The server Justin, was trying to flirt with my girl, made a weird gesture with the crab boil. He knelt down to talk to her, a gesture not returned to any other guests. Unprofessional. The owner did not contact me, and took too long to get back to me like they stated in their reply

We left a few minutes after getting there. The music was obnoxiously loud. We couldn t even hear the server list the drink specials or hear each other as a party of 2. They don t even list the market price. We complained to the manager and his excuse was a customer asked the music to be turned up. The atmosphere even felt ghetto. Don t waste your time or money for a lousy experience. If I could I would give it no stars.

Alle was our waitress, she was very rude. My husband tipped her against my wishes. The atmosphere is beyond loud. I eat quickly this way I can leave asap. The service was good. The quality not so much. The crab clusters came broken, food was not fully seasoned, and the food was not the correct portion. My order had 1lb of shrimp, but they only gave us 1/2lb. I order seafood by the pound often, so I could tell it was not correct, but they still charged me for more than what I was given. It would be better to just go to HEB and get their seafood boil on the weekends, better flavor and value. The chicken wings are good, they are fried hard and seasoned well.

Just came in for the first time, our server was Sierra I believe. She did phenomenal, Im usually a surfing crab kinda girl but the crab legs here were wayy better. This is a great place for seafood. The prices arent bad at all and the food is delicious. We tried a pound of crawfish and they were flavorful and a good size unlike other places in San Antonio. We also had the fried crawfish basket and the crawfish poboy. Both were worth the cost and tasted great. We also opted for the Cajun fries which were done well and perfect. This was our first time but we will be back.

We sat down at the table and it took at least 10 mins to greet us, another 10 mins to take our order even though we were told she would be right back. We ordered an appetizer and my grandsons meal to come out with the appetizer. She went to put that in and would come right back to take our order. Another 15 mins went by and nothing. We had to call the server to come over. We got the appetizer and my grandsons meal 5 mins before we got our meal even though they were put in at different times. Our meal was delicious though!! I got the weekend special and my daughter got a boil with crab legs and shrimp. We needed a little more spice so they brought us out some more spice and it was perfect. Overall it was worth going with how amazing the food came out.

They advertise that they close at 11pm on Saturday. (I arrived at 9:50) We were rushed the entire time!! By 10:30 they turned the lights on and started playing that closing time song and asked us to pay and if we wanted to take our food to go. I actually gave her cash with my dirty hands covered in juice bc I was in the middle of eating when shes standing there asking for payment. I get that people want to go home but then DONT advertise that you stay open until 11 then. First time here and we will not be back. mild had no heat at all. we ordered the monday special that comes with snow crab, and the waiter didnt bring the crab meet fork till about halfway through dinner, the fork was definitley needed as the crab was overcooked. We never did get the cracker for the crab. I ordered a margarita, and had about 1/4 of it left when the waiter came and asked me if I wanted another and I said no, and then he took the margarita I wasnt finished with yet.

Went today for my birthday its Changed Drastically since last year They literally started using paper plates for appetizer serving And everyone had to use One crab Leg tool As well...kind of embarrassing To invite my family at a place that does that like if were eating out of a taco truck I guess.. Owner walked around in warm up pants an dirty T-shirt, Getting after staff members And eating while walking around doing so. The food had limited portions as of 5 calamari strips to a paper bowl on the table. As someone else shared we had the same experience- strip club/club music playing. All unedited songs such as slob on my knob and n***** bombs in almost every song. Very inappropriate for guests celebrating birthdays with kids as young as 1-2 years old, my own four year olds son or elderly there. Not very family friendly. Asked to speak to a manager and spoke with someone named Ramon claiming to be the manager. Very unprofessional. Didn t even apologize, just blamed the music jukebox and they have no control. However, the WHOLE time we were there it said music has been paused it was playing from a speaker attached to someone s phone. When I told him he said I was lying and that it was the jukeboxes fault and that it s happened before and he ll let the jukebox company know but they have no control over what plays. Unedited songs? In a family restaurant? That doesn t play on a jukebox. Maybe edited (trust me I know I ve worked in a place that had one and if it malfunctioned as he s claiming there s a way to override it and or turn it off. When I asked to speak to someone higher, he said he was the GM and no one was higher than him. My family and I spent over $170 there for dinner and had to sit through club/ inappropriate music the whole time. And for the manager (or who claims to be the manager) he said he found nothing wrong with the music playing. Sad. Just sad. We loved going there and it certainly makes me question ever taking my family (especially my son) back to a place like that.

My niece has been telling me about this place for a couple of years. So, we took the opportunity to check it out today. I live on the northeast side this is on the northwest side of town. It was not busy at all when we went around 3 ish on a Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving, so there was no waiting to be seated. It was actually the perfect time to go in there. The staff was lackluster across-the-board, no one was friendly or spoke or even looked happy or like they liked their jobs. I thought that was odd. The service was mediocre. Our waitress appeared to be bored out of her mind, not helpful at all, robotic, and not warm or friendly. Needless to say, shes lucky she got a tip, but I gave her less than 18%. Since I just had to leave a tip, she got what I felt she deserved? The food was nothing to write home about. I like the Smashing crab much better. I would give it an overall 6 out of 10, only because my niece and I enjoyed the décor inside and taking selfies in the mirror. My niece wanted to do that. LOL. I would give it a try just to see if you like it. My niece loves it. I did not. I prefer smashing crab or even crabby jacks on the river. Walk, which is not much better. I told my niece next time we would just hit red lobster. Parking: Covered parking was cool.

Coming from Florida I was a little hesitant on sea food inland Texas, but I am so happy we did. Steven our waiter was great, both friendly and attentive. Gumbo was fenominal, fried sampler was so delicious! I am not sure what they batter the food with but its delicious thin and perfectly fried. Bar tender made delicious red hook hurricane and watermelon cruise. Thank you to Steven and the rest of the crew at Red Hook.

Loved it. Sea Island was our staple for fifty years, but after their last visit - followed by this amazing trip to Red Hook, well be coming back here and skipping the Island. The appetizers were great, service was amazing, and always something to watch and see while there. Highly recommended.

Only 2 waiters available. I completely understand being short staffed but we got seated at our table, waited 20-25 minutes, people were sat after us and they got attended first. Not even drinks were offered, absolutely nothing. Maybe their food would ve been good but we never got the chance to try it out as we walked out for bad service.

The food was great the location was easy to find the parking was great but the service was horrible Anna started by sternly repeating my order back to me when I miss heard her the first time then she gave us our check and asked if we needed a bag to go when we weren t close to being done then when we were really done she asked if we wanted her to package it up we agreed then she handed me the bag with attitude! And when we got the check it was wrong ! She then goes on to checkout and had the audacity to gasp at no tip well yeah if you were nice you would ve smh first time sucked because of her

This place! Hands down, THE BEST seafood boiler restaurant Ive ever been to. Ive been to numerous (not all, mind you) of seafood boilers in LV, HI, AZ, and CA. Red Hook is the best! The food, for one, is served on a platter, not in a plastic bag. I cant help but feel Im eating out of a clear kitchen trash bag. The seafood (lobster, green mussels, shrimp, and 2 kinds of (yes, we added to the meal see the pic) crab was boiled to perfection! The corn was crunchy and juicy, and the sausage just kicked the sauce into the right gear. Nothing chewy, nothing dry... in no way over or under done. Its like they boiled/cooked each item separately because, idk how each of the items came out to perfection! Theme size if each item did not disappoint! The service was excellent. Our waitress had a trainee with her, and both were excellent. Checked on us, noticing were good or was short on stuff on our table. Always smiling and was friendly enough to join in conversations with us. Both were very pleasant and well put together... the trainer is a people person, and her ways prove the why she is a trainer. And the trainee... shes going to fit in just great with the establishment. Their atmosphere wins over all as well. The corny (but tasteful) under the sea theme all of the seafood boiler restaurants try to portray is done best here. Im a sports fan, so the many TV screens throughout the restaurant are a plus. I should mention they have a bar for while you wait for your table because, well as great as Im rating this place, you can be sure the locals know about this place and it will get busy. The bar is a nice while you wait touch for the dining experience. We didnt need to wait long, actually. If havent tried YOU GOTTA TRY! If youre planning to be in San Antonio, make sure this place is on your Ill be there list!

This place is one of my favorite seafood restaurants. I have yet to be served with a sour pus server. They are all friendly and offer tasty recommendations. Yum! I personally love their boils with their red hook special blend and FIRE spicy level. If you havent tried it, you should.

Came for lunch. Got seated pretty quick! Service was pretty slow. Has a cool lil vibe, music was kind of loud but at least there was a good selection. Ordered wings and a boil. Wings were a little bit crispier for my liking and really small. Flavor was good! The boil was ok, sauce is the secret! A little runny some added roux for thickness would be better. Had to doctor it up with a mixture of trifecta and the Red Hook Special with lots of fresh squeezed lemons.
