Oh, my God. The best park with the worst parking but the crystal clear water makes up for having to walk, which is not a bad thing...We all could use the exercise so I take my dog with me to make it all worth my while and hers too!! Dog-friendliness: My dog is happy as a little girl !

Beautiful water that is spring-fed and a constant 72° year-round. I do wish the park was patrolled more actively to keep it more family friendly, but the environment is usually okay (beware that youre going to see a lot of people in very skimpy swimwear). Nice grassy area to roll out a towel and relax between dips in the clear, cold water.

A must-do when visiting San Marcos. The area is for the staff and students. I went during semesters in the summer during the week. The water is incredibly refreshing!

There are CHIGGERS on the east lawn. Probably on both sides but I can t be sure. Wear bug spray if you re spending time out in the evening. Dog-friendliness: Not dog friendly, dogs are not allowed due to run off. Picnic area: Just few table around and a pavilion

Fun park to start tubing. Water is super clear and ice cold. River is deep in some areas. If you are taking little ones I suggest going further down the river to Pyramid Park where there are more shallow areas to play. Parking was limited at Sewell park.

Great place to access the water and float. Bring your own or go to lions. As long as its not too busy the water is usually really nice. Avoid holidays at all costs. MLK weekend was hell and a uninterrupted sea of bodies. But its usually nice.

Water is really low and dirty, and lots of people are trying to cool off. Because of tons of people, it was starting to looked junky with trash all over. Normally, its a decent place. I saw dogs even though I read a sign that stated No Dogs. Playground: Theres a playground between this one and the Lions club. Toilets: Clean bathrooms or at least the womens bathroom

On todays adventure with Oakley we visited campus for the first time and we stopped by the park to stretch our legs before heading back to ATX. It was a beautiful day and we practically had the park to ourselves. Oakley enjoyed running around chasing his ball and I enjoyed the fresh air and the clean open space the park had.

One of the liviest places in San Marcos. A great park to hang out with your family, chill with your friends, and swim in the river. A very peaceful park with the river surrounding it. People usually swim there, take a sunbath, and play handball to pass time. The river is clean and great to swim in. Love visiting this park!
