I had an amazing experience at Zaras Mediterranean Cuisine off Louetta Road! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant, with great music that set the perfect tone for a fun night out. My server, Eman, was exceptional friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. I started with a refreshing Watermelon Mint Mojito and a Mediterranean Breeze, both of which were flavorful and refreshing. The Mediterranean Hummus was rich and creamy, the perfect way to start the meal. For the main course, I had the Beef Shawarma Wrap and a Gyro Wrap both were absolutely delicious, packed with flavor, and so fresh. Overall, the food was fantastic, the service top-notch, and the ambiance made it a great spot for a relaxed, enjoyable evening. Highly recommend Zaras to anyone looking for authentic Mediterranean food with a lively atmosphere!

OMG! If you live in Houston this place is a must, fast and amazing service , the atmosphere is truly best of the best. We finally tried this place, and I hate to report that it was not worth the money or time. We ordered to-go, so I wont attest to the atmosphere or service, this review is solely based on the food. First, we were missing part of the order (no receipt provided so the person picking it up couldnt check to see if everything was there). Oh well, Ill just get refunded that through the site, but a bummer from the start but no big deal. For the food we did receive: Hummus trio: the hummus was the best part of the meal. All three were good, red pepper probably being the best one. They werent anything to rave about but pretty darn good. The problem is, is that we got 3 very small cups for the trio- they maybe hold 3 tablespoons a piece. They are the size of cup you expect for a side of dipping sauce. Comparing pictures online to how much you actually get (at least to-go)... I cant help but feel ripped off. It seemed like a joke if Im being honest. For the price they charge, it was NOT worth it. (And this is coming from someone who doesnt believe every take out meal has to be american-sized if you catch my drift). Pita: they serve a thick, soft pita. It is good, comparable to any thick store-bought pita. Baba ganoush: it was underwhelming at best. It lacked any depth or smokiness that youd expect from a good baba ganoush. It was very, very basic. Lentil soup: youre better off just grabbing any can of lentil soup from the grocery store. No depth, no real flavor other than a bit of salt and the taste of lentils. Sambosas: these were alright, nothing to write home about but not disappointing. Overall I would recommend many other mediterranean restaurants over this one (of which would have comparable if not better prices for some things). The food was generally just ok. The type of ok you can get from grabbing a can of soup, red pepper hummus, and white pita bread from the grocery store - so if thats the flavor profile you are after, I suggest just doing that and saving your money. Vegetarian options: There are quite a few vegetarian options.

Ive been going to Zaras Mediterranean Kitchen for a few months now, and its always been one of my favorite places to eat in Spring/Houston. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is friendly and attentive. I love their Muhammara dip, which is some of the best Ive ever had. Their gyro wraps are also amazing, and their portions are very generous. I highly recommend Zaras Mediterranean Kitchen to anyone looking for a great Mediterranean meal in the Spring area.

Visited again today and ordered smoky chipotle hummus which tasted super yummy. Also ordered beef kobideh and Adana kabab. Both were very juicy and full of flavor. They only have one female staff that can make the service a bit slow. Food and ambience both is very good. Ordered the beef koobideh and another platter which had chunks of beef kebab. Skewer koobideh tasted delicious but the chunks kebab were very chewy and hard to eat. Most med restaurants don t charge for hot sauce but it was disappointing that they charge a $1 for a small container of hot sauce. Ambience and service were wonderful. We went on the day when the temp was in freezing cold and their heater wasnt working. It was quite uncomfortable to sit in the cold restaurant but such a big restaurant should be mindful of these things.

Lamb was overcooked. We did enjoy the fries and Zaras Special Iced Tea. It was our anniversary and we were so excited to try this restaurant because it was recommended by a friend. The wife wanted something light after an unwanted meal while on bed rest. She found this close to the hospital and we were really happy with it. Gyro and beef shawarma were both delicious! The basmati rice was extremely flavorful and the sambosas were crispy with a warm smokey flavor. The tzatziki was honestly the best I have ever had! The Baba Ghanoush and pita were both good but nothing special. We will definitely return once we can actually go and sit in the restaurant.

A place weve driven by countless times And expressed interest in dining there. We finally took the plunge. The wife and I decided on a Wednesday night to eat dinner at Zaras. I ordered the gyro meal with lamb and my wife ordered the falafel plate. My reason for giving a four-star review is based on the fact that my wife thought the falafel was good but not great and my gyro sandwich did not have enough vegetables to satisfy me. The service was very good and the atmosphere was good too. A french fry appetizer we previously ordered was delicious. All in all the food was good but we thought it would be better. I did have a Pena colada drink, non-alcoholic of course, and I thought was delicious.

Im surprised I havent already reviewed this place, considering how many times Ive come here. Im going to go with a 4 star review, because sometimes they are a 5 star experience, and sometimes they are a 3 star experience. So this falls somewhere in the middle. It also shows you how inconsistent they are. I do you have to say that their service is almost always great! I appreciate the good service more than anything else, because a lot of times these type of restaurants (Arab, desi, etc) have good food and good ambiance, but dont have good service, so good service and professionalism is always welcomed. Their kids meals are great and my kids enjoy the chicken nuggets and fries. They also seem to really love the milkshakes, but thats a given. For the adult meals, theyre charging higher than I think any of us in our group last visit were used to, because pretty much everyone commented on how high their prices are. The amount of food you get is also not reflective on the price. Because if the price is high and if we get a good amount of food, it would be understandable but the quantity is just okay. I also think that the fun type of drinks like the little mocktails are also highly priced because the main charge in cocktails is for the alcohol, and since we dont have that in the mocktails, the price should not be as high. I think its a good place to come as a group because they have ample seating and are able to take a lot of orders at one time. I like the ambiance a lot and the atmosphere is festive. When there are other people in the restaurant, and they seem to be on top of the orders, with hot and fresh food, I think its a great place to visit right here in Spring.

This was our first visit and the atmosphere was lovely, we were transported to the Mediterranean and loved the beautiful Turkish chandelier at the entry. It took us a while to get through the massive menu and we finally decided to go with Zaras Mixed Grill Platter which offered a little bit of every meat. All were flavorful and not dry. Its served with rice and salad and there was enough for at least 3. We started with the Pesto Hummus and it did not disappoint, the flavors were amazing and it was served with freshly baked pita for dipping. Our server was friendly and helpful with suggesting dishes that we may like. Our glasses were kept refilled and she made sure we were happy with the food. Definitely plan to return soon!

Tried the Gyro Fries and I totally recommend. I went all out with the appetizers for Father s Day of course with my dad and bought them the 3 different flavored hummus and it was a good portions with fresh warm pita/naan breads. They are friendly and welcoming and always asking if we need anything else. Honestly this plate I forgot the name of it but show them this picture and it honestly feeds up to 3 people if you order a lot of appetizers tbh. Their special drink which is the Zara tea drink is also delicious. I came in hungry and left feeling full and satisfied with my family. Will definitely bring in my friends also to this restaurant.

I was visiting the area after having moved almost 3 years ago. I was really excited about Zara. I used to frequent the one on Rayford but since I was near Louetta, I gave this one a shot. A mess. The ambience is nice. Food is low-mid. I enjoy Mediterranean food and know what good is and what authentic is. This wasnt it. The food pictured is exactly how it was out of the to-go container. We went there in Ramadan, and the place has one of the nicest sitting area for a family. Their peices are a bit high to be honest. They have wide variety of non alcoholic drinks, bit they cost around 7$ or so. They have a family meal for 2, which was good. I had the lamb shank, but I felt it wasnt a good amount. I ordered through a food delivery app the beef shawarma with rice and side salad. Never before in my life had I seen the beef prepared like this. It was chopped up in small bits with shallot sliced and placed on top. Very dry and rubbery. The rice was dry. It was not good at all for any price. They had a small amount of the sauce on the side in the oz container that was only half full. The sauce was good but I was at a loss as to why so little amount when this is a key ingredient for the meal. Never again.

Came here on a Wednesday night with our friends. It was pretty quiet, there was only one other table occupied when we sat down which was nice. It was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised by the interior of the restaurant. It was clean, organized ,and the decorum was quite lovely. Our waiter was great and very helpful letting us know the most popular items on the menu from beginning to end. After some time of going over their large menu, we ordered the Trio Hummus Sampler, and Greek loaded fries for appetizers. Wow both were fantastic, I highly recommend them! I especially loved the lamb meat on top of the fries, so tender and delicious. I had the pina colada drink, it not only looked amazing but tasted delicious too, a little on the sweet side ,but I still loved it. For my entree, I had the Beef Souvlaki Kabob. Sadly I wouldnt recommend that one because most of the beef was chewy and tough, which was a real shame because the basmati rice was spot on and so was their naan bread. I would have given this place a 5 star had the beef been less awful. For myself next time I probably wont get anything with beef and stick to the other meats. All and all I enjoyed coming here and would like to come back. Thank you!

We moved to the area recently and have always wanted to try. Today was the day. I went to this restaurant today with my husband and some friends and had an awesome experience. The food was amazing. The decor was beautiful. The interior is clean and everything has a great design, like the lamps, the wall structure, the rugs the decorations, everything. Its very well done and looks great, and once again its very clean. Everyone who talked to us was nice, and our waiter was great. The prices are reasonable. Its not cheap, its not offensively high. The food you get is amazing. I have Arab friends where I,ve had their mothers cooking and this is on that level or better (she wont read this or know). Ive also been to a good amount of middle-eastern restaurants Everything I had was the best one Ive had. Like the olive in the hummus was the best olive Ive had in my life. The falafel was the best Ive had in my life. The gyro was the best Ive had in my life. They had really fresh non-alcoholic drinks like juices and smoothies and all this. Im coming back for the lamb leg, and some other stuff this place was amazing.

This truly felt like a treat! I had the vegetarian appetizer where you get to pick 4. My two favorites were the grape leaves and the baba ghanoush which a wonderful almost smokiness to it. Great mediterranean restaurant. Very clean and comfortable. Service was great. Food was delicious! Chicken shish kabob and beef shawarma were both fantastic! I was told the beef and lamb kabob were also very good. The menu is pretty large, so there should be something for everyone. Some of the prices were a little on the high side, but not too terrible. All in all, I was very impressed and this has replaced the other Z restaurant as my favorite local mediterranean restaurant. I will definitely be adding this to my regular restaurant rotation.

UPDATE: We had a date night, and ate inside the restaurant for the first time today. The decor is so inviting, and the atmosphere is amazing! It s seriously some of the best Mediterranean food I ve ever had! I ordered delivery through a Uber Eats, everything was super fresh and the perfect temperature when it arrived. I ordered the Shawarma lovers platter with chicken and beef shawarma, rice, and Greek salad. It comes with two meats, two sides, and a pita. Everything was delicious and well seasoned, and plenty of food for two people. I could tell the pita was homemade, it was fluffy and tasty. I also ordered a pistachio baklava, and pistachio gelato, both super tasty as well! I m really impressed with the quality and taste of the food. We just happened to be driving down the road, when we noticed this restaurant. We made a point to stop by on the way home and ordered some takeout. We were so happy that we did. Absolutely amazing flavors!!! We ordered the Lentil soup and Moroccan Harira soup. We also ordered a Greek Feta Salad and a Falafel Salad. This is, by far, the best Falafel we have ever had. The garlic and herbs in it were so delicious. This Falafel was also moist and very easy to digest. The vegetables in the salads were very fresh and the dressing did not overpower. Both of the soups were very good. My husband loved the little kick of spice in the Moroccan soup. I highly recommend this establishment if you are hungry for some Mediterranean food. Everyone is so polite and the servers answered our questions well and provided fantastic recommendations. My husband and I ordered the trio hummus sampler and the shawarma lovers platter to share. Bo thy were exceptional! Our family enjoys hummus and have some in our fridge at all times, but THIS hummus ? I ve never tasted anything like it - so creamy and so full of complex flavor. The red pepper hummus was probably my favorite, but the Mediterranean was a very close second. The pita bread was warm and fluffy soft. I enjoyed eating the pita bread alone and hummus by the spoonful, and together they were even better. The shawarma lovers platter we picked chicken and gyro meat. Both tender and flavorful in unique ways. The feta salad was crisp and fresh. Those waffle fries blew my picky fry connoisseur husband away. Light crispy and so good. And the sauces . We both ate until we couldn t eat anymore and still had a box full of leftovers to take home. You have to come and try these flavors! We will be back. Often. This place has a lot going for it. To be honest, the remodeling was well done, but the menu has changed. We miss some of the older dishes like Afghani mutten, and the fresh made Nan! The vegi sampler platter tasted great but our needed more. One person in our party had theirs loaded up. The babaganosh was great. It started off as a rough visit because how small our $15 platter was and pita is not as good as fresh Nan. Then our dinners came out. Everything was amazing!!!! I don t normally write reviews but after visiting Zaras Mediterranean Kitchen it exceeded my expectations in every way. The gyro wrap I had was absolutely amazing, with perfectly seasoned meat, fresh vegetables, and a delectable sauce that brought all the flavors together. The service was commendable, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring a pleasant dining experience. I highly recommend Zaras for their exceptional gyro wraps and top-notch service. While I was dining there was a rather rude gentlemen who kept shouting which was a little disappointing and confusing considering the service was excellent.

I came here for dinner with my husband and had a delightful meal. The interior of this restaurant is absolutely stunning and vibrant. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the AC happening to be out when we came, so they made sure we had a fan by our table to help keep us cool. They do have a long menu with lots of options, so we settled on some of their fresh juices, samosas, I got their gyro and tabbouleh, and my husband got the gyro torta. The juices were so incredibly fresh and delicious. Their samosas had a great flavorful filling and creamy dipping sauce. Our gyros were delicious. Cant wait to come back again!
