This place is a must go! We came here to get away from it all and boy did we! Starters were the prawns and octopus which were cooked perfectly. Flavors were out of this world. It s been a while since I ve had octopus this good. The main was the scallops. Again the flavor pairing was perfect. Definitely a highlight and the presentation was excellent. For the sides we had the wilted spinach with spiced butter, habanero laccha and the savoy spinach & goat cheese kulcha. Perfection! So good!! Desert - strawberry and coconut panna cotta. Damn! Easy to not share this dessert. What a great way to end dinner! For the service, one word .Un-freaking-believable! Austin made our night. Well done sir!! Kid-friendliness: Saw a lot kiddos. They were enjoying the food too!

Our server Eddie was top notch. He was tentative while giving us space and led us in the right direction food-wise. We will keep coming here! What a great date night!!

Absolutely blown away. The wife and I came here for our wedding anniversary. The service alone is worth a shout out. The wait staff made us feel like we were all alone in the restaurant with them. Everyone was so kind, friendly, and personal. Additionally, as one might expect, the food was incredible. The stand out dishes were the coconut prawn curry, the tuna crudo, the lamb chops, and all of the desserts. Thank you staff at Amrina for making our anniversary so special. Cant wait to visit again. See you soon!

The cuisine is nothing short of spectacular each dish is a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and presented with such artistry. Chef Jassi Bindra is simply phenomenal, bringing a unique and delicious twist to every bite. They made my graduation dinner truly memorable, with great staff who ensured everything was perfect. With the beautiful ambiance and setting, we were expecting a much better experience when it came to the Food itself. If you know Indian cuisine and flavors, you would find this place with NO wow factor whatsoever for a 5 star restaurant. Extremely small portions and food lacking in flavor, we rather go to a regular Indian restaurant where we would have had 3 dinners at the same price. Our party of 5 went home needing a second dinner after spending more than 80$ per person. The CHAAT which can be made great with a modern Indian twist, was full of fried KALE !!! Who makes chaat with kale as a layer above a few potatoes and chickpeas. 3 pieces of Paneer on the Appetizer which is not at all a shareable portion. They hardly had any Rice dishes on the menu (such as Biryani) which is the soul of indian cuisine. We understand the concept of a contemporary and fine dining experience which comes with a higher price, however the food itself should be the main part of that experience. Every bite should be a medley of unforgettable and creative flavors. As an example,Spice Klub in California with a fabulous menu and flavor profile. Disappointing experience is the best summary for our visit ! Vegetarian options: They only have Paneer as a main course and an appetizer. So many flavorful and unique vegetarian options can be made. Chef lacks creativity.

This was easily the best culinary experience I ve had in Houston! Omg book this place for your next date night. We drove from River Oaks to give this place a try on a Saturday night. Valet is offered upon arrival. We were a little early so we were greeted with a warm welcome from the host and proceeded to the bar for some drinks while we waited for our table. I tried my first espresso martini here and loved it! We also tried what-o-melon drink. Both were made to perfection. Our bartender was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us some insight on the restaurant and the famous chef ! This made the experience so much more enjoyable. When our table was ready our host came to get us and take us to our table. Boy oh boy the vibe here was so romantic. Our table was set with fresh roses and ambient lighting. We started with the TRUFFLE RAJ KACHORI & Whiskey naan. The presentation of the dishes was phenomenal. For our main entrees we tried the chicken breast & braised beef short rib. Each dish was honestly a 10/10. The flavors were great! Our waitress also explained our dishes. For dessert we indulged in the chocolate mousse. All I can say is wow , we enjoyed this restaurant experience so much. Thank you Amrina for making our date night AMAZING! You need to try this place at least once! Chef Jassi has curated an amazing culinary experience ! Dietary restrictions: Our waitress asked us if we had any restrictions prior to ordering.

We did the Tapas experience. The waitress was excellent at her job, but unfortunately we left hungry. If youre going to charge that much for an experience and charge 20% gratuity for 2 ppl then you shouldnt let your customers leave hungry. Why not provide the bread for free? Instead of $6 a peice when it likely costs nothing for you to make. (fyi gratuity used to be reserved for large groups that sucked up additional restaurant resources. Requiring it for 2 ppl really sours me on tipping). Lastly, we had a great cocktail that they decided to change the recipe on for our second one. When we told them we didnt like it as much they just left it with us and didnt replace it. The bar tender was not receptive to us disliking the change. It would be a shame to change all of the cocktails to be super sweet. A well rounded menu has to have a savory option and the first one we had was perfect. (Waitress was 5+ stars, but bartender was 3 or less). Based on the taste/quality of the food for the tapas experience, Im sure the regular menu is awesome.

Our server Dee couldn t have been more attentive and professional. She even asked Chef to come to our table to take a picture with us. Now the food, omg every bite was delicious with just the right amount of spice with a nod to Indian cuisine. The octopus appetizer was spectacular (pricey but worth it). The cocktails served in the most creative fashion and very tasty. Even if you re not a fan of Indian food, they have something for everyone! The cocktails here are super fancy so don t forget to try! I tried their Future mission and wow loved the drink and the presentation! Highly recommend. Now for appetizers we had the Crispy Kale chaat and Eggplant sichuan - both went really good together! And for the entree we had the Jackfruit biryani, daal makhani side and compressed mattar paneer. UPDATE: After some time, Lee the general manager reached out to me and took my feedback seriously, even appreciating the negative review. Upon trying the restaurant on a non-holiday, we were able to enjoy ourselves how we originally hoped/expected. It was truly a 10/10 experience this time! I had made reservations for the bar experience weeks ago and was never informed that the dinner menu for the evening was only the Valentines Day menu which was $125 pp for just four small tastings of food. The food was only okay, certainly not worth the price. The portion sizes were also incredibly small, I left the restaurant hungry, upset, and $350 poorer (two people, 20% mandatory gratuity, and sales tax). I do not like to leave negative reviews, but I was just shocked after the good things I had heard from others. I would not go again after this experience.

Tapas dining bar. . Fantastic experience! We come here often and this time we tried the tapas bar. 6 courses( i would liken to a flight.) My daughter is a vegetarian and they had the entire meal to accommodate her. I, on the other hand, enjoyed each bite of tuna tartare, lamb, chicken and shrimp plates. Each one was better than the next. At first i was a little afraid that it would not be enough food and contemplated ordering naan, but after all was said and done, i was quite satiated, full in fact. We did not try any of the tapas drink specials, but ordered from their regular cocktail menu. It was finished off with passion fruit/coconut popsicles. IMO the best dessert they have. Service was great and everything was phenomenal, as usual. Besides their Fantasy Hour, this might be a new favorite.

I ve lived overseas before. In the Middle East, I fell in love with Indian cuisine! There are so many fine dining opportunities in the Middle East (Dubai, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi), and I guess I didn t know how much my heart missed all of that- the cultures combined, the flavors, the finery. Amrina was amazing! It brought back all the feelings of my best world experiences and packaged authentic Indian flavor into innovative, eclectic, modern, BEAUTIFUL dishes! Chef Jassi is pure genius with his menu and style! I was so transported that tears came to my eyes! I had to think later to understand why I cried over a dinner. From the moment you walk into the door: the textiles and murals, the furnishings, the staff, the flatware and dishes, the cuisine (the presentation was art, as were the flavors) . Nothing disappointed. Incredible and highly recommended! If you ve lived abroad and miss the finest experiences there, you must experience Amrina and reminisce! But, Amrina is very special in and of itself. You can feel a heartbeat in everything. Such beauty!! My one suggestion remains that the artist who did the murals would add her touches to the ladies restroom, so that even that utilitarian space would feel luxurious and match every other aspect of the establishment. Kudos to the creators of Amrina! Thank you for a lovely evening! I ll be back!!

I wanted to write a review the first time my wife and I tried this restaurant over Christmas break because we were absolutely floored by the entire experience in the best way possible. However, after experiencing the Chefs Table entitled What the Chef with Chef Jassi, it was imperative that I give this restaurant, its team, and its head chef their laurels. My wife and I are probably very similar to most people in the sense that we have our few places that we like to go out to eat at, but most of the time, we eat at home. The chefs table experience was brought up by our waitress the first time we dined at Amrina and so we convinced a couple of our good friends to join us. From beginning to end, the experience and customer service aspect of Amrina was second to none. We made the Chefs Table reservation a month and a half in advance for my birthday with Raul. Communication was professional, clear, and concise. He promised that our expectations will be blown out of the water, which I thought at the time seemed overly confident, but honestly looking back now, ended up being more prophetic. Everyone in our party, and I mean everyone, said the experience was absolutely incredible which is no small feat. Chef Jassi is the heartbeat, the leader, and the visionary behind Amrina. The chefs table puts you literally in the kitchen and all the behind-the-scenes action is right in front of your eyes. Not only do you get a taste of the delicious food they cook for you, but you also get a taste of what it is like to run a restaurant. Chef Jassi is your personal server for the night and he takes you on a journey throughout the night through his uniquely crafted individual courses which have to be seen to be believed and through his sense of humor and charisma when chatting about whatever you want to talk about. All in all, if you are a fan of Indian food, go. Honestly, if you are a fan of food, go. If you want a romantic date night or a night out with friends, do the chefs table. The experience is like no other. Amrina is a destination restaurant and further elevates the food scene in the Woodlands.

Very dissatisfied. We reserved for seats at the bar in January for Valentine s Day expecting to do the Tapas menu for $60 with wine pairing for $55 coming out to a total of $115 per person before gratuity and tax. We were not informed there would be a mandatory Valentine s Day tasting menu that was $125 per person without any drinks and a mandatory 20% gratuity. While the food tasted good it was not worth the price at all for the portions given. The service was rushed and we felt that we were rushed through our dinner service the entire time. One of our meat dishes came out well done which is unacceptable. Thankfully, we were finally able to catch a server s attention to get the dish remade at medium. Overall- the food and service were not worth the money. I had high hopes for this restaurant and I m extremely disappointed. My Valentine s so-called dinner and evening was ruined.

My husband and I are self proclaimed foodies, we travel once a month and it s mainly food focused. I apologize for the lengthy review. We made reservations on Christmas Eve for 8pm which was shortly confirmed by the hostess calling me a few hours after the reservation was booked. We arrived ~7:50pm there were two parties waiting to be sat. We totally understand, it s Christmas Eve, no big deal. 8:20pm rolls around and we re walked to a small 2 top in the back. A little disappointing because we typically like to explore the menu, ordering multiple dishes. I ordered a hanging out with you, the drink came hanging but was immediately removed from the hanger and the glass was placed on my table. Sad, because I really wanted to try that drink as I saw it on social media. The lady didn t ask if I wanted to keep it, she decided for me. I ended up asking for it back later. Moving on, we re met with our server, a nice gentleman - didn t catch his name but receipt says Raj. We began ordering appetizers.. our table had zero room for what we had planned. It wasn t until we ordered our 5th plate that the server asked if we wanted to move to a 4 top that had been empty the entire time we were there. He mentioned we walked in so they gave us a 2 top.. but no, we had reservations. Now for what s truly important, the food. We were blown away with the octopus, the chaat and the pork belly. An explosion of flavor that was mysterious yet made so much sense. The whiskey naan and presentation was on point. We recommend the essential tasting, I was in love with the berry sauce! My husband had the prime rib, I had the lamb shank. Both were perfect. We ordered a side of truffled mashed potatoes, I couldn t stop eating it. At the end, we had zero room for dessert. We asked to take an item off the Christmas menu to go, our server said he d bring us one now and one to go. We thought that was so nice, until we saw we were charged for both LOL. Above all, our experience was wonderful. We will be back again - I can t get my mind off of the exotic mushroom plate. Huge shout out to Chef Jassi Bindra for chatting with us throughout the meal and for his concern of my food allergy.

Being an Indian and a foodie, I researched this placed online and brought my fiancé here to try some well plated Indian/Panjabi food. Overall we were a fan, and we loved the place. Here are a couple of suggestions from me (chef wannabe). 1. There was literally no room left on the table after the entree was served. It is not easy to eat like that. Though it is your take on a new way of plating Indian food, I felt a little confused as to whether those dishes can be shared or does it come with bread. If the waiter could share a little more details about the above that will help a lot. 2. Food was super delicious, I feel something that the waiter forgot to mention is the bread pairing with the entrees we ordered. 3. The Lamb Chops were delicious, so was the malai kofta and its sauce. However, I felt an essential element of malai kofta was missing (it should melt in your mouth). Or maybe that s how my mom made it. 4. Last one, the Chaat, it was missing the crispy element, flavour was all there, however if you could add some crispiness to it, that will be a game changer

It was our first time at Amrina. We drove all the way from Katy,TX to celebrate our wedding anniversary there. An hour + drive one way was worth it. Great experience. Ambience was perfect and the service was fantastic too. Our server Raj was just excellent and he ensured we were comfortable all through. His recommendations were spot on and conversations with him were very pleasant. We have our parents along and it s not normally easy to please the Sr citizens who are from India in a Indian restaurant abroad, especially with food, but they also for a change liked almost everything we ordered. Overall great experience and we now would like to go there more often.

I would not recommend you come here to eat. There were just too many weird things throughout the whole night. Direct feedback- once it gets very busy in there, you can see the shift in capabilities from staff. The table was not properly set after our party sat down -silverware and napkins. Dont serve the fried eggplant in that bowl- it looks like you are serving dog food (no joke the whole party made the same comment). The pickled tasting plate- besides the carrot, that was a shockingly bad plate. Get rid of those spicy peppers- that is not something you should be presenting without warning (it can be mistaken as something else in low lighting and it will go unhappily eaten or uneaten due to being extremely spicy and end up as waste). The pickle tasting items were very hard and either hard to eat or shocking to the pallet. If someone is ordering a beef rib or lamb chop meal, consider providing a carbohydrate or salad to go with it that is an overpriced lamb chop experience for just two lab chops and no side. What is up with the oversized spoons??? You cannot serve a chutney with a spoon bigger than the bowl it came in. It will make a mess. Just weird experience. Great great music though. I would come here for drinks only (if they are not out of the wine you want to order) and sit outside away from noise.

We ordered lamb nachos, crispy chicken burger, the chaat with potato and crispy kale and wagyu Kulcha. While all food we had was delicious, I think out of these four we agreed that nachos were our least favorite but that might be because we waited a bit eating other things and cheese was already cold on them.. I did think the mince meat was a little too curry like.. still I ll totally eat more. For dessert we had pistachio one, can t remember what it was called and that was really good too. We both had coffee in the end and the total bill was not bad at all at $50 per head. We didn t have any drinks. I would absolutely love to go again and would recommend it strongly. Thank you for the great food and service. Parking: Park at the Westin and they said there is an elevator that comes down. They validate. Otherwise park in the two garages across the street and walk.

My girlfriend took the wheel and picked Amrina for my surprise 30th birthday dinner with my family. My family and I are huge foodies and have traveled everywhere from the Amalfi Coast to Port Elizabeth, South Africa and we ve had the privilege to try some very unique restaurants. Unlike these, Amrina proved to be way more than just a restaurant. From the moment we walked in to the final goodbyes before leaving, the team at Amrina worked diligently to provide a uniquely energetic and flavorful experience. Our server Raj where to even begin. There is exceptional customer service and then just above that, there is Raj. Not only did he take the lead in composing the perfect array of dishes for my foodie family, but he personalized the entire experience and ensured there was never a dull moment regarding both taste and ambiance. (If your reading this Raj Ooh ooh!) Come the end of the meal, Chef Jassi Bindra, came out to wish me happy birthday and thanked us for dining there. It was amazing to be able to meet the man that turned each and every dish we tried into a gastronomical piece of art. Chef Bindra, Raj, and the entire team truly made myself and my family feel extraordinarily special and I can t thank them enough for the memories we now have. I HIGHLY recommend Amrina for absolutely any occasion.

Awesome. We tried the tapas menu, and it was outstanding. They do a nice job of bringing molecular gastronomy to Indian street food. Familiar flavors, but new textures that brong things to the next level. While I enjoyed everything, the tuna chat bhel and anda curry were really next level. Plus, the staff is awesome. Theyre attentive and happy to give you a full story about the menu. Update 9/23: Been back twice since. Once for normal seating and second time for the tapas tasting again (which regularly changes up). The regular menu is very good, but I would expect more from something for this price range. However, the tapas was out of this world again. Plus, the people they have serving the tapas are fanstastic. Friendly and engaging. Almost changed my review to 4 stars due to regular menu, but the tapas is so incredible, keeping as is. Also, try the whiskey naan. While it may feel sacrilegious if youre a scotch aficionado, its incredible.

A phenomenal experience. Weve heard excellent things about Amrina for months, so we were excited for the meal. We took advantage of the Houston Restaurant Weeks Menu and Im so happy we made sure to do so, as the price point is higher than we typically like to spend. Now that we know its absolutely worth it, well be sure to keep it in mind for special occasions. The Chaat was so deeply flavored with surprising punches from the potatoes and a perfect crisp to the kale. The Tiger Prawns were HUGE and the two sauces they were served with were powerful in their own right. My husband preferred the pepper jam and I preferred the moilee espuma. We ordered the butter chicken and prawn curry for our main course. The prawn curry was rich and so smooth. The butter chicken was the star of the two. What stood out was its punch of heat that really awakened our taste buds. The garlic naan was crisp with a soft center and if Id had more of it, I wouldve scooped up every last drop the of the curry sauces with it. The dal Makhani was thick and full of flavor, too. We shared the Panna Cotta, a liquory flavored cool dessert that was a nice ending to a rich meal, and the Marsala Chai Marble Cake, an earthy and textured cake that I wouldve liked to let sit with the ice cream on top of to allow it to soak into the cake some. Alas, I had not the patience. Our server, Raj, was a delight, ready to make suggestions based on our preferences and dietary requirements, and explained the chefs vision as we were served each course. His team was also a pleasure. Our neighbors were celebrating a birthday and the sparkler celebration at dessert was truly beautiful and unique. Another huge plus for us, as non-drinkers, is that they offer 2 mocktails. The mango lemonade was thicker than I expected, more mango than lemonade, but fit the flavor level of the experience and Id order it again. My husband ordered the Shinkaji Mule : very light and spicy with a Fall flavor to it, as is right with a Mule. A wonderful experience in a beautiful location. Note: we parked in the hotel garage closest to the restaurant. Our server asked for our ticket and the validation covered our time in the garage. (ie. free parking)

Went for their fantasy hour (happy hour specials) for some small bites before an early event nearby. All the happy hour food and sides we ordered had good portion sizes. Great Yuzu French 75 cocktail too. The only weird part was the seating by the host staff. They had so many tables open (over 80% of the place), but we were asked to sit at the bar because we didn t have a reservation. I saw others sitting at the bar while they waited for their reservation to start and some folks just combined some tables themselves and sat down because there wasn t enough room at the bar. It s so strange to crowd people in one area while the restaurant is empty and stayed mostly empty for an hour with plenty of open day-of reservations online. Gave a bit of an unwelcoming you can t sit with us vibe, although the wait staff was nice. Vegetarian options: Jackfruit options

Just had the most fabulous dining experience at Amrina tonight! My only regret is not taking pictures..but there is always next time..because there will definitely be many next times after tonight! My husband and I started with the chicken meatballs and tiger prawns. The prawns were perfection and so huge and the sauce the meatballs were in was divine. For our main course I had the chicken with basmati rice and the whiskey naan..the chicken was perfect and dipping the naan in the sauce was like heaven. My husband had the A5 Miyazaki ribeye with mushroom caper sauce..he could cut it with his fork and said it was the best steak he had ever had. For dessert we shared the pistachio cake and the mango dessert. The flavors were so unique and paired perfectly together. We also tried many different cocktails throughout the evening. All presented beautifully and were so aromatic. Our server Jose was top notch..attentive, friendly, funny and informative. We hope to have him serve us again! Chef Jassi himself came by our table to say hello which was a nice touch. Wonderful experience! Gorgeous restaurant with excellent service and an amazing wine list. We started with the tuna tartare which was good but we found the salmon roe to be just a bit overpowering. I opted for a glass of an older Barolo that was drawn via Coravin ensuring the wine was fresh. For dinner we had the sea bass and lamb chops. The sea bass was perfectly cooked and placed on a bed of greens and surrounded by a coconut curry sauce. On the top was a foam that dramatically enhanced the flavor. It was wonderful. The lamb chops were even better. The sauce was the best Ive ever had and contained what I think were pieces of crispy eggplant that complimented it perfectly. We also had the wagyu kulcha, garlic naan, and yogurt which were all perfect. After dinner I selected one of their five Madeiras, a 2000 vintage, from the middle of the list. Overall a wonderful experience. We will be back soon and with guests!

Truly an amazing experience at this restaurant. The interior decor is nicely done, and is warm and inviting. When you sit down and the waitress unfolds the napkin for you, you already know theyre running at a higher level! It is an Indian inspired menu, traditional American fare served with a lot of Indian flavors. I wouldnt even call it fusion because thats not what it really is. The chef has taken a lot of time to think through layering flavors from different cuisines to make something that is truly original. We tried the appetizer chaat/salad and tiger prawns and ostrich shish kebabs. The chaat was exceptional. We were not a fan of the ostrich kebabs because it didnt have much of an Indian flavor or a grilled/char taste to it. For the mains we had bone in ribeye and jackfruit biryani to share between three people. The ribeye was tender and flavorful with Indian masala rub and the jackfruit biryani, which is a vegetarian option was amazing and delicious and I cannot put it into words. And for dessert we had the marble cake with a milk ice cream and a 30 year old port. I have no complaints about any of the cocktails or the food items that we ate. This is a place that you would want to bring a foodie or an out of town visitor for a really nice meal.

We visited Amrina for our first time to celebrate our anniversary. It is in a great location close to the waterway in The Woodlands. Great atmosphere with live music on the weekend. The service was exceptional and the food was great. The manager stopped by to chat and make sure the food and service were to our liking. I ate the Pan Seared Exotic Mushroom entree and my husband ordered the Roasted Broccoli Steak. We had the Habanero Laccha Bread as a side and the Coconut Panna Cotta for dessert. The food and drinks were exceptional as well as the service. They also sent over another dessert with chocolate and fire to help us celebrate our anniversary. So kind! Indian in name only and not a lot of Indian dishes food was excellent very condescending waiter and slow to bring the check. My wife said she was vegetarian and he said she should come back next week for the new steak menu beware the check !! Tips start at 20 %, 25 and 30% and they calculate on the bill including tax. Way overpriced . Will not be going back

If you love top rated Indian cuisine, but not everyone in your group does, this is your place. Their menu has both and with a variety of choices for everyone. Also a great place if you are trying Indian for the first time. While I love Indian dishes, my wife is not a fan, but she loved the Butter Chicken, Kale salad and naan. The place has one of the coolest vibes in the woodlands with a great bar to meet and mingle, and then dine without hearing the bar noise. Chef and staff are excellent and fun.

Kind of upscale restaurant; with live music and perfect atmosphere for romantic date. Service is very pinnacle but I must say veg options need a major ramping. Give a try u will like it Vegetarian options: Very limited veg options in menu be mindful of it Parking: Nice valet parking for $5 only. Feel like a king . But very convenient

Really great restaurant for both private function or business dinner. Above all - the quality of the food is great! I highly recommend the sea bass, the mushrooms, the jack fruit briyani, the avocado tuna tartar. The ambience is nice too - both the main area seating and the darker cozier one further back. Happy to return.

We had an amazing experience at this beautiful restaurant. The ambiance, service, and food were all perfect. They even brought us an extra dessert! It on the pricey side, but the experience matches the price.

We celebrated my wife birthday with my in family in this place and we were more than disappointed about food, service and prices. I ordered a rack of lamb and it came shredded ? whats the point put on the menu rack of lamb when they served shredded meat like ground beef, how we can be sure thats is rack of lamb, I know thats noted on the menu ? My daughter ordered the octopus and it was under cooked look like gummy... of course we never go ...I dont recommend this place the prices are too high and no related with the quality, of course we never go back.
