While there are many great dishes at Stone Werks, nothing can beat an ice cold beer and some Big Rock Nachos. Something about that combination is just comforting. Parking can be cumbersome so best to come at off peak times, but highly worth it.

Today we visited stonewerks in San Antonio at the Culebra location. Isabella stepped in mid way to wait on our table and was amazing. I have never received this good of service at any of your locations. She had a positive attitude and was so helpful during our dinner. Isabella was so friendly and made us feel welcome. We will definitely be visiting this location and asking for her. Thank you Bella for being so amazing!

Kinda noisy. They hve tvs on which were loud and music playing at the same time. The service was good. Nicole was our server. Went in on a Friday night, no wait at all. Food was decent. Salad had way to much dressing the lettuce was soggy. Oysters were good, calamari was ehhh, n the salmon was a lil over cooked. First time coming here. Prob opt for a hamburger next time. Huge selection of beers, n wines. They hve signature drinks as well. I got sum martini which was really good, had jalapeño n blueberries in it.

Very nice and cozy atmosphere. Not cramped. Friendly staff & greeters. Everything we ordered was very tasty, with nicely arranged, visually appealing platings. Wait staff was very attentive, with excellent service. Our server, Willow, delivered very friendly and terrific personal service and seemed genuine in her service, small talk and smiles.

We came for an early lunch on a Saturday and had an awesome experience. The food is excellent and has plenty of bar and grille options. The service was attentive and kind, and we really enjoyed the aesthetic. This is a place Id want to catch up with an old friend at. There are plenty of beer options with something for everyone, though it probably wont satisfy the snobbiest of beer snobs. Its casual with an upscale feel. If Im looking for a bar/grille vibe near the west side, this is the first place Im going to go.

1st time at this location. The location is very nice and clean and the service 3as great. However, the food was disappointing. First, we ordered the meat loaf, and then were told they were out. So, I decided on the SeaBass. I also ordered a side Cesar salad. The salad I was given was very sad looking, wilted lettuce, no parmesan cheese or croutons. Just lettuce and dressing pretty bland. I sent it back and canceled the salad. I received my SeaBass and it was a but dry and SUPER salty . I am a salt lover but for me to say something is salty is way too salty. I didnt even finish my meal. Its unfortunate the food was not as great as the service. Even though I did not enjoy my meal the server was great and tipped her well.

It s also a great place to go get dessert and a nightcap if you re not in for a full meal.

I use to really use to enjoy coming to eat here. Reacently (4 times) the service at the bar had been so horrible I hate it! Espically because I enjoy the food here so much. I say at the bar for 10 mins before I was greeted. Its wasnt busy, and there was only 3 people at the bar top. The two bartenders refused to acknowledge me and hold a conversation and be on their phones. I waited another 20mins for a second drink and another 15 for my check. I dont normally write reviews or complain because I work in the service industry myself, but this is ridiculous.

I attended a corporate event and found it to be quite comfortable and welcoming at the Stone Werks. Parking is often beyond the control of venues developed within commercial real estate. Handicap parking is limited to three (3) spaces in front of this location, and for such an attractive establishment, more is needed. Everything about my visit was good, with the service being excellent. A+ for a staff that properly greeted patrons upon entry, followed by servers and bartenders who took care of us. This is a solid 4+ star location, with 5 stars being reserved for the very best in their field.

The pan seared Chilean sea bass was the star of the show, with its golden brown crust giving way to a tender and juicy interior. The mashed potatoes were a perfect side dish, with a smooth consistency and just the right amount of saltiness. The asparagus was cooked to perfection, retaining its natural crunch and freshness. Not a good experience at all. Horrible management. Jennika is one of the worst managers I ve ever met. They handed me another person s online order and when I brought it back in to let them know they just looked at me and asked if the name on it was correct. It was, but it was the wrong order. Then after they fixed the mistake the manager handed it to me like it was my fault. Food was cold even though it was made fresh . This was one of my favorite places to eat but it has gone down hill and it starts with management. There are plenty of good restaurants around that area, I suggest you pick one of those and skip this place.

Weve been wanting to try this place since it opened and we were finally able to go. We might have gone on a bad day because we left so disappointed. I ordered the Greek salad and the purple olives tasted like leather and smelled really strong. They were disgusting. Two of my daughters ordered shrimp dishes. One ordered fried shrimp and the other ordered shrimp pasta instead (because they were out of sea bass) Both of them said the shrimp were off. The texture was nasty. They said they tasted like stale water. My other kid ordered tortilla soup and it was nothing like the picture. It was so thick. It looked like marinara sauce. The worst part, my husband ordered the mahi mahi and got food poisoning. He did mention the fish was off and tasted TOO fishy. The sweet iced tea was warm and bland and not sweet enough. The only good thing about our time there was the waitress. She was really nice and friendly. That and the appetizers. We left saying we should have just had the appetizers.

We have been to this location several times and we have never experienced remotely how we were treated on Mother s Day. From the moment we walked in, there were 3 hostesses standing at the counter. They did seem like they were pretty engaged in whatever it was they were looking at because it took them at least a minute to even look at me and acknowledge I was there. No one else was there waiting, the area was clear when I walked in. I even cleared my throat still no acknowledgment. Finally, I told them we had a reservation, so that part worked out. We were seated pretty quickly. However, the same ambiance we received from the hostesses was not much different from how the waitress treated us. Very unprofessional .. kept looking down at her feet and talking to us. She seemed overwhelmed and in a hurry. I get it, it s Mother s Day however the restaurant was not packed and we had just sat down. Here s a fresh opportunity to earn a great tip. NOPE! We had questions about the menu, she told us to re-read it if we have any questions. Seriously, she told us that. Anyway, my husband ordered a beer, it s been almost 24 hrs and we are still waiting on it. We ordered the fried oysters . We received 6 for $24.95 for 6 fried oysters and French fries. We were told they ran out of straws, however new tables were being sat and they were given straws well after we received our food which we have another complaint about. It took 45 mins to receive our appetizer and our meals that came out together. And our food was cold. Ordered extra sauce for the breaded snapper, we received no sauce. This was the absolute worst dining experience we have ever encountered and we will never return. Also, there was a huge bowl of flowers at the hostess stand for moms, I bet they were giving them out to moms through out the day. They never offered me one. One guy acknowledged us when we were leaving we asked him if he was the manager, he said no and just kept walking so we just left.

This is a wonderful place to get together with friends or family. Lots of families eating out on a Thursday evening but also lots of friends. TVs were on but not obnoxiously loud. Our waiter was on spot. I ordered unsweetened ice tea; probably the best I have ever had in a restaurant. We ordered the cheese curds which were hot and crispy, perfect. I ordered the prime rib sandwich. I rarely eat beef away from home as we raise our own beef. It was so good. But I wanted a little more horse radish cream on it. And for me it had too much cheese. I like the flavors to balance. It came with French fries which were warm, not hot. Overall, I liked everything we had just not sure I would go again due to the prices. If I did go back, it would be for the ice tea.

The waiter, which I wish I would have gotten his name, was very accommodating when I wanted to substitute. The presentation was good & so was the first bite. When I went for my second bite, I saw pink. The waiter and my boyfriend agreed it was pink. I sent it back & lost my appetite. It was taken off our bill, but we never had a manager come to the table. However, he did have time to stare at us from where he was standing. I have 3 stars for being seated right away, allowing me to substitute the sides and our superb waiter that apologized until we walked out.

Maybe it was a bad day, but the waitress didnt pay attention when I mentioned the booth was dirty with napkins on the floor. Maybe its me, but at this point when Im trying to eat this great meal and Im engaging in lunch... Where are the young folks manners when two people are engaged in conversation? Excuse me, how is the meal do you need anything? Nope! The young lady interrupts four times while we are trying to have a meal and a conversation without kids around. Just the absence of (employees) having manners is key when deciding to have a meal at Stone Werks, or going across the street to get Bubbas 33.

Before reading this review, please make sure you ve seen the discrepancy between the overall score and the individual score. This discrepancy is explained below. On 4/5 at approximately 7 pm, my wife and I arrived at the location. Staff was friendly, and we had a seat at the chairs in front of the fire place to enjoy some drinks before our party arrived. The drinks - a red wine and a whiskey - were tasty, and the ambiance was relaxing. Our party mostly arrived - the guest of honor was held up - and we had a grand time. Now, I am extremely intolerant to gluten. If I were to ingest, say, a sandwich that had two pieces of bread, I would be in physical pain (to include but not limited to: persistent, stabbing joint pain in _every_ joint, aching muscles, and a intestinal track that does not do its job which leads to migraines, violent visits to the bathroom, and nausea) for approximately two months. Needless to say, but I will anyways, I very much choose the safe options when going out to eat. By this I mean items which would have no logical reason to come near gluten - steaks, potatoes, steamed veggies. Not soups because, if the kitchen uses a roux or slurry to thicken the soup, boom. Gluten. I ordered a side salad with my steak, making sure to explicitly remind the waitress of my need. She brought it out, and, voila: croutons. I pointed it out, and she immediately apologized and took it back, returning quickly with a salad sans croutons. I thought, No problem. Because, of course the cooks would not just pick off the croutons of someone who has said multiple times to the kitchen/customer liaison that it s an issue. Sadly, Saturday morning, I learned my assumption was wrong. For 4 days now, because of the dust left by the croutons, I have been in gut-wrenching (literally) pain, my left shoulder feels as if I ve torn a muscle, but it s not a muscle, it s the joint, and I ve had the most all-encompassing nausea. My simple request was not taken seriously, and this now causes me to have a major distrust of the entire establishment. So, learn from me: unless you re one of the blessed who have no allergies to anything in food, be wary of this restaurant. Dietary restrictions: Do not go here if you have any.

The atmosphere is great, like an upscale sports bar type vibe. Very nice restaurant. The menu is underwhelming, the food is pretty good. The service was terrible. Restaurant was not that busy, wife had to ask for every refill she got, to the point I gave her some of my drink. Speaking of drinks, they were nearly room temperature until the ice was stirred. Just an overall lackluster experience. Manager did comp our appetizer, which is appreciated. May try again, but doubtful.

Meal and service were good. I had the meatloaf, it was good and it was not dry. The bacon wrap was a nice touch. My complaint was there was no gravy. No gravy with mashed potatoes and meatloaf!? Like I said, meal was good but a brown gravy would have made this meal great. Wifey had the Red Snapper and she enjoyed her meal. Nice casual spot.

Came to enjoy some oysters as I saw they had a few varieties. Willow was our first waitress and she was amazing with drinks and getting us our raw oysters. When we sat down on the table we ordered the next set of oysters and they were ok at best. The Louisiana Char-grilled were far from that. They just had Parmesan cheese on them and it s like one of those crème brûlée torches was taken to the top of it. It felt like I ate a scoop from those green bottles of Parmesan from the grocery store. The Rockefeller ones were ok- had they actually shucked the oysters as we ate the top and realized we never ate the oyster with it. Mind you they never came around and picked up the tray for the raw oysters this entire time. The ice started to melt and pour out and drip all over me. Had to flag down 2 different waiters as ours barely came back and then the first one never sent anyone. We ended up getting our dinner to go because the waitress never came to take our orders after we were done.

Okay, let me start by saying the food I ordered and the food I got were different. I ordered the pecan crusted chicken. And I got regular chicken. It was still so delicious. I refused to let the waitress remake my plate. The manager came over and said that it was pecan chicken even though there was not a pecan to be found on the chicken at all. This kinda upset me because everyone at my table could clearly see there werent any. Nevertheless, I told her I was fine eating it, but She gave me my meal fifty percent off. Thank you. I will go back, but it will be hard to choose which type of chicken to pick.

This is a beautiful restaurant and a place where my my husband brings clients. Unfortunately I ordered their meatloaf, which seemed marked as a specialty of theirs. It was the driest meat I have ever had. They had a tiny spread of sauce on the top of the meat. No veggies and no seasoning. I did try to give it a chance by tunneling out the mode of the meat but it was dry as a bone. I lost my appetite. We went there about 2 weeks ago and I had the red snapper and that was delicious. Our friend had the salmon and it was good. Summation, don t get the meatloaf. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meal and it is a gorgeous place with a fireplace. They did take off the meatloaf since I basically didn t eat and I m not finicky either.

I would give 0. My Mothers 80th birthday. We had about 13 people with a previous reservation. The service was fine at first. Then all but 3 meals came out and the 3 including myself did not get our meals until after everyone else was already finished eating then two of us, including myself, didn t get our sides that we wanted. They brought out different sides. They brought our sides separately after they served us. It was just a terrible experience and I will never go back there again you get one chance and when you screw it up, that s it. It was supposed to be a special occasion obviously because it was my mother s 80th birthday it was just not a good experience and then they charges each 18% gratuity for what? And then my husband gets his prime rib. I get mine afterwards. His is like a half inch mines, like maybe an eighth of an inch thick, both of them were tough they were just awful. I just can t even describe what an awful experience it was. At least my dog got a very expensive treat. So I guess there is that.

We came back to this Stone Werks after several nights of trying this and other restaurants while visiting west San Antonio. The prices are a good value and you get HUGE portions and for nowadays good service and a nice setting. I would suggest sharing plates for non-sandwich menu items like dinner salads and fish and chips as there are few individuals who could eat all of these HUGE orders. My only suggestion is to add calorie counts to the menu. Hope to be back next time I m in San Antonio! Parking: There was plenty of parking at the peak of the main dinner time on Friday and even more at Monday dinner time

If I could give this experience a 0 I would. We get seated at 5:46, happy hour ends at 6, so we plan to order a happy hour app and 2 ciders. We don t get greeted or get asked drink order till 6:08. I ask the guy if he will honor the happy hour since we d been sitting for so long and got there before happy hour ended and he tells us that he can ask but goes ahead and puts the order in anyways. Happy hour is $2 off ciders and $5 off apps. So substantial. Well he tells us the manager said no he won t honor it because we didn t order before 6, despite that not being our fault. Already I m super annoyed. Later he brings my pizza and drops the entire pizza in my lap. I stand up to go wash my hands and pants and come back and the floor is so slick with grease I almost fall. So he brings another pizza and says are you ready for it this time, I don t want another pizza to fall I thought I could have lost it right there. Then I asked for boxes and the check and he brings us someone else s check. So I tell him and he goes and grabs our check and he s charging us for the pizza he dropped AND the pizza he brought as a replacement . I started to get angry and he s like, oh so sorry I ll go fix it never offered a single discount or apology for the terrible service or experience. I m furious to say the least. Truly the worst dining experience I ve ever had.
