Basic fee for Federal and out of state tax return was $600. Upon review of the completed form, asked three simple questions via email. Also questioned why some of the detail provided did not appear to be properly displayed. Charged an additional $150 to display the detail and $300 to respond to our email. When approached about the email cost, Marcia said she had to help other clients and left the room. The agreement we signed does explain that if we present additional information, that additional fees will apply, which makes sense. If you come in at the last minute with detailed medical expense or charitable contributions, there should be an additional charge. We had provided all of the information at the outset. The grade on this review is secondary to her fees and professional approach. It is not a statement on her technical expertise. Paying $1,050 for our tax returns when we had previously paid no more than $400 was disappointing. Have now seen a posting from Marcia that I was not eligible for hire because of my previous comments. I did not apply to become an employee or a client. So I do not know where this came from. I never challenged your professional expertise in completing returns. I had no evidence to do so. But I did get a new tax preparer in your area. Please do not misinterpret my salute as I drive by.

She took $300 to help me with my business needs. She said all of what she would do. She did nothing. I contacted her several times and she sent me a registered agent form that I had already ended up finding myself and submitting before she had responded. Claimed that is what cost $300.

Marcia is very friendly and loves to talk, and she told me all about her family, family antiques, her RV loving friend, etc at our mandatory introductory $200 meeting to drop off the tax planner I filled out. I dont own a business. It cost over $1000+ to do my taxes. Every brief phone call and text is charged. I found another CPA who looked over my documents and 2022 return that Marcia did and said it was very basic. My new CPA said she could do my 2023 taxes for around $275. I learned a lot.

Not competent at all. Asked for payment upfront and lied every step of the way about progress. She said less than 6 months to complete and it took over two years to find out that she didn t know what the hell she was doing. She didn t complete anything. Horrible communication and dishonest You ve been warned. STAY AWAY!!!

She did not disclose her price, 400 more than I paid last year, and when we denied the amount she stole $150 using my credit card that I did not authorize her to use. DO NOT USE HER, she will try to rob you.

Beware of this CPA - she is not knowledgeable in all areas and will not tell you until its too late. She forced me to pay for 2018 tax return CPA fee before she would give to me the return and when she gave the return on 10/15/2019, it was incorrect & had to employe another CPA to correct and pay additional late fees and another CPA fee. She refused to return any of the fee I had paid her. And of course, the fee had to be immediate transfer via Zelle without any recourse.

Marcia went above and beyond for my family and I. I was supposed to be receiving refund on an amendment. She filed this on a timely manner and got kick-back stating that they did not receive it on time. She then went out of her way to make sure I got my refund. From this experience, I would not use any other CPA other than Marcia Van Norman.

I am highly recommending Marcia Van Norman, CPA for her knowledge, assistance, candor and efficiency. I had filed my sole proprietor tax returns for 4 years with the initiation of my business. I felt confident that I would not have any difficulties and would not receive any issues from the IRS. To my surprise and dismay I did receive an audit on my 2015 tax returns. I tried to take care of this myself by sending a rebuttal to the IRS, however their return letter was worse than the first notice. This left me owing a lot of money in taxes and penalties. I am highly recommending Marcia Van Norman, CPA, for her knowledge, professionalism, candor, and patience while she was assisting me with my taxes. I had completed and filed federal taxes independently as sole proprietor since 2015.I felt confidant that the information I sent to the IRS was accurate and complete. I had no apprehension that I would have any difficulties with my tax return for 2015. In late 2017 I received a letter from the IRS regarding my 2015 return. I tried to resolve this by myself, but it was terribly stressful and frustrating to deal with the IRS directly. I knew I needed professional help. I have known Marcia for years & she has done my tax preparations for the past 20+ years. Not only is she a great friend, but she definitely is a great CPA. I have never had a problem with any of my returns & will continue to use her as my personal CPA. I highly recommend Marcia, she definitely knows her business. Marcia is very thorough with organizing & handling tax situations. I have had some tough issues concerning returns, that I surely couldnt have figured out, but Marcia has always had the answers for me & got all the complications figured out.
