ago at least 2 times a month and the food started off phenomenal and was always consistently fresh and tasty but it seems as time has progressed they have started to slack on the presentation and customer service...I reached out to the manager after I had an item missing from my poke bowl and he did remedy the issue after I proved I had placed the order, when I went to pick it up I sat at the window for about 10 mins without being greeted only for the girl who handed me my food to say if you want to sit here and check to make sure nothing is missing go ahead, like I needed permission...come on ppl you guys are not immune to making mistakes and I get it,but to make it seem like your customer did something wrong is not the way to handle an issue...I love the food here but having a good experience and feeling like the person or people preparing your food care really does go a long way and as a cook I can say passion and love are the key ingredients and so sad to say I am not feeling the love....

I came here to pick up a DoorDash the other night. The girl at the front counter was extremely rude. As I am told to sit and wait for order, a woman walks in and she is also picking up an order. She expresses that the last few times she came in, the rice tasted burnt. The front desk girl dismissed her and then as the woman left, she started talking very very poorly of the customer to her coworkers very loudly at the front. I am waiting so long as this point for the order that my doordash app asked if I wanted to unassign, I immediately unassigned and left that place. Would never come here to eat or pick up another order unless I want to wait over 20 minutes for 1 simple item while all the employees stand near the front and gossip.

Vanessa was the only unpleasant part of my experience here. The food is great and the vibe is on point. But the girl who took my order, Vanessa, was so rude.... I came in around 9:00 pm to sit down and try their sushi since I had heard good things. Was told by Vanessa that I wasnt aloud to eat my meal at the restaurant and must take it to go since they would close within the hour. So I said okay and placed my order, asked if I still get soup she told me if I was eating at the restaurant I could have soup but since I was ordering to go I couldnt. So I said okay. They actually did bring me a bowl of soup but then reminded me I needed to drink it fast so that I could leave as soon as my sushi was ready. So I drank the lukewarm soup rapidly and left when my order was ready 3 minutes later. Only thing I asked was for a little extra Wasabi and soy sauce so Vanessa, being annoyed clearly by my existence, rolled her eyes at me for about the 5th time in my short time being in her presence which really bothered me. Mostly because I had been nothing but nice and it seemed her only real issue with me is that I decided to order food at the restaurant she chose to work at but clearly doesnt enjoy. Anyway, the food was great, along with the 20 plastic Wasabi cups that Vanessa sarcastically threw in the bag Thanks Vanessa! If Vanessa is working when you come in, maybe come back another time

I had been very curious and interested in trying out a type of Sushi burrito and they have a great amount of different styles for you to also try if thats something youre wanting to try. I ended up getting the Chunky Sumo which is around $14, so a bit pricy for one meal, but it was more than enough food for one person, definitely will give you a stuffed feeling afterwards while also leaving you wanting more of it, especially with the dressing it comes with and I cant wait to get it again. When I went it was kind of busy I would say and it took about 10 mins to receive my food which is ok for what it was I guess and the interior is somewhat cramped so I wouldnt recommend a party of more than 4 going. Parking: It is a shared parking lot with about 10-15 spots I think, so its all relative on the time you go with most things Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp for wheelchair accessibility

Described by some as a hole in the wall, this place will pleasantly surprise. It surely doesnt look like much on the outside; the menu, displayed overhead or available online, is a bit overwhelming at first glance; ordering at the register, paying, sitting down and waiting for your food to be brought to you is unusual....but what you get is well worth it, especially for the price. Fresh and absolutely delicious are the words I would use to describe it. Simply put, you get good food without frills or unnecessary extras. In addition, I have to keep a gluten free diet for medical reasons, this place delivered in this way too. The avocado cucumber roll was thoroughly enjoyed by my 14-months old granddaughter. Yumyum was how she graded the food. The fish is displayed in a case for all to see, it tastes absolutely fresh, no off-putting fishy taste and it melts in your mouth as only fresh fish will. This is not something Id expect for East Texas; having enjoyed sashimi straight from the sea in South Korea I have high expectations....long story short, I highly recommend this place. Well worth a visit if you want something good, delicious and a good value for your money. I know Ill be back for more. Dietary restrictions: I have celiac disease and it was no problem. The employees were knowledgable about their GF options. Kid-friendliness: The waitress immediately went and obtained a high chair for us.

The sushi menu is plentiful... we ordered like 10 different types of sushi because it was so many! The cream cheese filled wonton, are delicious along with the stuffed peppers, and the shrimp fried rice... we definitely recommend.. its a little drop in type spot not fancy at all. Dont sleep on their food though... I definitely give them a 9.5

Very small dining area is the only knock. My 12-year old son said it was the best shrimp tempura he had ever had. I hat the One night stand and it was fresh, packed and delicious with a little jalapeño kick. Will definitely go back, but if its my whole family of five, we will drive through. Small dining room with my 2-year old would be a challenge.

Amazing, fresh sushi. Friendly staff. Busy but worth it. Spicy Drunken Shrimp is my FAVE!!! Crispy, fried shrimp on top of cool, Cali rolls with crunchy crab strings . Yum!!! And so filling! Parking: Smallish parking lot. Ive been through the drive through once. It works out well, but not if you are in a hurry.

It is a small restaurant that got busy at 12:30. Small tables for 2 or 4 people. The menu is extensive. We shared The Amazing roll and The Texas roll, both were good. The smokey thin meat was not what I was expecting, however, the sushi itself was tasty. The drinks are XL, so come thirsty! The tea, even without sugar, had a wonderful flavor. The shrimp fried rice was basic. I added green onion and sesame to my leftovers to perk up the dish.

I love this place the food is really great, but my experience today was awful. I had ordered a Spicy Girl Roll around 01:52, we waited about 40 minutes and I still had not received my food at all. People who had ordered their food after, had received their order before mine. When I went to the cash register to ask for a refund, they didn t even bother to give an explanation for the problem.

They do not take food allergies serious!!!! I ordered here and let them know that I am allergic to avocado! I made it very clear! The server assured me there was no avocado in my order. I get home and take a bite and what do I find. AVOCADO! I am now in the ER fighting for my life due to their negligence!

Before I start writing the review: I lived in Japan for 7 years when I was young. Anyways this is hands down the best sushi place in east Texas by far! I ve never eaten here and went that could ve been better . I ALWAYS leave satisfied! I would rate this place a 10/5 if I could. Keep up the great work! I love this place; I go here almost every time Im in Tyler! They have Happy Hour every day, and you get complimentary Miso Soup if you dine-in! They have a punch card that lets you get a free item after 8 visits! Their sushi rice is delicious and they have a huge variety of Sushi to choose from; the menu is larger than any other sushi restaurant Ive visited in East Texas. This restaurant is a must-try!

I ve been coming here for years and I loved it. It was one of my favorite places. Recently I ve had a couple times where it really upset my stomach. So I waited bc I thought well maybe they changed chefs or something Or maybe it s unrelated . ..so I would wait a while in between visits. But this last time I got so sick. I won t be back Edit: Apparently I can t respond to owners comment. But your food was the only thing I had that day. And actually I ve heard otherwise. They re probably just not complaining bc I didn t until this last time because I was hoping it wasn t. I use to love GoFish. Maybe you need to make sure your employees are keeping raw fish and meats at the proper temperatures. I contacted the health department. Thank you.

Pretty good for a small restaurant and drive thru sushi. They need descriptions for the drive thru rolls because I never know what I m ordering. And always make sure they put all your food in the bag, I drove home without a roll once but they kept my name and I got a free one the next day. Would have been even better if they refunded too, but oh well. Yummy sushi.

Go Fish is the best restaurant in Tyler This place has been serving up quality sushi for years. Prices are great. The rolls are massive and I ve never had one I didn t like. The restaurant is a little small, but this is a go-to shop. Have lived in multiple big cities but this is one of my favorite sushi shops ever. Blessings.
