The Amtrak station inside was pretty clean, and they had the A/C on so it was a cooled place to wait before boarding.

I have never taken a train trip, I asked the man at the counter about parking my vehicle for an upcoming multiday trip, he immediately had an attitude and rudely gave me an answer. It was the day after Christmas so maybe he was not happy...who knows. I am retired and still plan on taking Amtrak trips.

Dont understand the appeal. Its a smoke break stop and all four times in the last month Ive had just enough time to smoke a single cigarette and take one lousy picture of poorly maintained train history pieces. The staff has to know how bad they suck at this point. At least on this stop, the cafe car manager wasnt throwing snack packs at us to placate our anger at the beginning delay.

Well as for the Amtrak station its clean and very well maintained, and attached to the museum that used to be the old train station, its a sliver of its former glory taking up only a quarter of the building. Unfortunately make sure that you have change because the vending machines do not take credit or debit cards and its a good walk to the nearest convenience store.

The Temple Amtrak station isnt the grandest train stop youll see along the route of the Texas Eagle train. There are here, however, some ancient artifacts of trainage, the heritage of railroading in the United States. These artifacts are old hand cars, the things that travel upon tracts either by the efforts of riders or by an engine. Looking at these things will entertain a train passenger here for the few minutes he or see is allowed off the train.

All staff except the lady at the EL Paso entrance was nice. I was helping my handicap sister with her luggage, one got stuck and I asked the attendant for her help as she just looked at me struggle. She said she was not going to help me. And she was also very rude to me and my Ill sister. Horrible attitude and service!

There are examples of old rail carts at the Temple, Texas Amtrak Station. Our conductor said that they were from the 1930s era. They were really neat to see.

This is supposed to be a trip for little kids ages 3 and 4 ans upon arriving in temple tx the main building that houses xmas tree and gift area is closed due to an event? What kind of Place charges an exorbitant amount to have the kids play outside and then catch bus back to school. Really if this was planned then it should have been explained to children and schedule for another time. Its all about making money and not memories.

Compared to many other Amtrak stations the Temple location is quite nice in appearance. The building and grounds are maintained well. In front of the station are several old train engines and cars that you can actually climb on. If you are in the area stop by, its a nice place for pictures.
