The breakfast burrito tasted like it was cooked on a dirty grill. Ive visited several times, sparingly over the years and generally find theyre food not worth the money, its disappointing. Restaurant is conveniently located but thats where the pros for this place end. Employees are nice enough.

So disappointed i ordered 6 chimichanga for a Togo order. I dont know what I got but it wasnt what I ordered. I asked the lady that placed my order to table them cause we got 2 kinds. Than when we went up they didnt know who we were he had to verify that we called the right place. Than when we got back and saw what we got I called up there talked the manager Elizabeth who was rude as hell said thats what we make. Than when I asked which one was which cause they werent label she said I never lable we dont do that and I said the lady that took my order said she would. And after all that the food was not good. Hard on one end. Cheese was nasty. Dont ever eat here.

Ok, this first part is five years ago, I have an update at the end. This is my FAVORITE Mexican food restaurant, and yes that includes from Ft W t Austin, even that place in Mexia I like, I really prefer th Tres out n Morgans Point,not far from this one,but for personal reasons, the food is just as good/great here. You will enjoy it. What do I feel is a good indicator of a place w great Mexican food? When you see a lot of folks of Mexican ancestry eating there. O yeah ..Hi, that was 5 years ago, my son and I went back last week and ate here, still as fabulous or maybe better?? I repeat, I am a Texan, I am a Mexican food aficionado, no doubt yall, and I am a cook/chef. This food is superb..

This restaurant has amazing food! The salsa and tortillas are fantastic! I highly recommend giving it a try. There is a language barrier, but I got thru it. The tacos are a little pricy but worth it.

Food was good. Service was downright horrible. Waitress asked us how we were doing once and then we never saw her again. Finally ended up seeing her all the way across the resturant in the corner eating a meal not paying attention to us. After waiting a ridiculous amount of time to get our check we had to yell accross the resturant to someone else who wasnt our waitress to get our check. Our waitress didnt even bother coming to our table.

We were driving by and looking for a place to have breakfast. Read the reviews and decided to go in anyways, a little skeptical.. reviews said staff was rude and food wasn t good but from my experience. Staff was super nice, took very good care of us(five of us my wife, my three kids and I) food is great. We ve ate all over Central Texas.. and food is really good here. I ve personally loved the shrimp and fish soup. OMG it was so good.. we will definitely be back.. my kids got breakfast plates, waffles, pancakes ,bacon.. they usually have leftovers for me to finish.. there was none left this time..

Very disappointing place to eat. Food is greasy and substandard. Customer service and customer care are very weak. They charge a large percentage fee for credit card use, nearly 15% on $5 purchase. I am very upset with the service the food was amazing all waitresses did not know which table they were working nor did they know where the orders were going. Hit or miss, but when its bad its really bad. Me and my coworkers always order them because they are close, but this last time was a comically terrible experience. All of the orders were bad. Like they were lazily put together. 1 order was missing an item completely. The other included several things that were intentionally asked to be kept off and confirmed over the phone, and the last order (a breakfast burrito) albeit not freshly made was also just 80% cactus and 20% egg (missing the cheese and bacon). One of our employees felt strongly (because typically they have been better every other time) called them and asked if they could do something and they said theyd remake it. Then they caught an attitude with her when she went to pick up the replacement order, because she didnt bring the original orders (they were in the trash and the lady on the call didnt ask her to bring the food). Instead of replacing one of the orders they provided what was missing wrapped in aluminum foil, the other two were remade, but you could tell they were mad about it, so I gave mine away. Ever eat an old egg and (almost entirely) cactus burrito? Youre not going to be hungry for anything after that. The Mexican restaurants get so much better in killeen. Mistakes happen. I usually dont care, but my coworker didnt deserve to get treated like that, when she was conveying our collective sentiments. I dont recommend this place. Which sucks because there are two ladies working there who are actually very nice and I have had at least one very nice meal there in the past.

If I could give zero stars I would. My family and I been eating at the very first Tres Magueyes since I was little. This has always been a place that reminds me of home, but today that has changed. I recently ordered 3 tacos and they were made incorrectly. I called and the staff were nice about it and said to come and get them remade. I came to the drive thru around 3pm. The older lady that was working the drive thru was very rude, and treated me as if I was lying. She said that next time her staff needs to leave a note. HOW IS THAT THE CUSTOMERS FAULT!? She argued with me the whole time she took my order, and then had an attitude about giving me salsa. There was no consideration whatsoever. Disrespectfully y all lost a loyal customer!

The taquitos were amazing! Crispy with real mozzarella cheese, meat and herbs. The cheese enchiladas had real chedder and tasted delicious. They also accommodated my request for hot tea, which few places seem to have. I forgot to take a picture, but I definitely recommend Tres Magueyes!

1st off I just want to say when I do come to eat here I dont have a problem. But today as I sit here and leave this review I have to say I am disappointed at the fact that I could not eat bcuz of the chemical smells. Although the place is very well cleaned. I also want to note that when I got my plate of food I like to eat the so called salad which is on all plates. The lettuce and tomato they give next to the guac. I order the Mexican style plate bistec ranchero I thought my lettuce was bad cause of a weird taste but mind u the bistec has juices so it was in the salad and guac. But I just tried to ignore the taste but nope. So I called the lady over to tell her bcuz like I said I thought it was the lettuce. She began to tell me that it wasnt the lettuce because the lettuce was fresh and I told her well its something cuz it doesnt taste right its like a weird taste. So we talked about it she asked me if I wanted something else and I told her well no Ill just take off the lettuce and you know off of the plate and Ill eat it you know the rest of my plate well the more I was trying to dig into my meat the more I started to taste the taste that weird nasty taste so I was like its the freaking meat the meat was what was tasting that weird taste so the juices in the salad was from the meat and thats why I was nasty so I didnt eat it.

I wasnt too impressed. Im sorry, service was great. Maybe because we came around lunch but there were about four servers standing around when we came in and not a single one greeted us and there were about four or five dirty tables. With them standing around talking, youd think they couldve cleared some tables not doin anything. They dont offer fresh guac made in front of you, so I passed. Food came out quick and my quesadilla only had about a tablespoon of chicken... very chincey. Then charro beans were more like charro sausage & bacon... I had to dig for the beans bc it was mostly sausage & bacon. I spoke Spanish to the lady and said Te sin azúcar and she said tea... I said te sin azucar and I asked my wife how to say unsweet tea and she said the same thing... te sin azucar... just not a good experience. I wont be back.. chincey with meat... not pleasant.
