Used to be one of my favorite burger places. Went today not only is soda machine down so you are paying $3.50 for a can of soda where you can t get refills, they didn t have chicken, didn t have silverware or plasticware to cut anything, ranch portion size for fried mushrooms was tiny and food overall was bland bordering on stale. All this after waiting 10+ minutes after my husband and son got their burgers for mine (which was the smallest one). Again used to be one of my favorites but sadly won t go back.

Everyone works for their money and it s horrible to hear that these corrupted owners do not know how to handle a business and make things right for the people working to make their business RUN. Visited this establishment because a friend worked there for a few weeks. The service is good, the food is too fried for my taste (too breaded) but what is bad is that the owner has still NOT paid my friend. Hope he doesnt do this to his other employees. Dietary restrictions: Everything is too breaded so beware if you have health issues.

My mom worked for frank and they have not paid her . She was supposed to get paid Saturday the 7th and then he said he was going to pay her Friday the 13th. When Friday came along he did not reach out to my mom to give her any update or to pay her even after the fact that she told him that she had bills that she really had to pay .This isnt right, My mom is a very hard worker and she was working 6hr shifts for a week and a half . And they are refusing to pay her !! I do not recommend anyone to apply or work here i would not want something like this to happen to anyone else !

Weve been here a few times before and had wanted to come back for a while but hadnt because it was not close to us. When we got there, right away I noticed an empty parking lot. That usually tells someone what they need to know. Since weve been here before and loved the burgers I ignored that. We ordered our food. The cashier told us their soda machine was out so she gave us canned soda. I was given my total and immediately thought it was pricey. But because of what I previously remembered about these burgers it was alright. I got to the table to see they charged me $3.50 for a canned soda. Total rip off but again if the machine recently broke (which I doubt) I understand if that was what they were doing until their service tech arrived. We got our food and was told they were still working on our onion rings. We were almost done with our food so we didnt even want them anymore, but we just left it alone. How was the food? The burger was not as tasty as I remembered. It had no flavor.The batter on the onion rings were soft also with no flavor. I normally dont add salt to my food but I felt I needed to with this burger. Overall extremely disappointing and now see why the parking lot was empty. Sadly we wont be back.

The food was really good, as seen on TV. But the restaurants AC was out. So we took the food to go. It was not ideal for the staff or anyone in the restaurant. The soda machine only had two flavors working. But man, those mushrooms were great. Maybe next time theyll include the gravy.

We came here based on reviews, and I have to say I was disappointed. Their a/c was out, so it was really warm inside, and the music was so loud you couldnt have a conversation without raising your voice. My spouse is somewhat deaf so this made it difficult for us to communicate. We both ordered a burger. One with cheese and one without. I had mayo, pickle, and onion on mine, and had I not looked under the bun, I wouldnt have known it was there. There was one pickle, one onion, and a very small line of mayo. The taste was ok. Its not something I would drive to SA for. We ordered fries and onion rings, and from how they look, we were very excited. Unfortunately for us they were not good. The fries were ok, but the rings were inedible. I ate half of one and couldnt eat anymore. They were flavorless and had a strange taste to them like bad grease or something. We were not happy with our experience here. I really like to support and hipe local business however I can not do it here. Im hoping it was just a bad day.

It was a frustrating experience at the restaurant, to say the least, despite waiting for over an hour just for our five burgers and three hotdogs. The cook appeared to be making each item one at a time, resulting in a lengthy and inefficient process. Additionally, the temperature inside the restaurant was uncomfortably high, exceeding 90 degrees, as the air conditioning was not functioning. Adding to the discomfort, the AC leaked from the ceiling, which had to be collected into buckets. This place was a joke! The neighborhood is sketchy, so if youre not comfortable with homeless, drug users, and drunks around, then this place is not for you. Now, if youre stubborn and dont believe the review, then come on over and experience it for yourself. It was a disappointing visit, and I would not recommend this place to others. The food was mediocre and a stomach buster later that night.

We waited 55 minutes( walked in at 8 pm, Last part of our order came at 8:55) for 3 burgers, a hotdog and onion rings. There was only one cook who got our order wrong twice. The onion rings came out after we were already done with our food. Not sure if he was new or what was going on. Our toppings were literally on the receipt and he kept getting it wrong. Won t be returning.

This is one of my favorite spots in San Antonio. The burgers are delicious, so full of flavor. I love to order the bacon and grilled jalapenos on my burger. The bacon is a really good quality and I like that they use fresh jalapenos instead of pickled. Their natural cut fries are delicious as well. Ive had their chicken sandwich as well and its really full of flavor.

Best gourmet burgers in San Antonio hands down!! Always great service, and the food is always hot and fresh. The owner is frequently there cleaning, taking orders, and making sure everyone is happy and has everything they need. Very rare to see a business that prioritizes all aspects of the business - food, service, cleanliness, etc.. I also love their selection of different iced teas, nice to see a restaurant serve something other than soda. 10/10 establishment, can t go wrong with Fattboy.

I love burgers so I had a chance to try this place. They sell the burgers plain and you have to pay extra for cheese, bacon, avocado and jalapenos. The order taker was not too helpful even though I mentioned it was my first time here. This doesn t make my top list, unfortunately. Great day!

4.5 Food was good especially the burger. The fries could improve as they were soft, and I like fries to be firm and crispy. Everything was still delicious. The foam cups they give you along with a soda could at least have lids to go with. Also improve on interior, one counter at a corner where supposedly the soda machine is, was looking rusty and unclean. Hence a -.5. Nice employees. Pretty chill atmosphere. Will come again.

After getting out of IKEA my wife was craving a big juicy burger. And who doesnt like a nice burger with fries or onion rings. So without giving much thought I turn to Yelp and found Fattboy Burger and Hotdog place. We arrived at Fattboys little after 9pm. Parking wasnt an issue at that time of the evening. We already knew what we wanted to eat ... We ordered and sat for our food. I asked if music can be lowered so Frank (owner) turned it down a notch. Within ten minutes all of our food arrived. Fresh off the grill, piping . I started to dig in and it was right on the point!! Beef patty was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Fried mushrooms was absolutely delicious and fries were out of this world!!! My wife ordered Fattboys grilled chicken sandwich. That sandwich had two generous sized chicken breast patty. I have never been to a place with food portions were truly Texas size! This place really nailed it. Not only taste but portion too. From outside its has an old timer feel to it... Do not let that stop you. I recommend this place and I can assure you also wont be disappointed.

First of all, I decided to order here because I wanted a good burger cooked rare and this place had the option to choose rare. Well it wasnt the least bit rare. Dont give that as an option if you cant cook it rare! Secondly, I ordered my daughter a fat chick sandwich and the bun was totally drenched and soggy which is just gross. Total failure. Went for to-go lunch at 1:30 on a Saturday 5/4/24. Place was empty. They were out of onion rings, out of the fatchick, soda machine was down. Lady working the counter played on her phone the whole time and never repeated our order back or reviewed what food we were getting. They got both burgers we ordered wrong. Missed cheese and got the wrong condiments on one. Missed bacon and grilled onions on another. Clearly no one seems to care, management, cooks, teller. Floors and tables were dirty, food was wrong. Only good thing was the fries were hot and well seasoned. *edit* Called for a refund and they said there credit card machine is broke and can only do refunds by giving you cash.

The service was terrible. We walked in, and the cashier let us know right away that the wait would be 35-40 minutes (very much appreciated). My family and I were not that hungry, and we were craving fatboys. Its one of my sons favorite places to get a burger! As Im ordering, I asked for were out of Pickles. I asked for fries, and they were probably going to be out of fries by the time it would be time for our order to be mad. I asked for coke, and they were out of coke.... mind you, we got there 2.5 hrs before they closed. It was annoying, but again, my son wanted fatboys. So we wai t and wait and wait. Im not even kidd8ng 50 minutes go by, and I go see where were at in order. The lady said, Oh.. uh, your order is next. I was done by that point. I asked for and got my refund. It was such a letdown. That place has really gone down, and its so unfortunate.

This hole in the wall will not leave you disappointed. We ordered the Fatt Chick and Fatt Boy burger and were surprised when the food came out because of how large the portions were. The fries seemed like they were house made and seasoned to perfection. The Fatt Chick which is the chicken sandwich was massive! They use a whole chicken breast and butterfly cut it so that it creates this HUGE filet. The flavors were very homey but hit the spot every time. They don t have a huge selection of sauces available which is usually my preference and every add on is an extra cost (ei. pickles, lettuce, tomato, onions, avocado) If you re in the area, you need to give it a go but if you re traveling with a crowd it s best to carpool since the parking lot is not very accommodating. The burgers are extremely tasty! They are well seasoned and made to order. This makes for a fresh plate and temperature is just right! The big surprise is the chili dog! Toasted bun and flavorful chili make all this right in the world! I wished, I added onions and cheese. I will try next time and yes there will be a next time. Onions could have have more seasoning. However, they were fried nicely. Service was pretty good no complaints. Yet there is room for improvement. Parking: The parking was sparse.

We had the fat boy combo with bacon and cheese, fried pickles, and skinnydog combo with chili and cheese. Fat boy burger was fully cooked, bacon was crispy and the lettuce, tomatoes, onions were fresh, pickles were regular hamburger pickles on sesame seed bun. Overall rating of the burger 5 of 5. Skinnydog was nathans all beef frank chili was meat with no beans and cheddar cheese on regular bun it had a smoking taste. Overall rating of chili dog 5 of 5. Fries where cut with skin on meaty and seasoned will, overall 5 of 5 for fries. Fried pickles were thin, breading was flavorful but I couldnt taste any pickles at all, overall rating 1 of 5 on fried pickles. The bathrooms had out of order signs but employees were using them.

I was in the area and didnt want to venture far away so I thought I would check out this place since they have good reviews. First I noticed the total seemed a little high and then they only had 4 working soda selections. The burger came out hot off the grill, maybe a little too hot with a little grease. The fries came out about 10 minutes later and were also really hot. It was cold inside so the aluminum chairs and tables are also cold. Overall the food was decent but not for the price and it seems like this place needs some help including employees.

They have become a lowest common denominator place, when they used to be outstanding. I understand the urge, because of Covid19, etc It s difficult to hire and keep staff. Cardinal sin: no iced tea. There are hardly any restaurants in South Texas that dont serve iced tea. Im diabetic and cant/wont drink any of the sugary drinks they serve. Ive been a customer for decades, but I wont be going back. The lady covering the front was a gem. Theyre lucky to have her.

What to say, burgers are on point, fries had a hint of garlic salt very crispy and hot out the fryer, its out of the tourist way but worth the trip if you are very hungry. Very clean and the staff is very helpful, the cooks are pros when it comes to cooking up the burgers. Fresh is the word i would describe this joint.

This place was right up my alley. A local hole in the wall joint with good people, service and the Hamburger or Fattboy Burger and fries were so good. The burger had that fresh taste and the manager said their food is never frozen. Thats why it was so good! This is another hidden gem that will be on my come back to list in San Antonio!

We went last week (Sat) for the first time and ordered a hamburger and fries. The hamburger and fries had no flavor at all (NOT SEASONED), plus I was surprised they charged me for the cup of water. I thought it was just me, but my son agreed with me on the review. We will not return, waste of money. I do not recommend !

Best burger and chicken sandwich in San Antonio!!! By far!! I ve been coming to Fattboy s for years and they never disappoint me. When you come, come hungry! The Fattboy and Fattchick are an entire meal in and of themselves. The combos are very well priced for the amount of food you receive. And the staff is always super friendly. I d put the Fattboy and Fattchick up against any burger in the state!

My visit here was not a pleasant one My party got there around opening , and sat down inside to get out of the hot weather , only to have one of the workers get angry and say Were not open yet despite the fact that we were just sitting and hadnt made any move to order yet When we did, we were informed that they were out of mushrooms for their burgers, a big reason why we even came there We sat down to wait for our order and discovered that half the options for the soda machine were completely out When we finally got our burger, we discovered that it was far smaller than what it should have been. We ordered the Fattboy burger and over a quarter of the patty was missing. When we asked about it, the same worker who greeted us told us that the burgers come out like that after smashing them. The fries were old and completely dried out. They also neglected to give us the grilled onions we ordered, and proceeded to go to the back room to make fun of us A member of our group ordered water, and we were surprised to learn that we had been charged 78 cents for a water cup We learned that this restaurant charges extra for using your debit card, which doesnt seem fair

We were in the area and looking for a good burger. Boy there food was delicious. I would give 10 stars if I could. The wife had the burger and I had the slim dog. Food was cooked to order and fries were homemade. The lady taking the orders was super nice and helpful. It s only like a min or 2 off 410 but we ll worth it.

First time eating here and it was good! I ordered a slimmboy, adding mushrooms, grilled onions, and jalapeños with cheese and fries. My brother and mom got onion rings. The fries were alright, onion rings were better, and I only wished they had a better selection of drinks, but other than that, it was good. The woman at the register had great and was patient with us. Overall, its pretty good for a lunch bite.

I was here about a year ago and the food was awesome. I went back recently and was worried it wouldnt be as good. But it was still amazing. The burgers are very tasty,fresh, hot and reasonably priced for what you get. The servers were friendly also. The atmosphere could use a little sprucing up, but it also gives the place character. The place was clean and the tables get bussed fairly quickly. The restroom was a little dirty but acceptable. I will definitely go back.

One of those hidden hole in the wall treats. The place is clean, and the staff pleasant. The only two negatives are they had no sauerkraut the day I ate there and they don t do milkshakes. The hot dogs are premium meat and delicious. The fatty chick is tasty and massive. I think they use the whole breast to make it. A great find!

At first we were put off by the fact that you have to pay to add toppings such as cheese and bacon but it did not turn out too expensive, other toppings including pickles and mayo are free. Even the slim burgers are big portions so we were very surprised and full. The flavor was delicious I orders crispy slim chicken and it was great. Also cashier was vary nice and funny

Drove all the way over here from Alamo Ranch and we have no regrets! The burgers are made fresh to order and are delicious! The fries are also fresh made to order and delicious. We also tried the chili cheese fries they were delicious too! Prices were great, especially for the portions recieved and how tasty it all was. This is def one of the best burger spots in San Antonio, I highly recommend eating here, you wont regret it! Perk not only is the food amazing but the service is also!

Online menu is confusing, called restaurant and they couldnt tell me what kind of seasoning they put on their fries, or whether that was an option, menu doesnt have all the information or whats actually available, woman said they dont offer combo meals after 3pm...Restaurant appears to be little more that a money making scheme...neglected or misleading menu and no one on sight cares!
