Update Review: So ever since I found this place, I ve been coming here at least three times a week and today was the WORST experience by far! I called ahead to place my order only to get here and the guy played like he had no idea what I had ordered and didn t even take the order down until I got here! It wasn t until I asked if he had even taken my order to where he said he hadn t UNACCEPTABLE!!!! If there food wasn t so good, I wouldn t come back! He doesn t need to be working here honestly! Wow is all I can say! I came here after having a taste for a gyro not being totally satisfied by the options near me, so I looked up Greek places near me and this place came up! OMG, WTF have I been?? The Gyro is sooooo freaking good! The Flavor! My only complaint is that the onions aren t purple, but I usually keep onions in the fridge so I just cut up some when I get home! And the fetta fries, OMG! Sooo good. I found out about this place and have already been here 4 times lol. You definitely have you a regular because I could eat a Gyro everyday!

Enjoyed the meal and our server was great! The atmosphere was cozy and overall we had a great experience. However there was an older lady that worked there with brown hair who was very rude. I think she may have been the manager. The place was pretty empty when we went (one other table). We were with our one year old that acts her age. She d squeal and laugh because she s a happy child and the manager made rude comments to us because of it. The place was empty, so it wasn t disrupting anyone. Tell me you re miserable and don t have children without telling me But like I said, our servers and all the servers for that matter were great. Management could learn a thing or two from them about customer service though.

Love me some Greek food! Had recently dined next door at I Love Pho restaurant and saw this Greek Tavern we wanted to try soon. Couple weeks went by and I needed to meet my Italian Friend Vito for business. We were looking for someplace in between Allen Texas and Mesquite. This was about in the middle being in Rowlett. So we met there. Great place, cool vibe. Awesome menu. Tried the Calamari and Garlic Feta Wings appetizers. Cant go wrong with calamari. I ordered a Gyro with feta fries. Vito had a wrap. So many good stuff on the menu but we were so engrossed in talking business that just ordered what was easy. Gyro was a large portion of meat but a bit dry and fries were more the shoestring size. Good but not my fave. Vito liked his wrap. The Greek beer was wonderful. So this was a perfect place to talk and enjoy the food. Will bring the wife here soon. I asked the server how business was and he said slow. That is ashame.. If it Was nearby to us, we would dine regularly. Look online and check out the menu. I am dying to try some of the combination platters. Maybe this weekend?

The actual seating area in the restaurant is kind of small compared to some Greek restaurants I have been to. There is a bar area at the entrance, and then there are options for table of booth. We were waiting for some friends so we ordered something to drink and looked over the menu. The waitress was nice, however, it took a while to get our drinks. Overall, she didnt check on us very much, so that prolonged ordering our food. As an appetizer, we chose the fried zucchini. It was good. I ended up getting the Mahi Mahi. The fish was cooked very good and the flavors went together well. My husband got a wrap with a side roasted potatoes and Greek lima beans. He didnt care for the beans. The potatoes were good. I ended up ordering dessert to go (I should have checked to make sure it was the correct thing), when we got back and later sat down to eat it, I got the wrong dessert so that was upsetting. I find it took way too long to get the attention of the waitress. Another thing that irritated me was the fact that they added a large party gratuity on our bill. It was just 4 people! I dont mind tipping people but that was way more tip for the actual service we received. We went, we tried it, and probably wont go back.

My husband and I had eaten here way before Covid! I was thrilled to see they are still open. We made a reservation for Father s Day online to surprise my husband. I made the reservation for 12:15 right after church. So on the way there my tire pressure gauge thing went off. So we went to get the tires aired up. Mean while I called to see if I could move the reservation up to 12:40. It was not a problem. We were able to arrive on time. The wait staff was amazing. Our party of 6 was seated right away. Opa s had live music, which was a bonus! They had a musician playing a variety genres on guitar. It made the atmosphere very friendly and inviting. We all ordered a variety of meals. All meals arrived in a timely manner. The food was all very fresh and tasty as expected. Thanks Opa s you more than exceeded our expectations. Keep up the good work! Kid-friendliness: Yes it seems like you could take small children there if you are able to stay at the table with them. They do have patio seating if it is nice to sit outside. We had our older children with us when we were there.

1. The bill was close to $150.00 and we were charged 4.00 for substitution with a house salad and not advised that that was going to be done. 2. We asked for galactobouriko, a Greek dessert,and were told that the kitchen was closed-that dessert is never made on the spot but kept in the refrigerator..... 3. One of my pet peeves is to be told that the restaurant is closed and to hurry a customer to leave. My late father had 7 restaurants from Mexican to French and that was never done. He would say if a customer is good enough to invite him in and take his money, you need to wait until he leaves or at least advise them if they come too close to closing time....

Yum, yum, and yum! This place has fantastic Greek food. There are a variety of sampler plates to choose from. It was raining when we went but they have a really nice patio. Be sure to get the dolma. They are lemony bright with minty freshness. They were playing the 80s when we were there. The staff is attentive, and the food is unforgettable. Plan for lots of leftovers and get dessert!

This is a wonderful place. Visited here with some friends. I absolutely love their All You Can Eat Greek salad and Lemon and Rice soup combo. Im sure there are other soups you can select, but I have no interest in trying them!! The Lemon and Rice soup is AMAZING!! Friendly and helpful staff, good is always good, and the restaurant has always had a good vibe and energy to it. If youre debating whether or not to drop in... just go! It seemingly has a nicer atmosphere (I havent been inside yet!) than Yia Yias House of Gyros in Rockwall/Mesquite but food is severely subpar by comparison. Now I also cook a lot of Greek food at home so Im probably more critical than most reviewers, let me fair: it is decent. Its a little bland and lacking depth. I had the great benefit to try a ton of menu items on a gift card and literally everything needed to be seasoned better. The chicken was dry, the tomato sauce hadnt been cooked long enough (tasted like aluminum, when canned tomatoes dont cook long enough thats what you get), and the gyro meat was just meh. I would recommend it for those people who dont really eat a LOT of Greek food and who dont have it homemade, but for me it just missed the mark and I really did try about 6 different menu items in one go.

Our first time eating here and we are looking forward to coming back. We live in The Colony and its worth the drive. The best falafel Ive had in the Dallas area, all the meats were tender, moist and well seasoned. We got the huge sample platter. falafel. Just loved the green beans with tomato sauce. (I think it could feed 3 people maybe 4, the two of us had two boxes of leftovers.) Im not fond of lima beans and they let us substitute them with falafels. We started the meal with the bacon wrapped dates...oh sweet heaven you had me at bacon. Just amazing flavors in your mouth!

Ive been to their sister restaurant over in Rockwall called Onassis and was told that this restaurant also existed. I came here today for the first time and I really loved their atmosphere. Theyre outside patio is very inviting, and theyre inside is a nice cozy modern Greek place. They have some Greek wine as well as American wine, Greek beer and American Beer. They have a number of specialty cocktails as well. I ordered their shrimp Souvlaki which had two skewers full of generous sized shrimp, grilled with lemon butter, plenty of rice, Greek green beans and about 8 of pita triangles. I paired it with their Greek white wine and had plenty to eat. I dont remember hearing any music but the atmosphere was very cozy and quiet. I saw what looked like belly dancing in some of their photos so I would be interested to know if they have a schedule for that. All in all very good meal I wouldnt mind coming back.

Greek food is a cuisine that Im really getting into lately. Ive noticed this place every time I pass through and I finally gotten around to trying, and it is really unique and great! This is the first Greek restaurant (for me to find) salmon on their menu, and it was wonderful! It came with a side plate of rice, green beans, potato wedges and pita, and all together it was a well balanced meal. For my drink, I had the cucumber limeade, and it was refreshingly delicious! For dessert I couldnt have said no, so I went for the Russian Napoleon. It was sweet, yet fulfilling. And for the closing of my meal, I had a Greek coffee and it was excellent!

Awesome little green restaurant in Rowlett that you can count on for fresh ingredients, good service and quick turnaround. It s really easy to eat healthy here, and for someone counting calories or focusing on protein the many varieties of kebabs are a huge bonus. Great food! I almost always get the classic gyro, but I choose a different side each time we go. The fries, roasted potatoes, blistered brocoli and falafel are all excellent. My husband always gets the lamb shank, which is literally fall off the bone tender. Seriously. He just picks the bone up, and is left with a plate of the most tender lamb. Their desserts are amazing. My favorite is the baklava cheesecake, I but theyre all great! Dietary restrictions: We are diabetic, so we often dont eat all the pita. They have brocoli and green beans. As long as youre careful with the carbs, its totally doable. Hubs does fine with the orzo, but Ive not run a test after eating it. Parking: We always park in the back. Theres a breezeway to the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Front door is stiff, I but once you get in, its a concrete floor and they have tables.

Im sure that youll leave satisfied if its Greek food your into, then this place is the place to go! Portion sizes are amazing, plenty of food for the price, packed with mouth watering flavors! Hands down the best Greek food Ive had in awhile! Food taste very authentic and the workers are always kind and helpful with menu suggestions.(For those who just cant quite decide which delicious Entree to eat.)

I paid a good price for my food, ordered hummus and paid extra for it. I picked it up at the restaurant to take home to eat just to find out they didnt put the hummus in my bag, super disappointed and dissatisfied.

Our family loves to go to Opa! for special occasions. The food is delicious, desserts are extraordinary (highly recommend the baklava cheesecake but havent had anything bad there), and servers have always been friendly and attentive. It is a little on the pricey side for our family but is definitely worth it when were celebrating! Parking: We have been there quite a few times abs have never had difficulty finding parking close to the restaurant. There are even several handicap parking spaces directly in front of the entrance.

Gyro was good a lil dry but Taziki sauce made up for it. Do not get the French toast its deep fried and the grease just soaked in. Cherry soda was delicious but very sweet. Tea was delicious.
