First and last time here. Really bad service that we had to wait 15 minutes to get out waitress and she was eating back in the kitchen and we knew because she was still chewing. There was more employees at the bar and they were just looking at us. The restaurant was empty just a party that came with the guy that was singing. Also, The busgirl was taking on the phone. Food wasn t good. Neither chips and salsa. There s are better Mexican restaurant around spring area. Don t waste your time or money here.

We frequent Don Agave and it s our go to local Mexican food location. Service is always good and quick, frozen margaritas are great, and food has been consistently good. Always have sports on the TVs too which is nice in the background. Chicken mole and carne guisada are great. Parking: Plenty of parking Kid-friendliness: They are great with kids. Laid back.

Dear Management, With soooo many other Mexican Restaurants in the area to choose from - how you treat your customers is the difference between having a wait list for a table or offering $2.99 Rita s on a Saturday night to bring business in. Given all the great Tex-Mex options in this part of Texas, I can not, and will not recommend this place to anyone. The high reviews here on google gave me the impression that this place would be good. When I walked in, the cement floor walls, and untreated ceiling created one of the loudest dinning experiences I have ever heard. We ordered a large chili con queso for $10 which consisted of a bowl of canned yellow cheese with some pickled jalapenos on the side (yes thats it). Any high school stadium concession stand would serve something similar at half the price. We ordered shrimp fajitas... Living this close to the gulf coast I feel like the owner of this place really owes an apology to for the disservice they did those shrimp. They were way over-cooked, and under-seasoned, served on a bed lukewarm, half-raw onions. The fajitas were served with gumbo of all things which I thought was an interesting choice, but I like to live dangerously. I do believe that gumbo came strait out of a can. It was not good at all. We tried two of their top tier margaritas (cowboy killers or something) at $15 each. They were not good, and I suspect may not have used the top-shelf tequila they advertised on the menu. Very watered down tasting. With so many other good choices close by, I would pass on this place.

The absolute best Mexican food I have had in this area. Typically my wife and I have to drive 15 to 20 minutes away to go to a nice Mexican restaurant that serves something close to this so it is to our delight that we can get Mexican food this close while being this good at the same time. I would recommend this place a hundred times over. For those who cared to know my wife and I had enchiladas She had barbacoa while I had two beef one chicken. Something that was noteworthy to point out is her barbacoa came out with flour tortillas while mine were in corn tortillas. We didnt ask for this but it is the proper way to serve both of these dishes so it speaks something to the level of care they put into their food. We also had an order of sopapillas which I would recommend to anybody eating at any Mexican restaurant if youve never had them before. I took a picture of the desert at the entree didnt have a chance, as it caught my eye from the start. All I could think about was eating it. Parking: This location is in a strip that contains a lot of parking that is all free.

Based on our experience and in my opinion. Was looking for a proximate spot for dinner with family (3 persons) last night and upon reading the positive reviews, ended up at Don Agave s. Place was sparsely populated. We were welcomed promptly and seated. Restaurant looked clean and had the usual Tex-Mex ambience. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. Chips and salsas (three varieties, two reds and a guacamole-based) arrived promptly and were tasty. One of the red salsas had a welcome kick to it (perhaps a touch of habanero). Ordered two mojitos (mango and pomegranate), which arrived quickly. The mango one tasted just fine while the pomegranate one tasted like medicine/syrup. Overall, not bad. Food, consisting of a veggie enchilada appetizer, and two entrees - Chef s Special (chicken, beef and shrimp fajitas for one) and grilled fish platter, too was served promptly and was hot/freshly made. Taste and quantity were just fine, typical Tex-Mex with the side trimmings of guacamole, refried beans, pico, rice, and some sour cream. Not a bad experience by any means, but nothing extraordinary. What was extraordinary was the final check! Set us back close to $100, including a sneaky surcharge of over 3% of the food price, supposedly to cover credit card charges!! This, for an appetizer and two entrees and two alcoholic drinks!! There was no warning of this surcharge and if I hadn t looked at the check carefully, would have missed it entirely. Wonder how many patrons are taken in this way unsuspecting. Wonder too how that squares with the merchant- credit card company agreement. Upon highlighting the sneaky surcharge to the waiter, he nonchalantly mentioned that all the local restaurants followed this practice and mentioned two other names, another Tex-Mex and a Mex seafood place! Overall, good service, decent food, clean place, but watch the check and your wallet!

My bestie and I normally go to another local spot but decided we wanted to try something new. After googling we found this spot. We came in for lunch and we were surprised with how good it was. I got the the kids beef fajita taco and she got the chicken fajita taco salad. The meat had SO much flavor. I personally like my meat well well done so I was happy. If you don t like it cooked as much I d let them know when you order it. The rice was OK it needs onion but still good (that s why I gave 4 stars) ! Overall we loved it and will definitely be back!

Disappointing food again. This is our third visit which resulted in one of our dishes coming to the table dripping in grease. The first two visits it was ground beef tacos that would literally drip grease as I held them and attempted to eat them. We pointed it out to the server who was the Manager on duty and he sent them back to the kitchen. The remade tacos were better, not greater but much improved. So we returned this evening to give them another try. I ordered the half order of the ground beef nachos. The nachos came to the table with grease running off the ground beef above the queso and pooling in puddles on the plate. I tried to drain as much as possible off in order to eat a couple of the nachos. We didn t have a a great deal of time to sit and wait for the kitchen to remake something different. Their cheese enchiladas are not much better than the beef tacos also greasy.

A little pricey, but definitely one of my favorite spots. Family owned and operated, the only negative is the queso needs to be dressed to hit the spot. Besides that, excellent food and service.

Went out for some drinks with the girls and omg the margaritas are excellent! I had the cancun margarita and it was yummy. The food and service was also good. Definitely a must if you re in the spring area. By the way Elvin besides him being so cute he was very helpful with the menu and drinks.

Meh. Not sure why this place is rated so high. We tried it due to the high rating and were pretty disappointed. It wasn t bad, but it wasn t good either. With all the choices we have in Mexican food around here, I would pass on this one. We had the chips, salsa and queso to start. All lacked flavor. Nothing special, spiced or spicy. The iced tea wasn t fresh. I m a stickler on this. Tea is cheep to make . No reason to let it get old. I ordered combination steak and shrimp quesadillas with a side of rice and beans. The portion was large. The steak was pretty good. Not great, and the shrimp was ok, but lacked seasoning. It came with tomato, guacamole, and lettuce garnish. In my opinion pico would be better. I tried the pico from my friends plate. It was fresh and flavorful and added something to the quesadillas. I liked the rice ok, it was plain with only a couple carrot pieces in it, but seemed fresh. The beans were no bueno. Seemed unseasoned and canned. Overall the food seems to lack love. It was empty for a Friday night.

We were intrigued by high rating of this restaurant and came here for late dinner around 9pm on Tuesday. It was almost empty. The service was great. Fast and attentive. The food didnt come out as fast as we were hoping, so we got halfway full on their chips and salsa, which were not bad. We ordered fish ceviche, stuffed avocado with chicken, taco salad with ground beef and queso (if I remember the name correctly). Fish ceviche was one of the best Ive ever tried. It was fresh, juicy and flavorful. Stuffed avocado had too much cheese on the inside and not enough chicken, but not a bad dish overall. My bf enjoyed his taco salad and took half of it home, because the portions are large. He loved queso as well. I would say this is a solid 4 start restaurant. I would come back for more ceviche and to try their tacos.

Fantastic local Mexican food! Chips and salsa are delicious. Monday special large Margaritas are unbeatable. We ordered the mixed beef and chicken fajitas. The beef was tender and very flavorful. Olivia is an awesome waitress! Very attentive and kind. We will be back!

The Blanco queso was very good & tasty. The taco al pastor were a little over cilantoed, but very good. The trio enchiladas were good and the gravy & question topping was exceptional. The peach margaritas was very tasty and smooth Will definitely become a favorite!

Had a grand time at Don Agave tonight. Its my first time trying a Mezcal Margarita and they did not disappoint. Nice smokey flavor but just enough Grand Marnier to balance out the strong flavors. Didnt get a chance to eat here but very much looking forward to it based on the recommendations from the people I met at the bar.

This place in one of the BEST Tex-Mex restaurants around. Food is awesome and the margaritas are fantastic. These arent your average mexican restaurant margaritas. They use the best, fresh ingredients and they dont use the cheap liquor. The same goes for the food! The staff are very friendly. We have not been disappointed and we are there at least once a week. A family owned and family run business. Give this restaurant a try. Youll be happy you did. We highly recommend!! :)

Super-fast service. Have been here for both lunch and dinner. In both cases, service was excellent. Food is good, not great. Salsa needs a little more spice. Pico has too much cilantro for my taste. Cowboy Killer Margarita and the Fiesta Sampler. I have my go to places for Mexican food, however after last night Don Agave has become not only mines but my kids favorite. Fresh tasting food and drinks.
