So due to my health I typically dont eat much red meat or dairy but yesterday , we decided to indulge and I ordered grass fed mushroom burger and we had sweet potato fries and it was . Even the whole wheat buns were next level and I could tell that the ingredients were fresh and top quality not because of taste but because the meat and goat cheese didnt cause as much inflammation and I was full which meant no GMOs, and I wasnt moody after which means those cows werent induced with additional hormones. While I still have to limit my consumption of meat , I really wanted to say this was one of the best burgers Ive ever had and it was done to perfection. If you are looking for a high quality great burger, while it may be more on the pricy side... You can trust you are getting what you are paying for and the sweet potato fries were also divine. 10/10 recommend to anyone willing to invest a few more dollars in the quality of their food that still wants a great burger and they do have other burger options for vegetarians and plant based eaters as well. Def worth trying out.

Slow evening for them bc of the weather, but all employees were friendly, helpful, and kind! Food was delicious! Our 10yo loved the truffle aioli and gave his kids burger a 10/10! Highly recommend the Magic Shroom! Yum! Kid-friendliness: Great price for kids meal while giving parents a more gourmet option. Our kids loved their food!

Carl & staff are superb and spectacular!! Hopdoddy s is only as special as the staff that runs it and this held true today. Our food was made with care and exactly how we asked for it to be made. The staff even made suggestions on how we could mix and match topping to make the perfect burger. And with a boozy shake to finish the meal, we are stuffed and satisfied. Thanks everyone!! Hoping they put a Hopdoddy s in our area of SE San Antonio.

*caused allergy contamination* we love hopdoddy, and eat at one in san antonio on the rare times we eat out. we were coming home from a long day of traveling, and we re excited to find a hopdoddy on our way home. for starters the wait to order was unreasonably long. there were only a few people ahead of us, and most of our wait was because of the person being helped at the front of the line. they informed us they were out of regular buns so we were given two other options. this wasn t a huge deal. my husband ordered my food specifically without cheese. i am breastfeeding, and my baby has a severe dairy intolerance. i didn t notice until i had already eaten 1/4 of my burger that it had cheese on it. it wasn t so noticeable because my burger had a fried egg on it. it wasn t until i opened it up to break off a piece of ground beef to give my baby, that i noticed it. i was so saddened. i knew it would cause some severe pain for my child which a day or two later it did. she was screaming in pain. they were also out of ketchup. and like another reviewer mentioned, it was oddly muggy and warm in there. Dietary restrictions: they caused my dairy free child to become contaminated.

Parking: Parking is directly out front of restaurant and spaces are always available! Kid-friendliness: Theres always a variety of people in house! Never anyone out of character though. The atmosphere sets a cool relaxed tone to enjoy lunch or dinner with the fam or solo!

Food is really good, however it is hard to enjoy when it feels so hot and humid inside the restaurant. I first experienced this about a month ago, I figure their AC must of been out. Today we went and it looks like they don t care to fix the AC issue. Way too hot. I do not recommend.

My wife and I were excited for a night out for dinner, looking for a place to relax, have a few drinks, and enjoy some good food. We are regulars at another location in San Antonio and always love it. Unfortunately, this location was a huge letdown. As soon as we walked in, we noticed water leaking across the floor from under the bar, with wet towels scattered around. The restaurant was hot and muggy inside, making it uncomfortable to stay. We placed our order and waited, but after a while, only our burgers arrived no appetizers or drinks. Eventually, the appetizers came, followed by the drinks, but the wait was unnecessarily long. Throughout our visit, we never once met a server, only the sweet girl who initially took our order. I wanted a second beer, but there seemed to be no way to get one without waiting in line again, which was frustrating. This experience was a real disappointment, especially since I tipped, assuming I would receive some service. This location needs significant improvements in both service and environment. We won t be returning to this particular Hopdoddy anytime soon.

I had placed an order for a buffalo burger for to-go, then waited 40 mins for it. After I saw it I thought it was a bacon burger with melted cheese (picture) I went back and asked for a replacement burger and they said it is a buffalo burger and when I asked why so little sauce the guys answer, that s the way it is then laughed. So I left with a buffalo burger with no buffalo usually it comes drenched with buffalo but guess they didn t feel like it today. Was hoping for more of an caring atmosphere for the mistake but they didn t care.

We went there last Saturday for the drink special. The drinks were excellent and the bartender was a nice guy. I think his name was Zac. But the air conditioning was lacking it was a bit hot at least in the bar area. I hadnt gone to this location for a very long time because I was very dissatisfied with the food even the shakes. Im glad I gave it another chance.

Definitely disappointed. Birria burger has no birria on it. Traditional fries had no salt and tasted like theyd been under a heat lamp for 30 minutes. Sweet tea was not sweet. Texas Sling cocktail was okay, but not even close to $10 okay. $4 cocktail at best. Spent $33 for a single person and one drink and walked away definitely unsatisfied. Service was excellent, however. All employees polite, knowledgeable, and friendly.

Hopsdoddy Burger Bar exceeded my expectations for an artisan, high-end burger experience. The staff were friendly and very attentive. Initially hesitant about the à la carte sides, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional quality of my hot honey chicken sandwich. Each bite was a treat in itself, packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. The fries were a delight crispy, well-seasoned, and served at just the right temperature. To top it off, a refreshing beer complemented the meal perfectly. Leaving satisfied and full, I couldnt resist catching a movie next door. Hopsdoddy Burger Bar is definitely worth a visit for a memorable dining experience.

I havent been to a hopdoddys in years. All I could remember were their amazing truffle fries and making sure you ordered them...separately because nothing comes with their $14 small burger. We were excited to try a new burger that was being promoted. She let us know they could make it but it would be missing pretty much everything because they were out?.. so instead of the order taker letting us know....oh just so you are aware we are also out of this and this....I went back to the menu to read again. Mind you, I havent been in years. So I wanted to read the menu. Because they make you order first THEN sit. It should be the other way around. Sit, scan a QR code then send one person up to order for the whole table. Much easier! Anyway, thankfully no one was in line. So I took my awkward time to pick out a new selection. Then she says they out of that too. Im like. Okay.....and then pick something else. Then I say, oh and the truffle fries! Oh we are out of those too what!?!?! So I canceled my order. Call it sad but that was literally the only reason we chose to drive all the way over to San marcos. At this point we were stuck with nachos fries I had ordered and paid for because they dont have an option on their screen to send now and keep the ticket open. So I had to pay just to get an appetizer going. Then....it got worse. The server dropped off the bowl fast and ran away. Basically dropped it and ran.. and brought only 1 silverware. Clearly there are 2 people here. Barely anyone was there at the restaurant...they knew it was 2 people because we could see the staff and cooks all cackling with one other after I said cancel our burger order. The nacho fries had I swear a pound of spicy seasoning on them. Probably to make us uncomfortable and get back at us. Well your plan failed staff people we love spicy stuff. Anyway, I had to get another plastic silverware myself which I dont mind doing a little leg work....I worked in the service industry for 16 years and managed restaurants.... but all the while Im still wondering....why in the world did your screen ask me 5 questions AND ask me to tip. Tip?! The order taker should have made us aware of other things that were out after the first time I tried to order something, or at least after the 2nd. But 3 times? Then drop the bowl with 1 silverware and douse our fries in a pound of spices. Needless to say there are hundreds of restaurants in Austin, Kyle, San Marcos and other surrounding areas who all sell burgers and we will not be attending another hopdoddys. Your $14 burger with no fries and a very small burger patty just is not worth it to us. Fix your steps....let people sit first then order. Gives them time to take in the atmosphere and not feel rushed to order. Let a guest know after the first time you request something is out...that other things are out too. Obviously dont promote negativity but after the first time.... educate your guest on other delicious items you carry while letting them know what other things are out of stock too. When I announced multiple times I had not been there in forever....then now is your time to shine for that tip and sell me on other items you carry. But the main reason we were so frustrated was because instead of an apology from anyone.... we got nachos fries flung on our table and no Manager visit. Im not asking for a discount because we were going to pay and order regardless. But at least come over, apologize and ask us to come back when things get settled down with stock issues. But we got nothing but snickering employees and pointing at us. Thankfully whatever they did to our fries....we havent gotten sick. Thats a win. But take care hopdoddys you only lost 2 customers today... but more will come if you dont fix a few issues. Tried it again at the bar. $80. 2 beers, 2 burgers, 2 fries. Fries were old and re-fried and the steak sauce burger is nasty. Were done. Again no Manager anywhere while employees were outside smoking and on their phones. Used to be good, no longer.

This place was not for me. They took a McDonalds quarter pound burger and dressed it up so they can charge $13.00 for it. The young lady that took our order totally screwed it up. Cashless, discriminatory, and out of the ONE thing that I can actually eat on their menu. I haven t eaten Hop Doddy in sooo many years, and was looking SO forward to this alllll week, so I fasted ALL DAY to eat here for a birthday dinner - and they are out of the one thing I can eat. This hamburger place has great burgers; their specialties are well combined with great taste. I just did not like the Ahi Tuna; it was not great. The Brussels fries are delicious. I do recommend coming here on time before they close because they won t give you your order correctly and will give it to you to go and cold. So come in on time. Not great customer service.

My son and I decided to eat out tonight, and this place was busy line to the door when we walked in, not only were we greeted by a really nice warm friendly smile, the bartender made us a wonderful (perfect) drink as we waited to order in line. We ordered, as we sat down, we had to clean some crumbs off our table. Bartender noticed, apologized profusely, said they were short staffed. Honestly, we didn t even mind, the wait wasn t that bad, and their service was awesome, they all had smiles on and were working hard. Food comes out fast, like anurprisingly fast- and it s wonderful. Seriously, nothing bad at all. Perfectly cooked burgers, awesome gluten free buns, truffle fries were delicious and crispy and hot. We asked the bartender s name. Said it was BEN. that guy needs a raise and a promotion. He left the bar to check people out while the checkers were bussing tables. Everyone worked together and in sync. Even though it was a busy night and you may have been short staffed, this tired Momma and Son Were truly impressed by this experience and we will be back. don t remember hopdoddy s being this cold and stale. this was my first time not getting a burger, just a few appetizers, so maybe their burgers are the only thing worth getting besides the shakes. i got brussel sprouts and they brought out brussel scraps lololol. who knew that was a thing? way to ruin my fav veggie.

Never been to this place before but decided to try it. People here are awesome I talked with Carl Annie Alexis and Ruben to get the best recommendations and sauces. One of the best burgers I ve had and the fries are definitely the number one of all time. I had the truffle fries and they actually toss the fries in the toppings not like other places that just sprinkle it on the top layer. I m passing through town but I hope where I m going has a hopdoddy because this place was one of the easiest and most enjoyable dining experiences I ve ever had. 10/10 will be back if I m in town! Parking: Lots of spots in a huge connected parking lot with other businesses in the area, I parked front row but even if it was busy maybe a 15 second walk and your inside.

If you are expecting a fast food restaurant you might be at the wrong place. Yes, it does take a little longer to get your food and it is a little more expensive but if you want a good burger this is the place. Food was wonderful, service was good and the there is a full bar available. Certainly worth the stop.

I enjoy going to the Hopdoddys in San Marcos! I ve taken several of my friends there! We ve always been greeted with a happy hello, and waited on by the friendliest staff! I went alone Monday evening, I had ordered a drink and spoke with a waitress Erica! She s very nice, friendly, helpful and personable! I had a order Parmesan Brussel Sprouts! Great burger joint. Clean, smells good. I ordered the Regenerative Royal burger. The meat is good, has a clean beef flavor (not overly fatty). The seasoning was not evenly spread, one end had none the other had plenty. The chipotle ketchup is great. Also, the sharable fries were fantastic. Like seriously gourmet fries. We wont avoid Hopdoddys, not sure if I would seek it out, but if other folks are like, Hey, lets go to Hopdoddys, then Im game.

Then added to a brioche bun that was caressed by a bacon jam and buzzword aoli... then served with a dirty Douchebag IPA... this is your place.. there is nothing wrong with that just know what you are getting into.. ordering a burger here is like ordering black coffee at a fancy coffee shop or a Coors light at a hipster bar... they will look at you funny pretend they dont know what you just said and then ask you if you want something with 12 words in the name that really just means fancy burger.

Had the cheese burger and shared fries. Food was fantastic. Place and bathrooms very clean and tidy. My only thing was the music was totally not to my tastes. Im sure many people love it. It wasnt too loud or anything... just not for me. But, they do have outside seating and I will probably sit there next time. I will definitely go back as it was really good food. Parking: Its in a large shopping center so plenty of parking.

Upon entering, the restaurant smelled of fresh baked bread. I have Celiac disease and it is very difficult to find places to eat. The restaurant had fresh baked gluten free buns and the general manager assisted in my order to make sure it was safe. I was guaranteed separate preparation areas, washed hands, and dedicated fryers. I eat here pretty often and the food is always exceptional but on this occasion I wanted to take some time to shoutout the service. The other day I had some issues with my to go order and Parker personally went out of his way to make sure that I was not only taken care of but that my issue was resolved. For someone who eats here often I really appreciated the service that Parker showed me and on top of all of that the cooks are always doing their thing on the grill . I would highly recommend this place 10/10.

So disappointing. I love hopdoddy but this time it was a hot mess. My tuna burger was over seared and it came with union, I requested no union. The ketchup tank was busted and they fixed it and brought me one ketchup who does that? The sweet potato fries were hard and dry remember to switch out your oil. Poor spirited service staff. 2 stars at least they greeted me when I arrived and when I was living. Hopsoddy do better.
