Im in Temple for work, and found this place for lunch. Now I was the only one sitting down to eat so I wasnt sure what rating to give the atmosphere. Since it was quiet and peaceful I gave it 5 stars. The food, The tater salad (potatoe salad) was top 3 Ive ever eaten in my life. Its mustard potatoes salad btw. The ribs were cooked just right , the meat wasnt falling off the bone which is what Im looking for , but very tender and came off with ease. Nice seasoning on them as well, if anything could of used a little more seasoning, but great ribs. The Brisket nice and tender and good flavor as well. The Chopped brisket sandwich is very good if your in the mood for more of sandwich type meal. I did like they have the option to sit outside in the shade or inside the building in the AC. Nice folks behind the window as well. I will be back if Im wanting some more bbq.

Didnt get to try the food. They werent actually open during posted buisness hours. 1:15 on a Friday. Call before you go. Multiple people walking around trying to figure out why no one was there. I guess you have to follow them on social media. No sign posted that they where closed.

I have been looking for a new bbq place in Temple since Als closed. I like old skool Central Texas bbq, and lets be honest, it is lacking in Bell County, as people are serving sub par meat w/ high prices for quite some time. My spouse and I are bbq snobs being Temple raised, and owning a home here, we need our bbq when we are in town. We tried Pustka on a whim today, and ohmygosh! It was amazing. The fellas who run the truck are super friendly and they know how to make some great brisket! We did the brisket sandwiches, and the minute it hit my tastebuds, it felt like home. Meat falls apart in your mouth, the rub is just right, not too lean, not too fatty,not too much sauce, sliced just right and smoked to perfection. They are doing it right and that brisket was just so amazing. Portions and prices are great and I am so happy we made this stop. It is just old skool from top to bottom, and it makes me so happy to see a place like this here again. My new bbq place in Bell County! my boss had gotten us some barbecue for lunch today and it was definitely a craving! We were brought brisket, brisket beans, sausage, & potato salad! It was top tier for my first time trying brisket beans and potato salad, I can say this has been on of the best dishes I ve ever had! not only was it fresh the brisket was filled with flavor & you could tell they cook it with love! If you are craving barbecue or even in the mood to try sometime different this is the place! they take time on every specific order and make sure it s fresh and too your liking! 10/10 I highly recommend this spot

Hey man, those guys, the uncle and nephew, theyre top-notch people. The uncle, hes a hell of a salesman. Good people, I tell ya. I had this barbecue lunch planned for my staff, and I needed to find a brisket. I just looked at the reviews on Google, and they matched the place perfectly. Great service, great food, and a great atmosphere. And Dustin, he managed to sell me a brisket even though I didnt give him the 24-hour notice. Thanks a lot, Dustin! You guys are the best. Ill definitely be coming back whenever I get a barbecue craving. Trust me, I know my barbecue, and these guys are the real deal. Ordered the 3 meat plate. Both sides were delicious (the elote and the potato salad),the ribs were delicious and the sausage was very good. Our brisket was a little chewy and dry and the portions were a little smaller than expected for the price. Service was wonderful and we received our order very quickly. All that being said I would definitely recommend trying. I look forward to coming back and giving the brisket another try.

One of the 2019 Texas Monthly interim top 25 cue joints-- and still worthy of a spot today! This was our 98th BBQ stop in Texas, and the 397th on a 35 state BBQ odyssey. $25.71 purchased a quarter pound of fatty brisket, a jalapeno cheddar sausage link, sides of elote (cold) and jalapeno apple coleslaw, with two refillable iced teas. Everything was top notch. The well-smoked brisket featured the classic central Texas rub, and was so buttery that you could cut it with a fork. The sausage was beautifully balanced, and both sides paired well with the meats; indeed, we judged the coleslaw a must do side. In sum, this is what we style destination cue. Just be sure to check their facebook page to guarantee that they will be opening as scheduled (they also cater). Parking: Gravel approach from the highway to a gravel parking lot.

A little oddly placed but -just WOW!!! The BBQ is right on! The brisket is amazing with a great rub,, complimentary of the really great tangy BBQ sauce. The sausage is yummy as well. WHAT is really turning my clock is the ridiculously delicious sides,,,, the Jalapeno and Apple cold slaw is worth fighting about. I wrangled me up some mighty fine grub brisket, pork ribs, potato salad, and brisket beans. And boy, howdy, was it a rodeo for the taste buds! The brisket, tender and smoky, had me hootin and hollerin with every bite. The pork ribs, they fell right off the bone like it was their first rodeo. And the potato salad? Well, it was smoother than a bull rider on a wild bronco. But let me tell ya, the real prize was them brisket beans, partner. A true stampede of flavors in every spoonful! Best bbq in Hutto, skip Southside and come here if you want good brisket. The jalapeño apple slaw is really good, I didn t use to like slaw until I tried theirs! It s very impressive what this family can do with a brisket. They ve mastered the art of Central Texas barbecue which is undeniably the premier regional barbecue worldwide. These dedicated chefs know the importance of utilizing clean post oak smoke, prime grade perfectly marbled brisket, and a consistent fire to yield what is, without a doubt, Temple s best barbecue. The family broke into the craft setting up their trailer in Hutto where they developed a dedicated following. The Temple-Belton area, however, was their true home and they graced locals here with a homecoming relocation. Hutto faithful still make the worthwhile drive for sacks of brisket, ribs, chicken and sausage and are warmly greeted by the amiable, eager-to-please Pustkas at their familiar trailer window. The trailer is now abutted by a spacious building accommodating indoor, climate controlled dining in addition to patio seating. The ambiance is classic Central Texas BBQ style! I m a pretty dedicated brisket guy, but these folks make what appears to be a phenomenal smoked/flattop-finished cheeseburger on Fridays that inevitably sells out no matter how many they prepare. One of these Fridays I ll get there early enough to snag one! Do yourself a favor and acquaint yourself to the best barbecue in town. You ll undoubtedly become one of the faithful.

I got the 1 meat plate that comes with two sides (street corn and potatoe salad). The brisket was extremely tender, seasoned and smoked perfectly and its even better with their bbq sauce that has a hint of sweetness followed up perfectly by cumin!! Perfect bbq sauce. The street corn is UNREAL!!! And finally the potato salad PERFECT, just the right amount of mustard. We will definitely be back. You can smell the smoked meats before you get out of the car. The guys running it were very friendly. They have some different offerings, such as jalapeño apple coleslaw and elote salad. We got both of these things and the flavors just elevated the entire meal. The meats were solid. As good, if not better, than alot of better known places Ive been to. The food has been devoured! I come from a family that bleeds bbq in and out of cook offs and wanting to try every decent plate I could find. I accidentally tripped over this place and mannnn I am so pleased! The brisket is cooked to perfection every part of it melts in your mouth. The T in Pustka Family Barbeque is silent, but Brisket speaks volumes. The brisket was so tender, the homemade sausage was made by the angels, and dont even get me started on the sauce. It is smooth, nice, and the perfect mixture for your taste buds. Located in downtown Hutto reasonably priced. Hurry down there before I go back and get some more.

Ordered a 1/2lb of brisket, 1/2lb turkey, 1/4lb of pork ribs, and a link. The Brisket had good bark and the flavor was solid. The sausage link and turkey was good too. The ribs however, were really dry and lacked flavor. I d come back again for brisket and turkey the next time I m in the area. The crew was friendly and the atmosphere was great for a nice day outside!

This is a gem! I had the brisket and was very impressed! This is a trailer just of the main street. Not much space bit they are turning out quality brisket. The other is the sauce. While the brisket does not require sauce the sauce is amazing! It would be great in anything, I wish they sold it separately. This is worth the drive from Austin

My family and I visited the Pustka trailer yesterday. The brisket sandwiches were good, and the short line moved quickly. The only miss was the iced tea, and the owners response. The three of us all agreed the iced tea was either old, the water used wasnt quite right, or the tea brewing or serving equipment may have not been rinsed completely after washing? It happens occasionally, we understand. I work in the hospitality industry, and fixing a drink concern is easy: you apologize, acknowledge the guest concern, and ask how to make it right. The owner (the younger gentleman?) said Ive sold three gallons of tea today without a complaint. FAIL. Then he allowed me to pay for replacement canned drinks. FAIL. Then he asked Where are you from?, as if someone not local wouldnt know how iced tea should be prepared. FAIL. When I told him DFW (my Sister and her family all live in Hutto), he nodded in an ah-ha way. FAIL. As a life long Texan I know iced tea. And I understand proper graciousness and courtesy a guest should receive. With a new BBQ restaurant coming to town from Elgin, I would hope Pustka works on their customer service skills. I try to always choose and support small business, even when I pay more to do so. My family is going to give the new BBQ company our business going forward. Making good iced tea isnt hard, and neither is good hospitality.

Just a few blocks off 79 in Hutto, this unassuming BBQ trailer hits the spot. Brisket and sausage were both delicious. Got one slab (thick 1/3 LB slice) of brisket and one link of sausage. Not sure if thick brisket slices are the trend now, but Ive seen it at several places lately. I prefer the thinner slices, but both taste great. Being a trailer, the un-shaded outdoor picnic bench seating simply doesnt work for most people familiar with Texas summers. Pro tip: Get it to go.

So all my Hutto neighbors have been raving about this place. So me and the girlfriend decided to try this place today. Wanted to try a little bit of everything so we got a half a pound of each of the meats and a single of each of the sides. Brisket was fantastic moisten tender turkey was great with just the hint of smoke sausage tasted excellent like other people have said the ribs were a little leaner but still very tender. The sides were excellent The mustard potato salad and the jalapeno apple coleslaw is a very different take on the typical sides. Took the boredom out of eating sides. Highly recommend to all of my Taylor Round Rock and Pflugerville residents definitely worth the drive. But go early they are only open Monday through Saturday from 11 to 4 or until they sell out.

Found this gem at a Party in the Park in Hutto. They were only serving sandwiches that day so I went with the Prime Burger and a Brisket Sandwich. It was so good I went back to the food trailer the next day and got a pound of brisket for my friends in San Marcos. I put their brisket up there with Franklin BBQ. Ive eaten at most of the Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ joints and I can see why they are on the list for 2019. Friendly staff, great food, reasonable prices. You get what you pay. If you want cheap bbq go to Bill Millers. If you want great bbq go to Pustkas Family BBQ.

BBQ was ok. Cost was a bit higher than what i would normally pay. Their brisket is touted as prime on the menu. I was a bit surprised when they asked moist or lean considering the fat content and marbeling of a prime brisket. The outside had a slight crunch factor and well smoked and no smoke ring as the meat was dark throughout. (See picture) Palatability is ok with no sauce, not a good and not bad. It is improved with their sauce. Lastly i was surprised at what was given to me as a pound of brisket. Seemed as bit less than what I have been served at other establishments. I was given 4 thick slices perhaps the scale needs to be recalibrated or maybe weighed with pickles and onions. $23.50 plus tax for a full pound.
