We were so excited to try this restaurant. After living in Houston my entire life I ve had my fair share of Mexican food/TexMex. Service was just ok. Salsa was like water. Chips were cold and stale. Carne asap was paper thin and tough. Cheese enchilada plate was lukewarm and she carried it with her bare hand so you know it wasn t hot. Margaritas were terrible. Never going back.

The salsa was too liquified, and they weren t always there because there were two people. Even though the people were funny and nice my food took FOREVER, and be prepared because the menu is mainly fish. The menu is totally different from what I had but this was far from the best restaurant I ve went to.

Food was great! Enchiladas were hot (temperature). Perfect! Service was good. They were understaffed. Many tables were dirty. (Wednesday night) My main complaint is that they did not have fried ice cream available. It was the main reason I went and the owner didn t make enough to get through the week.

The only thing we had that was good was the red salsa. Enchiladas had no flavor, the tacos al carbon were tough to chew, the quesadilla was ok, the charro beans had a funny taste to them, and the margaritas were weak. Not going back. Wheelchair accessibility: Horrible. The handicapped parking spots were across the lot. In addition, The ramp was blocked by two huge planters and it was difficult for my father to access the door.

I got the sour cream chicken enchiladas. The cream sauce was great the chicken tasted like tuna. Should have gotten the spinach. Or it would have been awesome if I could order one of each...but I couldnt. Im assuming because they are premade which is probably why it tasted like tuna. The service ok the restaurant is nice and clean. Hot sauce was great! And our food was out in less than 10 mins!! So over all not bad.

Not authentic food at all. They skimmed on everything. They had no real salsa anywhere, the salsa was bland, overly runny, and watered down. The corn tortillas werent cooked well (Im thinking microwaved) because they fell apart -- cooked tortillas dont do that. The beef torta had no tomato or onion, two things it should have. The bread tasted more like French bread than bolillo. The only thing that was good was the music and the meat seemed to be cooked well, but sadly there was too little of it. The wait staff was nice but the waitress never bothered to come back and only did so to ask if I needed the check.

First time here with the husband. Upon walking in, we werent sure if we needed to be seated by a staff member or if we were to see it or so. Stood there like a bunch of dummies for a few minutes and then decided to just grab a table ourselves. Seems like the regular get better service than the non-regulars. Felt like that in our case anyways. We constantly had to flag down somebody to get something for us and when we ask for something it took forever for them to get it to us. Case in point we ordered our drinks. He got a frozen margarita and I ordered a sweet tea. I immediately asked for a straw when the tea was set in front of me and proceeded to wait and wait and wait and wait. The waiter never came back with my straw. Had to flag down another staff member who was walking by and asked her for a straw. Took a while but she eventually brought me a straw with her hands full of drinks and other stuff for another table so the service was very lacking. As for our waiter, not sure what was going on. There seem to be three or four staff members handling the tables yet as the stated before it took forever for us to receive anything that we requested. Now on to the food its edible. Nothing to rave about and Im not sure why the local love this place so much. First up chips and salsa. They brought a normal size basket of chips to the table for the two of us and then they brought two different sauces. One red, one green. What threw me off was that the salsas were not served in little bowls. They were served in pancake syrup bottles that you would get at IHOP or someplace like that. Really weird and not very functional, especially for the red salsa which was kind of chunky so it didnt pour out of these funky little bottles easily. They did provide tiny bowls to pour your salsa into which I dont know why they just didnt pour the salsa into the bowl and bring it that way to the table First time at any Tex-Mex Mexican restaurant for me is always a enchilada plate with rice and beans. I rate every restaurant on the rice & beans. If you can make amazing rice and beans, Im pretty sure the rest of the menu will be good. I had refried beans that were absolutely delicious. They werent completely pureed smashed paste beans. They actually had whole or half pintos smashed into a creamy pinto base. They were absolutely delicious. The husband had the charro beans and he absolutely love them. After a good start, at least the beans, the refried and the charro beans were absolutely delicious. As for my enchilada plate, I had one cheese enchilada with the cheese sauce topping it. And one cheese enchilada with a chili type topping. Unfortunately neither one of these enchiladas were very good. They were not very authentic and not enjoyable. I absolutely love enchiladas and its my go-to standard at pretty much any restaurant but these were just not for me. As for the side of rice, it had no flavor. Not even a hint of salt. It had a pale yellow color so I thought they would actually taste good because they look good on the plate but they were not good at all. The husband had ordered shrimp rancheros and he said they were really good. Cooked deliciously and they had the perfect amount of spicy heat to them. They were served with rice and the charro beans which he of course loved. All in all this place is perfect If youre looking for a margarita or some other type of alcoholic drink. The service is lacluster and very slow. I understand that places are suffering but when a place is not even halfway full and you have plenty of staff to cover these tables, theres no reason for your customers to have to sit and wait and beg to have things brought to them.

The waitress was distant. Had to catch her to get straws and she never got us salt for our chips. Queso was worse than any Ive ever had and was cold and lumpy. Salsa and green sauce they give you were so watered down that it would not stay on the chip. Chips were ok. I ordered Tacos al carbon. The steak was top notch but the tortillas they served it in was old and falling apart. They ought to be ashamed of serving that dish. Such a waste of good steak with those tortillas. This food isnt even TexMex. Honestly you have to have no knowledge of real Mexican food or good TexMex to even think this food is edible. I dont ever review restaurants with good or bad reviews but I was compelled to warn people of this lackluster restaurant. And when we were paying to leave the lady up front where you pay was rude to my wife. She never looked up and threw the receipt as her after paying. My wife said have a good night and she ignored us. NEVER going back. To many outstanding places for Mexican food in Tyler than to settle for food worse than a microwavable dish. Be warned.

We have dined at this restaurant many times. It was our go to place for Mexican food and Tyler however tonight night my husband my mother and myself stopped in for dinner my husband ordered fajitas my mother and I each had a chicken chimichangas The chicken was spoiled spoiled we asked the waitress to exchange it for beef she said she would have to get the manager a lady came to the table I assume she was the manager and told us that they didn t take food back and that we would have to purchase something to replace it in addition to paying for the spoiled entrées. We told her we were just not eating it. At the checkout my husband said neither my wife nor my mother-in-law ate any of their chimichanga I don t feel like we should be charged for something that is not edible the lady after a few minutes decided to give us 50% off of one of them and we ended up paying full price for the other we did not get so much as we re sorry I hope you come back give us another chance the lady was actually quite rude. We never had this happen there before however they won t do it to us again because we will not be returning and I would not recommend them to anyone for one thing if you have spoiled chicken in your kitchen you re not rotating your food very well therefore I was being generous by giving them one star

The price however is a bit too high. For me my daughter and one of my granddaughters who is only 3 so didnt eat much it was over $50 no alcohol, no appetizers, no dessert, all we had we 2 drinks ( by the way anything other than tea refills are charged) 2 entrées and 1 childs plate. There was a small blob of meat on the top of chips, not spread evenly. I expected cheese, lettuce maybe, and hot sauce with my order. Most of the chips had nothing to put on them and had to scrounge the work fridge just for some hot sauce to put on them to get them down. No wonder the place was empty.

This is one of our new favorite places. Small, private, and loaded with great atmosphere.. The service was terrific and quick. The food was really good, and the prices were quite reasonable.

We visited at noon and there was no wait. Decor was simple but pleasant. The salsa was fresh and flavorful. Service was acceptable and food quality decent. I did ask for onions inside my enchilada and they were served on top. I like them either way but just saying. I noticed margaritas on the happy hour menu so I may be tempted to try them later in the day. Update 8.30.22 Visited again, this time around 1 pm. Good and service still good. Really enjoyed the cheese enchiladas. Salsa some of the best in town.

This is my favourite Mexican food place to eat in Tyler. They are fast, polite and the food is delicious. I find the food to be pretty similar to what I am used to back home.

I enjoyed the beef enchiladas. The salsa and guacamole sauce were very tasty. The service was excellent, and the restaurant has a cheerful, local mom & pop feel to it. Definitely recommend.

Food was ok, but queso tasted like it was canned cheese and person waiting on us kept going back to her laptop and ignoring us when we needed more chips or drinks.

We had lunch while waiting for an appointment. We had passed by a couple of times and decided to try. It was family cozy and friendly. The food was tasty and the service was great. The green sauce was good as mentioned by another rater. We will be back.

Ordered the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were soft & a flavor that was not right. After a little persuasion, they agreed on half price...still too much for one bite of bad shrimp
