I ordered delivery from Uber Eats and the food was AMAZING!! I saw so many negative reviews so I was skeptical and approached this as a true food critic. The food arrived hot, in separate bags, and ready to eat! I ordered the fried calamari, and the sweet & sour pork (both staples in my house growing up so I had high hopes). They added so many extra add ons into the bag that most restaurants would forget! + fortune cookies. The portions were incredibly large (for those of you complaining about the $17 price), this food fed both me and my fiancé and we spent $29! (with tax and fees). We still have leftovers for lunch tomorrow! This food was delicious, wholesome, and left an amazing taste in our mouths! Will be coming back often!

Ill preface this by saying that Chinese food in Texas is very very bad. Im used to NY chinese food, which is amazing. That being said, I dont understand the bad reviews. Funny thing is the really horrible chinese spots have good reviews. Cant speak for the seafood boils, but the Chinese food at Kasian is the most solid and consistent I have found anywhere in between San Antonio and Austin. There isnt even a close second actually. Keep up the good work.

Excellent! When you order take-out, they put some of the food in those chinese boxes. I felt like those vampires from Lost Boys . If that werent reason enough to visit, the food is great, too! Try the General Tsos, the Teriyaki Chicken on a stick, or the lo-mein.

We ordered delivery from K Asian through GrubHub. Not being from this area, we were a little concerned about what we would get. Pleasantly surprised and pleased! We ordered the kung pao chicken, sesame chicken, egg drop soup, egg rolls, fried rice, and white rice. Both entrees arrived piping hot and both were exceptionally good. The kung pao was loaded with chicken, celery, peanuts, and lightly sauced. The sesame chicken arrived with broccoli, lightly battered, perfectly sauced, and very fresh. The egg drop soup was hot and served with crispy wonton strips. The egg rolls were crisp and filled with the perfect ratio of ingredients. The fried rice was a little lacking, but I rarely eat the rice, so that didn t affect this review. The portions are large. We have enough for another meal and a half. Highly recommend. Our total was $49.36, but that does include GrubHub fees plus tip. Great value for great food.

I didnt want to write out a review since Ive seen how theyve responded to negative reviews in the past (not always the best) but after a comment telling me that they cant fix anything if they dont know what the problem is (Im paraphrasing a little bit) fine, Ill tell you what was wrong. We wasted $45 here. Yes you read that right, wasted. The food was excessively greasy, the only edible thing was literally the egg rolls. The food was drenched in sauce which was overwhelming and gross, and when you could taste anything it was bland af. The food didnt come out at the same time despite us ordering everything all together. Honestly the food at Panda Express tastes better than the food here, which is quite a statement if you ask me. I didnt want to leave a review because I really didnt have anything nice to say. I was expecting a lot more for a place that charges damn near $50 for a couple of entrees and two sodas.

We ordered to go. When we got home, we saw that one of our eggrolls had a bite taken out of it!! And the sesame chicken was under cooked.- My mistake was not taking pictures of the issues with our order. I do not write negative reviews often, so I am being completely honest here. It s upsetting that when I called the restaurant to let them know the state of our order, the guy that answered the phone implied that there was no way that what I was saying is true and basically said we are lying. Seriously?!? He gave me many reasons why what I was saying isn t true, instead of an apology. Now that I see other reviews on here, our experience was identical. The sesame chicken was under cooked! It seems to be an ongoing issue. And there was a massive bite out of an egg roll that was still in the bag. Don t need to make that up. Never going back to this place again.

If you like seafood do NOT order the crawfish. Im cajun. I grew up on crawfish boils. I can taste the difference between old frozen crawfish and fresh crawfish. If you are paying almost $20 a pound for crawfish, it had better be fresh not frozen. These are definitely frozen and they taste rotten and dried out. They are also terribly underseasoned. I wish I could get my money back because the whole 2 pounds is going straight into the trash.

So my family and I went and tried this restaurant for the first time and it did not disappoint! First of all the customer service was great, from the cashier to the cook who actually brought our food to us! The portions are big for the price, and the food is hot, fresh, and delicious! We finally have a good Chinese food restaurant in town! I would highly recommend this place! We will definitely be back!

We just happened into this place. They had a lot of variety including a secret menu. The food was really good and the portions were large. I also like that they had a kiosk where you could order your food by yourself, or you could wait and talk to the person behind the counter in order with them. The atmosphere was good, its kind of a smaller place to sit, the only problem we had was that some guy who was tweaking on something came in there to come down. Besides that, everything was good and we definitely would return.

Not what I expected. Looked at the reviews and thought it was going to be really good. I mean the customer service was excellent the young cashier was really helpful and friendly but the food I got I mean don t get me wrong the portion was a lot but it made me sick. I got the orange chicken ,fried rice and egg roll lunch special. The orange chicken had such an ugly taste it was not what I expected. My family got other lunch special options as well and didn t like it either.

My husband and I drove in from out of town after seeing the restaurant advertised on Google. I was under the impression that the food was made to order and was authentic not something you get at an average buffet. It was not even buffet quality, it was more like premade fast food. We wanted to try one of their seafood boils and they had a nightly special. It was extremely overpriced so we stuck to the Asian menu. They charged extra for fried rice which is unusual for an Asian restaurant, the egg rolls we ordered tasted freezer burned, and my chef special of Beijing beef was fried beef onions and green peppers in what tasted like sweet and sour sauce you get from a bottle at the grocery store with some hot sauce added to it. I only had two bites. The egg drop soup was bland as well. Maybe the restaurant business isn t what it used to be, but I make better Chinese food at home. The total for the meal was $36.09, and while they gave a large amount portion wise the food was poorly made. It only took them five minutes to bring everything out to our table including the main course. If your looking for quality made Chinese food done made to order I don t recommend this place. Note to reader this is NOT a buffet. Didn t want a buffet type meal.

Good food. Glad I finally tried this place. Good Asian food can be a little hard to find sometimes in Texas. The other place in San Marcos that impressed me even more was Xian Sushi and Noodle. I like to judge a place by their kung Pao chicken and Kasian Gardens was pretty close to perfect. Fried rice was pretty good and egg rolls were good. Can t wait to try more!

The service along with food was decent, but my main course of peppered steak was more like peppered onions! I literally had 6 small strips of actual meat on my plate compared to what seemed like 2 whole onions smothering the steak strips. That is ridiculous especially given the price of the food. The same happened with everyone in the party I was with, all different from what I ordered. Some had chicken, along with shrimp as well; and everyone had like no to minimal amounts of actual protein (meat) with what they ordered. Its sad when the prices have risen to the point which we pay today and the quality as well as quantity gets worse in everything us consumers pay our hard-earned money on.

This place was so disappointing. I am giving it two stars because the Chinese food looked ok. Service was rough. Three people in the front of the house and one was literally sitting on the counter, another was sitting in the cupboard under the POS system and not sure where the other was half the time. An empty restaurant at 7pm should have been a dead giveaway. I went with the seafood boil and asked for extra spicy and all the flavors. What I received was pure disappointment. The food was so bland, I considered getting a covid test to see if this was just me, but sadly no. I have had chamoy candy spicier than their extreme spicy. For anyone expecting a real boil, be aware these folks use basically just garlic salt and the butter they use tasted like that flavored soybean oil substitute. I understand that there will probably be an owner response to this, but hear me when I say the error is in the shortcuts taken and wont get better until you change how you cook. For almost 30 bucks for 2 pounds of mud bugs, I should have just gone to red lobster. At least I would have had biscuits.

I am in love with this place. I knew this place when it was first just Asian garden on Guadalupe Street. A friend of mine and I would always meet up every couple months to die in here. I have been coming to this place before and after it s changed since my freshman year of college, and I am now 26. I still come to this place till this day, I have introduced countless of friends and family to this restaurant and they always want to come back when they visit. I love that on top of the Asian menu, they also have a lot of Kasian options which I have to admit are so good and pretty well priced compared to a lot of the seafood places around here. The flavors that they offer our top-tier and I love their seafood boils! I have noticed that you get way more when dining in because let me tell you they load up your plate!

My absolute favorite place for takeout in San Marcos!! The portions are generous, the staff is friendly, and the taste is so so so good. I love when I get what I pay for. The best crab rangoons ever! Also, very customizable if you are vegetarian or pescatarian like me! Lots of vegetable options, and you can sub in tofu for a number of dishes. Never had anything that wasnt tasty here and I always leave full and happy.

Decided to try this place for the first time because my old stand-by changed ownership and quality went with it, and other highly rated places were really not doing it for me. This is my new spot for Chinese!! We ordered orange chicken, sesame chicken, and two types of lo mein. It was a delivery order thru DoorDash and it was ready super fast, came hot, and was all really delicious. Lots of flavor, and huge portions. Plenty for leftovers. The crab Rangoon and spring rolls were also great. Prices were good for how much food we got. I have nothing bad to say. 10/10

Had to hands down be the worst Chinese I have had in years. Buffets are better than this place. My beef lo mein tasted like they cooked it in old seafood oil, actually everything tasted that way. My husbands dish had no real flavor and even the fried rice was eh. To top off our dine in experience we got to hear someone screaming from the kitchen the whole time. Usually we give places a second chance, this will not be a place we will.

First of all I never ever leave reviews to places I go to but this one I have to. When me and my wife walked in there were two girls at the register, one was helping a customer and the other one literally turned her back on us and as someone else walked in she helped them out and left us for last and not only that but she was then very rude with an attitude towards us. Second they gave us the wrong food that we ordered and we had to sit there waiting for our food that honestly was not worth the money. Way too pricey for just a little bag of seafood that tasted horrible. I highly DO NOT recommend this place, I repeat do not waste your hard worked money and precious time in that place called Kasian Garden. I would give zero star if it was possible.

So we got the seafood boil it had one lobster tail with a cluster of crab legs food was really good but I literally only got one little circle of sausage but everything else was really good seasoning on the food was really good the potatoes were good the corn was a little hard but it was good Just no sausage like there was literally none in there it s up one little piece maybe I ll just order extra sausage next time but the lobster tail was amazing lots of meat and shrimp was on point.I hope it is this good next time we come..

Clean environment and excellent polite staff. The problem is, the food is WAY overpriced for the ingredients they use. I paid $10 for calamari and it is imitation squid, has the texture of a Tyson Chicken nugget. They dont even use real squid for their calamari. The chicken as well is cheap. Youre better off going to pho88, where they have pretty low prices for using fresh REAL ingredients. The staff though was excellent and so nice, and it is very clean inside. Credit where it is due.

Had a great experience with this place on my first visit. Service was fast, food was flavorful, portions were huge and my total bill was about $15 including tax and tip. I suspect you could get out for less if you did not order the combination plate, as I did. Definitely will be going back, repeatedly. Their use of some of the old Which Wich signage (they took over after the WW there folded) is hilarious.

I ve been grabbing dinner from here and WOW best Chinese food here in SM. I like that they give the option to add spicy to your dish. I m very happy to say i FINALLY found a Chinese spot that I can really enjoy after 6years of searching for a spot here in SM. Thank you for existing. Great little Chinese/Thai restaurant near Texas State campus. We went there around 6 pm during spring break and it was pretty empty and very clean. The staff always greets customers upon entry and their serving time is very fast. They offer free water and most of their meals are under $10. Me and my friend had the pad Thai noodles and fried rice with egg rolls as apatizer. All their dishes were tasty and the pad Thai could be shared by two people easily. If you want an authentic Asian cuisine experience do try this place out.

I ve been to Kasian Garden about 3 times and the crab rangoons are the best thing ever. The lady at the front was a bit short with customers but the food was still good

I think this place rates four stars on the foods merit, but gets a Texas Five Star rating, because of the slim pickings for Chinese food in San Marcos. Asian places here seem to be predominantly sushi or Thai -- there arent many actual Chinese restaurants. Anyway, I got take-out, and it was solidly respectable. I usually get Chicken w/Mixed Vegetables when trying a new Chinese place and it was on par with anywhere else Ive been. Id eat here again.

Their website will allow you to place an order on the day they are closed. No warning, no date they will deliver. It takes your order and charges your credit card. It even says delivery ASAP. I guess ASAP is the next business day. What a rip off! I hope I can get my money back. I sure dont want their food now.

Place looks old and dungy, sign hanging off. The food taste like old seafood that needs to be cooked to get rid of. Very expensive place and not worth it. Spent over $50 for a boil of one crab claw. The seasoning for the boils, was predominantly just oil/butter then flavor. The service was horrible had to wait more than 10 minutes to get someone to ring my order while both waiters were on the phone ignoring the customer. I won t be back trust me! Save your time and money! And go somewhere else.

I took my Asian mom and grandma here for the first time as they have been looking for food that is even close to authentic Chinese food. We all really enjoyed the food here. The beef dishes were spot on, the broccoli wasnt over cooked or under cooked and the curry chicken was my favorite. Customer service was also really good. Finally, a good Chinese restaurant in San Marcos!

Finally! A decent Asian restaurant in San Marcos! More than decent, this place is one of the best Asian joints Ive been to since I moved from Singapore over ten years ago. So far everything from the Pad Thai to their Hunan Shrimp has been absolutely fantastic. They have a fairly broad Pan-Asian menu, but dont let it deter you. So far everything has surpassed my expectations. Fast delivery and what awesome customer service!
