It was overall a good experience. Two minor factors let it down, which I really suppose wasnt the restaurants fault - it was extremely busy, there was a river parade and the streets of San Antonio were overflowing. With this in mind, we almost did not get into the Bistro, and also theyd run out of pizza. We had a bottle of wine and the pasta dishes - very enjoyable

What a find! It was a lovely evening, and we enjoyed our meal on the patio. We started off with beautiful cocktails. My husband and I love craft cocktails, with quality ingredients, and Zinc did not disappoint. Daniel was our server, and he was great. My daughter.s pizza was over cooked, and before they even served it, they gave her the choice of redoing. We had a burger, salads, pizzas, and truffle fries. All delicious. Some people from our party are vegetarian, and Daniel helped guide us through some options the kitchen could make vegetarian. That would be the only suggestion to Zinc, more vegetarian/vegan choices on the menu.

Zinc is a perfect experience to get away from the loud streets. Very secluded and peaceful. The service was over the roof, and they would customize the order if you dont like something. Everything is fresh, highly suggest the parmesan fries. If you like margaritas, the prickly pear is amazing. I ordered a pizza and it came out a little burnt, and they came over to me and asked if I would like a new one. The bread was fresh on the pizza, and everything is a great deal compared to tourist restraunts on the river walk. Highly suggest!

What a gem! We started with the best guacamole (made tableside) and chips. We each ordered the grilled shrimp and shared the Brioche Apple Bread Pudding for dessert. The portions were pretty generous, and their bread pudding was the best Ive ever had. Prices were very reasonable for this area.

I walked in this establishment and immediately I felt uncomfortable. Now its 12:30 am Im a tourist and I was told that they stop serving at 11:45. I am embarrassed and appalled. All I wanted was some good food and wine while I waited. Will never go back if Im ever in San Antonio.

This place was such a lifesaver and a pleasant surprise. We were in town for my boyfriends bday and, after a full day of adventure, needed to rest before heading out for the evening. Well, we slept a little longer than planned and I was convinced we were going to be stuck eating fast food or tacos. Nope! Zinc Bistro saved our evening! The kitchen serves food until midnight. Full menu! *hallelujah* The price, portions and flavor were all on point! We had an appetizer, drinks, a pasta dish (for me) and steak plate (for him). We enjoyed the style of the space as well, with art on the walls and a decorative ceiling. I mean, it was the perfect bday dinner spot for this pair of night owls. 100% recommend. Cant tell them enough how grateful I was for their excellent service and great food at such a late hour. A true gem.

Love this small and romantic restaurant in downtown San Antonio. Reservation are highly recommended but if you go early enough you can get a seat at the bar which is one of my favorite ways to eat dinner if its just me and my husband. The food is excellent and the service is top notch. Always consistent which is impressive to me as well. Well go back anytime Im staying on the river walk.

The Zinc salad was so simple and delicious! I had it along with the duck wings which were absolutely scrumptious. My husband had the lamb burger which was so good that he didnt want to ruin it with ketchup. It was a little greasy, but he loved it. This was my second visit. Previously I had the portabello patty melt and escargot. I highly recommend this restaurant. Service and prices were also great.

We arrived and had reservations. A table cleared in the bar and they offered to seat us there. We were told the bar was actually quieter on this night than the dining room. My husband and I were looking forward to eating there after reading all the fantastic reviews so we took the table in the bar. I excused myself to go to the restroom to easy my hands. As I passed through the dining room, the noise was deafening. I was glad they recommended the bar. I walked to the two bathrooms available close to the bar. I was pleased to see the bathrooms were unisex. Yay for progress! I went into the first available bathroom and the odor of urine was so strong it made me sick to my stomach. I couldnt handle it. It was disgusting. Plus the bathroom was filthy. After being in the restaurant business for over 15 years myself, I was severely disappointed. We promptly left. Too bad. We were really looking forward to a great meal.

If you eat here, try to sit on patio or bar area (best athmosphere). I was seated in the main dining room that had no real windows, little dingi, and next to two ugly bathroom doors. However, the food was up there. The spinach and artichoke dip was the best Ive ever had! You could tell it was fresh and had a little kick to it. The service was really great. I had to add salt to my steak, which should never happen at a restaurant like this one. If I could, I would rate them a little higher than 4.

We visited from out of town and had a great experience. We had requested a patio table when we made the reservation, but nothing was available when we arrived. Zinc is a cozy little bar right by the riverwalk. I got a Manhattan, which they serve with real cherries, and hummus. They both were very tasty. Met my wife downtown and tried this place on a lark. Great atmosphere and great service. Wish i could remember the bartenders name since he looked like he was born to be a bartender. Even put up with my wifes adventurous insistence she be allowed to climb on the wine ladder. If I lived downtown, this would be my go-to place. Only reason for four stars instead of five is the calamari left a little something to be desired. When we go back (and we will go back) for a full dinner, may upgrade the rating. Enjoy & Cheers!

I was on business in SA and stayed close to the river walk. The first night I tried a grill restaurant on the river walk but it had poor quality food. So, I was very pleased to find this charming bistro that has simple but good quality dishes and came back again. The ambiance is nice and the staff amable and attentionate. First time here having lunch with friends. Glad one of the people in our group recommended Zinc a nice little gem of a restaurant and bar. I had the Lamb burger with sweet potato fries and it was delicious. We did sit outside and had a great breeze and time. I highly recommend you try Zinc

Yum! This was a pleasant surprise. My friend and I finally decided to check out Zinc since it was close to the Riverwalk and had some favorable reviews. The food was delicious. My friend and I both got the Gulf Blue Crab Cakes and the Chile Mac and Three Cheeses to share. The crab cakes were a lovely blend of actual crab meat and flavorful breading (definitely did not taste like 100% breading as crab cakes in restaurants tend to). It also comes with a nice little salad with pears. The Chile Mac and Three Cheese was yummy and had just enough spice for a bit of a kick. Im terrible with spicy food but this was barely spicy at all. Although the portions look small, they were surprisingly filling and just right. The food was so good, I ended up ordering the crab cakes again for lunch the next day. The service was also attentive and great.
