We re told this place has been around since 2009 and we re just finding the hidden gem! What a beautiful old home that s been fixed up to be a stunning restaurant. The exterior screams wine garden with live music and custom furniture. The inside has a rustic barn house mixed with industrial elements. We dinned at the bar, and the service was top notch. They have a rotating selection of local beers on tap, ranging from craft IPAs to local ciders. The food was just amazing too. The firewood smoked oven gave our meal the best touch of flavor. We can t wait to come back and bring some family. We ordered the pork sushi roll and the smothered chicken. We highly recommend both! Place closes at 10! So be sure to arrive before 9:15 before the kitchen closes.

Bin 303 is run by husband and wife team, Mat and Breean Nugent who share their love of wine and excellent Texas cuisine with anyone who finds their way through the doors of this historic location. The staff was friendly, very helpful and incredibly knowledgeable of the menu. The food was very good and definitely highlighted the Go Texan attitude in food form.

Nice place to eat but party of 7 you will have a 20% gratuity put on each ticket. I made reservations spoke to a person over the phone and ask will we be allowed to put our own tip, she stated yes but after the tickets was bought out they put 20% on each ticket. My grandbaby was my 7th person. I am ok with gratuity but 20% and was told I could give my own. I stopped by the bank to give cash to my server who was named Ryan very great and attentive. Dietary restrictions: I am allergic to pork told my server but maybe something got crossed contaminated I was sick before I got home. Other than that I truly enjoyed my the Hummus.

This place is all about the highs and lows. It smells weird when you walk in. Part wet wood and mothballs is the only way I can describe it. Our table was in a side room. It was stuffy and quiet, not even any elevator music. The only ambiance was the sound of other people chewing. We ordered calamari. 90 seconds later, voila! It hit the table cold and with the batter not fully cooked. My husbands medium ribeye came beautifully cooked. However, the medium rare filet I ordered came out well done. Like not a hint of pink well done. The server had that bared-teeth fake smile when she came to check on us and saw my plate pushed to the side. I wasnt mad. I was happily eating my hubs excellent ribeye. However, an erroneous cook temp on a $68 dollar steak should be addressed, but hearing honest complaints wasnt in her wheelhouse I guess. The drinks were amazing! The Berry Mule is a must. The key lime pie was one of the best Ive ever tasted. I did get a scare when I went to the restroom and there was a server catching a little quiet time in the stall. I thought it was a ghost for just a tiny bit. We both had a good laugh! We wont be back. Once was enough.

Food was delicious. Location is fun, clean, and well appointed. Beware, very expensive. Last year this outing would have been $125, now with tip $250. The food, albeit and service is truly great, way way way above... We had 2 cocktails (one blantons bourbob, one lemmondrop martini), split one lettuce wedge salad (more than enough for two), and added one twice baked potato in the skin, a 10oz. New York strip entree , a specialty pork loin medly dish entree, just water to drink and no dessert. Yet as I said, Id highly recommend for a special occasion. To be fair, if my wife and I had just had water to drink, split a salad as we did, both ordered the standard fair 10oz. New York Strip each with included side, the Bill with tip would have been $110ish. As it was we had enough food with leftovers for another meal each the next day, yummy!

I used to visit this restaurant quite often. Stopped in last night had a 10 ounce New York strip. It was disgusting bad quality meat. It was like eating a tire. It was pre-sliced dried out had some type of bougie glaze, but really no seasoning on the steak. I also had their skillet corn how do you mess up corn? It was either overcooked or left setting out. fortunately, I was by myself with Tip. It was only $72 out the door. I only ate maybe two bites. It was so disgusting. I had to leave and go to another restaurant. extremely dissatisfied

We had lunch on a Friday and everything was excellent except for limited close parking...buts its worth the walk no matter how far. The food was excellent and we were served unbelievably fast. Menu items were unique and well thought out. Presentation was nice. Service was very good and our waiter was attentive but not bothersome. Our room was a little noisy (happy people in pleasant conversations)and could use a few more sound absorbing items in the ceiling or on the walls. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will return. Clearly, management is excellent and care about the whole experience.

Bin 303 is probably the best restaurant in Rockwall Downtown area currently. The food is great. Service is great. Steaks are solid. Its a little pricey, approaching Dallas prices for a non-Dallas restaurant, but like I said it is probably the best restaurant in Rockwall today. That wasnt always the case, pre-Covid I thought it was overpriced and generally worse than the better priced competitor down the street Zanata. Now it is clearly better than Zanata. Been dozens of times.

Tried Bin 303 again, after a few bad experiences. My husband and I both got burgers: I order the Bacon Cheddar Burger and he ordered the Texican. My burger was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic, but it was served dry...so I had to ask for mustard/mayo to dress the burger. I also ordered their Truffle fries, which were also quite tasty, but they came out nearly cold. My husbands burger came out, as ordered, and was perfectly cooked. Neither of our burgers came out hot. Perhaps they were sitting too long before they were delivered to our table. No idea. Our server, Madelaine (sp?), was attentive and friendly. Kept our glasses topped off and checked on our table often. She was the best part of our dinner experience. The food was OK, but not stellar, for the price. The atmosphere was good; I actually love the thick curtains, wood floors, and the vintage vibe. Not sure if we will be back there, just because we have high expectations for the prices they charge...

This was our first time visiting this eatery. My wife and I chose our meals from the menu and placed our orders. My wife ordered salmon, and I chose a Texican burger. Ive never seen a small plate of grilled salmon and a small salad cost $34.00. Ridiculous. The menu available on-line is vastly different from what you are given. The printed menu has significantly higher prices. We believe that is a trap to entice you and then stick to you.

Ive made several attempts at reservations and finally got a reservation. Maybe because of the difficulty of getting a reservation I had high expectations. My wife ordered a carbonara pasta that was very dry, almost no sauce and the chicken I believe is a rotisserie chicken which didnt bode well with the other flavors in the pasta. We ordered two appetizers, garlic cheese bread and goat cheese. And three sides, cream of corn, brussel sprouts and cauliflower. The cream of corn was really good and I would recommend it, but all the others were pretty bland. I had a burger which was cooked perfectly but over salted. I want to point out that I love salt. Im the type of person that when I was a kid and ate at McDonalds I would add salt to the fries. I love salt but thats all I got with the burger. The fries with my burger were your typical frozen french fry as well, rather than a hand cut fresh fry. The service was excellent our waiter was very attentive and I loved the atmosphere. Its a very cool vibe you get and I love the comfortable welcoming feeling you get. Everything was great except the food, which was a major bummer I was really hoping to have a new restaurant on our list.

We appreciate the staffs care to make experiences go so well. The restaurants environment is very intimate, cozy, and romantic. My favorite place to sit is near the kitchen; you can watch the chefs put all their love into their cooking. Our favorite appetizer is the Iron Skillet Crab Dip and shrimp rolls. My favorite side dish is the shaved brussels sprouts. It has bacon and corn! I could eat it all day, every day. They make excellent mac and cheese with crab, shrimp, and bacon. Their asparagus is good as well. I always go for their steaks decked out Oscar style with crab and a yummy sauce. My favorite desserts are the Cream Brulee and the Key Lime Cheesecake. They also offer Chef recommendations, and Ive been happy with those. Ive walked in twice with no wait and felt extremely lucky.

I have had to edit my review from a few years ago. What a shame. This place has really changed. The greeters tonight couldnt be bothered to wait a moment and listen. We entered the restaurant and were early for a reservation. The greeter said our table was ready but we said we might sit at the bar for a cocktail, unless we could maybe order cocktails at the table. She literally didnt answer and walked away. So we sat at the bar. No problem. The fact that she didnt listen and sat down with her phone.... Ok. Were still out to have a nice time. The menu. I ordered an entree- Gulf shrimp with crab Mac and cheese, corn, red bell pepper. I thought it would come out on a plate. It came all mixed together in what I would call a side dish. Quite bizarre for an entree. It was literally in a serving dish. It was very tasty but I thought the shrimp, the crab mac and cheese and the corn were all going to be separate on a plate. Nowhere on the menu did it indicate that this was all jumbled up together in a small dish. I never spotted any corn. It was tasty, but not what I would call an entree. For $24 it was literally a side dish. Dont call a side dish an entree if youre not going to present it as an entree. There were no wine menus available until we asked for it, we were given a drink menu but really wanted a bottle of wine. The wine selection on the drinks menu was very poor. By the time we got the wine menu it was really too late to order a bottle as our food was already at the table. The service was mediocre at the table. Nothing to write home about. We wont be returning. Bin 303 is not for us anymore. It used to be a place we would celebrate with friends and family. Used to be somewhere we enjoyed both the food and the service. Another one bites the dust

**A Delightful Dining Experience at Bin 303** Walking into Bin 303, I was greeted by a pleasantly quiet and dim setting, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Its the kind of place that makes you feel at ease the moment you step in. The service here deserves a special mention. My server, Logan, was excellent attentive and well-informed, she answered all my questions with ease, adding to the overall positive experience. As for the food, it was impressive. I had the smothered chicken with Cajun sauce, which was a standout dish. The chicken was cooked perfectly tender and juicy. The Cajun sauce added a great flavor without being too spicy, just the right touch to enhance the dish. This was my first visit to Bin 303. The meal was enjoyable from start to finish, making Bin 303 a restaurant Ill definitely return to.

BIN 303 has very good food. I have been here at least 30 times over the last 4 years, though if you go to the bar area, there is typically only one server working that area (@7PM .weekend) and if you sit anywhere in the bar area, they will not offer a drink until they are 100% completed with the many continuous drink orders being requested from the waiters in the restaurant area. Last time I was here I sat at the bar to place a take out order and had to wait for exactly 17 mixed drinks before I could order a draft beer and place my food order. Is that cool? This was the first time I left less than a 25% tip. Please do not take 17 drinks from the restaurant to pour a single beer for someone ordering take-out food from the bar. Update: as of August 2022, two of the main bartenders are gone, one of which was one of the issues that caused customers coming in to not get attention or being offered as drink for ~ 10 minutes. New more attentive bartenders are now on staff. So I think this is a large improvement for certain. I have raised my review from 3 to now 4 stars. Update as of October 2022: They still have zero local craft beers on tap, so the owner might not realize that craft beers are no longer a fad, but here to stay in both TX and the rest of the country. The same 6 beers are on tap with all of them at 5% ABV or less. High end craft beers are a void that should be filled if the BIN wants to compete. I dont want wine and mixed drinks all the time. With certain food selections a craft beer is more appropriate for many. Update as of January 2024: Unfortuamtely the Tuscan Salad is not offered at this time. Thats a shame because it was their best salad and now 2 of the 4 salads they offer are the iceberg lettuce salads that most people that are traveled/educated would never order. It wasnt until I traveled to Chicago, San Francisco, NYC, Miami, and New Orleans after undergrad that I realized no fine dining restaurants offer iceberg lettuce - mainly because it it tasteless, very cheap in price from suppliers and most importantly, has zero nutrition value and no fiber. Dark green salads are the good stuff and icebeg lettuce should simply stay with the fast food crowd. Please.brimg back the Tuscan Salad.

My wife and I tried Bin 303 on a Saturday night. We did have reservations but found an open table for 2 by the window at the front. Our server was very prompt to speak with us. Logan was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave a great recommendation for the shrimp and grits. I obliged. Fantastic flavor and creaminess. Delicious. My wife chose to have the 8 oz filet. Also phenomenal. It was nice to find a place with great food in such a short notice. Will deff be back and recommend this place to other foodies in the area.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING the food is 5-STAR!!!! Hidden gem in Rockwall come from near and far to patronage this restaurant. Randy was terrific he was very attentive and provided great suggestions. EVERYTHING was absolutely fresh and was seasoned to perfection. Everyone in the restaurant was so very nice and welcoming. We will return again and again and again. So happy to have found this gem today. Randy even asked if we were military and provided a military discount and thanked us for our service. Again thank you so very much! -Torrey

loved the restaurant the wait staff was exceptional especially our server Henry he was very cordial and helpful and allowed our party to move to a different table since we were right under the air vent and it was cold. The food was my favorite part i had the smoked chicken pasta and i could taste how fresh all the ingredients were and i really enjoyed it! my sister had the 8oz steak and the twice baked potato and the mac&cheese and she really enjoyed every part! i would say the atmosphere inside is somewhat geared toward the older generations as there were a lot of older couples in the restaurant but we were there on a sunday night so that might be why. still a great experience and i would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a casual but high quality dinner. :)

A nice little steakhouse with a classic selection of Texas standard fare done well, along with huge portions. My only complaint was that it was so very loud that I could not hear my dinner companions. Has a lovely bar with several signature cocktails & would be a great neighborhood hangout. I liked the outdoor seating much better. Vegetarian options: Every single salad or item I would order had bacon on it. Pescatarian options are plentiful.

Beautiful mom and pop owned restaurant here in the heart of Rockwall! We were very impressed by our food, and the service here! The bacon cheese burger was phenomenal! Very juicy, and flavorful (cooked to medium). The restaurant used to be a home! It was a home you ordered off the Sears catalogue. We were very impressed by the love poured back into the place. Perfect ambiance for a romantic night!

A friend told us about this place, so we decided to check it out. They take reservations but also allow for walk-ins. The main dining room is for reservations. They also have bar area seating without reservations. The staff is great and so is the atmosphere.. very comfortable. The food is excellent. Youve got to try this place. You will not be disappointed. Kid-friendliness: Im not sure about kids as I did not see any there.

This place was wonderful. We decided to try it out after seeing it on Daytrippers. The location is well laid out and deceptively spacious. The arrangement of having tables in different rooms in the house also means that there are only a few tables in the room with us, helping the space to not be overly loud even though the restaurant was full. There is also a nice looking outdoor patio that Im sure would be lovely when it isnt crazy hot outside. Food was wonderful. We had delicious cocktails and an amazing baked goat cheese spread to start off the night. My wife and I had two different burgers and loved them. My in-laws had the red fish and they said they enjoyed that as well. Service was quick, helpful, and very friendly. Not a single company at all there. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for either special occasions or slightly fancier casual dining. You can easily spend a lot of money on the entrees, but if you stick to burgers and sandwiches, you can also eat here frugally.

Great spot! A little pricey but food is worth it. Cool atmosphere, old house converter into a restaurant. I would highly recommend getting a reservation or expect a 45min wait. The bar/lounge area is first come first serve and a cool area. Cool outdoor lounge area as well. Great customer service which is rare nowadays!! Parking: Small parking lot that can get full. There are other street spots or public parking close by.

Adding to my original review: Never heard from the restaurant. Check out Zanata instead for great service and incredible food downtown! They even remember you when you come back. Locally, we also love Giovannis and Sear in the Harbor- great food and service as well. And we bring our toddler to all of those places without incident. Zanata even has a kids plate! I gave a poor review to a different restaurant back home in the past about atrocious service and the owner reached out to us within the day, profusely apologized, and asked us to come back and he would pay for everything. We politely declined letting him pay for our meal, but we did go back, and he made sure we got taken care of. The point is, these businesses see these reviews, and they have to make an active decision not to address them. I would be mortified as a business owner to know that my employees represented my business this way. Since then, we have learned that Bin 303 is a bit of a well-known snoot-fest. Had we known that on principal alone, we would not have attempted to go. We prefer to support businesses that are owned and operated by kind, down-to-earth people who deserve our support. I would skip Bin 303 and go to Dallas if you want to do the less-than-humble restaurant thing. Original review below: I called to see how long the wait was for a table of 3. They said no wait. We walk in the door not even 10 minutes later with our child to a hostess and a gentleman who whispers in her ear with a disgusted look on his face, and makes off as quickly as possible. Hostess immediately says oh, sorry, there is a 1 hour wait. *feigns a nose-wrinkled, fake, condescending Im so sorry (but not) face. Guess they dont serve families with kids? Or was it some other snap judgment about us? No one was waiting and when she saw us look at three empty tables in the bar area she offered us to have drinks and appetizers there as an after thought. Funny with a 1 hour wait there is an empty parking lot, no one sitting outside, no one waiting in line, and there are still empty bar tables. We wont be going back and make sure we will not recommend this place to anyone. Thats unacceptable.

Food was good. It wasn t an intimate setting as there was a table of 10 behind us that were very loud. The room we were in the floor you could feel every movement which made it comfortable as you ate. The floor was old and unstable. Which is understandable as to the history of the building but it was very uncomfortable and I felt like I had to brace myself each time the staff walked quickly in and around the room. The waitress dropped a container of ketchup on one of our plates and it splattered on me and she didn t even apologize or acknowledge it. Though it wasn t a lot it was the point that I was finding it on my clothing after leaving. She also seemed annoyed that she had to wait for our order as we were waiting for my daughter to arrive. The special was good. The key lime was good but I felt the cheesecake was dry. I was a little upset because my drink wasn t done and the bus-boy just took it off the table and didn t ask. Just because it s in a certain location never assume always ask if a customer is done. I felt rushed to leave when we were done and found it difficult to spend time talking. Very unfortunate as it was a celebration dinner for my birthday that my daughter took me to.

A quaint, quiet spot that allows a dining experience instead of an eating experience. The menu choices are unique and the dishes we chose were delicious. Our server (Ethan) was very knowledgeable about menu item and the local sourcing of the food and decor. He was especially helpful in pointing out a potential (tree nut) allergy danger in a dish in which I was interested. We highly recommend and will return often.
