We arrived just before 5pm and were the only customers. We were sat on the dingy side of the restaurant (it was dingy even for an old house atmosphere). The white linen tables and ambiance lighting was on the other side of the restaurant. We were thankful for the cool air as it is extremely hot outside right now. I guess the ac was not working properly as there was temporary ac setup in the room adding to the poor atmosphere. The charcuterie was ok, nothing great. We went with the expectation of having chicken fried steak. They were out. I ordered the filet with a side of risotto, my husband ordered the braised short rib also with a side of risotto. Our meat was extremely salty, almost inedible. Our waiter really should have advised us one risotto would be enough to share. There is no way, a person could eat an entire order of risotto as a side. Overall, for the experience and what we received, it was way overpriced. I don t mind paying for a good meal but this was not good. I hope when you reopen things will be different.

I absolutely loved this place !! If you want a place where the little ones are free to run around (and are safe during so if you know what I mean ) , and for you to still feel nice and cool come join the butler house family. I love this place the staff are amazing, the managers will always do what s needed to make you happy and comfortable. The servers are always so kind and willing to do what s needed to please you and your family. The cooks have godly hands and will always cook you the best food/ meal for you. This restaurant is always aesthetically pleasing and with a beautiful history added to it. For a date night I recommend the main dining room with the booths when it gets dark a candle is turned on and it s so relaxing and romantic I love it! The butler house is a beautiful restaurant that has become family Kid-friendliness: I recommend the covered / in closed patio the little ones are free to run around. There s tables close to the windows so you can keep an eye on them and watch them play!! The indorse patio is HUGE and always nice and cool. I love bringing my family around and watching the little ones play while still enjoying TV and the outside. Wheelchair accessibility: The host will always be willing to open the doors for you when you come in and leave. There s a ramp and no hard bumps that may bother someone with a wheelchair or any disability. The parking lot spaces are at the front of the restaurant for easy access. I love a restaurant that s inclusive

Great experience. Butternut squash bisque was really good and the green beans almondine was excellent. I had the filet which was so tender and seasoned well with the delicious brandy peppercorn cream sauce that comes with it. My husband had the Malbec braised short rib and it was absolutely amazing. Excellent old fashioned with a variety of boubons to choose from and a great expresso martini. Great service with Ernie as well.

My children took me yesterday for Mother s Day. The food on the buffet was awful! Burned broccoli, pork chops that were cooked so hard, I was unable to cut, much less chew. The lettuce in the salad was extremely soggy, mashed potatoes had absolutely no taste, I could go on and on. The charge was $70 per and I apologized profusely to my children because I was who suggested this is where they would take me. Won t ever make this mistake again.

My kids took me there for Mothers Day dinner. After the host sat us, we waited for 10 minutes. No waiter showed up. Then a person passed by took all the empty glasses that was on the table figuring he might come back with water. NOPE! We wanted another 5 mins, still no one showed up. So we decided to get up and leave. As we were about to get in the car, the manager cane out and tried to convince us to come back in Again, NOPE! I would NOT recommend this place!!!

As longtime locals and regulars of the Butler House, were extremely disappointed with the recent decline in service. Despite being loyal customers, weve encountered significant issues with the patio area, which used to be a highlight of our visits, especially for our 2 year old son who loves playing outside and needs to be supervised. The managements explanation of climate control preventing the opening of patio doors is something new, as weve never experienced this problem before. What is the point of having and outdoor/indoor area? If you don t want to be outside then sit inside. Unfortunately, after enduring this inconvenience for several weeks, weve decided to take our business elsewhere. Its disheartening to see the decline in service at a once-beloved establishment.

We used to love this place, but not any longer. Our favorite part of this place was the outdoor patio where your kids could play. They no longer allow the doors to be open until the sun is down, which means were not able to interact with our two-year-old who wants to play in the outside area, unless we go sit in the sun. If your guests want to sit inside where its controlled with ac, then please go sit inside where its controlled with AC. Dont sit in the patio section.

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. The restaurant was not full, maybe half of the tables were occupied yet we were told the kitchen was very backed up and took 20 minutes just to get bread. When we did get our dishes, one was salty and the other was bland. Both were a complete disappointment. The service was also very inattentive, to the point where we almost left initially. Will definitely not be going back here.

First Visit to Butler House, Wow..... Had the opportunity to visit this restaurant a few days ago, based on a Google search or restaurants near me + Expresso Martini! To say my family and I were impressed would be an understatement. 5 Star experience! Our Server, Brandon R. Was not only very knowledgeable about the menu, but made excellent recommendations to my wife , son and I, all of which were 100% on point ! The atmosphere was so relaxing, the food recommendations absolutely delicious, and Deserts, Dang, the Deserts .. will astound You! We had the Chimichurri Burger, Lobster Ravioli, Salad and Steak, Balsamic Brussel Sprouts, and finished with the Bread Pudding and Flourless Chocolate Cake for Desert. Any words I write wouldnt do the Dinner and Dessert, as well as the presentation, justice so will only encourage You to stop by and ask for Brandon R. (Best server and service we have had in a significant time, truly embodies the ideal of Customer Service) .... Let Brandon walk You through the menu for a meal and atmosphere You will truly appreciate and enjoy. We all like to have fun and party but your being disrespectful when we have asked nicely to keep music at a level contained to your enviroment .

The Butler House old menu had a ribeye steak for $55 but has increased to $75 The service was not that good considering their highfalutin prices. We had the pleasure of dining at The Butler House tonight and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately put us at ease. The decor was elegant yet cozy, with dim lighting that created an intimate ambiance. But we opted to dine on the patio on this beautiful clear cool evening. As for the food, my filet was simply outstanding as was my gal pal s ribeye. Cooked to perfection and seasoned to perfection, it was juicy, flavorful, and tender. I could tell that the chef took great care in selecting the best cuts of meat and preparing them with precision. In addition to the steak, the sides were equally impressive. The baked potato was loaded with all the fixings, and the sautéed spinach was cooked to perfection as well. The wine selection was also noteworthy, with an extensive list of fine wines to choose from. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who were knowledgeable about the menu and eager to make recommendations. Our server was friendly and professional, making us feel right at home. Overall, I highly recommend The Butler House restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Most of the kitchen staff had already left but we were assured that the chef would make sure we had what we wanted. Cocktails were great and the food was phenomenal. I ordered the filet with mashed potatoes and the filet was probably the best that I had ever eaten. All in all a great place to eat with wonderful staff. UPDATE: We decided to stop in for brunch and it was just as good as the dinner. The steak and egg platter I had was delicious and elevated from the standard preparation of this dish. Their pancakes are amazing. Super thick and fluffy and flavorful. I was not a huge fan of the Seafood Pasta but everything else about this place is perfect. It is a great area for families because it has a turf yard for kids to run around and let out energy while the adults get to enjoy great food and each other. The only concern is that there are stairs to a balcony area that are a bit dangerous for little ones. And naturally, thats the first place they want to go. I suggest maybe a small simple gate if that does not interfere with the wait staff. Loved this place and will be back.

Chicken pamesan tasted like they used crawfish seasoning it was awful. Pesto pasta chicken was all noodles almost no pesto sauce or chicken. Their steak looked like something served in a low bid school cafeteria. Service took almost an hour. Drinks were good. Recommendations: go for drinks only. Find another restaurant with good food as this one is high priced awful.

When my wife and I arrived a bit before 8PM on a weekday evening, we noticed only two other diners in the restaurant. And now I know why. This place simply is not all that good, and absolutely NOT worth the price. Both of our steaks were extremely overcooked. A filet ordered medium rare came out medium well or beyond, and the tenderloin ordered medium was clearly well done. If youre going to serve a $50 steak, learn how to cook it! To be fair, I should note that the waiter offered to have the steaks re-cooked, but we declined. Mashed potatoes were dry and not hot. The starter and dessert were good, but not good enough to overcome this failure of a meal. Our waiter was polite and efficient, which is the only reason Im giving a two-star rating. I wish I had paid more attention to other negative reviews in advance. Outback or Longhorn would have served a far better steak and overall experience.

I love the idea of butler house. Unfortunately, the last three times we have tried this restaurant the service was very poor, the drinks weren t made correctly, and food was okay. With the prices they carry, I would expect better. Since this restaurant is close to home, we keep trying again hoping it was just an off night previously but it s always the same experience.

Weve been looking forward for months to try The Butler house. The service was welcoming and Reed, our server, was on top of things. Unfortunately, the food was not as good as we had hoped for a $120 meal. Our drinks, cucumber martini and Butlers Old Fashion, were SO sadly SWEET. We had one sip and did not touch them again. Sliders Buns were soft but again, doused with super sweet bbq sauce. I could only eat one. Short rib was very tender but dry and had no seasoning to the meat. The sauce was okay. Mashed potatoes were cold and stiff. Veggies were over charred. Empanadas were oily and had too many sweet raisins. They were also different sizes, one very thin and one very fat. Truffle fries were the best thing on the table. Sadly, we will not be back. But if you like sugar, this is your place!

Terrible lunch, first time going, did not know what to expect (party of 13). We got there 15 min early, which was not an issue. He came around and took our drink order, good so far. After getting our drinks, bringing extra straws and fulfilling a lemon request for water. We finally requested some appetizers since it was not offered. By time we got our appetizers, placed our order for food, over an hour had gone by. Its not as if the place was packed either. The waiter seemed to be the only one doing everything, including cooking the food (it would seem because of the delay). So everyone gets their food on two different trays but me, he brings another tray out and its everyone side salad. I said excuse me where is my food, he says it coming up. I wait for what is suppose to be a panini, and instead was a piece of toasted bread (not grilled looking bread like a panini), which was also missing the sun dried tomatoes (Ill eat it instead of waiting). I also ordered fries, which he did not bring ketchup, I had to request it, so instead of putting ketchup in tiny serving container like my friends had, he plops a no named brand ketchup bottle in front of me. My friend ordered the short rib quesadilla, which looked more like a birra taco, another friend ordered the fish taco, it was salmon, would have been better with white fish like most fish tacos. Friend said the fish taco was spicy and could not even taste the fish. Terrible service all around, first and last time going, would not recommend. Maybe dinner is better???

If I could give 5 negative stars I would. We had a reservation for 8 at 530. Showed up right at 530. For 30 minutes we were taken around the restaurant and left by random tables to figure it out. Then they said they got it resolved and took us to table of 6 when I had a reservation for 8. - kept saying other large tables were for a reservation that weren t there, yet we were there and had a reservation yet couldn t be seated at a table adequately sized for our group. Audacity to ask if the kids could sit in a chair together. - Tried to sit us outside at two small tables 15 apart that were dirty - Service slow - never were asked for appetizers, refills l, dessert or new drinks - 10 minutes to get water or a hello - Had to ask separate waiter or get our tab after having the checks sit ready to pay for 20 minutes . And the checks were wrong with additional food we didn t order - Never once got acknowledged by any staff on any of these issues We are completely embarrassed after taking our out of town guests here - flabbergasted that that kind of service is a thing and deemed as acceptable by every employee there.

The food is really great, but the service is very, very slow and much to be desired. Its as if slow is a prerequisite on the application because all the waiters/ waitresses Ive experienced take their sweet time. Ive hosted events where we were spending a few thousand and they move like molasses. Its not a huge place... so I dont understand the lag. I went for dinner tonight and it wasnt busy at all, but took forever. I ordered once, my drink and chicken fried steak. The reason Im writing now, is...I called back later, like 30 min after I left, to order just a chicken fried steak, was so good, at 9:30pm and they close at 10pm, and said their kitchen was closed. Youre a restaurant not a bar, so put 9:30pm as closing and not 10pm!! I was ordering to go and had been there earlier....not impressed with service or Portion size which is a shame, because it could be a lively spot close to home.... Please improve and Ill host happy hours and events...

I had been wanting to visit this establishment for quite a while. Sadly, it did not live up to my expectations. We chose to go here for our 11th wedding Anniversary. They asked if when I made the reservation if we were celebrating anything and I told them it was our anniversary. They never mentioned it or asked while we were there. For starters.. My husband ordered the tomato bisque and I ordered the French Onion soup. The tomato bisque was super salty and I like salt and seasoning, but this was too much. My French Onion soup had a good flavor, but the bread / crouton inside of it was super chewy and hard to eat. I have had the same soup at other restaurants and never had it so chewy. Our Entrees... My husband ordered the Ribeye with prosciutto wrapped asparagus. He enjoyed the ribeye, it was cooked to his liking. It felt it was seasoned well. There was no special sauce or glaze offered with it which was a bit of a disappointment for a fine restaurant. He said it liked it as much as Texas Roadhouse. He definitely didnt feel it was worth the price. The asparagus absorbed the juices from the steak on top of it and he thought it tasted really good. I ordered the award winning short ribs. This is the main reason we came here because I love a good short rib. The portion size was small compared to what Ive had in the past, but if they taste gourmet its worth it. Basically it tasted like a tender pot roast. The reduction sauce on top was incredibly salty and amidst inedible. When I go to a fine restaurant I am going for the special sauces with all the flavors melded together that take it to another level. Nothing like that here. I also got a few veggies that were all hard and flavorless. For Dessert... We ordered the carrot cake and bread pudding. The cake was dry, but we really liked the buttercream. It was light and fluffy, not too heavy or full of sugar. The bread pudding was delicious and not too sweet. The service was good and the staff was freindly. No one came by to ask if everything was good. The actual building was cute and quaint..just wish the good matches the atmosphere. After spending over $100 for the two of us, we will not be back.

It s been close to 25 minutes and the table(now their are two of them) have yet to be cleared. We are one table of the 4 being serviced and we weren t helped in the order we arrived and are starting and tables full of food left unfinished. We are not, currently watching the table next to us get their food when they arrived AFTER us w the same party size be served their food. How are you full staffed and not attending to your guests? Not to mention the only table placed three feet from a tornado fan and we were placed here!!!! DO BETTER. The price doesn t match the service ..

My husband ordered the seared scallops, they were $42. Im attaching a pic of what he received. Im so let down by this. I fed him from my plate so he could get full. We had really high hopes for this place. Our waiter left our drinks empty for the majority of our dinner. I just feel like with prices like these, we shouldve received better service at the very least and enough food to leave feeling full.

We were excited about dining here as the reviews looked good. Our server was nice but he was really slow. We watched multiple tables come and go around us. We were told they were out of spinach dip then watched another table order it after us because actually they were out of pita bread and they got the option to have it with chips instead. The pretzel that we opted for was hard as a rock hence why we sent it back. The food came out in pieces .one person s then 5 minutes later the next. The appetizers came out with the food. The short rib didn t live up to its award and honestly the French fries were the best thing we ate. The grits were like water and we were celebrating a birthday, asked about dessert and never got to see that either. The entire experience was a hard NO! And the ac must have been broken because it was HOT! The manager was thoughtful though, he removed the hard pretzel that we sent back and gave me brunch prices on the mimosas that we ordered at brunch but took the slow server over half an hour to put in. Kudos!

Went for Fathers Day and service was just terrible. I dont know if our waiter was even trained? We had to flag down other waiters to get refills, salt/pepper, silverware, even steak knives, you name it. We had to ask for almost everything but (for the price) youd think a decent staff would see these things and be ahead of the game. We were crammed into one hot end of the building while staff attempted to bring in even more tables. There was no room! Someone had clearly botched another parties reservation and that became a small scene as well. Food quality has gone WAY downhill. In the past, it was no issue. The famous mac/cheese was rancid/sour and disgusting. My college student wouldnt even eat it. It used to be great when it contained brisket (not short ribs). Terrible. Steaks ($45) were NOT medium and turned closer to well as they rested. This was once a quaint, best kept secret of sorts, but this is no longer the case. This place is no longer worth it. Go somewhere else and get your moneys worth. There are much better options these days.

I got 3 regular pancakes with garlic butter on the side. Idk what happened. There was nothing from the menu description on my plate. I paid 17 dollars for 3 regular pancakes. Very disappointing. Same food Id get at Dennys or IHOP at a better price. Waitress seemed confused. It was also disappointing that there was no Fathers day buffet like there was last time. This is why I made reservations. This is not the Butler House it used to be. The food and service were meh. I wont be back or recommend.

Our waiter took our order, came by 30 minutes later to fill my water and we informed him we still hadnt received our appetizer (it was hummus). 5 minutes later we got it, they were out of pita bread so they gave us carrots and cucumbers to eat it with. 3 minutes later our food came out, my order was wrong, I had to flag down someone to correct it. Our waiter came back after we were done eating, took our plates, came by to fill my empty water (that was empty when he took the plates) 10 minutes after that. Its been another 15 minutes and still havent seen him. Im typing this as I wait for the check! Food wasnt bad, but that doesnt make up for the absolutely terrible service. Sunday Brunch, reservation for 1:30. Table of 4, 3 dishes arrive, 4th dish was 5 minutes later. Side dishes did not show up until reminded. Cocktail never showed, when asked about it was told We are out, sorry. Pancakes were supposed to have Chantilly cream, goat cheese, and lemon. Not sure if the above were part of the batter, but all they came with was syrup and garlic butter (!). Shrimp and grits were ok, but cold. Son did enjoy the chicken and waffles though. Service seemed confused or flustered. Several times waiters came by with a dish or drink asking if it was for us (it was not). Restaurant did not seem terribly busy, maybe 50, 60% capacity (3 of the 6 tables in our section were occupied). This is not the Butler House I remember.

Been to Butler House three times. What exactly is this place trying to be? You walk in to an old beautiful house with white table cloth tables, Club music pumping thru the speakers, there is always a gimmick like Salsa Night or Trivia Night. Huge turf yard with a huge Jumbotron. The Jumbotron every time I m there has on skateboarding and snowboarding. The food is below average and super pricy for what it is. If someone from Butler House reads this, I say this with nothing but hope you listen. You re going out of business unless you figure things out. My recommendation is brace a reasonable happy hour, Astros/Sports on the Jumbotron, Country Patio Muisic, and Families with your giant yard. It s an easy fix. But what you re doing right now people like me won t be coming back. You overcharging your customers for Walk Ons quality food is a short term fix to your empty dining room and patio. Shame on me for going back thinking things may change.
