The parking was in a cow pasture complete with tall, gnarly thorn bushes and cow droppings EVERYWHERE. Will gladly NEVER return by choice. 0 Star rating if allowed.

An overall great experience! We held my father s celebration of life with the caterers & AV company recommended by the venue as well as a few table decorations provided by the them . They were incredibly friendly & sensitive to our needs. Everything went perfectly & we received so many compliments on the celebration.

Got to play this venue for a Quinceanera and what a beautiful venue! Drive in and be left alone with your party, family or selected friends all safely behind the area that is one way in and one way out! Thank you especially to Natalie who just runs the whole place without a doubt of what youre looking for! Plenty of room to setup whatever you will provide for your event and guests. When the sun goes down during the summer, it cools off and youre able to enjoy the beautiful night sky! Ceiling fans are inside of the building to keep the cool air circulated. In the particular event that I played for, they had mobile AC units and the AC was running inside the establishment. The restrooms are clean and have multiple stalls. They have a wonderful and sturdy stage for your entertainment needs. I would love to play here again soon!

BRIDES BEWARE!!! Don t be fooled by this beautiful venue! The staff is a revolving door of rude and genuinely awful people! Save yourself the heartache the day of your wedding and find somewhere else! The day of my wedding, nothing was set up, and staff was giving tours UP UNTIL MY CEREMONY! The awful woman working there, approached me (the bride!) at my reception and said I needed to leave or lose my security deposit. When I showed her my contact, she rolled her eyes and stated, that sounds like the old manager and walked away. Now the company will not return any phone calls regarding my security deposit. My wedding was beautiful thanks to my wonderful family, but I would recommend staying as far away from this place as possible.

Went for retirement party. I found the grounds very charming. There are several areas to explore such as the historic buildings and the look out point. The look out point had pick nick tables and over head lights on the deck and extends over the side of a ravine. It is a very romantic spot and I love the chandelier suspended from the tree. The main barn is decorated In charming rustic country. I would recommend for events. The only down side was the mosquitoes since there are no screens on the windows but I went after some heavy rain.

This place is a hidden gem in San Antonio. We were going for a rustic theme, but didnt want to leave San Antonio. Where do I start. There is so much to do on site. The actual venue itself is so breath taking. Guests can entertain themselves touring the settlement, or feeding the donkeys, or playing outdoors games, or even starting a fire to make smores. Melissa was so helpful and patient throughout the whole process. Our guests LOVED the venue, we received so many compliments. Hopefully I am back for future weddings.

I am very displeased with the management and their communication (or lack thereof). I called to book a tour on a Friday afternoon and nobody answered, which was fine and I left a detailed voicemail about what I was looking for. I waited a week and never received a call back. I decided to send an email and try to book a tour that way. The email communication was fast, she would respond either same or next day. We set up a tour for a Monday at 2pm. When the day of our tour came we arrived early at 1:30 and I gave her a call to let her know we had arrived. No answer, I didn t leave a message. At 1:45 we tried again because the gate was locked and wanted to know if there was a way we could come inside the gate to wait, again no answer and I didn t leave a message. Right before 2pm she still had not shown and I left a message with my name saying we were there waiting for our 2pm appointment because again...she didn t answer! At 2:15 she still had not shown, had not given us a call, and had not answered. It s 4:30pm as I am writing this and there was still no communication from her. If management is this unreliable for a tour day I cannot imagine how they would treat clients on their actual wedding day.

If I could give 10 stars to this venue, I would. I cannot tell you how wonderful it was working with The Settlement, and especially with their new manager, Anna. The management changed shortly before our wedding and I was w bit nervous that Anna wouldn t know what was going on. I could not have been more wrong. She went above and beyond to make sure everything went as planned. She helped find vendors when some of ours fell through, she set up all day with us, and she was an absolute joy the entire time. We had multiple vendors on site, s mores at the bonfire, and we even had a Ferris wheel. The Settlement was the perfect location and size and I think they ve found their perfect manager. Anna, Ben and I cannot thank you enough for making sure our wedding went as planned. I would recommend The Settlement and working with Anna to anyone looking for the best outdoor, rustic, barn wedding venue in Texas!

A large rustic barn converted to place for weddings and/or receptions. Out-of-the-way location with plenty of parking and surrounding land. Area for DJ and dancing, in door restrooms, food service and small bar. The wedding I attended had about 175- 200 people. It appeared to go off without a hitch.

***BEWARE*** I had my wedding here back in April and it was the worst experience dealing with management. 2 months before my wedding they fired the manager (who I had been dealing with the whole time) so I was having to deal with the owners who knew NOTHING about my wedding. I had spent a couple hours out of my day one day to fill out my floor plan that was supposed to be set up for me when we got there. The day we went to set up and NOTHING was done. There were WAY too many tables and chairs in the barn so my bridesmaids and I had to take them all down and haul them to the back which took about 2 hours .. and trust me , they are HEAVY ! My dad had built a bar for the reception barn and an entry to my outside ceremony made out of old doors. My wedding day, the new manager (this was her first day) and my dad agreed on them buying the bar for $250 and said that they wanted to keep the doors for a couple weeks to see if they had any interest in them and that if they did they would purchase them. At the end of the night the people we hired to clean up were kicked out 30 minutes prior to when they were supposed to be out and were told that there was no event the next day so they could come back the next day. Well, when we came back the next day everything was already cleaned up and there was no mention of ANY problems what so ever. A couple months go by and my dad expressed his concern to me that he had not yet received his deposit back. I called the manager and she said she needed to figure it out because I was her first wedding. Another month and a half went by and still nothing. I messaged them on Facebook , saw that they had read it so messaged them again the next day and THEY BLOCKED ME!!! After sending numerous emails after that they FINALLY responded and said that there was supposedly a broken chair in the bridal suite (why would you put a brittle broken chair in there for people to sit on then ?!) which also supposedly cost more than the $500 deposit! Ha ... yeah ooookay! They lied about the doors and said there was never an agreement to leave them there which was said to NUMEROUS people including my brother in law the day after the wedding when he went to finish cleaning up for us and their email response to me getting them back was a simple per your contract you had 24 hours to get everything off our property . ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! They also tried to say I owed them money for the chandeliers, but I gave the owner cash for them that night. I FINALLY got them to agree to pay for the bar and waited and had to be on them constantly for that payment another month and a half. Y all, this place is NOT worth the hassle! I would strongly suggest to steer clear from this place! Not worth the $5500!

Their supposed A/C doesnt work at all. Only staff on site was a teenager who wasnt equipped to handle the situation. Chairs are kept in backroom together with the spiders, didnt even bother to clean them up before the event. They also play music way too loud until late into the night. No consideration for neighbors.

The settlement circa 1850 or the 1850 settlement was amazing! We had our wedding 4/8/2017 on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. The Settlement provided the most perfect setting for the guests to enjoy the gorgeous weather of San Antonio. I fell in love with a rustic chic barn wedding when I started planning, and this was the closest barn from San Antonio. Besides the convenience of location, the barn itself is amazing. The details of the original settlement and of the newly built barn really sets it apart from any other venues we visited. The owners could not be more friendly. They even bought out a surprise pony named miss Scarlett during our cocktail hour that won the heart of all the guests. Our parents could not be more happy with our wedding and our guest could not stop gushing over how nice and fun the wedding was! Picking this venue was the best decision we made. The best part is the owner is relentless in improving the facilities constantly. By the time we had our wedding, there were so many more nice surprise updates in the facility and the decor that werent even present when we signed our lease a year earlier! i would definitely recommend this venue and perhaps come back for our vow renewals in the future!

We were married at The Settlement in March 2017. There are lots of options out there, but we undoubtedly chose the right one! The Settlement was as an excellent choice, and the venue, itself, was one of the highlights of the occasion. The grounds are spacious and picturesque and the pricing is fair. This establishment grants reasonable latitude for desired extras, and even worked with our vendors who were not on their pre-approved list. Highly recommend this venue.
