I found this place for my disabled veteran brother as he is trying to heal from cancer and wasnt quite ready to go back home after being at the veterans hospital for 5 months, thought I made a good choice but this place is absolutely horrific, please do your due diligence, and choose any other facility! I would not want my worst enemy here

The place is horrible. They are very disorganized. The lady called Jeanette that runs the MDS dept have no clue on what shes doing. She keeps interfering in the nursing dept. Most of the people in administration are clueless. This Jeanette arranges with other vendors to sign up your loved one services that she will never have,Such as arranging Hospice to come and sign up your love one without your consent or your loved one consent. They signed my Mother up for iv vitamin infusion, but it was never administered. They used up her most of her Medicare days and my mother ended up with pneumonia while staying in that facility. I will not refer a dog to that facility. They are horrible.

Excellent customer service. Excellent new management team, especially the adminstataror Mr. Eric and and DON Ms. Agnes. They both go above and beyond their duties to fulfill the needs of the residents. Dedicated staff with helping residents in all aspects of care. Pulmonary and Rehab team very hardworking and dedicated to residents care. Warm, pleasant and professional staff. Big state of the art resident rooms. Its definitely the #1 choice for rehab and ventilator care in Houston.

Early November the second week of 2023, I was informed to go home for the night from receptionist Danielle and the Director James will call you. I exhausted all of the options with Dr. Nissan from St. Luke Hospital when he was disrespectful to me the whole time when he wanted to speak to LVN Joseph this person had the RN to cover up for him when he was sitting at the nursing station on the computer while I was being ignored speaking directly to him. It s not in my job description to get up from the receptionist area. Receptionist Danielle said the doctors are always right. Danielle said on the same day in the evening and when I was suppose to begin my work shift the doctors are the funders of the nursing home. I was trained and worked but was not paid. I still have the punch form and I have called a couple of times to speak to James the director at the nursing home. Danielle the receptionist admitted to feeling guilty of lying to people who phone call the nursing home for Director James when his in the office because he gives Danielle a look or either walks out of his office to notify Danielle to do so that he has gone out for the day. Receptionist Danielle and Director James are friends so it s understandable that she does what Director James tells her to do. A person Sam lied that answered the phone call but there are two receptionist that work at the nursing home because Zee founded another job. Before I was hired by Director James I said hello he looked at me mean and proceeded to his work and the receptionist Danielle had ask him to hire me because he did not want to but when I got hired his demeanor changed to being kind. Receptionist Danielle said she and Director James have nothing against me.Director James still has not phone-called me.

These people retaliated against my loved one. We are allowed to stay nights with the patients and when coming up to the facility. Door bell was rang, we called, knocked the door, and stayed around for two hours! We even called other sister properties to check if they can get a hold of them and they had no success. So the next morning we told them the events that occurred the night before and they promised that it didn t happen. We have phone call records and such. My loved one wasn t even there for a full week and insurance approved a month of therapy. They called the next day and told us we have to pick up our loved one.

Very disappointed. Its alarming how unresponsive the nursing team is. My dad had surgery requiring assistance to shower and go to the bathroom (hibts why he is there for rehab). Hes asked for a shower several times and was simply told we will get to you when we can. Ive called asking that they bath him (daily) with no results. Its now day 5 (same clothes, same everything). Management does not care. No returned calls and no response. I am in another state and will be there next week. Its going to be a uncomfortable situation while I file formal complaints. Do not put your loved ones in this awful place. Im looking to have him transferred.

My good friend went in with slight leg edema issue and she could talk, walk, play piano, discuss what she or we did the day before as we visited her daily and within 8 days in that filthy neglectful place she was in the hospital with a horrific head injury and bruises all over her head, arms and legs. They took her walker away because she walked too much (according to the assistant nurse director) and they took her only safety away! When I asked administrator Marty for an incident report she and the assistant nurse director literally ignored me. Then called the police on me even though I was legally there and am my friends POA. They literally called me a perpetrator in front of their employees. When I asked the assistant nurse director for her name (and I had my friend s granddaughter who is a doctor up north on the phone and literally witnessed everything I went through) she refused to give me her name! A medical person- a director that is supposed to be transparent refused to give us her name! When I told them I am her legal POA they also called APS on me! I gave all the info that was asked of me to APS. Absolutely nothing to hide! They refused to honor a legal document that my friends attorney drew up! My friend has whispered to me before her accident there that they scared her and dare not ask them for anything. We are in a nightmare with these people! There administrator Marty does not return calls ever! This facility should be closed down! They act like they are bullies on a playground! My friend is drugged, intimidated by them, and now after her really bad head injury and bruises (due to their direct negligence for safety first) they are trying to claim she has dementia to not provide an incident report to me!! Do not take anybody to that place!! They will drug you, neglect you and then claim you have dementia!!!

If I could give them zero star it could have been better, This company is a scam and bully, please be careful if you want to work for them, they do not value their staffs not even their patients, I was hired here 6 months ago no proper introduction to the administration or familiar to the staffs or facility, Admin hired me and called me for paperwork, the second day they had no idea where my paperwork was, I went back to fill up another paperwork and told me to come in for orientation the following week which I went, I was not able to punch in yet because everything was a mess, I was told to fill out miss punch which I did I gave it to this current admin, Don and Adon was in the office with her and it was signed by Don, admin told me I should hold on the orientation for now because they were short of patient she would call me back to resume fully and told me I would be pay for my orientation which was 12 hours 6am to 6 pm , since then I haven t been paid up till now , I called severally , receptionist will transfer my call to the admin she would hangoff the call , I drove than there 2 times and I was told I will receive my pay the same week. Till now nothing have been done, I wasted my day , my sweet and my gas. You people have no human feeling. So disappointed this is happening here.

The management here is awful! There is no communication between administration and nursing staff! There is no training, no company orientation, no staff appreciation! Marty, Administrator, Udana, ADON, Balijah, DON are bullies! You try to tell them what is right they laugh in your face! They keep supplies locked up so that you can not get them to use for the residents! There is no urgency to fix ongoing problems. They talk to staff like everyone is beneath them and They cannot figure out why they have a hard time getting people to work! This Admin team is very revengeful and petty! When they hired the new DON they did not have the decency to introduce her and she did not bother to introduce herself to anyone! There have been no staff meetings! As staff there are so many things that has not been communicated the goals as a nursing staff, the goals for facility! I can list so many things! The only reason I have remained here is because I am trying to make a difference to our new nurses and our residents! I am being retaliated against, disrespected, and treated badly as a result! The admin team came down the hall the other day to attack me because I informed them that my assignment is unsafe! When I informed them of the problems Marty told me you have 15 patients! My reply was, I have 15 patients that require nursing care these patients are not assistant living patients! There are vents, tracheostomies, oxygen, breathing treatments, g tubes, wounds, psychiatric patients! They do not follow written guidelines or company policy or procedures! I can go on and on but I won t just know if employees are unhappy at work the care has the potential to follow! Check on your love ones! And whatever you do; don t treat them the way they treat us!

Meds were given at their convenience not according to schedule. Soiled diapers were not changed. I had to search staff down continuously for assistance. He left there with a bad rash. Due to Covid restrictions family members are not allowed to visit their loved ones and this facility has taken full advantage of this restriction to use as a vacation from work while at work. On several occasions my aunt requested assistance by pressing the call button and it would take over 15 minutes for someone to respond, the nurse would enter the room turn off the call button and let her know they would return shortly but then would not return for over an hour and a half to address her need. Another instance my aunt wanted to get up from the bed and sit in the chair, the nurses were bothered by having to assist her but did. When they placed her in the chair one of the nurses was messing with the buttons to the electric chair my aunt was seated in. My aunt asked her to stop because she was feeling her bottom starting to slide off of the chair and the nurse told her that she was fine and wouldn t fall, my aunt slid down to the floor. She remained on the floor for a while, the nurse told her that they didn t have anyone on the shift that could help to get her up and that she would have to stay there until next shift came in but about 15 minutes later she was helped off the floor. On another occasion my aunt was having trouble breathing, she pressed the call button several times and no one came to assist her. She used her cell phone to call her daughter to let her know she needed help and that no one was help. Her daughter called the front desk several times with no answer from anyone on staff. She finally had to call Sugar Land Police Department to go to the facility to do a well check on my aunt. Upon entry of the facility the officer was told they could not enter but staff would go check on my aunt. The police officer called back and told us to follow up with my aunt because she couldn t believe they would not allow her to enter and didn t feel assured they would get to my aunt right away. The nurse did go check on my aunt and told her that is she needed something to push the call button and stop calling her daughter. My aunt explained to her that she had pushed the call button several times and no one would come, the nurse asked her to show her exactly how she was pushing the button so my aunt motioned how she was pressing and she told my aunt oh look at you, aren t you smart. But once a nurse moved the call button out of reach for her so she couldn t call anyone even if she needed to. My aunt called her daughter and told her she had to get her out of this facility, or they were going to kill her there, soon after we tried to get her released and the facility director would not allow us to pick her up. We contacted the ambulance transporter that takes her to dialysis to let him know that we would be meeting him at the dialysis center to pick up my aunt. He said he was very glad to hear from us because he couldn t believe how my aunts health had deteriorated since she was admitted, and he would wait until we arrived to pick her up. This was the first time we had seen my aunt in a while, and she looked absolutely horrible! We could not believe that from the time she left the hospital to this point she looked so weak and sick. She was sent to this location to help to strengthen her to bring her home to enjoy her family a bit longer and not to cut her time even shorter. Once the facility was called to request my aunt be discharged the internal pharmacy called the family to verify what medications my aunt should be on. My aunt passed away on 08/04/2020 she was a very sick woman and we knew that she was living on borrowed time. She had been in and out of the hospital way to many times to remember and had been admitted to The Medical Resort of Sugar Land at least 2 other times we are in no way blaming the facility for her death but we know she would have been with us for a longer amount of time had they done their part to get her out of bed to strengthen her legs, or so she wouldn t have had the horrible bed sores she did. So much more......

UPDATE: MY ORIGINAL POST WAS DELETED SO I AM REPOSTING My aunt is at this facility and it is probably the worst decision we could of made to have her moved there. The staff from my opinion is horrible. My family and I have called numerous numerous times to get in touch with someone abt my aunt s care and we either get no answer, phone rings and rings or someone will answer and transfer u to someone who doesn t help. Try to talk to management or leave message for them and they never call back. My aunt used to be able to communicate by txt message and occasionally a brief phone call but now there is no communication. I have been paying for mins on her phone to recently finding out that they supposedly lost her phone in LAUNDRY, I reported this and no one ever has bothered to to fix the problem knowing she is in there all alone and has no way to talk to her family now. So I show up yesterday to only to see her through the window of her room, initially finding the correct room was a chore. I go to the window where the room is dark no lights on and a nurse comes to the window to ask who I was I tell her I am her niece and cld she please let her know I am here, she walks over to her bed to wake her and walks out. I m outside waving to her and can t really make out if she can see me or not, so I call the receptionist bk to get her to tell the nurse to turn the light on so I can see my aunt(commeon sense tells u why wldnt u had left the light on anyways it being dark in there). When I get to see her I noticed she is completely uncovered in the chest area , now I mind u there is me which no one knows me from Adam but I m standing out here looking in to see my aunt indisposed, nurses walk in - 2 of them, NEVER BOTHER TO COVER HER UP. One comes over to me and I ask him to let her know I am there please , he says she is asleep , I tell him I drove 4 hours to come see my aunt , he says u aren t on the list..... what list!!!!we never signed a so called list!! My aunt is trying to move her hands which they have covered in gauze to try and pull her gown up that she subconsciously feels is exposed, btw she is laying there as if she is sedated because if she knew I was there u would know it! They never helped her cover herself up, just turned and left. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE IF U WANT THEM TO GET BETTER . WE ARE IN PROCESS OF TRYING TO GET HER OUT OF THERE. THIS IS A HORRIBLE PLACE OF SO CALLED CARE!!!!

This place is pathetic. Unqualified staff. Claim NO ONE is in charge. Left bloody bandages & debris. In 4 days my mother s sheets were never changed. No washcloths/towels in bathroom. Her IV leaked; they moved it 3 times Blood & medicine running down her arm. Used another bloody gauze to wipe it off. Last person can t call him nurse because they had to get someone from another floor to show/teach him how to put in an IV. When she turned on her call light for help, she had to wait 20-30 minutes for anyone to come. Switchboard never answered phone-32 rings then 26 then disconnected. Finally got through & asked them to check on my 91 year old mother who wasn t answering her phone for 2 hours. Receptionist said they would call me back not. Instructions on medicine dispensation was incorrect. Told her twice she had to stay another day; then not; then yes. There was NO ONE in authority over the facility. No one they said for another 2 days. OMG What a nightmare!

I have been at MRS the last two weeks and it was a very productive stay. The wound care nurse named Valerie, did an awesome job of taking care of my foot wound. She went above and beyond taking care of my wound and the skin on my feet. It really made a difference. The food that was served in the dining room was outstanding for a medical facility, they were very accommodating to me providing me with the proteins I needed. It tasted soooo good!

DONT PUT YOUR LOVED ONES IN THIS FACILITY!! I REPEAT DONT PUT YOUR LOVED ONES IN THIS FACILITY!!!!!!! The nurses are glorified med givers and dont even do that right. Patients call lights are left on for hours. When they finally answer call light your told I will back and never come back. CNAs or Aides are just as bad or worse. They argue with you when you ask for something for your loved one and they said they took care of it when in fact they never did. My mother was placed here on hospice care. The staff has no clue how to care for hospice patients or any critical care patients. The staff has no compassion at all. Their communication skills are terrible. Most of them dont understand or comprehend English or they pretend they dont. The state needs to do a surprise visit on this facility. Trust me I will be reporting them to the city, county and state.

Not recommended to take care of your loved ones. Very bad experience with the administration as they have no compassion to work with patients and families and will send you packing when they are ready. They are by law to help you relocate but they offered no help at all. They just say you have to leave with your patient/family member or we will send them somewhere. This is against the law and they had to be called to tell them so. I m not sure how they can stay in business with treating people this way. The owners need to really take a look at their personnel that they have hired to run this facility.

I was transferred to this facility at age 54 after an extended hospital stay for acute necrotizing pancreatitis. Im more than a little surprised at the negative reviews. I was a patient here for many months and I was treated great. I became friends with others, including some who were bedridden, and I was pleasantly surprised at the high level of direct care provided to everyone. If I ever require this type of care again, I will choose the Medical Resort at Sugar Land. Its often not easy to see a loved one require care away from home. I remember when her doctor decided that my grandmother required around the clock supervision at a skilled nursing facility. I was only 17 years old and I took out my frustration on the staff of the nursing home where she was placed. The more I came to know the staff and see how they treated my grandmother, I realized she was where she needed to be. I highly recommend the Mdical Resort at Sugar Land!

My wife was admitted to The Medical Resort at Sugarland in January 2019 for treatment of an infection and wound. I have kept her there since January as they have an excellent staff for treating wounds. I plan to keep her there until the wound is fully healed. The nursing/medical staff is excellent, staying on top of my wifes various maladies. They are very good at listening to any concerns I may have and responding to them in a timely fashion. Likewise if they note something of concern they bring it to my attention. They do great job of facilitating wheelchair transport to doctor appointments. The accommodations are first rate - the food, while repetitive is very good, and prepared from scratch. The facility is new and is pleasant to be in. My wife is wheel chair bound - the staff providing the personal care does their work in a professional way and are considerate of my wifes condition. The best endorsement I can make is that we have been there for almost five month and plan to stay until I feel my wife can be safely moved to an assisted living facility.

The staff there took VERY good care of my mom and she really enjoyed her stay. When ever there was an issue of concern I would bring it up to the staff and the issue was resolved that day. I know that when a loved one has an accident or suffers an illness it can be very stressful for the family. I know that when discharge comes around from the hospital its crunch time to find a place to put them. The therapist are great, however; the staff is not so great. This place is under-staffed, and can use some restructuring. The other staff is very unorganized, and unprofessional at times. There is always some drama going on with the CNAs bickering amongst each other. it takes them too long to tend to the patients. It already takes them too long to respond to the call button, and when they do show up, the response is I will be right back which is 1 1/2 hours later. These are elderly patients, and this is unacceptable! Upper management needs some training as well. Upon the patient arrival, the staff is all in your face as if they are soooo nice and caring and after that fake mess is over, then you find out how it really is around there. A mess, unorganized, unprofessional, and not attentive to the patients as they should be. Taking 2 hours to come see about an elderly patient is unacceptable!!!!

However, the lack of communication between staff members and staff and patient/family members is worse than terrible. There is basically no communication and they dont seem to keep good records of anything. Lots of telling us one thing and not following through on it. Lots of Ill check on that and then nothing. Lots of not knowing what medications they actually gave our family member. Most of the CNAs and NPs and MDs just dont really seem to care! We were constantly having to advocate for our family member - every single day - to get her any attention. For three and a half months! Exhausting. There probably isnt any place like this that is very good, and we have no other experience but with the Medical Resort SL, but this place was not good.

The building and interior of building is nice and the staff seems friendly enough but after taking a closers look I soon discovered the truth. My mother has been rushed from Med Resort back to hospital twice all because the staff is more concerned about socializing in hall than attending to clients. Ive had to make two abuse complains, a cnas ran into the back of my mothers heel with wheel chair resulting in a blood blisters and yes my mother is a diabetic. The list just keep going. Ive wanted to remove her but honestly good nursing facilities are hard to find and caring compassionate nursing staff is even harder. This place is the best that HELL has to offer. Theyve lost several items of my clothes in the laundry, and the kitchen is very inconsistent in both the quality of the food and keeping common items that they list in their menu (such as hash browns and waffles as examples) in supply. For the prices that they charge they should never be out of stock of anything that is listed in their own menu. If you try to complain about anything you soon find out it is impossible to talk to anybody in management!

We expected more aggressive therapy. When questioned about it the therapist became defensive and rude. She told my mom she didnt trust her anymore. The nursing staff moved at a snails pace. When pain meds were requested the first time they took two hours to fill. At one time she was offered more medication than prescribed, fortunately she recognized the error. Once a blood pressure medication was omitted. The weekend staff were impatient but the weekday staff were more professional and caring.
