This is the third time that we have been here and ordered water - the water is absolutely terrible tastes like toilet water - when we tell them they don t offer anything else. We had no waitress at the hibachi for 15 min before even getting the bad water.

I went with a friend and was told the wait would be 39 minutes, but it ended up being over 40. People who arrived after us were seated before we were. The young hostesses were disorganized and lacked good service. When I told one of them that I was leaving, she didn t care at all; she showed indifference and made a dismissive gesture. I worked in this industry for many years, and honestly, I left with a very bad impression. I won t be coming back.

They added automatic gratuity to our table of 5 without telling us. For a hibachi table, all they had to do was take our order and keep the drinks flowing and they didnt manage that. Tipped the chef though as the food was prepared beautifully.

Lauren was our waitress. She was absolutely phenomenal! We had mussels x2, Calamari x2, Sushi Rolls x2 and Udon Noodles with extra veggies and noodles. Drinks: Water all around and hot Jasmine Tea x1. I highly recommend Lauren as a waitress! Her personality, positive energy and connection to food and our needs were warm and welcoming! She made our experience worth our time being there! Thank you Lauren for being you! Absolutely amazing service!

Me and my family went to this restaurant and honestly didn t have a terrible experience. The wait was longer than I desired, especially considering the restaurant wasn t too full, but I tried to be understanding because we had a large party. When our food arrived, it was mediocre at best. It was our first time trying it and I can confidently say we will not be back. This is not because of the food quality, however. It is because after we left the restaurant a friend of mine saw a picture posted of me and my family seated at our table on someone s social media. The photo was captioned something along the lines of don t be like these people and stay ten minutes after closing and was posted by our server. First and foremost, I am appalled that me and my family were posted without our consent. And secondly, how DARE Kevin Smith talk poorly about his customers who tipped him well despite the fact that he was inadequate in every aspect of serving. He was slow, didn t check on us very often, and even left a tray at our table after serving us, and that doesn t even begin to cover all of it. And yes we were there after they closed, but if they learned how to serve us in a timely manner, this wouldn t have been the case. I m really disappointed to say that we won t be back to your restaurant any time soon. Do better, Sakekawa.

Our decision to try Sakekawa stemmed from a recommendation on the I Love Conroe Facebook group, sparking our curiosity. However, our experience was a little lack-luster. While the hibachi dishes left much to be desired with fishy-tasting soup, mediocre fried rice, and average steak the sushi, particularly the fishs size and quality, earned high praise from my husband, a Tokyo native. Yet, inconsistencies in rice texture across rolls and the unappetizing presentation of rice spilling from the sides marred the sushi experience. The restaurants ambiance was undeniably beautiful, but the unsightly vents on the ceiling detracted from its overall appeal. Moreover, our encounter with the manager, Kristie, soured the experience further. Despite making a reservation, navigating the nuances of hibachi dining on OpenTable proved challenging, leading to an unpleasant interaction with Kristie upon arrival. Her demeanor lacked hospitality, and her approach to handling reservations felt unwelcoming and unnecessary. Despite these setbacks, the allure of high-quality sushi draws us back, albeit to the alternative location to bypass any potential encounters with Kristie. Sakekawa may have its flaws, but for sushi aficionados seeking top-notch fish, it remains a contender in The Woodlands sushi dining scene.

The main course of teriyaki salmon was cooked to perfection, and the presentation was impeccable. The service was top-notch; our waiter was friendly and made excellent suggestions. It s was really sad, it was Mother s Day celebration, 2:20 pm, there were many tables and since we get there and speak in Spanish they take us outside without AC, all alone, but then we go back inside and ask again for a table inside. 2 of the host were like looking at us mad, we just came from church so we were so happy. But they were disrespectful and they take like 45-60 min for 3 rolls , 1 kids meal and one shrimp mango with cashews plate.

My recent dining experience at Sakekawa was disappointing to say the least. The quality of the shrimp and lobster hibachi miserably failed to meet expectations, as both were grievously overcooked, leading to a compromised, rubbery indulgence Id liken to dishes served at a cheap Chinese buffet uninspiring and lacking in quality. To make matters worse, the establishments pricing was steep, grossly misaligned with the substandard fare served. Moreover, the drinking water had a distressing flavor, akin to sewage, and was unfit for consumption. This discrepancy between price and quality alongside the serious concern with the water makes it difficult for me to ever recommend anyone to eat here. It is with hope that the management will heed this critique and strive for the high standards one would anticipate from a restaurant of their pricing.

I have been here about 4 times in the last 4-5 months and each time I have had horrible service. Only reason I continue to come here is for the food. Every server I have had has been very forgetful, inattentive, and seems to be annoyed. My last visit was probably the worst experience so far with witnessing multiple employees talking rudely to each other in front of customers which is VERY unprofessional and does NOT create a welcoming environment that a restaurant should have. Customers come to your restaurant to relax, have a good time, and eat food. It is hard to enjoy your time with those you came with when you witness employees going at it with each other. The whole place is unprofessional in the way employees talk to each other in front of customers and also the way employees talk to customers. All of the managers need a lesson in how to give constructive criticism to fellow employees rather than with an angry tone and angry facial expressions in plain sight for customers to see and hear. Whoever the owner is needs to focus on training managers to be professional with fellow employees and customers because I was genuinely shocked for what I witnessed thinking I was on the TV show What Would You Do?

The food was delicious, but unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. We had to wait for nearly 40 minutes to place our order, and even then, they forgot a part of it. To make matters worse, they added extra items to our bill. When I brought this to their attention with photos as evidence, they insisted we had consumed those items. However, to their credit, the manager did eventually remove the extra items from the bill, though it was disappointing that the waiter accused us of consuming them in the first place.

We came here on a Sunday for lunch and sat in the hibachi area. We ve been here before and love the food. However today it was extremely hot in the hibachi area. So much so that my babies head was soaked in sweat, it looked like she had just gotten out of the bath. We told the front desk, the manager, and our waiter about it and asked if they could turn it down. Once our food was finished we went back to the manager and asked if she could turn it down again. She had a rude attitude and said I already turned it down! . We advised her to look at our babies head . We even asked other tables around us and they mentioned the same thing about the heat.

Ok, I will start with the good. We have been going here for years and always had a good experience with great customer service and greeted by managers. Well unfortunately this last time Sunday 10/15/2023 will be our last. When entering the air had a smell of burnt plastic or something. The sushi was not tasting the way it usually does. After trying to finish our meal we decided the smells and the tastes were just not up to par. I then went to the bathroom to wash my hands and upon getting a paper towel to dry I seen several small german roaches crawling the wall. I caught one in my paper towel and took it quietly to the hostess. I then went to the bar to ask the big bald man who the manager was. I was trying to be discreet but he decided to respond back in a nasty arrogant tone he was the bar manager and how can I help you. Without regard then to the customers I stated there were several german roaches crawling in the bathroom and i gave a dead one the hostess to prove it. He response was classic as O<K. I wasnt expecting a free dinner or anything but a little compassion after just eating in your place and now I feel very sick with the creepy crawly in the bathroom I am an older man and I know when there is roaches in a room where there is no food there is a major infestation in the place. WE WILL NOT GO THERE ANYMORE AND THEY WILL NOT GET OUR BUSINESS. SORRY BUT THIS NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED AND THEY NEED BETTER MANAGEMENT!

Go elsewhere for hibachi. My daughter ordered steak hibachi. To her surprise steak hibachi is mostly mushrooms with some steak. After she dug out the mushrooms and tried the steak, it was extremely tough. When we told our waiter, he said all hibachis come with mushrooms (not true) and refused to accommodate my daughter. I asked for the manager and she insisted the steak hibachi always came with mushrooms. I asked her how should customers know this if its their first visit and the menu doesnt state mushrooms are part of the dish. The manager responded well know this on our next visit. Never again will we visit this restaurant- horrible customer service and a menu which doesnt accurately describe the main ingredients in the dish. Im not one to complain but this is the worst restaurant experience Ive had in The Woodlands.

Fun atmosphere and great food make Sakekawa a fine place for date nights, family events, or dinners with friends. There is a hibachi section (teppanyaki style grill) which is great for special occasions and a more fun interactive dining experience. The regular restaurant area offers options for quiet dining or more open experiences. The food has never disappointed, whether we went with the Hibachi dinner, Suishi, or other Japanese fare. We were seated quickly at a Hibachi table where our drinks and sushi were delivered promptly. The happy hour sushi was pretty good. Our meals prepared at the table were good.

Management/owners/staff are all a joke. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. They literally held us hostage by not giving us our tabs and called the cops on us for laughing after they told us we d have to pay $70 for 2 menus that our 8 year olds damaged by drawing on. The manager noticed the menus had been drawn on, came over to the KIDS and interrogated them. After interrogating the kids and the kids admitted to drawing on the menus, he talked with his boss/owner and they decided the parents should pay for the menus. He came back and told us adults the situation and we basically laughed and said we would not be paying for a MENU. Since we said we wouldn t pay and laughed they ended up calling the cops and would not give us our checks until the cops arrived. There were 11 adults there and over half of us are in or have been in the service industry. Never in a million years would our manager or owner make our customers pay for a menu that their kid damaged. They are KIDS and had we saw that happen, we would ve stopped them. It was absolutely ridiculous the lengths they went to to ensure their menus were paid for. The manager literally told us he doesn t have kids and doesn t understand where we are coming from and he would never let them mark in menus . We clearly wouldn t just let them do that, we did not see it happening or even know it happened. The whole situation could ve and should ve been handled differently. Horrible owners, staff, and management. We were treated HORRIBLE here for a little kid s mistake.

Horrible Service and subpar food. You better go any where else rather than spend your money on a terrible experience. The server brought the sushi out with his whole hand over the top of the top of the sushi? Then when he had asked if my son wanted apple juice and I said no thank you he proceeds to say that s ok, it gives you the s***s anyways . Seriously? Who talks to a women that way, let alone a customer. So gross and classless

Great food and service. Fair value. Nice atmosphere, if a little darkly lit. They put on such a fun show for a toddler having his birthday there.

The experience wasnt ideal. Half of the things I ordered wasnt available. I was told by my server that it was thrown away already. The steak in my rice was overly cooked, crispy and very dry. I told my server and she overlooked the situation and seemed very careless. As a chef working in the hospitality industry, I would never let anyone walk out my restaurant with a poor experience. I wont be returning and I wont recommend my pet gorilla to eat at such a shack like this.

Very disappointed. Despite having a reservation , we were forced to wait over 30 minutes to be seated. They do not know how to handle walk-ins versus reservations.

Great food, but i ve been here 2 times and each time i ve gotten the same server and she is the worst, doesn t care, throws the food on the table and instantly turns away doesn t ask if we need anything. I m a server myself and i can say this is bad service. she pressured us to cash our check and never returned after we paid. even though the food is good, i won t be back because the service is horrible.

The first time we went there the food was good, the service was great. But the second time, we went with more people so there was a guaranteed gratuity on the meals which I m guessing is why the server didn t even bother trying to remember everything and doing his job right. Even the chef came out with an attitude, and didn t even know or bother to ask who got what, just put random stuff on people s plates that they didn t order.

The staff here are very kind. Especially the sushi chefs behind the bar. No complaints with the staff at all. The restaurant is clean. However, the only reason I gave 3 stars was because after eating here my husband and I weren t feeling well. Our stomachs were so upset. We shared two rolls between the two of us the Boston roll and jingle bell roll. Not sure if fish was bad but we weren t well that evening and in the bathroom a lot.

This was not my first time visiting a grill like this, but the type of food was different for me. It didnt matter, though, because our server was very friendly and informative. We were there for my goddaughters birthday, and the time was so enjoyable! If you love sushi, this is a great place to go. If youre not sure what to get, try the N45. It is definitely a favorite . The atmosphere was great and our cook was so fun and interactive!!
