Great place to get off your feet, listen to live acoustic music, watch a game on TV or order a light meal off the menu and try one of their tasty cocktails The hurricane is very good, its made with 151 rum and balanced well with fruit punch, plus you can keep the glass if you wish to do so. The vibe here when I went was totally chill, people hanging out, having a good time The staff here is nice No parking Might be tight for wheelchairs or assisted mobility

I had a fantastic Saturday night at Pat OBriens San Antonio, enjoying live music and a few Old Fashioned drinks. Part of the Pat OBriens franchise, Ive never visited the New Orleans original, but Ive been to the San Antonio replica a few times and I like it for the atmosphere and its proximity to the Riverwalk and various parking lots and garages. Next time, I plan to check out their 2nd floor and piano bar. Ive never ordered food here, but Ive tried their Hurricane Cocktail. Although I like it, I always go back to one of my favorites, the Old Fashioned or whiskey. The bar is a bit small and can feel unwelcoming due to how busy it gets, but the bartenders do a great job at keeping the orders flowing. Highly recommend!

A decent place with some nice snack foods and a vast list of drinks to choose from. A nice place to just relax and socialize. Its both indoors and outdoors seating so the feeling will be different but the moment you enter it kind of feels like youre being transported into a different space. Theres a short little tunnel to walk through with a few decorations, lights and some scattered tables and seating here and there until you suddenly come across a space with a stage for live performances and tables. Inside seems smaller than the outdoor space but still fits enough people and has more lights and decor that frame the bar area and to spruce up the environment. We decided to sit outdoors since it was good weather and they had a lovely fountain covered with flowers that theyd occasionally sometimes come to light up so you get a beautiful mix of flames and water at the same time (it will get pretty warm after that so try to seat farther for the best view). The live music is also very nice and livens up the area into being more active and chattery without being too loud or over the top based on whos playing that day (for us it was a band called Dyed Skies who has some pretty decent music). It feels close yet gives you enough space to move freely and not feel like a can of sardines but is still pretty laidback; not so much expecting to party but still a good place to spend time with others. Theres also a room up above that I believe is reservation only to host events (typically private) such as weddings, corporate functions, etc. that has a balcony where you can look down and still enjoy the live performances and view. We werent able to see inside but Im sure its a lovely space where people can host various functions. The food here is good and pretty filling. We got the grilled cheese and fries which I really enjoyed since its pretty simple but the cheddar had a nice thick cut and the bread was buttery and soft which made for a very warm meal to share. The fries are also great. Most of the items offered are simple foods typical at a lot of bar establishments but they taste good! Most if not all of the drinks you can order virgin style as well (although its in best practice ask first rather than assume). I got the hurricane without the rum but it was a pretty good drink with lots of citrus and fruity flavor. If youre a fan of sweet and tangy drinks then I highly recommend this one. Our waitress was very sweet and polite and made sure to keep us updated on our orders which was kind. The staff were all friendly and helpful and pretty neutral. Overall we had a good experience and enjoyed our time there. If you want someplace to unwind (or maybe to jumpstart your night out) this would be a great place to just relax, enjoy a performance and have a good time without a lot of high energy and activity. Kid-friendliness: The menu typically has a lot of items that children could eat. There is a kids menu section but its only two items so very minimal to choose from. Children are allowed but its not geared much towards expecting them to be present in the environment. Wheelchair accessibility: Besides the cobblestone tunnel that may cause some discomfort, theres plenty of flat open area and space to maneuver without much difficulty.

My husband and I went in for drinks, horrible customer service. A thin white lady with very short hair was behind the bar, she never came to our table, I had to go to bar and order our drinks, she then said she forgot about our drinks and we waited over 15 mins. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Stay away from this establishment, service is horrible.

I really love this place. Went there every weekend when I lived there and go there everytime I visit now. Live musoc on the patio plus a piano bar. And everyone is super friendly. There was one man that was extremely drunk one day and he knocked my drink down and tried tk hit me and for some reason the security kicked me out instead of the drunk man. However, the waitress saw the whole thing and was able to let us in. For this they lose a star. If your security has such bad judgment I start to lose interest.

So we came over from Houston today with the express intent of taking two of our party members to this establishment for the first time. Get here and sit for 15 minutes before any of the staff even acknowledge us then we are told the kitchen is closed even though their website clearly states that the kitchen closes at 11pm (it was 9:55 when we arrived) a manager saunters over and full on says oh that s New Orleans. No sir it is your location. His response is that they do the website and he has no control over it but he is sorry there is nothing he can do about it it s out of his hands. The absolute worst experience ever at Pat O Briens. I m beyond embarassed that we fought the weekend riverwalk crowds to come down here for absolutely nothing. Never again no matter how much I love this concept

If you are expecting the food to taste like it does in New Orleans skip this place. It is like they have white washed everything. They need a Cajun back there cooking. It was all so bland and I love Pat O Brien s in NOLA. They have a picture of a drink sampler which looks so pretty and then what they bring out is half filled mouth wash looking cups. Our waiter was awesome. There was live music which wasn t extraordinary but the ambiance was good. It isn t on the Riverwalk but is in Alamo Plaza. The menu is VERY limited.

VERY RUDE! VERY HORRIBLE! For a place that was dead I d expect they d be welcoming to everyone but i guess that s why. I work in the night industry as a bartender so I m not speaking to just be ugly either, it was a very upsetting experience.

The chips didnt seem to be fresh and the queso Im sorry to say was not appealing. The queso looked like they tried to melt cheez whiz on top of the chips and add chopped chives on top. I ate one and couldnt eat any.ore than that. We despise wasting food but in this case we couldnt eat them.

I ve been there for the first time, and I have nothing to say about it. Rude waiter and bartender, as everyones commented for the 1-star review. I ordered French fries for over 30 mins and wondered how hard to cook them, so I asked a waiter; she said I would check on it, and she came back and said there was no order. I told her I was ordering with a guy standing next to her. Unfortunately, a guy waiter forgot to place my order. Of course, you are just walking around and talking to everyone for no reason. Furthermore, the drink price was very insane. I paid $45 for three drinks, tips, a dirty table, and a floor. Wondering why do I have to tip because I cleaned a table myself and served my own drink.

We ended up enjoying a few hurricanes with a muffuletta while we listened to the band play classic rock and 90 s rock. All in all we had a great experience and would suggest popping in for some patio time. I just REALLY wanted that étouffée!

Nachos hit the spot after walking around downtown. The andouille sausage was a nice touch. My other half went with the burger. Of course I had a few bites. She ordered it medium and she got it medium. Burger was juicy and flavorful 4 stars for the service. Our server was personable, but was a little too long winded and slacked when it came time to wrap up our check. Other than that we had a blast. One last thing. So we went here for a wedding after party. We were having a great time. The band in the court yard was good, and the drinks were good. Nothing fancy some beers and hurricanes. So at closing time, we were leaving, and a security guard was pushing someone out of the entrance down the stairs, which were pretty steep. The person who got pushed out fell into my friend who ended up falling on the ground. The bouncer was big and I understand he may have been upset with the patron, but I am not sure that was the best way to handle the situation.

Great fun place. Good food & drinks. Live music was nice tonight. I had the nachos, they were plentiful & delicious. Chips were plain, like out of a store bought bag...but held up well to the cheese & sour cream. My son had the jambalaya. He said it was a lot. He can eat too. I was surprised he didnt finish it. He liked it, said it was very flavourful. The hurricane is nice & strong, like Jimmy Buffet recommended. I cant give 5 stars because there was a cover charge of $2 pp added to the check and a credit card service fee. There is no signage at the entrance or on the menu to advise or forewarn of these charges. My waitress was excellent. Much better than ones Ive had in the past. She was very attentive, smiled, and seemed happy to be doing her job. Im not sure why they have a cover charge. Seems like just a coy way to make a few extra bucks. Be cautious.

There were 4 other tables, all white. We were sitting in the patio when a waiter started handing out mardi gras beads. He gave beads to the 2 tables to our right, SKIPPED US!!! and then gave beads to the 2 tables to our left. Thought he would be back to give us beads. He did come back but only to give beads to the other white table he missed. Then about 15 minutes later, another waiter brought us our check, even though we did not ask for it!!! They where obviosuly trying to get rid of us because we did not fit in!! Never been more insulted!! Will never come back!!! White people only!!!

This bar is okay but the bouncer at the back door was really rude. We arranged for our wedding party to meet there after our reception ended. After a perfect day, we arrive on a carriage clearly as a bride and groom. The bouncer gives us an ugly look and tells us we can t enter because it s the back door and we need to walk around. Mind you, it s raining, and we are in a wedding dress and tux clearly a special occasion but he wanted us to walk in the rain for principle. Didn t greet us with a smile, apologize for the burden of walking around, or say congratulations. Heck he didn t even say hello. He just hated his job and wanted us to know he didn t care it was our wedding day. All he did was told us the carriage dropped us at the wrong side. It s sad that he was the worst part of my day and the whole reason for the negative review.

What a dirty hole. Couldn t get service to save our lives. They would show the specialty drinks in a good size glass on the menu and then serve in a little plastic cup without adjusting price. Piano people were ok.

The dueling piano players were horrible. They seemed like they hated their job and were going through the motions. Tipped the blonde lady and she immediately handed my money back and said we dont play that stuff. Frank Sinatra type music? Really. If you dont like your job, quit. Its all the rage nowdays.

The Grand Promenade on the top floor was a great venue for my wedding. Christa was very helpful, the food was delicious, and the bartenders were great. Everything was set up on time, and my vendors were able to work easily. Highly recommend for your wedding reception.

Hands down it ended up being my favorite restaurant in San Antonio while visiting. Originally I expected Irish cuisine, but walking in and seeing German beer steins hanging from the ceiling only intrigued me further. Then when the menu had options like Gumbo and Jambalaya I was hooked! I tried both dishes and they are delicious. The Gumbo is a must try! The patio was great as well, with live music nightly. I had the pleasure of listening to Island Mind play while there. Service was amazing and attentive and was great at suggesting options. If I return to the area again, Ill definitely be visiting again.

The weakest of the Pat O s chain. They actually charge a cover! Orlando and New Orleans do not do that. Outside is nice though, music act that we saw didn t compare to the other 2 locations.

Not an Irish pub. They use the color green in their advertising and their wait staff wears green bow ties, but its all a ruse. Might be good for something else, but any bar that has Guinness in cans is definitely not an Irish pub.
