First off the chips and salsa, the chips were almost stale although given 2 different salsas. One salsa was ok but the other was bland. Service was slow to come around even though it was slow with only 3 other tables. I ordered the mixed chicken and beef fajitas, 1st impression was not very exciting, no sizzle and the skillet was cold. The chicken was dry and the beef looked and tasted like it was microwaved. Although the food was not the best, the Mexican martini was fire.

We had Milagros as our server and she was terrible. When we ordered she didn t listen and had us repeat it serval times. She never checked on us when we needed stuff, and when she did it was 2 seconds before she was walking away again and disregarding us. At the end we asked for the points to go on a certain account and she wrote it down but didn t even try to put it on it. Before we left she threw mints in front of us and rudely told us to have a good day and rolled her eyes. We had two full boxes of left over food that we accidentally forgot, we called about it as soon as we left and when we arrived to get it 5 minutes later it was thrown away. I won t be back.

Everything was top tear It was date night Friday for us. Delicious food!! very fast our first time here had heard many things about this place! (miracles) took very good care of us! We used to love this place but the last few times we ve come/order take out from here the food has been subpar. For the amount of money spent, it ll undoubtedly be our last time visiting. Chips were stale, salsa was bland, queso was cold, rice & beans have zero flavor. The fajita beef was good but you tell it had been sitting for a bit before getting to the table.

For the Austin area, this is good enough. The chips didnt seem to be made in house from what I could tell unfortunately. The salsa was served warm for no reason? The tacos came filled with meat all the way to the top with a giant pile of lettuce and tomatoes next to it, an impractical mess for no reason. And the enchiladas were just okay. The prices seem high, but ultimately I enjoyed everything, including the items Im complaining about. I can eat warm salsa if I have to and have a good time. The service was great

This place is embarrassingly bad. I just ate the rice and beans because the flautas were inedible. There was so much grease. Queso does not belong inside flautas because it makes them soggy and absorbs the oil. The queso itself had a bland but chemical taste. I couldn t tell there was even meat inside. Charging $18ish for flautas is crazy. They don t even serve chips and salsa. The table was dirty and had some caked on salsa. My husband said his food was cold so it probably sat there while they made my plate. The server was sweet and the food got to us quick pretty quick. The restaurant itself looks nice. There are many other authentic options around that are much cheaper and have actual flavor.

The guy who didn t open the window right away to take my order was extremely rude. I saw him standing behind the tinted window. I saw his shadow/figure. So why he was delaying opening the drive-through-window? Mind you, there was no one behind me. And there was no one in front of me for good 10 minutes. What was he doing standing behind the window and faced to me? I said hey I see you. He still didn t open. I had questions about my food. When he finally opened the door, I looked at my rear view, there was still no car coming behind me. I asked him questions about the menu too. His response was ok ok. I thought he probably didn t understand English. I asked in spanish, again his response was ok. I had questions, I said. He still didn t say anything. I asked him why giving me blank stare and was being rude from the start. I asked him for the manager. He said he is a manager. I told him with that behavior, I doubt he is a manager. And even he was, he still has someone above him. Then he shut the window at me. I was still at the window, and no car was behind me still. I waited for a moment. He was still behind the window. What a disrespectful young staff. I went inside to speak with the manager. It was a sweet lady. She listened and apologized. I was looking at that young guy and asked him why he had to behave that way. He laughed and smirk at me. He didn t apologize and no remorse. Then he was looking his phone. Because of that female manager, I still ordered worth of $65. I wanted that young guy to face the consequences by his upper level manager/owner. I wouldn t want anyone else to be treated that way. It is a nice restaurant and thought the staff should take their pride in their work environment. There was 3-4 waiters stand by. And there was still no car at the window. He just looked at the phone and smirked at me.

I was recommended this restaurant by a family member. Hubby got really bad FOOD POISONING from the dish the server Francisco recommended (fried chicken with olives and a lemon sauce). I had the chicken fajitas they were not appetizing and our rice was cold. The server was friendly but didnt check on us and they were not busy. Had a hard time getting the check. No refills the entire time for our drinks.

I have been here more than a handful of times and order out quite often, the food is always very good and the atmosphere is nice, I am writing this review because my daughters 18th birthday was this week and this is where she wanted to go, called several days ahead of time and made a reservation for a party of 8. We had family and friends coming from other cities to meet us here to celebrate. We arrived and the parking lot was empty and a sign on the door stated closed until further notice . I am not sure why they were closed or if they got shut down for some reason (hoping not the heath department) but it would ve been a great gesture to call the customers that have reservations!!! By this time we had a hard time finding a place to service us all that wasn t closing within an hour. Very disappointed.

Updated Review 5/23/24 We had beef enchiladas and a crispy taco. The salsa was exceptionally tasty and spicy. Tried the queso and it was a winner too. We really like this place. They take great care of their customers. Previous Review: Generous portions on the fajita lunch special. The beef fajitas could use more flavor. Pico de Gallo was excellent. Fresh avocado. Charro beans and rice were good. The salsa was reminiscent of chili powder, chips were good. Everyone was very friendly and the service was excellent.

The food was very good. However, the service was some of the worst we have experienced in a long time. Our waiter, Antonio, was not friendly and maybe spoke a few words to us the entire time. After we had our drink order and food brought to us, the service ended. He never once came back to ask if our food was okay or if we needed anything. We had to flag him down to get drink refills every time and we felt by his body language that we were bothering him. When we were finished we could not find him to ask for our bill. We had to ask a different server if we could get our bill. When he finally brought us our bill, I told him we had been waiting for awhile, but he never apologized. He just handed us our bill and walked off. It was not busy, so I am not sure if he was having a bad day, but hopefully he will treat other customers better.

Antonio served us today with an attitude. He dropped off our food and we didnt see him anymore. I was incredibly excited to try this restaurant. I came in and the host just starred at me and my guests as if we were suppose to seat and wait ourselves. We came in on May 10th during Karaoke. We enjoyed ourselves up until the food. My guest had birria tacos and I had sizzling fajitas. It tasted horrible. Her food as drenched In oil. My tacos tasted like chemicals. We went home after paying in complete disgust. I got home and both me and my guest became extremely ill. We thought it may have been from something else mind you, we didn t eat all day this was the first thing we ate. Hours went by and both me and my guest had food poisoning and ended up in the hospital due to the food we consumed. I called the restaurant several times. No one picked up.I hate to do this to a small business however do not recommend eating here. The service was below average and the food poising that I m still having issues internally from have caused me to be in utter disbelief. We re unable to eat regular meals, or at all, we can t keep any other food down, we don t have an appetite for anything and since no one reached out after trying to get in contact with someone, I had to result to this. You can refund us our money back however, it will never recover the illness we contracted from this. I will not be coming back and I d encourage you all not to do the same.

Tequila Bar and Grill in Round Rock is hands down one of the best hidden gems in RR we have ever been to in the area. We were greeted with friendly smiles and a warm atmosphere. The decor is vibrant and inviting, making you feel like youve been transported to a lively cantina in Mexico. But the real star of the show is the food. The menu is filled with authentic Mexican dishes that are bursting with flavor. I tried the Jalisco breakfast from the brunch menu and it was absolutely delicious. My wife had the fajitas for one with frijoles charros, rice and corn tortillas. The meat on both was perfectly seasoned and cooked as if they had an abuelita in the kitchen. Overall, Tequila Bar and Grill is a must-visit for anyone visiting the Round Rock Texas area who loves Mexican food. The atmosphere, the food, and the drinks all come together to create an unforgettable dining experience. We will definitely be coming back again when we visit family in Texas.

So today sadly we thought we go try this place again because it had been awhile and last time went was good and no issues. We went with a big group. Our waitress didnt know English so when ordering she kept asking us over again, try to get a helper but they were no better. We probably should have left. We had an 11 person group, tried making reservations ahead of time, but were told they do not do them. We still went, expecting an issue, but they got some tables together and we were sat at our spot very quickly.. On a Friday night! The food was absolutely fantastic, and service was on point. Really, the only issue we had was that one member of our party was served a warm beer, and the next one was nice and cold. Now, the main reason we went, a friend who loves margaritas was having a birthday and they did not disappoint!

This place was great so it saddens me to write this. We visited This location last night. I had every intention of tipping. However our server Antonio was rude, rushed us & forgot to place my drink order twice. Our first round was watered down. We get it was busy and the machine can be faulty next go round he forgot the drink completely. Our bill was 103 & when it cleared in my bank today $10 was added. After I specifically clicked don t tip. Upon calling the restaurant they suddenly have no record of my card but it shows on my bank statement. The server manipulated the system & gave himself a tip. It seemed like no real consequence will be given. Tread lightly with your cards & I d advise to use cash. I tip based on service! But his behavior and attitude will not be tolerated.

Five stars all the way for Taquilla Bar and Grill. Same great people are always there to serve up great food and drinks. Jenny, Luis, Gloria and Diana always take the best care of us when we come in. Try anything on the menu, you can t go wrong. Top it off with a frozen margarita (best in town) and you will keep coming back.

Luis Castillo, ask for this guy to help you. He s big and charming, attentive, and knows his food and looks like he knows what he s talking about when he s not lifting weights. We went with his 1st recommendation and I m both uncomfortably full and very satisfied with my meal and service. Luis made us feel like we were in a 5 star restaurant that Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark would own. Thank you for everything Luis Castillo. Kid-friendliness: Would definitely bring my kids here.

Luis is my absolute favorite! He picked out our amazing meal for us! He got our food to us so fast! It was so much more food than we expected and we couldn t finish it all! Great personality and very professional! We will be back a lot and hope we have him as our waiter again! Phenomenal experience! This place used to be one of my favs! We would go weekly. But lately it seems like the quality has slipped. Drinks are almost never right, food is either cold or overcooked and the service is not nearly what it used to be. The last 3 times we have been the decline seems to get worse. Hopefully they can figure it out soon.

Horrible service, went out tonight for my birthday and aunts birthday. We ended up not even ordering food, our server Jenny was rude and unapologetic even after we expressed we weren t getting great service not sure we ll be coming back. Walked in here at 3pm. There was maybe 5 tables in the entire place and about 8 staff members. Waited at our table for 25 minutes before someone even offered us drinks. We then waited another 20 minutes for someone to take our order but no luck. There was about 5 servers including our standing by the front door laughing and joking the whole time. Decided to leave after an hour of waited and no order placed.

The times I have been, its always an issue to sit. Went w a bigger party and set no reservations because when I called to place a reservation for 16 I was told I could not, that I would have to come in and be seated. I did just that just to be told I needed reservations. Needless to say. Go to Casa Garcias or Mas Fajitas before eating here.

Service was good and good too, the only thing is I was surprised at enchiladas I asked for, they were good if I would of asked for nachos - or cheese enchiladas but no, my impression of what I ordered I thought would be normal ( Mexican style enchiladas with queso fresco ( fresh cheese) on top- but no, the cheese used is cheddar type like for nachos or queso and chips- I guess I ve been looking for Mexican restaurants that actually carry our regular red Mexican style enchiladas- but no luck yet. And I m not trying to put them down or in this case their enchiladas with queso - they re good for those who love queso, I guess I just have to get used of some Tex Mex wording - and food style. Maybe should be called enquesadas or something like that - don t take me wrong - good food - my partner ordered fajitas and they were amazing - It s a good place, good staff, I just have to really ask how it s prepared, after all we are in Texas. ( TexMex restaurant )

I come here twice a week for breakfast tacos. Migas add bacon, with the ranchero for the win. I brought my wife and 5 kids for breakfast and they all really liked it as well. I also have to say it is a great value too, especially pancakes for the kids. Everywhere else it would be 3x the price.

I love this place. My eldest daughter introduced me to it on the way back from a hospital visit. She encouraged me to try the taco salad with shrimp. Now I dont see any reason to really order anything else, but Ill eventually insist on spreading my wings. Great healthy meal. Large portion makes 2-3 servings for me. Prices are very competitive. Service is friendly, helpfu,l and timely. I have been here several times and have never had anything less than a great meal, and a great environment, with great servers.

Time for an update. The latest scam here is the use of the pay terminal they hand you through the window and where the drive-thru cashier pre-selects a 20% tip to try to fleece customers for 2-3 minutes of work. Completely ridiculous. Im sure that the restaurant is trying to jump on the Ill pay employees less by fooling customers into paying more via tips bandwagon. The food is still mediocre at best (the only decent thing here are the breakfast tacos). If you are going to both jack up your prices AND fleece your customers with overly high tips then you should hire a real chef who knows how to prepare food properly. Old review: Overpriced, food portions decreasing and service is slow at best. Be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes or more in the drive thru. The experience here has been going downhill quite a bit. Its very difficult to get your order the way you want it (regularily made wrong) and the quantities... 2 enchiladas for 10 dollars and each are about the size of a rolled store bought taquito. I will likely be visiting Mesa Rosa in the future where the value is significantly better and the food isnt slathered in queso like it is here.

Just brought breakfast home. We ordered the Super breakfast. Everything in it was old. My eggs were watery, I couldn t cut my biscuit in half (it was as hard as a rock), pancakes were old but palatable and the hash brown tasted like old grease (also not fresh). My husband s chorizo breakfast burrito was a 6 out of 10 and tasted freshly made. The service was great, through the drive-through, and the wait was very short. I think that s related the food already being made though. I won t be returning.
