We paddled the swan up towards the mall. Was hot, but we did see the ducks and new construction up close. The rest of our group went kayaking on the lake side. They had nice photos of the sprinkler. It was very sunny and as hot as expected. Wish they had a ladder or grab handle on the swan dock for each swan or at least more than one available. The water smelled a bit going up by the mall. The canal management should consider a bit more aeration for that side, as it could use a bit more oxygen in the water. The paddle boat is fine, no worry about speeding as the paddles slipped every once in a while, but overall, it did make for a different Sunday outing! Fairly straightforward rental process and friendly people collecting your release paperwork and payment. The guys housting the kayaks seemed knowledgeable.

Highly recommend. Rented paddle boards for two hours and had a blast. Highly recommend you bring a cooler and sun screen. Otherwise its affordable fun and the employee were nice. Fyi bathroom is a 10 min walk away so be sure to ho before arrival time

Basically, the kindness of the staff is the only reason I didnt give a One-Star review. The life jackets were heavily mildewed, and the seats on the swans were not appropriately clean. I do, however, appreciate they dont overcharge for a bottled water!

They have a great selection of water craft and the view down the waterway is amazing. You re starting further away from the fountains and the Water Dragon but if you have a little cardio and arm strength you can make it. Unfortunately, the managers are rude and unhelpful. It s not the employees, it s the managers. Hopefully the Lake s Edge Boat House isn t closed for that long. It s still worth the money and would be 5-stars if not for the way they speak to the general public.

I had a wonderful time at Riva Row Boat House with some friends. The view of the luxury homes from the water was amazing. It was my first time kayaking. With the life jacket I felt safe even though I can t swim. I did it for 2 hours. It was definitely a workout for the arms. The view was serene. I highly recommend going!

Many watercraft choices to select from and great amenities. Perfect for all families. Unfortunately, staff wasnt helpful or friendly. There is no guide or assistance. At least a simple explanation would be great instead of keys being handed. The life jackets are spotted and smelly. Parking was fine, and seeing wildlife is always enjoyable. Not crowded for being a holiday weekend.

My sister and I went yesterday and it was very fun! It was our first time kayaking and we got a brief tutorial right before we went on and it was enough to get us to the open area of the lake and back. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and it was definitely an experience we d do again!

The experience was good. This place is at Woodlands waterways. The only limitations they have here is the restroom. They don t have restrooms or changing rooms. It gets really difficult to go far and wear swimsuit at gas station restrooms. The one available at this area was very far. I would not come here for 2nd time.

My kids and I went here last Saturday and a nice experience in the water, however when we returned, one of the staff members went to tie up the hydro bike which still had all of our stuff in the little bin on top, he stepped onto it with both feet on one side (by working there he should have known it would have flipped over) and the whole bike flipped over with my 13 yo son still standing there bc he had just gotten off of it while my daughter and we re putting our life vests away and as soon as I saw it happen I ran over there to make sure my son was ok and to turn the bike over to get our stuff out bc it was filling with water and had our phones and my brand new purse in it while the staff member who flipped it over stood there and do NOTHING and actually laughed about it so at this point I m trying to flip it back over and my son tries to help me and no one came over to help us so I had yell for someone to come help us flip this bike back over, we ll at this point all of our stuff was already soaking wet and one guy finally came over to help us and he NEVER even apologized while I had to sit ther for 45 minutes pulling all of our wet stuff out and my brand new purse was ruined bc even though I dried it out, the smell from the water is so awful I can t get it out. Not even a manager or anyone came to check on us or apologize for ruining our stuff. I was very disappointed in how they handled this situation. My kids who Never would want me to complain were saying mom you need to have them do something about that . Very poor negligence and let s not even mention the fact that when it happened, my son could have been very badly hurt by the way it happened when it flipped. I m absolutely appalled that they didn t even attempt to help us or apologize for their negligent actionsb

The swan was soaking wet on the seats, with 2 healthy young men playing on their cell phones, pretty sure you could equip them with some towels to wipe them down (3 minutes maybe?). Also, maybe a 20 yard stretch to row down, kinda lame.

I booked a trip for me and my wife for are anniversary on the 20th of November. It was raining and a thunderstorm was moving in right at the time we were scheduled for I called and asked if there was anything they do for bad weather far as rescheduling and was told if it s raining you can still go out if you would like. But if it s thunder we don t let people out. I don t know what I was expecting maybe I don t know. O yah that happens some times let me reschedule you. Or here are some other available time we have to day. Or hay we can not refund you but here is a gift card so you can book with use another time but none of that was offered. The person I talked to very much had the attitude of sucks to be you your sol. What I was looking for word to as a grate memory for me my wife and my 6 year old little girl just left me with a super bad taste in my mouth. 30$ lesson learned

Poor maintained equipment. Rented a swan for 2 adults and 2 kids. The first one we rode it was broken and just wouldn t move. We switch to a different one and then the steering stopped working halfway through the ride. We couldn t turn back or do anything. Ended up being assisted by a kind gentlemen that worked for TW township and walked back to turn in the keys. Asked for a refund (full or partial) but the teenagers working there said it wasn t possible. No supervisor, manager or even an adult here to speak too. Can t recommend at all.

Very dishonest place. The swan we rented was very slow to the point I thought it was broken. Other swans were blowing right past us at 10 times the speed with less effort. We were peddling hard and it was barely moving. It was terrible. I called Riva Row Boat House from the waterway informing them that our swan wasnt working properly and turned around to take it back. It was torture, The manager would not refund the $38 for 2 hours that I had paid. We had it for 30 excruciating minutes. He said he was aware that some swans were much slower than others. The difference between our swan and others passing us was night and day. I would not be complaining otherwise. Not acceptable! They dont care if you have a good experience or not. Very disappointing. I wouldve considered a gift card to come back instead of a refund, but the manager Ed was so arrogant and saw no wrong in this situation. I dont ever want to go back to there again. Consider yourself warned about swan #11 at least.

Im a very avid kayak fan. My fiancé, however? Turns out not so much. Ive been going since I was a child, but he just went for the first and last time of his life. It was HORRIBLE for him. He kept flipping over due to not being able to balance, and it just wasnt his thing. Which is okay! Fortunately, we contacted the boat house and they had Nathan come pick us up after we got so exhausted that we couldnt make it back to them on our own. Nathan definitely saved us just in time. Once we got to our car, we realized my sugar was way too low.

Great place for kayaking ! Have been here 4 times. Always rent tandem kayaks. Prices are reasonable. Not a great swimmer but feel safe in these kayaks and after wearing life vests After kayaking take shuttle ride through the park. Its very entertaining. Love this place for its easy parking and launch area. Have rented SUP boards and kayak in the past. This past visit we rented the hydro bike. The service was nice but the equipment could do with maintenance as it was difficult pedaling and seemed that the chain had some issues. Still like this place and great place to rent from. This is a great way to experience the Woodlands Waterway. They have swan boats, pedal boats, kayaks, and water bikes! Its always nice to ride down the waterway and people watch. Check in is easy I purchased and signed my waivers ahead of time online. The kayaks are allowed to go to a larger body of water so I ll try those next time. Parking is on the street and they have a lot across the street. Definitely stop here if you re in the area and bring the kids!!

I didn t have reservations but got a paddle swan boat after filling out the waivers In less than 5 minutes we were off after that we went to cold stone off 45 and when I got out the car, my boyfriend noticed that there was a bunch of black marks on the back of my pants and they came from the swan. I noticed black mark on the seat but when I rubbed my hand over them they didn t come off so I figured it was just normal ware and tear . It was not now I have a pair of blue jeans that I can t wear.

Beautiful place for a good row. This places offers a variety of things to do not only kayaking. It has pedal boats and swans as well great for families with little kids. I recommend that you reserve online or call ahead of time because they always sell out of everything. The only negative thing I have to say about this place is that their life vests are too old and they stink. So, I recommend that you take your own.

Riva Row Boat House is operated by crooks, thieves, con artists...you get the picture. I took my little granddaughter to ride the swan paddleboats and was told that they did not accept the credit card I tried to pay with. Next I tried to pay with cash and was told they didnt accept cash. Finally, paid with my debit card that I havent used in years. Since then, I have had 2 fraudulent charges on my bank account. This was a fun time, however the elliptical standing board is a bad design. DO NOT RENT IT. Before we even got ankle strapped a staff says to another arent the ellipticals all broken?. Had a gut feeling to pick something else but gave it a shot. 10 minutes later my left steer completely stopped working and I was at risk of not having control then crashing. Was also mislead on the reservation, had to get out an hour sooner than expected.

This was Definitely a Treat (We Rode the Swans)!!!! Something a little different to do on a Friday Night! It Provided for a Good Bit of Exercise Simultaneously with an Enjoyable Romantic Late Evening on the water in an intimate setting with the stars and Moonlit River as a Backdrop to Chart Ur Own Course! Music was even Provided as there was a Live Concert in Progress (at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, I Believe) as we Pedaled Our way Up and Down the River! Highly Recommend this one for a Night of Spice to break from the Mundane and Monotonous! Unfortunately, a couple of Caveats are that the seats arent adjustable (according to height, would be helpful) and Reservations are Required or at least HIGHLY Recommended as Booking fills up quickly (we booked 2 & 3 Months in Advance from Inception, that was the soonest available), so Spontaneity isnt much an option for this one! But Otherwise, It was Fun, Relatively Inexpensive and Well worth the Wait!

The view and the ride its self was nice but the staff were not helpful at all. They did not welcome us warmly. They did not escort us to the location where the swan boats were. They did not help us get in and get out of the boat. We weren t provided with any instructions on how to safely get in and get out of the boat. Beautiful manmade lake and overall a very fun experience for the whole family. Great experience for the whole family. Theres a nearby outdoors concert arena that often has concerts in the summer. A nice little park is walking distance with public bathrooms. The lake and boat house- preferrable make an online reservation first. You have a better chance of same day reservation that way. Rates are reasonable but difficult to add on time at the backend especially on weekends when its busy so make sure to buy extra. Lifejackets for adults and children are available. Swan boats and kayaks are well maintained. Very doable even for inexperienced folks. You figure it out quickly. I wish the lake was bigger so you could stay there longer

We came here for kayaking, but we happened on a memorial day service event that was awesome. It was a great time with the live music and the food options. Great space for family time event or no event. I definitely plan on coming back!

If I could give 0 I would happily place it this place is convenient however I paid a fee to rent a swan boat for my wife and kiddos. What I got was not as advertised I placed my Kayak in the water and was on the drift for a solid hour. Enter Mr. Chest thumper telling me I could not follow my family in my kayak. Woodlands area security is junk if you dont want other pwc in the swan boat area you should add some signs by your boat ramp...

nice place to do kayaking, if you are in woodland you should not miss kayaking here. They also offer family boat and few different type of water kayaks, you can definitely try any one of them based on your preference. We went up to the lake near to north shore park and came back with tandem double kayak. It was really great experience.

Easy check in. Easy access to swan boats. BUT our boat was EXTREMELY hard to paddle and thought maybe it was just the way they were till we saw people peddling with one person doing it, relaxed and bypassing is very quickly. It wasn t fun. It was miserable. Two adults and two little kids. Told one of the girls that was working when we got back that the boat seemed broken or paddles underneath may be missing and she was very dismissive. Ok. Thank you. was her response. Won t go back.
