What a Fantastic Find. We travel to San Antonio often and always try to find new places to eat. Someone asked if we had ever been to The Pearl. The Pearl is not a restaurant, but a place we found out. If you dont know what I am talking about, Google - San Antonio Pearl District. We settled on Cured. Settled is the wrong choice of words because this restaurant is AMAZING. From the atmosphere to food to services. It was so fantastic we even bought their cookbook. Since the initial visit, we have recommended and eaten there more times than I can count and it truly never disappoints. You can not go without enjoying one of the Charcuterie boards to share amongst the table. Their Lobster Cavatelli and one of their Tender Dry Aged Steaks and Fries are a must.

Fun morning date after walking around the Pearl farmer s market. The building is really cool, being a converted brewery. The service was exceptional, polite, and attentive. The owners stopped by the table with recommendations and to ensure we were enjoying our meal. Loved every moment. Charcuterie board was a lot of fun to be adventurous. Menu offerings you wouldn t find anywhere else. Definitely a unique spot that s worth a visit. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options

Been here twice and the service was ok once and not great the second time. The food is outstanding, the beer and wine menu - cool. But why not have a description of your cocktails? Especially when you cant Google what a couple are. Both times the servers seemed to be fueding and kind of fighting over whoever HAS TO wait on people. They neither one seemed to want to be working.

I ended my quick San Antonio trip by treating myself to a fancy late lunch to finish off my weekend of culinary adventures. I had a wonderful server, Rebecca, who guided me through the menu selections. I took many of her recommendations. Blackberry Jam Mint Julep - Garrison Brothers Bourbon, mint, blacknerry jam all over finely crushed ice. Beautifuly prepared and beautiful to look at. Charcuterie - 120 day cured Coppa, Smoked Duck Ham, Dapper Goat Chevre, goat milk ...they were accompanied by Gochujang mustard, fig jam, sweet bourbon pickles, and crispy crackers. Absolute delishness! Boudin Empanadas w/smoked tomato ranch sauce, bread & butter pickles. Every bite was heavenly. Unfortunately did not have any space in my body for desserts, but Rebecca brought me a tiny warm tart with a jam-like filling to finish off a fantastic meal. Such a wonderful end to my San Antonio Trip. It was great meeting you, seeing you, and eating you!

My wife and I came around 6pm on a Sunday. It honestly didnt look open from outside but it was great once inside. We ordered the pick 6 charcuterie: pimento cheese, goat cheese, Pork rilletes, beef bresaola, duck ham and the sobrassada. This was amazing. The extras on the plate included a sweet mustard, a gojugang mustard, bread n butter pickles. Watermelon rind, and a couple of jams. The plate was impeccable. We then ordered the half chicken Sunday supper (4 pieces of chicken). This surely did not disappoint. Chicken was crispy and literally steaming, the grit were amazing as well. The greens could be stewed down a bit more for my liking. Really only down fall is No Dr. Pepper, only coke products.

We used to get the Blue Ribbon Burger but today it looked like they were rationing. The burger was so pitiful, the buns were touching. The patty was no more than an inch and a half across with nothing else on it. Fries are an extra $6 charge, not included as a side with your meal like anywhere else, ever. We ordered empanadas which came with ONE pitiful empanada, which I ve ordered before and came with a few Stop changing the menu! Keep the PBR and other beers stocked. We had confit duck, kids burger, 2 salads, a few beers and one cocktail. Cocktail was a very small serving for $16. The meats were all done well and flavorful, salads were fresh, charcuterie we didn t try as we were told very thin 5 slices of meat for $28. Our bill was $150. I think the food is decent but quite over priced. Wait staff was attentive, Robert I think is the owner definitely appreciates the business, design of the place was unique. Cured is an absolute gem in San Antonio! I was traveling for work and ubered to the Pearl district for dinner without a plan or reservations. I peeked into a few places but ultimately ended up at Cured. I received a warm welcome from Bob and behind him the ultimate eye candy of cured meats. My salted ham Virginia heart nearly leapt out of my chest when I reviewed the menu. The atmosphere is fantastic and and chill without a hint of stuffiness. I travel solo for work frequently and I felt very comfortable and welcomed at the bar. The menu has a tasteful selection of wines by the bottle and glass at respectful price points. I had a glass of viognier to start and then noticed a stellar whiskey selection. The bartender recommended a local San Antonio whiskey, Maverick Whiskey, and expertly made my favorite cocktail. The menu is ideal for sharing among friends or in my case, devouring solo. I had the shrimp salad and a charcuterie plate. Everything was presented beautifully. I loved the accompaniments for the charcuterie. The Texas star of my selections was the rillettes with apple and jalapeno. I could eat that every day and not get tired. I hope I get to visit San Antonio again. Cured will be at the top of my list for the friendly hospitality and delicious food.

My visit to Cured on a Friday evening was nothing short of delightful. The tranquil ambiance allowed for an exceptional dining experience. Our server, Kegan, was simply terrific, ensuring our evening was memorable. We started with a trio of appetizers: the Kale Salad, Tempura Squash Blossom, and Boudin Empanadas. The Kale Salad was a refreshing start, bursting with vibrant flavors. The Tempura Squash Blossom, although a bit chewy, could have benefited from a slightly crunchier texture. Nonetheless, it was a unique and enjoyable dish. The Boudin Empanadas, however, were perfection rich, savory, and beautifully executed. Accompanying our appetizers was a Mojito Mocktail, crafted to perfection with a balanced blend of flavors that was both invigorating and refreshing. Given that we had enjoyed a late lunch earlier that day, we limited our experience to these exquisite appetizers. However, the quality and creativity of the dishes have certainly whetted our appetites for a more extensive exploration of the menu on our next visit. We were treated to a complimentary pecan tart, which was absolutely amazing. It was the perfect sweet ending to our meal, showcasing the restaurant s attention to detail and commitment to delighting their guests. Cured has truly earned its five-stars in my book, and I look forward to returning soon!

I came here for my birthday a few days ago Huge mistake. Our server was rude, disrespectful, inattentive, even a bit combative when we asked questions about the menu. She completely ruined the experience for us. To make matters worse, the fire alarm went off for several minutes in the middle of our meal. We had to run outside to escape the noise. The restaurant was not apologetic, and did nothing to try to make up for the inconvenience. One of the main reasons people go to nice restaurants is for the experience, not just the food. At the price point, I expected to have a good experience and was severely disappointed. Overall, my birthday was complete ruined. The only positive things I can say is that the manager was nice, and the food was good.

First of all, I just realized my previous review never posted (could be user-error)! My son and his fiancee at the time (now married), had their Rehearsal/Welcome dinner at Cured 12/29/23. Organizing this from a distance (Chicago) could have been a nightmare, but not with the professional staff (shout out to Veronica Luna and the owners/chef/servers!). We had a delightful tasting in the beginning of December on a visit to San Antonio, where the staff so graciously accommodated our short time in town. After determining the menu, the schedule, and how the restaurant would be staged (we had enough guests to close the restaurant), we were made to feel as though all would go well. Go well was an understatement - the night could not have been better! The waitstaff was superb - every time our guests turned around, they were offered an appetizer or beverage, or simply to clear away their plates. The sit-down portion of the meal was delightful - food arrived hot and delicious. Guests with dietary restrictions (gluten sensivity, vegetarian, vegan) were specially accommodated. The cocktails were perfect, the lighting was impeccable, and the whole experience made both the out-of-towners and the locals feel welcome and appreciated. Thank you, Cured! Our family would HIGHLY recommend Cured for your event, or for simply an evening out.

No cured meats on the menu (it is a board for crying out loud), just some sad pate and ground up pork. I left there thinking it was just another restaurant like you see in Dallas in an up and coming trendy neighborhood. Lacked flavor and the food was just slapped on the plate. I have to give credit that we had a good waiter and the building was pretty. Aside from that, 10/10 dont recommend, just another Trinity Oaks type place. Tourist trap, dont waste your time.

I originally ordered the brisket, but they came back and said they were out of the brisket so I ordered the Medina County Parisa. The description said it was wagyu beef. It ended up being a cold dish, which I did not know. This is partly my fault, but it would also be excellent service to mention that it is meat served cold when I ordered. It was brought up before my partners meal, so that was not ideal. I also ordered the empanadas, and they had an odd taste, as if the oil they were fried in was old or something? I barely ate any of the empanadas. My last hope was dessert. I ordered the chocolate pot du creme, and it was disappointing. The creme was almost tasteless. I had the same dish in Fredericksburg at Vaudeville, and it was delicious so Id been hoping for the best! I rarely write reviews, but I spent $45 on the items listed, and they all tasted bad.

Even Olive Garden knows to pour you a sample of wine when you order a bottle and let you decide if you want to continue with it no wine etiquette whatsoever, just filled that glass right up and it wasn t even a proper glass for a Cabernet. Charcuterie board was mediocre at best. I m not sure how to justify being named best charcuterie board in the city other than to say our poor city has absolutely no class at all. J Prime has a much better board, and a better wine selection with staff and managers that know how to properly serve wine and in the correct glass on top of it all. The $15 wedge salad wasn t any better than the one at BJ s Brewhouse that you can get for $4. Atmosphere was quaint. Duck ham was noteworthy to be fair. Won t be going back though.

Upscale restaurant in the Pearl Complex. Its small, and the acoustics leave people shouting at others at their table to be heard over the noise. The food is a curious fusion of flavors (e.g., lobster knuckle truffle gnocchi, bodin empanadas). Lots of pork. Charcuterie is a major player on the menu. They ran out of the more popular dishes early in the evening. So, if you want pork chops or the gnocchi, book an early reservation. And you will definitely need a reservation. ## Cured: A Delightful Bite, But Pricey Nestled within the Pearls historic charm, Cured offers a unique experience for San Antonio diners. From the moment you step inside, the rustic-chic ambience embraces you, setting the stage for a memorable evening. The service is top-notch, with attentive staff eager to guide you through their impressive menu. Now, lets talk about the star of the show: the cured meats. Theyre truly exceptional. Whether you opt for the charcuterie board or delve into individual selections, the high-quality ingredients and masterful curing techniques shine through. From the melt-in-your-mouth jamón Tejano to the rich, flavorful soppressata, each bite is a testament to Chef McHughs dedication to artisanal craftsmanship. However, its worth noting that the portion sizes, while beautifully presented, might leave some with a slightly lighter wallet than expected. While the quality justifies the cost to a certain extent, larger appetites might crave a bit more substance. Perhaps consider sharing plates or opting for additional sides to ensure a fully satisfying meal. Overall, Cured is a delightful restaurant offering an impressive selection of cured meats and a charming atmosphere. The attentive service adds to the enjoyment, making it a great choice for a special occasion or a memorable night out. Just be mindful of the portion sizes compared to the cost, and youll leave feeling equally satisfied and impressed. Highly recommended for the charcuterie board: - 75-day cured sobrassada (sausage) - 30-day cured pork loin - Dapper goat Chevre (cheese) Highly recommended appetizer: - Medina county parisa - Masa flash fried oysters Dietary restrictions: Good for carnivore diet if you skip the bread.

The service was good, however the food was not great. The steak frites tasted like they didn t season it at all & doused it in a strange tasting sauce. Also, for the amount of time it took to get to the table, it was undercooked. I understand as a filet takes longer to cook, especially if it s medium well, but I m pregnant & eating a steak halfway to realize the rest is undercooked is not great. The fries tasted like they were out of a freezer. The wedge salad was overpowered by smoke flavor (granted I did get ranch instead of blue cheese, and their ranch is some sort of smoked tomato ranch). Most definitely not worth the near $200 we spent there.

We even split everything in half to put in our fridge at the hotel to feast on later! The gin and tonics were the best ones we have ever had. The key is chareau, which is a plant based spirit made with California aloe. Delicious. Every time I took a sip, I commented on how amazing it smelled, as well as tasted. Our server, Britian, explained everything perfectly and was very attentive. We happened to arrive during happy hour, so we tried all of the 4 items. Our favorites were actually the boudin empanada and the kale salad. Cured rocks! We also got that black garlic cavatelli and loved it. However, I will say that it was a very small serving, so you might want to get 2 of them. We cant wait to come back!

A little bit disappointed with the food, especially they overcooked the 45 days dry aged angus to medium well from a medium rare order. Its a good cut of meat so what a waste! I didnt border to send it back since we were too full already and dont feel like waiting another 35min. The Charcuterie board is good but not a fan of the emulsified pork fat (pork butter). Really good service and good ambience though.

Service was excellent, Mark was awesome. Drinks were really good, had Pomegranate margarita and Sazerac. The food was tasty but not great. Arrived during happy hour so I was able to taste a few things at a good price. Quail legs were very delicate tasting and good. Boudin empanada was a big no for me. Spinach salad was average but could have had a little more dressing. Off the dinner menu, had Medina Parisa which was good as were the chicken livers but there were absolutely no sides. This would be a good place to go for snacks, but definitely not for dinner. I frequently try different restaurants, so I can say...Cured...been there, done that, but wouldnt go back.

Bryan provided outstanding service! Not too much, not too little. He can read a table well. I understand the menu rotates, but it had far fewer sections than I remember before. No oysters on the half shell, no bone marrow appetizer, and meat selections for entrees were limited. The drinks were great, but the food was bland. I had an old fashioned and my date had the pomegranate margarita. The pimento cheese and spinach salad were perfect. Everything else was bland, underwhelming, and cheaply done while being severely overpriced. I visited when this place first opened and it was incredibly good. Sad to see it decline. I will likely not return, but I do want to emphasize the service. The service was perfect.

Ordered the charcuterie as an appetizer. It tasted gamey, and the mustard combinations were extremely bitter. It had way too much currie powder, which made the experience rather unpleasant. The highlight of the tray was the goat cheese, which was really good and paired well with the meat selection. As a main course, I ordered their Blue Ribbon Burger, and it was the size of a slider from chilis with half the flavor. It was a small, overcooked meat patty on a cold potato bun with American cheese. It was the type of burger you would expect at a bbq for Little League. The meat was not seasoned at all, and it was rather tough to chew, not at all what I expected from wagyu. The French fries were decent, crisp, and salted just right. Overall, not what I expected. The entire meal was around $70 (my wife included). Cured is definitely not worth the money.

Soooo glad our waiter, Brian, explained the specialties of the house and convinced us to stay. cured cures all their own meat on sight and ages their own grass feed ribeye on sight. The cured meats and Pattis and picked items and cheeses that they spread out on their charcuterie board is beyond any I have ever experienced. Can not even describe all the different taste combinations you can create to party in your mouth with it. As for Brian, he was watching our every need and anticipating all the weird, specific request I could throw at him. I am not an easy customer. It felt like he was there on the food journey with us, like he prepared this himself and was trying to help us get all the amazing experiences that he himself got when he tasted it himself. Brian, I would like pastis, or absinth. Boom, he found it. Brian, Im not sure which wine I want with my steak, well lets just try a few.....

Visited for the first time and it was hands down, without question, one of the best experiences at any bar/restaurant Ive ever had. The outstanding trio of Jenn, Laura & Allie took tremendous care of us. They were friendly, professional and beyond proficient. Over our several hours there we enjoyed an array of cocktails (many of them foreign to us, but came highly recommend by the team) and also sampled several delicious foods. Quail legs. Theyre the new chicken wing. There wasnt a single item we ate or drank that we didnt enjoy. Additionally, the hospitality shown by the bar team was mirrored by everyone working in the establishment -- from the hostess, to the servers, expediter, all of them. It felt like we were family. It was beyond obvious to us that everyone working there enjoyed it and took great pride in what they do. Only one piece of constructive feedback for the management or owners: respectfully, you may want to consider swapping out your bar stools. They are ... well, you could find better ones. Given that you have a team of employees that clearly go above and beyond to enhance every aspect of your guests experience and make it as comfortable as possible, Im sure that comes from your leadership. The seats wont keep us from coming back. Just food for thought. Keep up the tremendous work!

If your looking for a blow your mind culinary experience there are better options not far away. Parking: Lots of paid parking but not close and pricey... street and free parking only if you dont care about your vehicle. Too many vagrants near by. Brunch menu was interesting, to say the least. I went with some kinda sloppy joe topped with an egg, but was not impressed at all. The meat filling was spread THIN on thick pieces of sourdough. I left one slice untouched. Fries were ok. Everyone else seemed happy w their hamburgers, chicken and doughnut, chick livers, and steak & eggs. The star of the show was the mini charcuterie platter we got. Definitely would want to come back for just charcuterie items, but wouldnt focus on actual food items next time. This place deserves a solid 5-star rating for consistently delivering exceptional experiences. On two of my visits, I specifically went for their happy hour, and I couldnt have been happier with my choice. The deals they offer during happy hour are genuinely unbeatable. Its a great way to enjoy delicious food and drinks without breaking the bank. Now, lets talk about the food. The burger at Cured is hands down one of the best Ive ever had. The flavor combination, the perfectly cooked patty, and the fresh toppings create a mouthwatering experience thats hard to forget. But thats not all the quail legs are also an absolute must-try. They are cooked to perfection, tender, and bursting with flavor. Its a unique dish that showcases the culinary expertise of the kitchen. Aside from the incredible food, the ambiance at Cured is also worth mentioning. The atmosphere is welcoming and laid-back, making it a great place to unwind after a long day. The staff is attentive, friendly, and always ready to accommodate any special requests. In summary, if youre looking for a spot in San Antonio that nails both the happy hour scene and fantastic food, Cured is the place to be. That is a mistake because this restaurant is unparalleled in service when it comes to all the places at the pearl. Seriously, none of the other places is all around this good at making people happy and making them feel appreciated. But also, ummm the food is absolutely spectacular. I took my parents here and we got both the least and most expensive meat dishes available. thats the sausage plate and the dry aged steak. Both were amazing. The beans in the sausage plate blew me away with their unique and unexpected texture that paired beautifully with the sausage. And oh man the dry aged steak is something of an experience that any steak fan needs to have at least once in their life.
