Upon arriving at the restaurant, the two hosts at the entrance were very serious. I asked if there was an area where I could charge my phone, and they said there wasnt any place available for that. After being seated, we waited more than 10 minutes for someone to come to our table. The waitress didn t introduce herself and it took over 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. While waiting for our drinks, a couple was seated next to us, but they were never attended to, so they decided to leave. When our food order was finally taken, it took over 20 minutes to arrive, and the food was just average, nothing special. My kids ordered hamburgers, and we had to wait another 5 minutes for the waitress to return so we could ask for ketchup and other necessities. It s unbelievable how places like this don t care about their customers. No wonder the place was almost empty, with only four tables occupied. When we left, neither the waitress nor the hosts at the door thanked us, and the manager was nowhere to be seen. What a lack of professionalism.

It would be one thing if you were paying The Rim tax and getting really good food, but honestly, this hot chicken sandwich (upgraded with avocado, bacon, and fries) along with a tea was $31 (before tip) and it was bland as heck. It definitely wasnt hot (it wasnt even mild). The staff was great and the waitress attentive. The atmosphere was nice and clean. Go if youre seeing a specific act or if your friends force you. Just be prepared to pay a lot for mediocre food.

We had a fantastic brunch with friends on a Saturday morning. Its served family style- I highly recommend it. However, one time (on a date with my husband) we sat inside on a weeknight. While the food was good, the music was so loud we couldnt hear each other speak.

Atmosphere was very nice .. food was ok but less than what is expected for $25 a person. .. biggest problem Is training of wait staff or lack of staff .. we waited 15 min to see server in restaurant that was only quarter full .. other waiters just walked by with the not my table attitude - no teamwork .. we had to get our own napkins and silverware too - soup is served without spoon .. table was not wiped down etc .. we arrived at 9:30 with closing time posted at 11 ..

We walked in at 9:15 and were immediately told the kitchen is closing at 9:30, despite the fact that they close at 10. We were told it takes a while to clean the kitchen, so they were closing it early. SMH. We ordered quickly as the waitress stood over us. We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer and a couple of burgers. We were asked if we wanted fries instead of chips without informing us it was a 2 dollar upcharge. We got our food relatively quickly...all of it at the same time. The burger was good but that was it. The meatballs were overcooked and cold and the fries were hard as if they were recorded. Overall it was NOT an experience that will bring us back. 93.00 for that experience? No thanks. Owners and managers...if you advertise your hours, stick with those hours. A customer only has that to go by and you will lose countless number of customers. I will not be going back there and as people read and hear my experience....they wont either. You never know the amount of business you lose from just 1 bad experience.

The restaurant was out of several items, which the server told us after we had placed our order. Its the servers job to know what is 86ed, but they promptly blamed it on the kitchen for not telling them. The queso was cold. Our main entrees, a chicken sandwich and shrimp avocado salad, were pretty good but nothing extraordinary. I would never return here on my own accord.

Update, I was contacted by the owner and was told to reply to en email for customer relations and waited for for two weeks and nothing. Maybe the owner needs to retrain the employees, bad employees can ruin a business! Sat at a picnic table outside... All was well then told was told we had to move. How Rude was that. I was with a party so I didnt complain, but after being told I could sit there I felt discriminated.

Definitely not coming back. We arrived and the hostess didnt seem very organized and know where to sit us. We sat for 20 minutes before a server arrived. She took our drink and app orders, then 10 minutes later a new server came to replace the first. We put our orders in again and waited another 15-20 minutes to get the drinks, not including our waters we asked for twice. My hibiscus ranch water was so bad I had to send it back which is not something I never do. My replacement paloma was alright. The tamales are not tamales. They are cornbread. We ordered the chicken sandwich and salmon sandwich. The salmon sandwich was bad and I gave our leftovers to the dogs. The chicken sandwich was better, but mediocre at best. Honestly, fast food would have been better. I was really let down since friends had hyped the restaurant up. The only thing that saved the experience was the Bret Mullins band(duo) who contributed to the breezy ambiance. It is a shame the service and food was so bad, because it is a really cute place and would be fun if you got what you paid for (which is wayyy too high for the quality).

Do not recommend this place. Drinks are outrageous! Why would you spend $15 on a small margareta and $10 on a can of twisted tea?! We didnt know the prices cause they arent on the menu. Additionally someone at our table never got there food. We had to flag someone down to get told after everyone received their food and ate it that they didnt have the ingredients to make that item for them. Never going back! I am also not interested in talking to management - own up to this.

We went to The Rustic today, and are so glad we did. They have a Jam and Toast Brunch on Sunday. It is a lot of food for a very reasonable price. We enjoyed migas, French toast bites, biscuits and gravy, a jicama and cucumber salad, thick-sliced pepper bacon, fried chicken, freshly cut fried potatoes and lemon bars. The standouts were the migas. They were prepared an unorthodox way, but they were delicious nonetheless. The potatoes were perfectly done and were covered with a delicious sauce. The peppered bacon slice was substantial. The small biscuits were a little dense, but the cream gravy was great. Our only complaint was the front doors and the large garage doors were open to hear the live music. Their solution was to offer blankets, a nice touch, but it was not enough to knock off the chill in the restaurant. We will look forward to returning to The Rustic for brunch again.

I showed up last night with my wife and there was a wait (not a problem), so we walked over to the bar and got drinks. After a few minutes we got sat down and that s where it went downhill. We sat for 30 minutes and no server showed up. I went up to the host and asked for a server. Still, nobody showed up. We finished our drinks at about 50 minutes of sitting and waiting and we just walked up and left. Horrible, horrible service. It s sad because I usually enjoy coming here but I ve never had a situation where servers just completely ignore you. I m extremely disappointed in a place I used to enjoy going to.

Had very bad experience at this restaurant . It was a Saturday I guess we came in around shift change . The host was nice accommodating our request for a Booth. However the out going server seem to be stalling because they did not want to clean the table . I removed the dishes and clean the table myself . The server coming on appeared to have an attitude due to her being sat with 3 different tables at the same time . Gor to Rustic at 548 on Friday 3/15. Asked hostess if we could sit outside and she said yes so we picked a table. Looked at menu, etc. Settled in on a happy hour drink. But no one checked on us. Service folks are walking around, so I ask one to please send a waiter as we wanted a drink before hh ends. She comes back to ask us to move tables because that section wasnt opened yet. We move and reiterate wanting a hh drink and some snacks. She leaves, conrs back at 6 and tells us we DO have a waiter but its shift change and it will be several minutes, but we could order at the bar (?????) Inside but happy hour was now over. So we sit there not feeling to great about this place. Then a manager looking guy comes over and were like, YES, someone to help. No. He tells us that happy hour ends and 6 and that we needed to go through front door and hostess (we did) and restated shift change, etc. I stated its clear you dont want our business, well go elsewhere. He said ok. And left. Then we left for Hopdoddy and had a good dinner. Flabbergasted at the attitude. Not returning.

Im very disappointed in this place Im from Houston and our Rustic is amazing. Unfortunately I cant say the same for this place the food was ok but was cold we ordered the chill and sent it back twice before we had them take it off our tab. I am so very disappointed from my experience at The Rustic. We arrived at 4:45 and were seated, there were 6 in our party. Our waiter didn t come to our table until 5:00. All he said was there was a shift change what can I get you to drink. Not apologetic or anything. I asked him what his name was because he didn t even introduce himself. He took our drink order and then a few appetizers. After he brought our drinks he disappeared for 30 minutes. Someone else brought out our appetizers and we still needed to order. I saw someone who looked like a manager or shift leader standing nearby and asked if he could let our waiter know we really need to order our food. He came back and took our order, it was around 5:35, this is also when we had to ask for refills on our drinks because he hadn t been to our table. We waited until 6:00 and we still hadn t gotten our food. At 6:10 we had to go find him and tell him that we really needed to eat and go. We had a movie to make, the manager was standing right there, but didn t say a word, no apologies or anything. They went to the back and said that the food still wasn t ready. It was 6:20. We paid for our appetizers and drinks and left. Such a disappointment. I literally looked up this menu three times during the week because I was so looking forward to eating there. All of us ordered salad, a burger, tacos, and sandwiches specifically because we thought, that should be quick. Apparently not. The restaurant was not even close to being full, it was early. **thank you Rustic for replying, however my husband did email your customer service and has yet to receive a reply.

Food was almost insulting. I ordered an entree sized wedge salad and it was basically a side salad. They could have at least added more lettuce or put less dressing on it. It was literally a soup of blue cheese. The drinks were delicious, I had 2 of the spritz s and it wasn t too sweet and refreshing. Service is slow but it wasn t our servers fault, he was working his tail off they just made him over a huge section and it took a long time for us to get out check. The outdoor seating by the stage was fun, music was great but our table was super wobbly and the benches are very uncomfortable. After 2 drinks and a pathetic salad it was a $50 meal that I certainly would not be having again. The weather being so perfect saved the night, I will not be returning here.

The atmosphere was beautiful, it matched its name. For the service as other people stated, it seems like the servers are overstretched. We had about half a dozen servers walking around and never got a refill on the waters. It took over 20 minutes for somebody to take the order. and when the food came, it was below any expectation. As I was walking out, disappointed, I come to the realization that this is nothing more than a oversized bar, and not really meant for food or service. Just a place for adults to enjoy beverages, and maybe snack on overpriced food you can get at your local gas station. I do appreciate the servers hard work they look like they were hustling and bustling, maybe the managers need to rethink and strategize to serve the people not sitting at bars, but the one spending more money on food and drinks.

If you re looking for a fun night out with friends or a date, look no further than The Rustic in San Antonio, Texas. The live music is always great, but the last time I was there, local country music artist, Allan Hendricks, really brought the house down. But the real star of the show was the food. I d never had anything like it before. The Drunk Chick is a game hen cooked atop a beer can, stuffed with jalapeño spoon bread, smothered in ancho-lime butter. Be sure to try the seasonal deviled eggs. Both the appetizer and main dish were like a party in my mouth! As for the atmosphere, I recommend sitting outside and enjoying the live music and refreshing evening breeze. If you have dogs, they will enjoy sitting outside with you. I ll definitely be back!

Just left this place. Worst service ever. Waited 15 minutes to take our order even though there was only one other person at the bar. Ordered a lemon drop martini asked for vodka not gin was on the happy hour menu. Bartender did NOT mention any extra charge to switch to vodka. Got my bill charged me $12.95+ $4.95 extra charge to change to vodka. No one came back once our drinks were finished Only 10 to 15 people in the entire bar. When we spoke to the manager he was rude. Amazing atmosphere! Great music and a beautiful open space. However, the food and service is mediocre. Mac and cheese was delicious. The rustic burger had a nice soft bun and decent flavor. I was with my family yesterday. The restaurant is very spacious, has live music, creates experiences, among other things. However, the service is bad, you have to get up to the other table for plates, cutlery, napkins, salt, among other things, because the waiters dont show up. I hope you take this opinion to improve.

This was my first visit to San Antonio and will not be my last! The ambiance of this establishment was awesome and the food was even better. The texas hot chicken & cheese is a must try. If you go to this location ask for Chase. His service was the best i have had in awhile and he really made the dining experience enjoyable!

Visited The Rustic on new year s day for dinner. The bar was about half full and the restaurant about quarter. We were seated on the table right by the big door leading to the outdoor seating. It was pretty chilly and hence I requested a different seating, I was told there were limited servers and that they had blankets. I requested to at least get those doors closed to which they obliged. A server was assigned to us within few minutes. Food came out at a decent pace but we were not impressed with the aesthetics of food presentation or the flavors of what we ordered. For appetizers, we ordered chips and queso. Apparently they don t have tortilla chips. They came with potato chips. The combination of potato chips and queso wasn t the best at taste. They also charge $16.95$ for that. The tortilla chicken soup cup was all stained with soup and condiments. Not very pleasing to look or touch. It was little on the spicier side and so was the Mac and cheese. My friend ordered pork chop which came with some sort of mash, unsure what but the way it was plated, looked like corn bread was dropped on the floor which broke to pieces and they just picked it and put it on the plate. Per my friend the pork chop was decent. Also we were not given any silver ware or napkins. Water was not refilled. We had to ask for both of these items. The ambiance of the place is good but food and service can be better.

the food was fresh, the drinks were good and it came out so prefect looking, not that it matters because it taste good either way, but still. The server was nice and kind to the big party I brought to eat with me. I got the spicy chicken sandwich thing they had and a fair warning, carful with the jalapeño on top. It was delicious but damn it had me in tears. Super spicy

To have such a great atmosphere, you d expect the food to match. Unfortunately, this is not the case. We ordered the chipotle salmon burger & rustic burger were missing that edge. The drinks were good, however, I m not feeling like the wicked witch of the West, so why must I drink out of a cauldron? I didn t order a margarita, but a simple beer. So with that, get regular beer glasses. I think the only reason this place keeps a float is because the drink & service are good. Would I return? Probably not.

We have a good time here Weve enjoyed brunch and an early dinner with beer and cocktails. Management is very involved with customers. Local-to-Texas performers. Concerts are advertised on their FB page. The Rim parking garage is right next door.

My family and I experienced a form of discrimination. The hostess was rude upon arrival and attempted to sit us way in the back of the outside patio when there was plenty of sitting available. The menu was extremely limited to only brunch items. We chose to leave and went to another restaurant where we were treated well and felt welcomed.

Had my 20th work anniversary here on Thursday afternoon. We were able to make a reservation for 10 on the same day. It was my first time there, and my first thought was that it was a big space. Theres an indoor and outdoor space to accommodate your preference. Theres a stage outside live music. Food selection was really good. I had the tamales as an appetizer and texas quail for dinner. To drink, I had the texican candy and Rhe Rustic legendary Rita. Dessert, we shared icebox smore and banana pudding.

It looks like a fantastic place to hang out with friends if you re very loaded with money the drinks were nice but I don t know why the drinks are $25 each plus when I went the people that went there looked like doctors and lawyers and I m not sure if I d go there alone. Waited well over 40 minutes for my food. The server, Matt , had told me 4 times that it would be right out with no other explanation or apology. We had to ask several times for many of the drinks for our table. I am not inclined to believe that Matt is his name based on how many times he lied to us about our meal and his rude laughter as he walked away once asked about his name. In the case that this was not his name, he was about 5 8 , had short black hair, and gold hoop earring with turtle shell glasses. It is mine and my families recommendation that he no longer be employed here or in any customer service position as he is clearly not cut out for it. He audaciously tried to charge us for the salmon we waited 40 minutes for and a whiskey over ice incorrectly presented on the bill as an old fashioned, which we sent back because his recommendation was, to nobodies surprise, horrible. We will not be returning, oh and don t order the two dip combo unless you prefer your chips to taste of styrofoam.

the cactus fríes appetizer wow, incredibly underwhelming for it to be $10+ for 6 pieces. extremely mid. it s like they fitted the cactus strips inside microwaveable mozarella stick shells that were too big it was really soft and limpy and it kept falling apart we we tried to eat it. somehow it was worse than microwaveable mozarella sticks though. my family each got a different burger, the portobello burger is the only vegetarian option it seems like and it was very salty. the other burgers were good. the mac and cheese side was amazing. overall the service was good and quick. prices are pretty expensive but pretty standard for a restaurant at the rim. please just fix that cactus fries disaster

I first tried The Rustic a couple of years back and it was a NO!! The food lacked identity. Some Mexican inspired dishes that were too off base. This morning I wanted to try a brunch and it looked promising. Indeed the brunch is way better and the variety was great. But the service was terrible. Waiter never quite understood what we were wanting in terms of drinks. He was not knowledgeable on the drink options and we ended up paying for extra drinks that were were not wanting because he could not get our dinks right. We ended up with a bottle of champagne we could not finish. Then he tried to remove it claiming he did I not want up to overdrink when we did not look over served and we were not about to leave a $30 bottle of champagne. Long story short, service still sucks!

You can NOT get a drink here. Takes 30 minutes to get a drink. So you see that management asked me to reach out. I did and did not get a reply. But, I decided to give it a try again last night. There was a performer on stage and they sounded good. But again, the service was lacking. Waited 15 minutes and no one came to our table. Flagged down the hostess and asked if we had a server and she said she would get them. Came back and dropped the a couple of cocktail napkins on the table which in restaurant language means you have been greeted and offered service. Another 5 minutes and no one still came by. It was not that busy as we were initially sat immediately at iur table. We left and walked across the street to Mashed. WOW! The Rustic should take lessons or try and hire Annie away from them. Less than 30 seconds after were were sat she had our drink orders taken. And it took less than 5 minutes to serve them. We had a great meal and 4 drinks each. The food was excellent and the drinks were great and they are less expensive than the rustic. So walk on through the rustic, it is a great looking place. But lipstick on a pig is not a good date. By the way, a friend of mine warned me before the first visit of mine that 4 months ago they could not even get beers in less than 30 minutes. I should have listened.

Fun atmosphere. Decent service (our waitress took a while to greet us). Food was ok. I didnt like the shredded chicken on the quesadillas. The beer can drunk chick was excellent! The smore was really good, but wasnt a smore. Most disappointing was the 4oz frozen margarita for $11.45. We asked for an Italian margarita (which just adds a shot of amaretto) and were charged an additional $9.50 making the 4oz drink now $20.95 and we couldnt taste the alcohol. Good band!

With our first time dining in this establishment we were very dissatisfied with the level of service and professionalism that was given. We waited at least 10 minutes after deciding we didnt want a appetizer to get our order taken.Our food was not up to par we ordered the Quail and the Rustic Burger. The rustic burger was not dressed with any aioli sauce and our broccolini was not warm at all! We got the burger remade and it came with two pickles with the burger and the first one didnt come with it. Justin our manager didnt even comp our meal after we telling them that the service was horrible. He even stalled on checking on our food after we said that our burger was cold. Our server didnt disclose her name and was nowhere to be found when our food was delivered by another employee to check to see if our food was good and enjoyable. We will never go back to this place just from the professionalism that was given not even made just sheerly disappointed. To make matters worse we were even charged for the cold broccolini.

Service was okay. Waitress messed up order and brought my order as a meal for 2 double the price. My bf ordered a $40 steak that got him sick. Deviled eggs tasted like they were old. Appetizer Onion RIngs not listed as spicy dish but batter definitely has spicy seasoning in it plus served with Jalepeno Ranch. I like spicy but damn that was too hot and not many were eaten by us. Bill over $200 for a party of 4 and brisket served with too much extra fat for price. Drinks not good. Beer served in Margarita glass. Wine didnt taste sweet like I requested. I dont see myself going back to this place again after this 1st and only visit made to this place.
