We did the boat tour twice! Once during the day and then again a few days later at night. Both tour guides were great and we heard something different from each one which we loved! The river is gorgeous at night with all the lights. Worth $14 a person! And worth doing it twice! We didn t have to wait at all.

Because of a problem with my back & constantly having to move I cant do confined spaces! but I didnt have to explain any of that to our guide ( I think his name was Nick?) All I had to say was... I cant do confined spaces & he moved all of his bags so I could sit at the back! Personally I can find history tours a bit boring but he kept it light and funny! He was also very knowledgeable! I wish I had had someone like him as my history teacher! This visit was out of season so there were no queues but August was a different story!! If you go at peak times and want to do it at night then get there early or give yourself plenty of time to queue!!

The boat tour at night was amazing. Captain Mitch was amazing and humorous. The wait time was about 30 minutes on a busy Sunday night on the labor day weekend. The line seemed long at first but moved very fast. The whole tour lasted about 30 minutes and was great to see riverwalk all around at night.

Wanted to experience the gandola boat tour. As most of the folks who opt for ride are tourists, the experience of folks providing the tour was horrible. When we tried to ask details to one of the lady who was managing it, she did not even bother answering back to us forget about greeting. She did not even bother to look at us. The ticket counter folks were irritated to answer questions. I think with number of folks taking they are not bothered about customer service, its like if not you we have many other customers The only reason went ahead was my kids wanted to do it. Would recommend to look for other options.

The tour is great if you dont get on Maggies boat. She spent more time talking about churros and Brad Pitt than she did actually teaching us anything about the buildings or history. We walked by dozens of other boat rides and heard more interesting information just passing by than we heard on our actual tour. It was cool when she sang in German though. If she had done more of that, I would give two stars.

Surprisingly entertaining and interesting. I expected the Riverwalk to be more of less a tourist trap--and it certainly is that but it was actually much more beautiful of an area than I expected. The bridges and the winding river and trees create a shady oasis during the hot days and the multicolored lights add to the atmosphere at night. The boat tour is the best way to see and appreciate the whole area. We took the tour in the evening, and the boats were beautifully lit with various colors. Our tour guide was engaging and funny. Even though the boat was full, it was easy to hear the guide and we received a good overview of the buildings and history of the area, along with some funny anecdotes. There are several embarkation points and many boats that run late into the night, but there was still a line to get on. So definitely allow at least an hour for the activity. We were lucky, as we approached the ticket booth inside the mall, a couple offered us their unused tickets for free. I do think the tour is well worth the money. Especially if its your first visit. Alternatively, you can buy tickets for boats that run more like a bus would up and down the river, which we definitely plan to try on our next vsit to see more of the less busy parts of the riverwalk.

Take this short tour First to familiarize yourself with the layout, stores/restaurants, and adjacent hotels and surface streets around (and above) the main canals. What we didnt like were the rude and pushy Go Rio employees standing in front of the Aztec stop. They attacked us every time we walked by and when we would try to just pass by and ignore them they would utter something rude to us. We dreaded walking past them on the River Walk. It was the worst part of our vacation.

GO RIO Boat Tours in San Antonio Our experience with GO RIO Boat Tours in San Antonio was absolutely unforgettable, thanks in large part to Carlos M. Before our boat ride even started, my son accidentally dropped his beloved Lightning McQueen cup overboard. Carlos and another tour guide didnt hesitate they made it their mission to retrieve the cup, showcasing their dedication and kindness, it was a moment of pure happiness when the cup was retrieved and all aboard clapped for my sons reunion with his KACHOW cup! Not only did they succeed in recovering the cup, but they also ensured that our entire tour was a fantastic experience. Carlos had enthusiasm and professionalism and made the tour both enjoyable and informative. Carlos went above and beyond, turning what could have been a disappointing moment into a highlight of our trip. We are incredibly grateful for the outstanding service and heartwarming efforts of Carlos M. 8pm tour + the GO RIO team. This experience truly made our visit to San Antonio special. I brought my 7,12&13 yr olds with me & they loved it as well! The tour was abt 20 minutes long. I wish we went at night to see all the cool lights. We went during the day and had a blast tho! I also suggest bringing some cash to tip but they also have a card with their personal Venmo on it. If you go through CITYPASS dont go directly in the boat line bc they cant scan your phone out there. U MUST go INSIDE for them to scan your barcode n give u physical tickets. Not like all the other CITYPASS attractions where u scan n go.

Go Rio River Boat Tour is a must-have in your wishlist if you plan to visit San Antonio. The River Walk is one of the most popular tourist spots here and bustles with tourists, local, kids. I visited on Monday! - a regular weekday around 3:30-4pm and found the place more crowded than I expected on a Monday! -- Mostly people on vacation and some locals too. The Go Rio River Boat Tour has three ticket counters and the boat sails every hour, the tour takes almost 45-50 minutes to cover. It may give you a Venice lite feel !! Our guide was a very friendly and cordial guy who has been giving the tour for the last 20yrs if not more than that. He explained almost all the buildings situated by the banks, told magnificent stories of how those buildings, hotels were made, showed us some excellent food joints for pizza, tex-mex foods, beverages etc. Before boarding the boat, you will be photographed which you may buy later on. Overall it remains a beautiful experience and I recommend this tour.

Its a good experience. I would like it to cover more information about the city beyond what is on the Riverwalk. However, it mightve been because sadly we had to share the ride with people who didnt respect and couldnt be silent and understand the tour focus.

This is a highly sought after activity on the Riverwalk. You can anticipate longer lines in times of travel, so plan accordingly! The trip is 30-40 minutes long and it is filled with so much history. Our guide was very funny and had a lot of personal connections to different locations part of the tour. We would highly recommend this as part of your trip in the area.

Great little boat trip through the Riverwalk. The best time to do this is when the Christmas lights are still up, it adds an extra special feeling to the cruise. The tour guides are great and add a level of humor as well as the history of the area and buildings. The kids love it and worth doing at least once.

The boat ride was pretty good, the christmas and the new years decor was fabulous, the captain was extremely tired and bored. Could sense he could barely talk and explain. The ticket says a hot chocolate would be included, however, none was provided!

Waited over an hour for the Christmas lights tour. I saw many boats going around empty or just a few passengers.

The tour was quite good. I found the line surprisingly fast, despite having a lot of people. The barges are very large and could hold our group at ease in the middle of new years eve.

My family came into town, and this was their first boat ride. We had OC, and he was amazing! He was very knowledgeable about every part of the river and had some great jokes in there as well! It was a couple of days before Christmas, but the lights and having a great guide made it so much better!
