Stone Oak Park is one of our favorite spots! The trails are great, with both paved and unpaved options, and it s never too crowded. The playgrounds are perfect for kids, and it s a great place to bring your dog for some outdoor fun. Whether we re out for a walk, letting the kids play, or just enjoying nature, it s always a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to spend some time outdoors! Playground: Great playground for kids. Dog-friendliness: Leash required. Dog water fountains.

One of my favorite local trails offers several miles of concrete pathways on the south side of the park, along with a playground and outdoor exercise equipment. Across Stone Oak Parkway, the north side of the park features a mile-long loop with a cool cave and a natural vibe. For those looking for more adventure, there are some back country trails further north that can take you much farther than youd expect. Toilets: Porta-potty on the southside near the playground. Dog-friendliness: Plenty of folks out walking their dogs on the trails. No dog park. Check out Panther Springs for a good local dog park.

Cute park in the heart of Stone Oak. The park has 2, 1 Mike loops with scenic hill country views and gorgeous houses in the background. There is a playground for kids and other fun features. For runners the park is paved and offers a great 2 mile run but you do have to cross Stone Oak Parkway. Have fun and enjoy the outdoors! Playground: Good si,e playground for the kids Toilets: Are on-site but typical park restrooms Dog-friendliness: Definitely bring your 4 legged fun friends! Picnic area: Tables available under trees for shade and relaxing.

Beautiful park! Not a lot of shade, so bring water and a hat! Great geologic formations and even a couple caves, with one gated off. There is a water dam on one side of the trail and a work out station at the 1/4 mile spot on the trail. Cute statues all around trail junctions too.

Beautiful park to go with family. We went during the eclipse of 2024. There s a playground for kids and many walking trails with native plants. I did not see any restrooms, just a nasty porta potty that I would not step into because it was beyond disgusting. Other than that, the park itself was nice to have a picnic.

Doesnt have a restroom, port-a-potty only but overall, well definitely be back. Playground: plenty of slides to go around, but small enough to keep track of my kid. Interesting rock climbing-ish feature.

Super nice hiking trails and lovely playgrounds. This park is split into two sections -- one on either side of Stone Oak Parkway. One side has pretty extensive hiking trails and some cool caves. The other side has a shorter hiking circuit and a couple of well-maintained playgrounds. The main trails are well marked and pretty easy hiking. For the more adventurous, there are numerous small trails that branch off.

Good trail system for walking/running. Partly paved, mostly bumpy/pot holes. The trail north of the street has a couple cave entrances visible with some information. The south side of the street has a covered playground, small but great for younger kids. There is also an exercise equipment area, an amphitheatre, and the trail goes for about a mile to another much larger playground, and a school.

So went here to find some easy trails to start on with the kiddos. They have easy trails but only a small portion is smoothly paved. The other parts are rocky older pavement. The playground has nice shade tents on both the playground and rock feature. I would say the playground is good for 8 and below.. mostly for smaller ones.

Love this trailhead. I think it s only 3.3 mi if you go down and turn around and come back but it s a very nice quiet walk thru that little valley no one ever sees that s in stone oak. There s another trailhead across the street that runs north that I haven t done yet but looks fun. This trailhead I believe has portable bathrooms good places to stretch a little workout area and a covered pavilion if you want to do a HITT session or yoga out of the sun

The main parking lot is small, but there are two other lots you can park in. Bring up Google Maps Satellite view to find them if the main lot is full. We did the north trail and south trail and got 4.2 miles out of it. 98.6% of these trails are in the sun. I found one or two natural trails, but they didnt go far, so most of our time was spent on the paved trails. We got to see a couple of cool looking karst caves, but they were blocked off so you couldnt go into them. They still looked cool though. If you continue from the north trail to the south trail, there is a cool drainage culvert that you get to walk through and make all kinds of noise for echoes and fun stuff like that. Porta potties at the second trail head but nowhere else. No water either. Have fun out there folks!

Nice tucked away park. Went for the playground which was in pristine condition. One of the best playgrounds I have seen in a while, there was not one piece of trash on the ground. The were no signs of wear and tear on the play equipment, the were even stickers with suggested ages for equipment. There is a sun shade covering the playground and benches nearby to keep a watchful eye on your children. My only qualm was the rubber mulch, which I liked better than wood chips, stained the white bottoms of shoes, not a big deal to me. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Wonderful urban park with good trails, although mostly paved and thus tough on the knees. It also has a small amphitheater and area with small gym equipment. I was pleasantly surprised to see a fairly sizable crowd on weekday. It has a really cool part where the trail goes under a road, by making use of a regular storm water viaduct (see pic). Parking is limited, but do remember its on either side of TPC parkway, so be sure to check it out too. I wish that both parking would be connected by a small underpass, but one has to cross the road. Bit of inconvenience but not that bad....Great place to hang out. TIPS: 1. For a complete experience try both the north and south trails. 2. I was fortunate to see a coyote, a hare, deer and a fawn and few vultures all in the morning hours as the day breaks. So keep your eyes open:) Its an urban oasis and sight for sure eyes. 3. The view coming out of the tunnel into the valley area of the park was a pleasant surprise the first time and its magical at sunrise, try experiencing it.

Always a great park to run at. Just keep an eye out for snakes in the spring and summer. Ive taken some photos there as well. Overall if you want a nice walk or run this is a great place to go.
