We have visited this park a few times. We have enjoyed the updated playground. Unfortunately some unruly people have ruined parts of the playground for other people, but overall it is still a great playground for families. I noticed in our recent visit they a gate around most of the perimeter has been added. This is a nice edition to help keep kids from wandering off towards the creek or even running in front of runners or bicyclists using the trail.

Such a beneficial addition to Tyler. We need more green spaces for walking and biking. Im not crazy about the playground; I prefer the traditional swings over dirt. Love the trails.. I try to remember to bring gloves to pick up garbage PLEASE DO NOT LITTER!

I love that my husband found this park. Its nicely padded with lots to do. The larger play area has plenty of slides, walkways and climbable things for the big kids. They have a smaller toddler play land with much the same and benches for the parents to sit and watch. Theres a Large-instrument music section with xylophones and drums.. swing sets w toddler and special needs swings. There was a walking path and a sitting area with statues. Theres also a red book barn we will be donating kids material too. Playground: There was an air pump available on the bike path Toilets: Mens and womens separate bathrooms are available Picnic area: There were a few tables scattered about and a pavilion available for rent.. there was a water fountain

I love the exercise equipment along the path. The childrens park is great, and Songahm Martial Arts Academy sometimes offers free classes in the park. The city of Tyler has done a great job of providing spaces for families to spend quality time together and for children to play and to be active over the watchful eyes of their parents.

The primary creek could stand to be cleaner, but overall a great park. At least one small Geocache is intact (BYOP), and the trail has fully functional exercise equipment. The other trail users are nice, too. One of the trail-head maps has graffiti on it, but the others are in good shape. The tunnel at the south end of the trail is an interesting way to avoid crossing the street.

The south side park is definitely the place to be when u want your kids to give you a break. The only thing I would suggest is adding a fence around the woods area because my little brother almost fell into the woods and tumbled down on his hover board and not only that there s also the pipe which is suspicious and dangerous for surrounding children. It is still a great park and there are so many places to have fun and hang.

Amazing updates made to park make for more family friendly large park. Plenty of swings and jungle gym to run around in a secure area. Plenty of walking. NEEDS more guards around creek drop offs. Otherwise, great big area to spend with family and friends. Playground: Updated and very fun environment. Plenty of space. Toilets: 2 restrooms relatively clean. Dog-friendliness: As long as your dogs are friendly. People usually dont mind. Picnic area: Under the awning are plenty of seats. But also plenty of picnic tables under shady trees.
