Great dive bar in an unsuspecting shopping center. We came on Wednesday for Happy Hour and it was fun and the food was great. The wings were especially good. The bartenders were very attentive. I would definitely come back again.

From out of town walked in stood at the entrance for 5 mins there was no direction on where to sit nor anyone to help. There was some party happening if your not a local I wouldnt recommend going horrible experience in my opinion.

Great place to come hang out! Clean place, bathroom is never gross, and even when packed theres never any drama. Amazing bartenders and the nights they have karoke is always a blast. The KJ there actually cares to make you sound good, not just singing in a tin can. The kitchen runs specials during the week and the food is great for bar food. Its my favorite place to get some wings. Will be returning a lot!

Ill let you decide. I really enjoy karaoke never knew about the place until my friends referred me I love their wings and also the cheeseburger they have. I have visited this place numerous times for trivia and karaoke. It is always super fun. The wait staff is very friendly. The food is good. The drinks are good reasonably priced I come all the way from the south west side of San Antonio by via trans. Because this bar feels super secure and super fun also, very disability friendly

Cooteys is your Cheers-like bar in the neighborhood. Youll meet people from all over the place. They got karaoke and live music, and weekly dart tournament. Man let me tell you, you wouldnt think that many people would show up to darts, but the whole bar fills up. Never seen any fights or problems go down at the bar, and as long as the bar isnt packed to the gills, youll get served quick. If it is, be patient and wait your time. Love this place, and really enjoy having it around. Now let me also say, this isnt the bar where you go to get an old fashioned or fancy, speakeasy cocktail. This is where you go for reasonably priced to downright inexpensive drinks, fun crowd, and belt your lungs out.

I have loved this place the two times I have went. First time as a group of five, second time as two (later becoming five). First time was amazing, the older female bartender was fantastic, and brought good conversation about karaoke and our age ( was really old classic country that we enjoyed and she was shocked to know we knew it). This time very good as well. Robert gave good shot recommendations about not mixing creamy shots with sour shots, and they modified their drink special for me by adding cherry (which is really good!) Appreciate the reply from the owner. I may have reacted harsh looking back a day later. Y all were just looking out for us. No round on you is needed, just appreciate the response.

I tried the place because it said it wasnt usually busy, but it was packed to the door when I went. The staff moved as quickly as they could but after 8 minutes at the bar without being able to even ask for a drink, I left. The staff and patrons seemed friendly, and the food smelled good, but I guess I chose the wrong night or theyve gotten really popular.

This place gets a one star due to the bartenders stupidity! Just picked up my 19 year old son from here. So they serve baby face minors without an issue, never checked an ID. Great bar, great people and good food! Karaoke every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and they bother to try and make you sound good mixed into the music! Theres always specials and they have daily food specials. Kid-friendliness: 21+ only Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible there are several ramps to get on the walk way all down the shopping strip it is located in and when on the patio of the bar they have wide gates to accommodate wheelchairs.

I went there for the karaoke. I buy food to support the bar. One of the biggest problems with karaoke is rotation management and their method of adding new people to the rotation. The manager got upset that I let the KJ know that I felt that the way he placed new additions to the roster seemed unfair. Outside of my concern, managements attitude and handling of this concern is the main reason for this rating. The KJ did what he was told to do by the manager. We will not be going to establishments that are more concerned about money than their customers. It should always be a win win.

I enjoyed my night at Cooteys Tavern. The atmosphere was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Our waitress was attentive and brought our drink orders to us quickly. I did not eat here so I am not sure if the food is good. I did take a look at their menu and their prices are very reasonable. It was Saturday night with Kareoki so that was quite entertaining. Overall, I think I would like to go out there again soon.

This place has been around for 40 years and has its usual patrons that come for a drink in this strip mall that doesnt look like much business is there. The place is clean, bartenders are attentive, and they have a few beers on tap (including Guinness). There is a pool table, fake dartboards, lounge area by pool table and tables around the floor of the bar. My only thing was the night we went there, the jukebox played non-stop country music. Maybe thats your thing, but I was done after hearing that same sounding song. Glad to visit and check it out and will come back for their Friday Fish Fry in the future.

This bar is very close to Home2Suites near the airport, so I could walk there. And I m glad I did! The bartenders were all hard workers and really cool. Meg, the daytime bartender, was a particular favorite. Drinks were prepared exactly as requested. Atmosphere and decor is reminiscent of an Irish pub (I think it s even described as an Irish pub in some postings), but it s not. Guiness and Tulamore Dew are the closest items to it being a pub. The pictures on the wall are of cowboy and old western themes, there is a sitting area outside, and there is a corner in the bar with Victorian and leather couches and chairs. Everything else is solid wood tables, chairs, and barstools. So very eclectic, but it works. The patrons are as eclectic as the surroundings. I went on karaoke night (Wednesday) and dart night on Thursday. Wednesday brought in an older crowd at about 7 pm. As the evening progressed, the customer base skewed younger and younger. On Thursday, this place was packed by 530 pm. It had blue collar, white collar, regulars, military members, retirees, etc. and everyone was so cool and nice. This is exactly what I look for in a great bar. They have plenty of tvs for sports fans. A great jukebox. Pool table and electronic dart boards. Super friendly patrons and workers. And the prices were very reasonable They do serve bar type food, and have daily food and drink specials I did not eat, but the dishes that I saw looked very good. I highly recommend this place It is at the far end of a strip center behind Walmart. Don t let the exterior fool you. This place rocks!

I hadnt been to see my friends in years and unfortunately there was new ownership, he was a real rude and nasty person. He was rude to the musicians and he kept eyeballing me like he planned on picking a fight. I couldnt wait to get out of there and Im never going back.. It was horrible. I dont recommend it, and dont see how this new owner plans on staying in business. You cant treat people that way! Theres no chance this guy can stay in business for long unless he changes his ways.. I cant recommend it to anyone ! Stay away spend your hard earned money somewhere else!

Came here with a group and my boyfriends card was charged for two separate receipts despite only having one. One came out a day later and seemed totally unrelated to his actual ticket. Then when he called around 2 today he asked for the manager and they just hung up on him. So he called back and they answered and pretended like no one was on the phone. So impressed! Clean as a restaurant, pleasant aromas and lighting. No cooties at Cooteys! Owned by a good lady, you can tell... there are hooks under tables to hold purses, hard candy at the bar, and did I mention clean? Super service, refreshing beverages.

Definitely a hole in the wall kind of place.. every time Ive gone in here its dead with an average of 5-8 ppl. Usually if there are more people, its due to a private party.. this is a GREAT PLACE for private parties!!! With a nice section where the party can hang.. Just dont expect it to be a hoping and happening kind of place.. Bartenders are nice and drink prices are average..

This location is boarded up with plywood and has a sign of warning (red and white) I didnt get close to the building but the fact that it has a sign of warning makes me feel this is a responsible action. I am going to say this location is closed due to the pandemic with a responsible response. Owners of this establishment great job. Plus it is well lighted for everyone to notice the building.

I spent a little time in San Antonio with family and only had one request - I wanted to go to a bar that felt like a dive with terrible karaoke. Well, I got exactly what I wanted (along with some pretty solid karaoke as well). They were down one bartender that night but the woman there really did a nice job regardless. If I passed through again I would come back.

Can never say enough about Cooteys! Been coming in for 10+ years. Celebrated countless birthdays, graduations, Fiesta parties and Superbowls over the years with family and friends. There is always drink specials, Spurs games and karaoke, but Wednesdays are the best, Live Trivia! Come on out sometime if you want to challenge your brain!
