Beautiful park right along the Brazos river. This year with the rain, the grass is especially green. Well-kept gravel and paved paths for a walk or run. Self-service kayaks are available for some extra fun. It is also a great place to watch the birds for nature enthusiasts. The proximity to the river and the general geographic location of the Houston area brings plenty of migratory birds twice a year. Close by there are bike paths and hiking trails through the forest belt that borders the Brazos river. Bug spray highly recommended otherwise the mosquitoes will make a feast out of you this summer. Safe area for families with children as there is plenty of space for kids to play, while you enjoy a picnic with family and friends. The park also includes zip-line activities and a playground. But if you are just looking for a quiet place to relax and unwind, this is a lovely park to do just that as well.

Maybe my review is biased since a lot of the dirt trails were closed, but it seems like most of the trail system is just a concrete sidewalk accompanying the road thru the park. How unexciting is that? Granted, I did see a deer, but still. The veterans memorial was nice however as was the peek at the Brazos near the dog park.

Back to edit my review in year 2024. The water is Back! Very nice. Trail around the pond-lake in this season is enjoyable. The water is drying, no lakes as shown in previous years! Its hot in summer so I dont like running along the trails here. A kids playground at entrance next to the Pavillion is good enough.

This is the only dog park we go to these days. We went most recently on Christmas Day and it was clean, quiet, and had a handful of dogs for mine to play with. There is a dog wash (hose and links) station outside of the gate. Be careful if your dog cant swim - there is a pretty steep drop off that caught my dog by surprise and she knows how to swim.

I recently visited Sugar Land Memorial Park and was thoroughly impressed with the facilities. The park is spread across 150 acres and features 2.5 miles of walking and biking trails that offer scenic views of the Brazos River 1. The park is open from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM on weekdays and till 8:00 PM on weekends 1. The park is well-maintained and has a lot of amenities to offer. There are benches throughout the circular trail surrounding the lake and a small gated off playground for the kids 2. The lake in the park is surrounded by a walking trail, and one side is where the pavilion, bathrooms, and playground are. The other side of the lake is wet marshland. There is a sign posted up to beware of alligators. There is actually a stone alligator near the pavilion and lake 2. Overall, I had a great experience at Sugar Land Memorial Park and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and scenic place to spend some time outdoors.

In the heart of Sugar Land, Texas, Memorial Park stands as a serene retreat, offering an array of features to suit diverse interests. Nestled within its grounds lies a peaceful pond, glistening as the centerpiece of this tranquil sanctuary. This idyllic water body enhances the parks charm, inviting visitors to its banks for moments of quiet contemplation or leisurely strolls along its edge. Families gather near the pond, enjoying the harmonious blend of natures beauty and the parks offerings. Amongst the parks amenities, the playground echoes with the laughter of children, while a single bathroom ensures convenience for all. Adorned with poignant memorial benches, the landscape pays homage to cherished memories. A dedicated dog park fosters furry friendships and joyful interactions, while a solemn monument honors veterans valor and sacrifice. The pavilion serves as a sheltered space for community gatherings, complementing the tranquil fishing spots that entice anglers along the waters serene perimeter. Winding through this picturesque haven, a meandering walking trail encourages visitors to immerse themselves in the parks natural splendor. Memorial Park, with its tranquil pond at its heart, not only honors the past but also fosters unity, appreciation for life, and a deep connection to the serenity of nature.

My of My! This place left a bad taste in my mouth, which is funny because I didnt eat here. I was there for a concert. It was the one with Mary J Blidge, And Summer Walker. Well from pulling in the service was horrible. None of the workers knew what was going on. They had the tickets at a particular location and I had to drive around several times to find the spot. Anyway, it went downhill from there, the VIP section was another mystery to find. The ground was like walking on marsh land. Then the police had the nerve to actually block cellphone signals and prevent people rides from coming in to pick you up. They were making people walk out to the main road. After explaining that I was disabled and would not be able to wake that day my ride was finally allowed to come in. I even heard from people that they lied about the VIP parking glad I didnt pay for that. All I can say is they dont have to worry about me attending another festival there.
