Great place for a cold drink and/or a bite to eat. Has an eclectic decor but nice. Service was excellent and they have seating inside and outside. Relaxing place to enjoy music as they have both an indoor and outdoor stage.

Overall, this was a great space to come and unwind from a day at work. A buddys sister told us about the place, so we thought it was worth checking out. The atmosphere was very cozy with the option of outdoor space. We visited while the icehouse was hosting an open mic and the performers were great. (We saw one poet and two stand-up routines) Service was exceptional and genuine. And the queso is one of the best Ive had, we had ours with chips and pork-rinds which was phenomenal. At the time that we went, we had to do street parking which wasnt bad but there is a lot behind the icehouse, just not sure if its used more so on the weekends.

The most welcoming and amazing spot in all of San Antonio! You won t find a place like the Dakota. Nothing but hilarious comics and amazing musicians. Ive traveled to San Antonio many times. In the spirit of the Texas Restaurant Association...Eat local, Eat often This is definitely a local favorite spot found a little bit away from the been-there-done-that Riverwalk area. This eclectic staple has everything needed to enjoy an exciting dining experience. My initial impression was hole in the wall small bar vibe followed by a friendly face at the bar. The bartender quickly greeted us and handed us a couple menus and said please have a seat and come back to me when youre ready to order. The menu was simple but full of surprises to a classic menu. For example, they had a hotdog that screamed TexMex meets Chicago. The layed back bar vibe was accompanied by an amazing small live performance. A must stop if you are in the downtown/East San Antonio area.

Super bro vibe here I was here on Juneteenth weekend during an Open Mic there were some really tasteless n word jokes directed at me specifically. I was also referred to as a Puerto Rican, and jeered at about speaking Spanish. These are typical and familiar race jokes, theyre simply not funny in presentation or otherwise. They stage comedian(s) getting fake booed as their going up to the stage. This place was def gentrified, but the patrons seem to have no respect for the space or the energy that lives there. This place lacks talent, and has a bro vibe of all the guys basically thumbing each other up. Talent is lacking entertainment wise and professionalism and ethics on the business side. How funny thisentity no doubt was probably owned by a person of color. On a side note, The bartender was extremely accommodating.

A tucked gem in San Antonio. I usually go for the Jazz jams Thursday nights and find myself wanting to stay longer. Absolutely awesome bar, and awesome staff. The patio is relaxing and nice, with a great vibe inside as well. I even accidentally ordered a bunch of non-alcoholic beers to take with me. When we went back the next day, they said I could bring them back and exchange them. Really great service, and OH YEAH the food is awesome. The brisket biscuits are insane, the pizza is delicious, and the whole place is very friendly. If you re near here, it is worth the stop by!

Dakota Ice house is a great place to catch up with some friends. The music is not so loud that you cant hear the person next to you. The patty melt was superb. Everyone was gracious and treated me, a police woman, so graciously. Im not getting the comment by patty Tom stating if youre a, Make America Great person, this place isnt for you. We went on a really busy night. The bean and cheese nachos were good. they just need more beans. The chips and queso were really good if the chips werent so stale. Staff was all over the place a bit. We love our local Eastside bar! Do not leave there without ordering a Hackberry Express. Thank me later. Also, the nachos are simple but perfect like from your childhood latch key days, and the sliders are addicting. Beer on tap is always cold and perfect. The team is always on it, attentive, but also cool af. Ill say this about the crowd there, if youre a make America great again kind of person, this 100% is not the place for you. Youre welcome to go, but you wont like it, which is one of the MANY reasons why I love it. This place feels like home with the theater kids, misfits, nerds, artists, creatives, musicians, and local folk who make our city a better place. They also just opened a coffee shop on the property and I cant wait to try it soon. Theres an outdoor area and indoor area. Its dog friendly, as long as you have them on a leash. Its LGBTQIA+ friendly and if youre a we are the weirdos mister kinda vibe, this is your spot. Most of the time, its all ages, which we love with our teen.

Its been several years since I last reviewed the Dakota East Side Ice House. We discovered the Dakota about five years ago - shortly after we moved into Denver Heights. Its proprietor Kent is amazing at making you feel at home. The Dakota isnt just a neighborhood institution because you will inevitably meet your neighbors there - its an institution because that seems to be the reason that the Dakota exists. Kent is an amazing entrepreneur - but I feel as though his goal isnt financial success as much as building a strong local community. But... more important than any of that... we need to talk about the chicken sandwich. The Spicy Chicken Sandwich is probably the best chicken sandwich Ive ever had... anywhere... ever. If you havent tried it yet, please do so as soon as possible.

Have been wanting to check this place out since they opened, so a group of us decided to head out early on a Saturday and enjoy some food and drinks at this Eastside Neighborhood Bar on a nice SA winter day. The patio area is large and great for groups, while the inside is a bar going down the length of the inside that started to get packed with people as we ate and drank outside. They are really a beer and wine bar, with lower alcohol (like wine vodka). Beer selection was good and they pour a large pint + of draft beers. The bartender was friendly and gave some recommendations for food (I will have to come back for the carnitas!). We decided to go with the Sishitos & Sausage and the Nacos for my vegetarian friend. It was a good start for our night to hold us over for our bar hoppin night and got a Snoop shirt with a purchase of his sparkling wine!

Great selection of food. I was there on a Sunday at 5 pm, they had a poetry open mic inside and it has ac and was too loud to have a conversation. Sat outside and i was bitten by mosquitoes so bring OFF. Then they had live music outside. I shared the chilli frito pie, the salad, sausage and shishito peppers and a personal dize margherita pizza. Next time i will try their adult beverages and go for their night artisan market.

I really had a fun night. The inside area had a band and offered beer & wine (no mixed drinks), really loud inside and a little small but the bar servers were very friendly. We sat outside in the backyard where there was another band playing. It truly felt like hanging out in someones backyard...except with a live band. A great place to hang for a few hours and listen to live music and enjoy beer and wine that was not terribly over priced. It does seem like they are still trying to figure out service, though -- they served a kids hot dog with no ketchup and no napkins, and later served a wedge salad without a knife. They were nice about getting them for me, but I had to go inside and wait at the bar to ask. There are few options for vegetarians and none for vegans. Overall, I liked the place, but its kind of overpriced for what you get -- although I suppose high food prices are hitting them too.

I can t believe that I haven t visited The Dakota East Side Icehouse yet, considering I go to every single UTSA Football game! It s within walking distance of the Alamodome will be our new post game after party spot. While we were there the owner was talking to us about the incredible back story behind this charming East Side hangout spot. The tacos were great, but that pork queso is addicting! Great live music venue, good food, friendly staff. Went to see local legendary band Volcán in the outdoor patio. Plenty of seating and beautiful exterior. Ordered nachos which has tons of cheese and were tasty. They also had non-alcoholic beer. Rachel was attentive and friendly. She even brought my food and drink out to me. Clean bathrooms and my body is still shaking from the great great show.

Upscale geminized neighborhood bar with decent food. I would call it great food but every time I ordered a flatbread pizza the crust gets soggy.... they keep promising to cook it a little longer but they never do. still a 5 Star experience especially when the band is playing.
