What an amazing place for special occasions! The atmosphere, the service, and the food are all exceptional! I can heartily recommend dining here as often as you can! I do not enjoy seafood, but the fish was incredibly delicious! The chocolate bread pudding was pit of this world!!!

Ive only been here a few times but each time I was so impressed, the service is excellent, the atmosphere & the food is pretty awesome! It seems a little hidden where it could be overlooked so if you havent noticed it or tried it I highly recommend it! Its like a hidden treasure in Sugarland between Williams Trace and Dairy Ashford on the east side of the 69 feeder!

We had a great experience on a Tuesday night. We were greeted by Fernando himself and then Juan did an excellent job the whole night with exemplary service. We started out with the Ceviche which was delicious. Then for dinner I had the El Jefe and the steak was grilled to perfection and was so very tender. My wife had Paella and she loved it. The Chocolate Bread Pudding was fantastic as well. Parking: Plenty of parking out front and on the side of the restaurant.

This is the worst restaurant service I have ever experienced, and I had been a waiter for about 6 years of my life so trust me when I say, I was heated. For the 2 hours I was there I got about 30 min of service. The waiter rarely checked up on us and kept us waiting to order anything, it took one hour just to get our food which is also way overpriced for their okay quality and super small portions, I finished eating in about 7 minutes. Then afterwards, for my father in laws birthday they had us waiting forever for their surprise. They took so long to then come out with the cake WE brought! Like what took so long, and this also came with disco lights and the birthday song being sung by Marilyn Monroe and in place of saying to you it would say Happy Birthday Sexy like what?! Is this not a formal place for a gathering. And then the Manager or Owner poured himself a shot with my father in law, this place would be perfect for Kitchen Nightmares.

We visited this restaurant for the first time about 19 years ago when live music used to played on weekends , moving forward .. We just visited last night and their food is as great as it has always been , the quality of their food and service remains consistent and exceptional. We have RV traveled the 50 States and for me the food in this Restaurant is in the top 3 , for my wife is #1. Heres to many more enjoyable visits in the future!

Loved everything about this place. Don t leave here without trying the ceviche which pairs well with the plantain ribbons served with a delicious creamy guacamole sauce. wedge or salad special, Jefe steak unless you are really hungry (they have a good variety of larger cuts) and the Carne Asada is nice and lean. The asparagus (bright and tasty) and fried plantains (just the right balance of crispness outside, moist and hot inside) complemented the entree well. The hot Colombian coffee poured from a large silver pitcher with small steamy cream pitchers arrived to our table perfectly timed to accompany our shared tres leches with crispy sweet topping (like crème brûlée), moist rich chocolate cake and my favorite key lime pie. The aroma of the fresh mint garnish was enough to keep me awake after a long busy work week and a scrumptiously delicious six star dinner. The owner was welcoming, pleasant and gracious enough to pose for a pic on our way out. We will be back & if you haven t yet you must try this place soon! Vegetarian options: I didn t notice the sides listed on the menu, however steak dishes came with sides I wouldn t be surprised that if you call ahead or ask, they would make a vegetarian plate for you however this is a steak house with a variety of seafood dishes as well Dietary restrictions: I m making new health habits by eating lean and green which was possible here with minor alterations. I asked for the dressing on the side and ate around the carrots and black beans (high carbs). Everything else was doable. Parking: We arrived early and were able to park close to the entrance. There is a nice stone and gravel walkway across the esplanade (within the parking lot) between the greenery and a medium sized patio in front with parking that wraps around the building. Kid-friendliness: There were not any children that I could see. If I had children I would think they might be board since we stayed for 2 hrs enjoying each course and the easy listening music and dim lighting.

I really wanted to like this place! My husband and I did not have a reservation and that was ok as there were many tables available. As soon as we walked in we felt a weird vibe from the manager or owner, not sure because he wouldn t tell me his name. The waiter was somewhat helpful and our food came in a timely matter. The food was ok though. As a new customer you would think that the service would be superb but unfortunately it wasn t for us. I can X this place off my list.

I had the pleasure of enjoying an absolutely delicious dinner experience with my family at Fernandos. The reason I call it an experience is because Fernando himself is usually the first to greet you. His quick wit and gracious attitude is only matched by his desire to make everyones dining experience 5-Stars, and he always delivers. My wife had the fish. It was lightly breaded and pan-fried to perfection. I tried some, and it was not only moist but tasted great. We both loved it. The kids had the chicken Alfredo. Of course they did. Its the closest thing to Mac and cheese. Lol. I had the filet. It was cooked exactly like I asked. Its super juicy and even more flavorful. It came with lightly grilled asparagus and buttery mashed potatoes. We all had different deserts. Everyone enjoyed them. I must comment on the tres leches. Hands down the best Ive ever had. It was the best 18 years ago when I had it for the first time, and it still is today. Thank you, Fernando, for such a delicious dinner!

The ambiance is wonderful. The tables are far enough away for privacy. The wait staff is superb. Fernando comes to the tables, serving water and engaging in conversations. Fernandos is a Latin American steakhouse along Hwy. 59 that has some of the best steaks in Sugar Land. Since its little known, I thought Id answer a few concerns from diners. ATMOSPHERE: Fernandos can be the perfect place for a romantic date night or just a get out of the house dinner. Very easy to get to and park. No traffic or parking headaches. The restaurant is darkened at night, service is relax but attentive, and diners are mostly refine and quiet. Lots of wood throughout the restaurant. Very soft 60-70s style music in the background. Owner Fernando, helps in the kitchen and can be seen serving diners as well. Very friendly personality and if hes not busy hell have a conversation with each table. Dining room and restrooms are very clean. CLIENTELE: Dress code has a wide range. Weve seen men in coat/tie, shirt/slacks, and others wearing jeans and sneakers. Personally, Id say business casual and leave the sneakers at home. Women dress varies as well. Nice jeans, skirts, dresses. Diners range in age. There are older couples who are regulars and younger couples who are celebrating a special day. We usually dont see many children, but were usually dining on weeknights. Some ask if Fernandos is appropriate for children. That all depends. Keep in mind, the actions of your children are a reflection on you as a parent. If your child can sit still and keep his/her voice low then theyll fit in. Hell, of all the years of dining weve seen more adults who are more obnoxious than any child. There are family celebrations at Fernandos just like any other restaurant. Just keep the kids from running around the tables and disturbing other diners. If they can do this, then Im sure theyll be ok at Fernandos. Either way, Id call them just to make sure they have something for your child to eat. FOOD: Steaks here are the best and weve been to Perrys and Churrascos. The beef filet is consistently tender and I can literally cut it with my fork. Lamb chops are good too. They also have seafood and pasta dishes, but we alway opt for the steak or lamb chops. No ala carte ordering is required at Fernandos. We always get the special salad before our entree. Its fresh and served on a chilled plate. This past trip we ordered key lime pie for dessert. The pie was very good, but the whip cream was to die for. This isnt your typical cool whip/reddi whip stuff. The whip cream was dense and had just enough sweetness to blend well with the key lime pie. Regardless what a few negative posts say, Fernandos prices are not more than Perrys. Our El Hefe beef tenderloin came with potatoes and veggie was $38. We always spend less than what we spend at Perrys. One final thing that needs to be mentioned. The waitstaff at Fernandos allow you to eat at a slower pace. This is normal for them and should not be consider poor service. You sit down and the waiter brings you the drink menu. Your drink comes out along with some plantain chips. They allow you to enjoy your drink and chips before bringing you the dinner menu. This happens all the time to us and it actually makes your dining experience more relaxed. Its so much better than these restaurants who want to push you to order and eat quickly. If you order a salad they actually wait for you to finish eating your salad before bringing out your entree. Again, a slower pace. They also allow you to eat your entree before asking you about dessert. Finally, theyll ask if you want to have after diner drinks or coffee before bringing out your bill. Like I said, its a slower pace dining compared to every other restaurant in Sugar Land. So, if youre in a rush you might want to stick with Longhorn or Saltgrass. Enjoy your experience either way!

Went here for our anniversary dinner last night. Food and service was top notch with great Latin flavors. The dessert, however, could ve been better. The chocolate cake tasted like something I d buy from a grocery story - very dry and the cheesecake was also mediocre. Definitely recommend for the food and service though! A slower paced environment where servers aren t constantly breathing down your neck to get you in and out - very relaxing and calm environment to enjoy a nice quiet dinner.

Great price for the amazing experience and quality of the food. Also excellent service. I spent my birthday dinner and the do a little show for you, very nice actually! We ordered crawfish soup and fried shrimp as appetizers but when I say it tasted good, it was actually heaven. Main dishes were chicken with pasta and a crawfish pasta (AMAZING) not a fan of the bitterness of the wine used to top the chicken but really great place. Fernando s has a nice ambiance, but that was about it. For an expensive restaurant like this, you expect a certain level of service and experience. When we sat down, it took forever for waiters to come take our drink orders, and when we asked any questions, they wouldn t know the answer at all. The drinks were atrocious, I ordered a whiskey sour and others ordered old fashions, all of which were poorly made. The food did taste good, however, for the price, the quality and quantity wasn t there at all. Not even joking, I actually went to In-N-Out because I was still hungry after we left. Another thing to keep in mind, which we weren t told, you get charged extra for the free plantain chips if you ask for more and they charged a liquor tax. Overall, my experience wasn t great and I don t recommend going there. Response to the owner: Not once did I bring up the price being too expensive, and for you to lay out our bill on a public site is childish. It wasn t specified ever that the plantain chips were extra. And thank you for breaking the rules by seating us early in your restaurant which was pretty empty. With regards to my 10 oz steak which I had, it was definitely much smaller than 10 oz, and please don t hit me with the 10 oz before it s cooked because I understand that. My mom got the 6 oz steak and it looked almost the exact same size as that one, yet we were charged double the price. And to let you know, we were having a good time because we spent time with family and friends.

My fiancé and I somehow managed to be the only people there, but the experience was truly memorable. We we were celebrating our anniversary and the owner treated us like family. Our night ended with us out on the dance floor after an amazing steak dinner. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Excellent everything! Great food, great service, decent prices for fine dining. Gorgeously decorated! And kudos for actually playing fine dining music. Great latin food. We had the Ecuadorian fish, and salads, and cheesecake and cappuccinos. All excellent. Only got pics of the salad unfortunately.

I only came here for someone else s meet-and-greet style party where dinner appetizers were served, but the food was DELICIOUS. It was my first time eating chicken marsala, and I sincerely hope that all other chicken marsalas at other establishments taste as good. The pasta was also EXCELLENT. The restaurant was clean, and the service was decent too. I d definitely come back & try a sit down meal too.

I have recently found this SL gem and plan on making it a regular. I have been there with my wife, with business clients and with guests......all saying that the food is excellent, the service personal, the prices very reasonable and the management very involved. I highly recommend Fernandos for a superb dining experience. Plan on spending a while here and savor the delicious entrees and side dishes, the desserts and the great wine list, which is very reasonable. Ask Fernando for a surprise and I assure you that he will come through in fine fashion. I dine out at all of the best locations in the area with clients and will put Fernandos up against any of them. We went for a celebratory dinner. The main dining room has a beautiful elegance with its rich wood paneling, soft lighting and pre-set tables, ready to welcome you! Slow, romantic music played in the background - Etta James At Last, for one. I peeked in one of the play rooms and saw a mic set up, so thats pretty nice. Another room was cozier - it had a big table set up for an intimate meal. The bar area was set off to the side, divided by the wine section for, I assume, a more lively crowd. There were few diners as we had an early dinner. There were complimentary fried plantain strips with a creamy, garlicky sauce (or aioli?).We shared the trio sampler and they were so kind to serve it already split. It didnt look split, more like two orders of a nicely presented appetizer. I had my heart set on paella, to bring back lovely memories of our visit to Valencia. The chef came out and listened to me discussing with our waiter. I said I didnt want a heavy meat and thought paella would be perfect. He said with a roll of his eyes toward heaven that the corvina was so, so, very good. I was torn. The chef said with a wave of his hand to not worry, he would do something. He came out with a plate of a smaller serving of paella and a good-sized piece of lightly battered corvina glazed with a semi-translucent sauce. A little salsa and a piece of fried plantain added the perfect touch! The fish was very tender and moist and the sauce just gave it that delicate, extra burst of flavor! The paella had more seafood and meats in it than I had in Valencia - mussels, shrimp, little scallops, clams, fish, tiny crawfish (or langostino?), sausage and chicken! Together, the corvina and paella made for a great combination. I was very happy! My husbands steak, the Al Hendershot, was not thick, but it was big. He likes a steak with flavor (like a ribeye). When he took a bite and went, Mm-m-m, I knew he was happy. It came with a side of toasted garlic bread slices. We shared a dessert that, again, was served separately in a lovely way. There was an added surprise! They knew it was a special night for us. Fernandos was a late dining decision, so a certain name did not make it to the restaurants signage by the feeder of the freeway, where they welcome special celebrants. As the chef brought out dessert, something unexpected happened - it took us quite by surprise! It was a very delightful surprise. I dont want to ruin it for any of you future celebrants, but it involves colored lights and music! It was very quick. Other diners clapped and the evening was complete! The chef is very sociable and mingled with diners. I motioned him over and asked if he was Fernando. He coyly responded with a smile that he could be. We may have to bring others here when theres reason to celebrate, just to see their happy reactions.

I love Fernandos! Dad is a regular here. When he asked where I wanted to go for my birthday, this was it. Last time I ordered the beef tenderloin which was stellar. This time I ordered the Ecuadorian white fish in a lemon butter sauce. To die for. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We eat here every year for our anniversary. The staff are fun and friendly, attentive and respective. The dim lighting and soft music is romantic. Its never been crowded when were there and while thats surprising, its also great!

Took the family here for my sons birthday dinner. All food was excellent, including steaks, fish, chicken and lamb chop. Service was also great. Staff is really nice and very accommodating. Prices are reasonable for the quality that you receive. We had a good time and I can really recommend Fernandos for special occasions or just a nice meal!

Our favorite restaurant. They have a wonderful fish we drive 25 miles to have. Fernando is gracious, Jose is the best waiter and they play soft background music so you can actually hear your sweetheart talking. We drive from out in Ft Bend to Sugar Land to eat there.

How often do you get a chance to have a meal that is worthy of a Michelin Star? If you get a chance to visit Fernandos while in Houston you will know why this establishment is miles above the otherr choices in Sugarland. We were surprised to find from our waiter (Juanito) tjat tthe ownerr was our waiter. This restaurant should be a destination. Great job
