Imagine my amazement when I see a fresh ball of dough being formed into a pita and cooked on the griddle! Like eating little clouds of heavenly goodness with the hummus! We also enjoyed an OG gyro and a Philly gyro. This place is the truth!

Food was actually way better than I thought it would be! Apparently, the business used to operate out of a food truck for many years before opening this store, so the food has that satisfying food truck quality paired with the convenience of the store. Definitely try the gyro on fries. Although not the most authentic dish, it was brilliantly satisfying.

Just popped in for a gyro and hummus. I came 30 minutes before they closed, which I am finding out after the fact. They did not let on to this at all. They were so nice and even gave me a water while I was waiting. The portions are HUGE and the food is delicious. Like seriously so delicious. 10/10.

I ordered the O.G. pita being my first time here and wanting to try it out and with telling the worker at the front this, I was pleasantly surprised with getting a free side of fries (Which are amazing!) and a little taster sample of falafel! Will definitely be back just from the service itself, but the food was also great and exactly what I had been hoping for. A cool little, almost hole in the wall style of a restaurant. If youre craving a gyro, this is your place to go!

Amazing food and customer service. Best falafel I ve had in this area. I highly recommend trying the falafel and fries, as well as, their pita bread and hummus. Their hummus is unlike any other I ve had before delicious and addictive. The fries are perfection every time I go . Fresh and seasoned just right. The staff is super nice and the vibe is chill. I have recommended this place to many and it s always a hit. I wish I could show pictures of the food, but honestly it s hard to resist demolishing it every time. You take one bite and that s it carried away.

Had lunch here 3/29. First, this is not a traditional Greek/Mediterranean restaurant. This is a Mediterranean-southwest fusion restaurant. I did not expect that when I came in, but I was not disappointed. I enjoy a good chicken shawarma, traditionally roasted. However, the chicken on my plate was done with heavy southwest influence, lots of Chipotle, in almost an adobo style. There were several types of Tiki sauces, we tried the original, Chipotle, and jalapeño. All were good, I liked the Chipotle the best. The gentleman at the counter was very patient with us as we ordered and allowed to try things, from the sauces to even throwing in a falafel for me to try (Ive never had falafel before). Overall I was quite pleased. Do not go in expecting traditionally greek or Mediterranean fare - you will not have that here. But for what it is, I was very happy.

We brought our daughter and family here for her birthday. My husband and son enjoyed their og gyro and philly. My daughter and I could not eat our gyros or the pita chips and tzaziki sauce because they were so spicy!!! Nowhere on the menu is it noted either of those things was spicy. Sadly, Im now looking for another Greek restaurant we can enjoy together. It was a $65 meal that 2 of 4 of us could not eat. Ive never had spicy gyros/pita chips.

If you are looking for ultra casual quick food with ethnic taste far away from run of the mill burger or want to taste something different than this is the place for you. Food was good and plentiful. Service was efficient and we were glad the seats were comfortable. While the food was good it lacked the authentic taste I was expecting. This is middle eastern type food but not the traditional Arabic food. The falafel were crisp and tasty. Shawarma was well skewered. The Chicken had a unique blend of spices but very nice. We also ordered fries and we got a heap of them with special blend of seasoning. No alcohol is served. Now I can say I have tried this place! Bon appetite Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options are available.

Just the place Tyler needs. Visited on a random Thursday night. People kept coming in the door and now I see why. Fresh ingredients from the veggies to the meat. That lettuce was perfect. There is potential here to be sure! Unfortunately they gyro meet is not carved to order or really heated on the flattop when you order it. The meat is cold and dried out. The falafel flavor is there but greasy and soggy. The pita bread was also cold and hard. When we got there, there was no one else in the restaurant. Overall the service was good, and the restaurant is clean- the food was definitely lacking.

Its a little place, but in a comfortable way. It focuses on good food and doesnt disappoint! It was a bit of a surprise to see kimchi fries on the menu. The only complaint I have is the small variety of drink, which is by no means a deal breaker. Especially considering they cost about the same as any standard fast food place. What About Kabob is a fantastic, modern take on Greek gyros. Every ingredient is fresh and high quality. The pitas are made to order, and they are fantastic. Fries/pita chips seasoning? Great. Gyro meat? Also great. Sauces? Yes, great as well. Hummus? Absolutely. They have several different types of gyros ranging from traditional Greek gyros to modern American takes on gyros. They have several different sauces. I always get their traditional tzatziki, which is fantastic. It s a great spot!

Do not plan to dine in here unless the smell of nail polish remover is appetizing to you. The food is excellent as always, but they clearly share ventilation with the nail salon next door and the odor is overwhelmingly strong and headache inducing. Fortunately you can order the food to go. I was excited when I discovered they have a restaurant again instead of a truck but I cant eat in there. As for the food, the gyro meat is full of flavor and my favorite sauce is the grenade. If you like a lot of heat, give the ghost pepper sauce a try.

A true foodie treasure is back and as delicious as ever!! For any local foodies in the Tyler area, you knew who What About Kabobs was. They were locally owned gyros of awesome! But the owners sadly had to move on and the business changed hands a time or two before what we all thought was closing for good. Then low and behold, a new owner gave us new hope when he bought the rights and started a food truck! Loyal fans everywhere rejoiced and followed as best we could. But winter was brutal, cold, and abnormally wet that year. Then Covid And it closed again. But the owner said to hang on and hope. He wasn t done yet. Now they re back open on South Broadway in another shop and the food is AWESOME!!! Fresh cooked to order gyros, falafel, shawarma and more are awaiting you! The vibe is great inside and at 5:00 when they opened for dinner, folks were waiting to get in! Make sure the next time they re open, you re in line too! This place is worthy of its resurrection so get over here and show some love! Your tastebuds will thank you!

They are finally back in business after taking a break since the Spring. This was a food truck and now a restaurant, that was a restaurant. The full menu, prices, and more importantly, FLAVORS are all there. This is even better because you get to see how everything is made since its an open kitchen. The Gyros are usually great. Even though they dont come with the traditional feta cheese you have to ask for it, And of course pay extra. Other than that the new owners are okay. Seems like they are trying to make a positive effort.

Love the OG (Original Gyro) and the Texas Philly Gyro (get the siracha mayo!!!!). Get there early for the lunch rush. Expect a little wait for your food if you are not first. But its worth it. If you want to try something different, order the kimchi fries.

Best gyro in tyler. This is where the locals go for gyros. I hear they have good burgers as well. I love burgers but I cant get past a gyro to try one. Also, I love their pita chips and hummus. They are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
