Really bad today in service. Typically any one sitting at the bar gets better service in general...Im one person sitting at the bar, took way too long to get service. I was going to order food and bartenders running around but no one stopped to ask if I needed anything. I opted just to drink my margaritas and just snack on the chips/salsa. Do better people. oh well, I saved some money today.

El Mirasol is consistently a great place to dine in, the servers are always so nice and attentive and the food speaks for itself with great quality and decent pricing. Parking: This location is in a strip mall so it has a lot of available parking but if its real busy there might be a small walk to the building.

The hosts up front are so rude! We waited an hour and a half and they weren t kind at all and didn t even smile even if I asked a simple question about getting a high chair. The waitress was rude also. I ll stick with the Alon El Mirasol since they treat their customers with kindness and respect. I ve worked in restaurants all my life and respect staff but can t wait my family enjoyed our experience. So sad because we barely have time to dine together.

The staff makes you wait 15 minutes before taking your drink order. And only come over after you stare at the 8 employers just hanging around the bar. A small plate of guacamole is 13.00. Also the menu says speciality taquitos but they bring out street tacos. The server then proceeds to argue with me that they are taquitos. A taquito is Mexican dish of small rolled-up tortillas filled with beef, chicken, or cheese, and then fried. I know the difference between the two. But trying to argue with me about the difference is not the way to handle the situation. Horrible service. Horrible experience overall.

Service was friendly, although after check was presented, our server disappeared. Chips & salsa, water glasses was served quickly after being seated. Overall, service was good. The flavor profile of our dishes was lacking. Chicken enchiladas: shredded chicken had no flavor, like boiled chicken in water. The rancheras salsa, what little there was, was without complexity. Not toasty. Rice had crinkled peas. Dish was lukewarm, not freshly made. Prickly pear margarita was nice though. My companions meal was the same as mine, assembly line style. Salsa reminiscent of Baja Freshs salsa. Yes, its popular among certain customers. But, if you enjoy complexity, depth of flavors, authentic to the region, exceptional use of spices, not afraid to explore the thrill of heat/spice in foods( not catering to the bland palate) seek elsewhere.

Such good food. One of my faves is the Chile Relleno. Margaritas are generous with a wide variety of flavors making it very easy to order more than one, haha. Our server seemed pretty busy but was polite and friendly. Lively atmosphere. Vegetarian options: Fajitas, lasagna Dietary restrictions: Easy non dairy and/or gluten free options Parking: Large parking lots sharing other business including restaurants and an HeB, but still found plenty of open spots not too far to walk. Our friends got together for a birthday lunch. It was my first time at this restaurant. The service was great, the food was very good. My glass of tea was filled 3 times while I was there. Im sad to leave a poor review because Ive eaten here before and the food was good. This Al pastor was sad. The meat was tender but sauce tasted like actual BBQ sauce and the pineapple on top is clearly canned. Overall the quality of the food was terrible. The staff is great and took care of us and offered different food but for a Mexican restaurant in San Antonio please do better Al pastor. This was pitiful.

Great spot, food was tasty and came out FAST, and the drinks were good as well.... lay but not least dont skip the desert, their flan and tres leches were awesome! Service was attentive and friendly! Recommend, great vibe overall. Parking: Theres a large parking lot but it fills up fast, we got there at 445 on a Thursday and had to park a tad back.

Food was fine, but nothing memorable. Unfortunately, our servers English wasnt as fluid and ended up mistaking our order, which left us with a missing dish for the wife. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as she was full at the end of the meal and did not regret the situation. Atmosphere was nice and spacious with good AC to battle the sizzling heat outside. I would give this restaurant a 5 star review but for the food poisoning that experienced later that night after I had dinner there. I had the lobster enchiladas plate and are about half of the plate. Woke up at 2am very sick to my stomach and gastric issues resulting in horrible diarrhea. I had not eaten anything else that day to blame for the stomach discomfort. No one else in my party got sick. The food has never disappointed, but I suspect the lobster was old and caused my gastrointestinal problem.

Definitely here for the Chispas which are amazing!!! As for food, the parillada was delicious! Very flavorful meat grilled perfectly and I would definitely recommend that dish. I also tried the crab salad which was good but not as flavorful and not a salad I would order personally. Regardless, I will be back and explore more menu items next time

First visit at this El Mirasol location. Came with an empty stomach and left completely full. I ve been driving past here for over four years - I am as much surprised as you to have finally dined in. My partner has been inching to come back so we made the time. We ordered their menudo which was absolutely delicious. The seasoning and the kick were phenomenal! We had their carne enchiladas and chicken flautas which were both excellent. Our server recommended we try their chispas - the chispas is what everyone comes for so we both said why not! Of course, we ordered one to try. Fresh ingredients. Very refreshing.

This place was amazing! The Chispas (Low Calorie Margarita) were mixed to perfection and so good! I had the Mole Enchiladas, a nice take on the traditional Mexican dished in to an enchilada . Well I was hoping this place would be good, but honestly its pretty underwhelming. I ordered the chicken flauta plate, and my flautas were very bland, it seemed like there was no seasoning at all. The rice and beans were good. The beans werent too salty, and the rice had some seasoning and was light and fluffy. The rice and beans were honestly the best part of my meal. The chips and salsa were good too. The chips definitely tasted fresh, and so did the salsa. My husband ordered an enchilada plate with 3 different enchiladas and didnt finish it, and he ALWAYS finishes his plate. The servers were attentive and nice. The atmosphere was nice, but kind of moody/dark decor, with some pops of color here and there. There are so many great Mexican restaurants in San Antonio and Im sorry to say, this just wasnt for me. No hate to anyone here, everyone was great, its just the food missed the mark for me.

My sister & I ordered chicken enchiladas & we were highly disappointed. I always go to El Mirasol & food has always been very good. I was appalled to look at my chicken and realize that it is canned chicken . Whatever they used is commercial canned chicken. I know chicken enchiladas from El Mirasol & other places & that was not chicken they made. I also know what canned chicken looks & tastes like. There was no flavor, it was rolled up very tight in the enchilada & coloring was off. They have just recently done this because in the past their enchiladas were good & the chicken was flavorful. Shame on them, this is a high end restaurant that is pricey. I know the bulk of their business is from the alcohol sales & not the food. I will not be going back & if I do I will stay away from the canned chicken .

Flavor: A Service: A Tea: A Solo dining: A I followed a recommendation to get the snapper enchiladas. Except I swapped the lobster cream sauce for the meat gravy (because I can t eat preserved shellfish). The enchiladas were delicious. Those tortillas were stuffed full of fish and everything was full of flavor. The queso and chips were also excellent. This place was packed! The wait wait was an hour and a half. My friend and I were lucky to find a place at the bar while we waited. However mid way thru us having a drink at the bar the hostess came up to us and told us if we didn t order food at the bar then we had to take our name of the wait list for a table!!!!! I have never heard you can t wait for your table at the bar. But needless to say we had to take our name off the wait list for a table just to have a drink on the bar!!! They reserve the whole BAR AREA it s not free for people.

After work, I experienced significant hunger and noticed a large number of individuals exiting a nearby establishment. I made the assumption that the establishment must be of high quality and decided to enter and place an order. While the service was prompt and efficient, I regret to inform you that the quality of the food was severely lacking. The meal was excessively dry, and the portion size was disproportionately small in relation to the price. Additionally, the beans were served with an inconsistent temperature, being hot on the surface but cold at the base of the container. I express my profound disappointment in having expended $20 for such an unsatisfactory dining experience.

Hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant I ve ever been to, and one of my favorite restaurants period. The food, service, and drinks are of equal excellence a rare feat. With a vast menu of delicious offerings, I couldn t get burned out here if I tried, which says a lot considering we eat here at least twice a week. I was skeptical about El Mirasol. Most nicer Tex-Mex food restaurants are such a let down or sort of bland in flavor. This was not. The drinks are strong such that you know the bartender isnt shorting you. The food isnt terribly creative, but its well executed and tastes good. I will say this place fills fast and you should expect a hard time finding a table near dinner time without a reservation. Is it the best Tex-Mex food? Nope, not even close, but is good enough to set itself apart from other nicer Tex-Mex restaurants in a city full of good choices for that kind of food. Parking: Tons available in the Alon parking lot.

Outside or in, expect fast, continuous service, where your drink never empties, and your needs are met throughout your dining experience. Very nice yet professional servers. Parking: I actually found a spot right upfront, though regardless of where you park, you are still close to the entrance and afterwards can enjoy walking around the different shops, without having to go inside. Or get a quick haircut, or do some grocery shopping at the HEB in the same parking lot. Solid option, even for a busy Saturday night. Salsa is less to my liking, but has a lot of flavor. Had the tacos norteños and was pleasantly surprised. Server was younger so I ll give him 4/5 for being a smidge slow. Other than that, I ll be back.

The atmosphere is family friendly and wide open. Mustache Mateo and Ricki made sure we were well taken care of. Made us feel special and welcomed. I had the FIESTA A combination of shrimp, chicken, beef nachos and chipotle cream sauce and guacamole. They were the best mixed nachos Ive ever had. The table dark chipotle sauce w chips is very different from regular Mexican restaurants. I highly recommend El Marisol!! Parking: One big parking lot. I want to express my experience at el mirasol this past 02/04/24 I had been to el mirasol before and been served by Jairo multiple times, great service ! So I decided to invite my coworkers, and managers as well to come try the famous chispas and margaritas! Thinking myself we were going to be treated as a customer should be , once again Jairo was our server and once again EXCELLENT service ! But once it was time to go one of my coworkers/friend got up to the restroom mind you she was in a stage were she was tipsy but not drunk like so , so we decided to go with her to the restroom and wait for her when she came out, other coworkers that were at my table decided to joke around about how chispas were starting to hit her so we decided to grab her from one side to another and this is were I think it s disrespectful, this waiter which name is VICTOR said a comment in front of us SCREAMED alguien venga a limpiar el baño que ya se vomitaron which just to clarify that never happen my friend went to the restroom just to do her business (pee if you really want me to clarify) and mind you he has made comments but never took it personal since I have no relationship with him but now I feel like he s getting personal saying comments every time we walk pass him , as a frequent customer at el mirasol I think that s not how a customer should be treated and I don t think that looks very professional from his side . Also not including that when they were taking us chips they were putting the new baskets of chips on top of the old one , myself working at a restaurant I don t think it looks professional/ sanitary . It s not a big deal could ve been she s new at el mirasol or something just wanted to let you know.

My husband and I went during lunch hour and were seated right away. Chips and salsa were brought to the table within 2 minutes. We did not get greeted by any server, 20 min later, I stopped the person bussing tables and asked if they could call our server. She realized we did not have water and asked if she could just take our order for drinks and food. We gave her the order, and 20 minutes later, food was brought by another person who works in the kitchen. While we ate, another person who cleaned tables noticed we needed a refill and got it for us. I also asked that person to see if they could find someone to bring us our bill since we did not have a server. He asked one of the other servers to get us a bill. We got the check, paid, and left. We were not happy with their service at all.

This place takes the cake for sure. Upon arriving it felt like arriving at a prestigious place youd need a reservation for, and yet they sat us down right away. Literally. Atmosphere is so modern and artistic and pleasant and elegant. Amazing flavors in the food. The Amaretto beergarita is really good. The enchiladas named after the restaurant were phenomenal. Best chips Ive ever had and salsa. Incredible service. All those things considered made the few dollars more for enchiladas not a problem at all. Worth it. Fire.

Went there for the first time and I was hooked at the alon location at wurzbach and military. Service was second to none. Calamari and cucumber martinis are the best. Attending back very soon. Both times I was served by Gerardo and his friend I wish I could remember his name.

This is more of a Tex mex restaurant. If you like flavors more like in Mexico or CA this place is not it. I don t recommend and I won t come back. I love mole enchiladas but this place was not it. Then I tried the flan and it wasn t good at all. I didn t even finish it. Drinks are good but that s about it .
