She was previously at Rabalais which is how we met her. - We paid the whole fee upfront to probate mothers will. She left the practice soon after without any warning and no further assistance from the firm either. No refund, no written notice, no guidance, nothing. They both stink.

I needed to probate a will and contacted the Sheen Law. Best move ever! She explained I did NOT need to go through probate and the better (and free) alternative. I said you just talked yourself out of a generous fee . She replied Yes, but I did the right thing . Isn t that what you want in an attorney?? What a trust builder.

I found Amanda via a recommendation on an online group and do not have enough good things to say about her. As an attorney myself, I have fairly high expectations and after paying quite a bit for the services of another attorney from a respected firm in town, I recently revisited the will and found some troubling errors/omissions and knew that I needed to get the best eyes possible on updating our wills. Amanda has been tremendously responsible, professional, and has gone above and beyond to ensure that our unique issues were addressed (side note: if you are a foster or adoptive parent, Amanda has bent over backward to ensure that all issues related to foster care/adoption are addressed in our estate planning). If you are looking for an attorney to help you draft your will/help you with estate planning, I cannot recommend Amanda strongly enough.

Pro - 4 Stars: Knowledgeable and professional Con - minus 2 Stars: Cost. Very expensive in my opinion. Cost: Initial consultation $200, which will be applied towards the Trust or Will. $5,000 for a Trust, and $2,500 for a Will. She would assist with filing documentation where possible. Pricing was upfront. 50% initially, and 50% upon completion. Refunds are possible, minus any any work already done at $400 per hour, and if you paid by credit card merchant fees (around 2.8%). Ms. Skeen is kind and knowledgeable; however, she is also very expensive. If you have a small estate, that wont require much in the way of paperwork and research (a normal household in my opinion), then you may want to use a different firm for a much lower cost. If you have a complicated situation, (multiple businesses, homes, kids with former wives) then her flat rate vs. time will be your choice.

Skeen Law is a full price, full service estate and probate law firm. This firm is very small and Amanda does her best to get to know clients on a personal level. While Skeen Law isnt the cheapest legal firm in San Antonio they do an outstanding job. Lindsey and Amanda came in over the holiday break to ensure my needs were met. If your loved one passed away and you arent sure where to begin closing the estate this is a one stop shop. They go above and beyond for their clients and go out of their way to meet clients needs. I selected Skeen Law Firm based on fact that they had the best reviews for Estate Planning of any attorney on the north side of San Antonio. I understand now WHY Amada Skeen and firm have such great reviews. My wife and I wanted to set up a system where any assets we had , once one or both of us were deceased, would be distributed correctly, the recipient (heir) wouldnt have to deal with probate court and the process would be simple for them. Amanda was so helpful in explaining the options in the initial appointment. In that same initial meeting we were able to decide on and initiate the process for her firm to prepare a family trust package that spelled out all asset distribution and would include wills and medical directives. They quickly prepared all of the documentation, we picked it up for review, we marked up for a few minor changes required, and, a few days later, came back one final appointment to sign and finalize everything. Were so glad we choose Skeen Law Firm, Amanda was SO pleasant to work with and the whole process could not have been easier. 5 star firm all the way.

From the initial appointment with Amanda, I knew I had found the right attorney to handle my estate planning.
