Another great local spot to get your sushi fix in, went to OBA Japanese Cuisine, and this was a great place. we ordered multiple Sushi Rolls, Miso Soup, Tempura, and Sushi Pizza, yes that is correct Sushi Pizza. overall all the items we ordered were just perfect, very flavorful, and fresh. the restaurant has a great ambiance, has a very cozy feel to it. overall great experience.

Had an amazing experience at OBA! Excellent service and Delicious fresh Sushi at a great price. We got the OBA platter for 2 (Chefs Choice). It was alot of fun trying the different items. Also the best Eel Sushi i have ever had! Cant wait to go back and try more things from the menu.

Place has calming and mellow interiors. Service is quick and kind. The roll and tartare were fresh and clean. Tonkotsu ramen and nabeyaki udon are surprisingly traditionally-tasting instead of the usual flavor-bomb most ramen shops go for. Once again, fresh and clean ingredients. Reasonably priced. Will come again for other menu items.

This was a cozy little spot that we didnt even know was so close to us. We found it on Google so we decided to try it. The restaurant was small, cozy and very clean. All of the tables were full when we arrived so that was a good sign. The Waitress was attentive and service was fast. The food itself had a nice presentation and was tasty and filling. Also, the portions were definitely more than enough.

A small restaurant located in a strip mall with other restaurants and an Asian supermarket beside it. There is a big public parking lot in front of the restaurant. During my visit, there was only one server in the restaurant managing a few tables. However the server was patient, friendly, and fast. I ordered spider man rolls, pork katsu bento, Chirashi bowl, and pork curry rice. The spider man rolls were ok. The pork katsu bento had plenty of food. However, the vegetable tempura, pork, spring roll, and gyoza were refried. The pork wasn t fresh. The batter used to fry the vegetable tempura didn t taste good. The slices of sashimi in the Chirashi bowl were not the freshest but still edible. The pork curry rice wasn t good. The curry was diluted, flavorless, and the color was wrong. Overall the food was not up to standard. I will not be back.

This place was WONDERFUL! I went for dinner with my mom and her and I had a great time. The rolls were decently priced, the happy hour was from noon to 10pm, and the quality was fantastic. The service was amazing, and our server was very attentive to our needs the entire time. I got the cowboy roll, which was savory and delicious! My mom got the pink lady, which was very fresh. The gyoza tasted wonderful, our miso soup was tasty, and the oreo tempura dessert was a nice way to close out our meal. Overall, I would 100% recommend this place. The staff were wonderful and friendly, and I loved every second of my meal here!

This place is fairly crowded with American and Cantonese customers. It s run by a Cantonese couple. The boss lady was very nice and friendly but she doesn t seem to understand the torched salmon request. In overall, I had a good experience but I recommend the Katsu over the Sushi. 1. Chicken Katsu 5/5 Favorite! I will definitely come back for this. The sauce was too little and make sure to request for more sauce! 2. Sushi Pizza 4/5 This is a unique dish from the restaurant as I haven t seen it elsewhere. (I could be wrong). I like it when it s hot, so make sure to eat it when it s served. Happy Hour Sushi: I don t remember what we ordered but they were just OK in my opinion. One very unfortunate drawback was that the wasabi does not have the kick at all. I ate so much of them and couldn t feel the slightest sensation with the wasabi that I specially requested for more).

Ive come here a few times now and I can finally say...I LOVE THIS PLACE! The waitress is SO pleasant and kind, catering to my baby! I order the curry katsu (pork or chicken is great!) Tamago Salad which has a nice presentation and the textures and taste of tomago and avocado are amazing! Their Ramen is also good and not too salty! Also the sushi pizza is crispy and delicious! I honestly cant get enough of this place and if I had money I would eat here everyday!

nice neighborhood sushi joint, in a neighborhood with lots of sushi choices. sashimi was extremely fresh, service was nice. Not the cheapest spot in the area but the quality of the sashimi seems to make it worth it. we had an issue when it came time to pay the bill, the system was down, i stepped out to go to the ATM machine and when I came back 10 mins later the bill was settled. they brought my wife a tablet with non English characters and a 18% tip built in with no way of adjusting. highly irregular we probably wont be coming back with tips already baked in and no way of adjusting. just to much choice out there.

We just got off work and I didnt feel like cooking. My husband wanted ramen and I wanted sushi, so we thought we would give Oba a try. We had the Gyoza and salad to start. It was very yummy and the salad dressing is the bomb ! The Tonkotsu broth is full of flavor, the pork was so tender and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I ordered the Sushi Pizza! I had to, we own a Pizzeria! Lol! First of all it was HUGE! It has so many layers of flavor, freshness, crunch and texture. I cant wait to order this again! Sam made our food, he is a true artist. His attention to detail is mesmerizing. While youre watching him prepare your food, you get the sense, that not only is the food fantastic, its a next level experience. Vivian served us, she was so sweet, very attentive and accommodating. Being restaurant owners ourselves we were very pleased with both the food and the service. A pleasant side note: the bathroom is very clean and the whole place is spotless! The feel of this quaint little family owned restaurant is definitely worth going back to. Man, I am craving that Sushi Pizza while I am writing this! Lol!

I was craving sushi and looked at several menus in the area. Obas menu stood out cause it has sushi pizza and creamy garlic udon. Ive been here a couple times in the past and dont remember seeing those items, but I might be wrong. Anyway, I decided to give the sushi pizza a try and also ordered my usual favorites. Yall let me just say that sushi pizza is A++. The crust is crispy, crunchy, and has a delightful chewiness (I know it sounds weird but trust me on this one). Im pretty sure its made out of rice cause it has a distinctive rice cracker taste. Bottom line, give it a try. The other items I ordered were standard sushi fare, and it was what I expected. I appreciate that my items were packaged together where possible; keep the Earth green! All employees were very friendly when I went to pick up my order. Im hoping to give the creamy garlic udon a try next time!

Cant believe I just only found out about this restaurant. Oba has been opened for 6 years and the decor in this location is very quaint and reminiscent of sushi restaurants in Japan. Beautifully flowing warm colors help ground the mood as you enjoy the delicious super white tuna. You need to try the South American roll. The creaminess of the crab couples so well with the smoothness of the mangoes sweetness. Highly recommend. If you get the Scallops then you should do Sushi and chopped Scallops with spicy sauce. This slaps. Fun fact about the chef: His name is Sham (Sam). He worked and lived in Puerto Rico for 20+ years so he is fluent in Spanish. If you only hear him speak you would think he is latino.

Delicious as always! We tried for the first time the Boston roll (lobster and shrimp). Its a small restaurant, great service and very cozy. They just updated their menu and each sushi roll is a new surprise. We also really like the tiger roll and Los Angeles. thank you chef Sam for all the nice plates and delicious sushi rolls. Small and quiet, good for when you dont want all the noise and club music that some places have, Ive always had good service, clean table, reasonable prices, fresh sushi, nice presentation, drink is always refilled promptly... I dont like giant rolls of sushi stuffed with rice. They make rolls with a thin layer of rice and fresh ingredients inside. The nebayaki udon is my daughters favorite. (Good flavor and simple ingredients in a clear broth. ) The sunset crater with seared scallops on top is my favorite.

The food was great, the service timely and friendly, and the presentation was beautiful. My family lives in Japan for 3 years, so we have high expectations sometimes. The ramen was fairly authentic and was even more delicious with the chili they give you! The bento box was a GREAT price for what you got (like $9.95 for what you see in the pic!) And it was all tasty. Our server was friendly too(: I would only say its a bit small so maybe dont come here with a lot of people. Otherwise, do it!!

I went to this restaurant for my first time after reading so many good reviews, but I am so disappointed at the end. The restaurant decoration and service are great, but the food is below standard. We ordered a few items from the menu. The seafood tempura entree is fine for the price. However, the sushi is small in size, like half size when compare to others. Edamame and Hamachi Kama are over-cooked. Baked mussel is cold with way more mayo sauce than mussel. Unfortunately, this restaurant are not recommended.

I don t know about you but I love me some good sushi! Especially when it s happy hour! Iha has been a staple of mine to visit whenever I had lived in Missouri City. It s located in Sugarland so it s close by. It s a small mom and pop shop. Only a few booths and sushi bar. I like it that way. It s not overwhelmingly crowded. Usually only one server and one sushi chef whenever I m there. It s literally like always happy hour! Can t beat that. I love my spice roll, shaggy dog and baked mussels. I felt a littler adventurous and ordered the scallops sashimi. That was really tasty and refreshing. Nice crips taste to it. My friend got an assortment of nigiris (sushi pieces) those were yum as well especially the spicy chopped scallops! It s been awhile since I ve been back but totally worth the drive!

Went for the first time with my friends this past weekend and I was blown away! The food was so beautiful and delicious, I was not expecting it. Prices were reasonable for the amazing quality. Definitely recommend the curry katsu. It was like the REAL DEAL. None of the bland ugly flat stuff you get elsewhere. It looked and tasted like a professional high quality chef made it. It even had a variety of unique pickles to accompany the dish. AND it was only $14 WITH a delicious salad and miso soup. I don t usually write reviews but I had to for this place!

I thought that this place was great for sushi and their lunch special / happy hour was very affordable. Outside of that, their normal menu has all of the typical rolls your expect and their own unique rolls that are delicious. The only down side was that they did not have a license to serve alcohol as of yet despite having it on their menus.

While the food is good, the service here is not good at all. I use to go all the time and the service was the best I ever had, BUT that past 4 times I ve gone it s was bad. The staff sat there behind the counter just staring at my fiancé and I. It was extremely uncomfortable. The prices went up recently and they lost their alcohol license. This use to be a usual spot for us but now we can t enjoy it with out being stared at and given attitude.
