I seen this place has swing seats cutee I also seen the not so nice reviews . I have tattoos so does my bf, both in our 20s so passed 18 he can drink a good 2 micheladas just wondering if we ll get kicked out or turned away :,) otherwise looks like a chill vibe would love to come here one day.

I was assaulted by a staff member there. They asked me to leave without reason. Addressed me VERY AGRESSIVELY, but I was fully cooperative. Staff member became impatient as I zipped up my jacket for it being winter time then. Staff member sucker punched me in the back of the head and tackled me from behind, leading me face first into their entry door. I did not fight them, push back or resist at all. Other staff saw this and covered for their buddy. I contacted police and attempted to press charges, but witnessed staff covered for their buddy. Absolutely unacceptable. These bouncers were young college aged kids looking to get their hands dirty.

Love hanging out at Mayloos. The whole staff is always friendly and helpful. Josh was my bartender for the night the bar was insanely packed but Josh was quick to take our order and even asked how our evening was. Always a good time at Mayloos definitely will be coming back!

I ordered one Lone Star paid $5 and told the bar tender to keep the change. I sat outside to enjoy my beverage halfway through my drink while sitting by myself Some random bouncer confronts me and tells me I am too drunk and forces me out of the bar. The second bouncer behind him tells me I dont know what you did but I have to kick you out. This type of behavior is disgusting. Half of a beer and Im too drunk because Im sitting by myself listening to the music.

Was traveling and thought I would stop in for a bit. Not as fun as I was told... The bouncers are rude. And I saw 3 people in line get rejected entry because they had tattoos which I thought was strange. A tattoo doesnt mean youre a bad person. I dont have tattoos so I didnt have that problem. I wont be returning.

We went to this bar to meet a friend who might I say, has tattoos all along his arms and neck. We get there and because my boyfriend has tattoos all along his arms and neck, the door guy says he cant come in. We explained, we were meeting a friend who was already inside with tattoos along his arms similar to my BOYFRIENDS. The manager came up and told the door guy, Its up to you. The door guy then looks at my boyfriend up and down and says No, I said no, he cant come in. Tell me if thats NOT discriminating!? What a circus this bar runs... they pick and choose their friends rather than REAL CUSTOMERS! Sad to say, I even told them they were discriminating and they didnt think so. Saddest thing is the manager was at the door and gave the door guy the decision, even when OUR FRIEND WENT UP TO HIM AND TOLD HIM HE HAD SLEEVE TATS AS WELL and although he (the manager) knew him, he still told us no! Yet, the other bars we ended up at said that was the 1st time theyve heard of them being that way. Im not even a local, but they are! Wow! STRAIGHT UP DESCRIMINATING! I wouldnt waste my time on MayLous at all after this experience!. Had I known your names, I would have posted them too, at 1 am on July 27, 2023

Love mayloos always my first stop when I go to the square go in and ask for a game face to start the night off I recently went in there and ordered 3 different times and I checked my bank statement the next day and it said they double charged me which ended up being my banks fault and not mayloos but the manager was quick to reach out to help me resolve this issue and he was very patient and understanding and ended up giving me a drink on the house for all the trouble my bank gave me

I wasnt aware that discrimination was still acceptable behavior for a place of business such as this in America. Plenty of other bars in the area will gladly take the money that your judgmental staff are too good for. You never know who has a pocket full of cash and tips like a boss. This place isnt even anything special. Just another basic bar for super basic people. A bunch frat boys and future stay at home moms. Whole buncha d bags. I always find it humorous when service industry workers have big egos. Dude, you work at a bar in Texas. Lol. What a miserable existence. Ha ha ha ha ha! Was our first time coming to your bar from Out of town and wouldn t even let us in the front door because of my friends tattoos and not the way he was dressed was totally disappointed in the way we were treated when the only reason we were in town was to represent y all s town for the mermaid parade which we walked in it for over two hours and after we re done we just wanted to enjoy a good atmosphere here and got shot down. Just FYI we were the highlight of the parade and pretty much on your news. If we do any interviews we won t have anything good to say about your bar.

Great place to get your social fix during a night or day out on the town. Great atmosphere, crowd, music and drink specials. This has to be the best bar/restaurant on the San Marcos Square. Their bartenders the fastest bartenders and always makes sure to get drinks out as fast. Definitely my favorite place to go to on the square. They are the bomb!

Keep your receipts!!! I caught one of the servers adding to their tip and when i tried to call the bar to fix it, no one answered. I called 3 times. This really pisses me off because i gave a 22% tip which i thought was more than fair, and the server still had the nerve to add to his tip.

This bar is not good if youre someone other than a blonde sorority girl/ frat guy. If youre any other skin color, hair color, etc you might as well get out because they arent very accepting of anyone outside of these standards. I witnessed some serious discrimination tonight on who was let onto the back patio. They claimed to be social distancing, but when some skinny little blonde girl walked right to the front skipping the whole line (after having not been on the patio prior) she was let in without question. Maybe nobody else noticed, but I did. This is so unacceptable. The icing on the cake was getting kicked out after I called the bouncer out for his actions. My friends and I constantly witness certain groups being provided more attention at the bar than others. If youre latino/black youre going to be ignored. I will never go here again.

ALWAYS pay cash. Or if you pay with card keep track of how much they charge you because I paid a cash tip on both of my drinks and so I put 0 for a credit card tip and they went ahead and added 2 dollars to each of the tickets at the end of the night. I didnt realize until the bank processed the charges. I disputed both transactions with my bank and got reimbursed.

Best bar in San Marcos. They treat you like family here and the owners are so hands on that I can never thank then enough m. I love everyone there and the countless memories that I made there! This place needs 6 stars. I love the fact 7year later they still hang my flag that i gave to to them. Drinks are always good and they can make up some amazing drinks per your request. And lastly, the infamous game face drink is something you need to try.

Horrible experience tonight. Came in for my birthday with some friends. We were told they had $3 drink specials. I was charged $15 and change for two drinks, until a friend offered to pay for them, then the bartender started flirting with her and offered them to her for free. As a paying customer, I will not come here again and be overcharged for drinks, and not even be offered a birthday shot.

Not once but twice have I had issues with them. For my 21st birthday the bouncer felt the need to not let me in because I was too close to him. It was the 1st bar we had gone too as well. Second time I go to get a drink and I get charged 2 extra dollars on a Long Island because apparently they have a fee for closing a tab (which he never told me when he charged me). Not only did it mess with my attitude but it ruined my experience both times going (or trying to go). If you read this there are other bars on the square to go to.

Attention to detail with the drinks. Never watered down. If anything, stronger than any other bar downtown. The drinks are what keep me coming back. I always make sure I get my drinks there, before WASTING money else where. The music is more chilled during the week. They up it a lil on the weekends with a DJ. Awesome place to head, when you need to get away from the crowds and lines at the bar.
