First Friday outside Burgerteca is phenomenal ! Its surroundings are peaceful and beautiful, as you can walk along or take a seat on the trail outside of the restaurant. I love the huge games that they have outside. I really cant stop thinking about the decor, as there is so much love for ancestors felt here with the prominent display of sugar skulls and more. I love it and plan on coming early next time so we can get some good

Considering the fact that your typical fast food place is well over ten bucks these days, Burgerteca is a bargain considering the entire experience. The decor & ambience is truly reminiscent of small town Mexico, the speed of delivery and quality of service is first rate, and the food is great! The sweet potato fries are the best anywhere. If your not sure what to try on your first visit, the Chile Con Queso Burger is a good choice.

We had expected high standards from this establishment, given its ownership by a highly respected individual in the San Antonio community. However, its evident that this establishment needs a reality check. The staff was rude and made us to feel like our being there was an inconvenience to them! Needless to say, we wont be returning.

Really appreciate the auto grat 20% when we were the only people in the restaurant. Have a good night yall. Having a warning or a sign posted is a different story. The waitress looked like a deer in headlights when I brought it up too. Edit: Upon reflecting I forgot to mention a few things. Ordered a mango chamoy margarita. Waitress brings it out and you ordered mango didn t you? Bartender throws a splash on top. Really appreciate the mix to correct the problem. Ordered the chili con queso fries. Fries came out lukewarm at best and the cheese was seemingly buried in the bottom of the tray. Thankfully there is cholula at the table to save the dish.

Now, I really, really love burgers and am always willing to try different types of burgers from classic to gourmet. Burgerteca is the place to be to try burgers perfected in ways that youd think impossible. The ambience is lively and gorgeous with its bright beautiful colors and beautiful Hispanic art for you to enjoy!!!!Music is awesome.Servers are very attentive. Menus are a QR code which has three, 3 , tres selections to choose from foe three stations they offer their goods such as a coffee bar, a bar and of course their eating menu. For starters I recommend their asada fries, Delicious!!!!! Chiliquilas burger is on point and oh my fav was the al pastor burger. Kid friendly and the outside atmosphere is beautiful close to the river walk in the king William district. Again and as always, support small business.

The concept of the menu items was interesting. The burger wasn t as seasoned as we hoped for, but the other menu items we chose were great! We really liked their take on lemonade, which has a lime flavor. The customer service was wonderful! There is a cute outdoor patio section with lawn games. I saw a sign that there was additional parking in a nearby garage. There are a few street parking spots near the front entrance.

Enjoyed our dining experience here! We went right as it opened, so it was a calm atmosphere. Really creative menu. My burger al pastor was a bit dry and did not come smothered in onions and cilantro the way I prefer it, but the pineapple did help out a bit. My boyfriend had the asada fries and they were delicious. My favorite thing was my latte, made with corn, but oddly enough I can t find a coffee menu anywhere online to find the name of it! I hear the ice cream is nice, and I was impressed by their bar selection. That said, there were a few order errors made for our part of 7, as sweet as our waitress was, and the matcha latte was not a hit. Here s hoping it was just a beginning of shift kinda thing, but will be seeing improvement on our next visit.

This is not the first place you would think of when you re looking for a healthy meal I hope I can change your mind We ordered the vegetarian burger, which is made in house and it is the best veggie burger I ve ever had. We also got the tuna burger, which was fresh and flavorful, and had a great portion of avocado on top. Of course there s always one in the group to order something a little less healthy The Mexican hotdog was fabulous and flavorful as well. we ordered the sweet potato fries, to top it off and we were so full that although we wanted to get the mocha with the churro on the side, we didn t have room. Next time! I m not sure about our waitress name, but she was fabulous, the service was great and the atmosphere was awesome.

The warm mini churros with the coffee and horchata was a nice surprise. Theres a nice little coffee room with large chairs in the back past the bathrooms. The main space has large tables - good for groups.

Burgerteca has always had an amazing menu but now with the addition of the Margarita Garden, the menu is even more spectacular! I have to say right away that I am OBSESSED with the mac and cheese. There has never been a mac and cheese that has stolen my heart like this one. I look forward to every visit because I m anxious to order it. However, we can t stop there! The burrito bowl is another menu item that I ve ordered numerous times and all I have to say is that Chipotle has NOTHING on this bowl. The ingredients are amazingly fresh and unlike other burrito bowls, this bowl is made with traditional Mexican rice and it makes all the difference. The nachos are also amazing and the chips manage to stay crispy despite the amazing toppings. This is a great starter for the table. Another great starter are the loaded asada fries. These fries are topped with their signature queso and I can t even begin to describe how incredible all the different flavors taste and work together. Of course, chips and salsa are a MUST and the salsa here is fresh and homemade. Onto the drinks, Margarita Garden offers an out of this world selection on specially curated margaritas that will make any margarita lover happy. I ve had the opportunity to experience them all and none disappoint. I HIGHLY recommend this spot and all the restaurants under Chef Johnny Hernandez. You will become an addict for this exceptional food and amazing drinks.

Went today with a group coworkers after one of them highly recommended them. We were all disappointed. First off, when we walked in, we were hit with the intense fumes of someone using spray enamel on a murual. We sat there for 30 minutes before they finally opened the doors to air the place out. After 40 minutes of waiting, we finally got our food. There seemed to be only one cook working during lunch. Overall, it was an extremely lackluster burger. Everyones patties were severely well done to the point of dry. The patties we bland with no seasoning. Oddly, everyones bottom bun was toasted/grilled to the point of being hard. The Tater Tots de Mexicana were just tater tots with Pico de Gallo and maybe a teaspoon of queso and chili. Extremely overpriced. A burger, tots and sweat tea will run you around $30.

Loved the queso and while the salsa was good it was different from what you would normally find. So hard to say if lots of people would love it. Got the grilled tuna burger and so glad I did. Got full but didnt feel bogged down from a greasy burger. Everything was fresh and tasted great. The tatter tots were a perfect choice to go with.

Delicious hamburgers! I ordered the chile con queso burger with no fries, & a water! The hamburger on its own was a decent size & tasted so good! The beans in the hamburger was a great addition! It was smokey & so cheesy! There are condiments on the table if you need more, but mine had great flavors & didn t need anything else! We arrived about 30 minutes after they opened on a Saturday. The waitress was very nice, but it took a little bit to get menus & our order in when there was only one other 2 person party in the restaurant. Once we got our order in, the food came out pretty quickly! The same thing happened with our check, we had to go find the waitress to pay for our food. The woman s bathroom was clean.

And....they were alright, nothing special, nothing bad but okay. To describe the flavor....it kinda works when everything is mixed together, but nothing mind blowing. For the price youre paying, youd hope getting something surpassing decent, or at the very least, include fries. If youre craving a burger, this might not be the spot, but if you want to try something a little different, then be a judge for yourself

First time trying this place out and was not impressed!! Ordered the Oaxaca Burger , the Chile con queso burger, and the Al Pastor. They bread was extremely soggy on all burgers- I would suggest to order the sauces on the side. The burgers were not as tasty as they look on the site for sure. Nothing special, the meat is bland not well seasoned. Tasted like a frozen patty with layers of toppings. My husband always finishes his food and he only had 3 bites of his burger and tossed it. My sister and I also ended up tossing more than half . If you want a real burger go to Babes Old Fashioned burgers. The service was as bland as the meat itself. Our server didnt come around for a while and was very disassociated with us. For a Saturday afternoon the place was dead and there was not an ambiance at all to be honest. The lemonade was really good though! Save your coin! This was def a miss for us! Wont be returning!

This place has a gluten-free bun but it has egg whites in it. I got the Al pastor burger. It was delicious. The cheese was a bit strong for my taste, although my girlfriend would have loved it. Overall it was excellent. Definitely try the house margarita

Wow that was terrible. I dont review much but I had to say something. I had the veggie burger and fries. The veggie burger made no sense and had just random ingredients that didnt taste good at all. The fries were cold and stale and we exactly like of you leave fries out all night and just start eating them straight up in the morning. Zero love or care. Also, as soon as I walked in everybody working was encouraging me to take it to go and not to dine in. I got the feeling they were doing that for working. And its not like I showed up late, I showed up at 7:45 they close at 10:00. Really bad experience yall, I gotta say.

Over priced and mediocre food. atmosphere is very lively and fun can see it being great place for people that are visiting or just care about taking pics. 1 star for service sat at the bar, no bartender, hard to get refills and food took a long time considering we ordered a regular burger and hot dog.

Took 15min for waitress to come and take our drink order. Very dry and kinda rude. Disappeared for about 25 min and brought our burgers. Sweet potato fries were burnt. Chile con queso fries were good. Burgers did not have much flavor, we ordered chilaquile burgers. Meat is 1/3lb. Overall if service was better the experience would have been better, but 40 min from arrival to food when they were not busy at 230pm is not good service.

The burgers are really good! A fusion between the classic American staple and traditional Mexican dishes is a fantastic idea. The restaurant offers fun and bright decor to go along with the music and menu. You will be greeted by a friendly staff who will be attentive and ensure you dont feel ignored throughout your dining experience. bring an empty stomach because youll want to try everything - and youll be satisfied with anything you pick. Some of the seasoning overpowers everything else on the burger. its not a bad thing, and I believe its merely a slight miscalculation by the cooks when preparing the ingredients, but it does leave you wanting a bit less as you try to finish the burger. Every item Ive had is good, its worth a visit and a return.

What can I say about this place that has not all ready been said. My family and I are from the Houston area. And this was the first place in San Antonio where it was a great atmosphere and great people. Our waiter was very nice. And the food was super good. It was a twice on a burgers. And I must say it was good. You have to experience a place for yourself. The waiter was very Patient with my boys. And she just took her time and with them. Not to Mention my 6 year old had a Crush on the waiter !!!

Visited the Restaurant and started talking with the Chef s grandmother who made me feel at home. The decorations are so inviting and beautiful. The food OMG the food. There are no words to describe it. You have to taste it. I had the order to go and my wife and kids loved it. Will definitely try it on my next visit to San Antonio.

Service was attentive bit the food was bland. The fries were undercooked, unsalted, and soggy. Even the mole did not pick up flavor until after a bit of salt. The pastor burger offered a nice tropical flavor but again, the beef was bland and did not have any flavor. For what its worth, the menu is interesting and innovative and I feel just a few changes such as making sure the heart of the house doesnt take shortcuts would make this an outstanding burger chain. The chef has great ideas, I just hope his staff puts the same level of passion into his menu items

This was recommended to us. To me it was awful not enough selection on the beer for my son in law. Flies flying everywhere around us which was uncomfortable to eat. My granddaughters tea tasted nasty, my tea as well. All around I was unable to enjoy the food.

The patio area and interior are very nice, and service isnt too shabby. The Al Pastor Burger was a pretty unique flavor, but the meat itself was nothing special. Almost tasted like a Costco frozen patty. The fries were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside just the way they should be. The real lack of value was in the $8 kids meal. 5 generic chicken nuggets and a few fries on a plate seem a bit sus. Could have at least tossed in an ice-cream or something for the kiddos for that price to make it worth it. Overall not horrible though, might try it again, might not. Probably wouldnt seek it out from across town.
