Their food TexMex food is mediocre at best and bland. The cheese they use is from a can for chips and salsa because its not fresh. Drinks are good but not to brag about and reasonable in price. Customer service is really good and they are very attentive from the time you walk in the door. I moved to Greatwood in May of last year. Since then, Ive toured my fair share of food in my community! If I had a top 3 neighborhood restaurant, Cristobal would be the clear winner at the top spot standing proudly above the rest. The Birria is on point, that Ribeye is to die for, they make killer drinks, and their people are warm and welcoming! Ive never had a bad experience there, which is more than I can say for most places around here. Ive watched the behaviors of these places during the worst economy of my lifetime. While most restaurants started being chintzy and cutting portions, I noticed the portions at Cristobal got larger! Have you ever heard the adage, Actions speak louder than words? Instead of giving your money to Chipotle for a burrito full of rice and beans, give back to your community and go give it to these people! You wont regret it.

I have had so many negative experiences with high end restaurants over the last year and I just want to take a minute to compliment this small business. They are so gracious. So accommodating. So helpful and kind. They have no issue splitting checks and I set up a going away party here and they helped me decorate the table, gladly offered to store the cake, and brought plates and whatnot for the cake. Small business is having a tough time in this economy and this one deserves praise! Really great happy hour prices 12pm to 6pm with $5 food and $3.50 margaritas. Tex Mex food but I m pleased. Support them if you re local!

Weve used Cristobal twice for big parties and they are phenomenal! Junior worked with us to figure out how much food we would need and gave a very fair price. They delivered everything, set it all up in chafing dishes (which we returned the following day) and I literally didnt have to touch a thing. They brought serving spoons/tongs, etc...Everything was all set to go! The food was delicious and everyone was asking who catered the event. It was so nice not to have to worry about cooking, setting up, etc...it really allowed me to enjoy the celebrations and spend time with our guests. I highly recommend Cristobal - the food is great and the service is amazing as well. Give them a try and see what I mean! Thank you Junior and staff for another successful event!

We eat here about once a week. Good food its terrific, parking never a problem, friendly attentative wait staff. We had them cater last Christmas was great. It never disappoints. Parking: Friday night 630ish gets a little crowded but still no problem on parking. Kid-friendliness: We dont have young kids but see them inside often they are having fun.

The food was good,and the place had an authentic feel, but mostly impressed by the wait staff. We had 2 waiters for a party of 30. One remembered everyones order. There was no calling out the food & putting it in front of the person. He remembered & quietly placed it before us, as we had some activities going on in their party room. The other one kept chips coming & drinks fill. No one had to remind them of anything Party room more for 20-25 peeps, but they made it work

We are fans of real Mexican food. This one claimed to be that. I had tacos de barbecoa and my husband had enchiladas. My charro beans were outstanding. Perfectly cooked with bacon, seasoned just right. My barbecoa was ok but not as tasty as it should have been. The rice was nicely seasoned but just a little underdone. The enchiladas were pure tex mex, with little flavor and too much cheese. The service was outstanding, although we were also the only customers at the time.

We stopped here late in the evening, wanting some thing on the light side. We ended up with the beef quesadilla to share, the complimentary chips, and a margarita. It was absolutely delicious... the best Ive ever had. Plus the two salsas had me eating way too many chips. We were so delighted with both the food and the service. The food was not the warmed up, same tasting like some other Mexican restaurants. It was delightfully unique and extremely tasty. The entire atmosphere was so friendly. We loved it.

I ve been to Cristobal twice and this neighborhood eatery has a lot going for it. Mexican beer choices are great and the range of unique mixed drinks is awesome. I ve also found the pours on the drinks to be very generous. Food is excellent last time we had the fried cheese with chorizo sauces and grilled pepper wow, this is such a great tasting and unique appetizer! I had the tacos Al pastor and the Central American plates both time I ve been . The food is full o flat flavor and there is plenty to satisfy you! Three servers with a total of 5 tables and a couple of people at the bar and they still couldnt cut it. Never bussed the table. We had a pile of plates all over. They take forever to bring out the food, too. Like over half an hour for items that literally take 10-15 minutes in a regular restaurant setting. Had to get up to get the check ourselves even after flagging them down for to go plates. The food is good, but the service ruins it and weve been twice with the same outcome. I guess if you want a VERY leisurely meal and dont mind the mess on your table or lack of service, its ok. Hence the 2 stars.

It was such a delight to finally find a Mexican restaurant that was not only the food incredibly delicious but the presentation was exquisite. Chips were warm and delicious, salsa was packed with flavor and just the right amount of spicy. Plenty of menu options for any palette or craving. Went during one of the weekend for lunch. There were no other customers beside us until later on. The staffs are friendly and serve fresh chips and salsa while we waited for our food. Al Pastor tacos are everywhere and that would make you think if you tasted one, you tasted them all. I asked Junior to recommend a dish off the menu and he referred to that plate. We were craving Mexican and because of the ratings we thought we would give this place a try. I had the El Tejano combination which consisted of a crispy beef taco, a cheese enchilada, and a chili con queso puft. It was accompanied by rice and beans and guacamole. My husband had an authentic dish they recommended called Chilorio which was shredded pork served with avocado and pico de gallo. All the food was amazing including their chips and salsa! Ordered a chicken quesadilla and the chicken ended up smelling rotten noticed it as I was eating it. They did offer to get me something else to eat but after that I wasnt about to eat anything in this place. Only reason for two stars is the service was good. They ended up charging me for the rotten meat anyway LOL will not be going back to this place

For a mexican restaurant in the neighborhood Cristobal is solid. Their salsa is 10 times better than the spicy tomato sauce that El V serves. Their queso and margaritas are good. I enjoy their fajitas and have been presently surprised w/ their specials.

Been here several times, the number 1 margarita is the best! All of the food and salsas are DELICIOUS and fresh, oh and the FLAN! Definitely beats chain Mexican resturaunts and is our favorite place to go. The service and food is top notch! Great family recipes. Have had nearly everything on the menu, Don t change a thing Cristobal.

This was the blandest Mexican food I have ever had. Not only was the food extremely bland, but the meat was chewy and the Mexican rice was cold and hard. I m not sure how this place got such good reviews, but don t believe the hype. It was not good. At all.

Absolute best Mexican food in Houston, in my opinion. Generous portions, very reasonable pricing, great staff. I cannot say enough about their delicious food. From what I could tell, they have authentic Mexican dishes along with TexMex and seafood. I had the taco meal which included cilantro & lime (my favorite) plus they had awesome tortillas. The warm chips, salsa, and queso were phenomenal and not too greasy! Actually, none of their dishes were gready. They also offer delivery with multiple delivery apps.

Jr. Cristobal was our server. He knows exactly how to strive for oitstanding service. Great Enchiladas de mole. Great squeezed lemonade. Great chips, salsa and queso. All has great flavor. Im from Mexico City and I know how it supposed to taste. They got it handled!!!! Impressed.

Best salsa and fajitas Ive had in the greater Houston area! And literally the cleanest restaurant as well. Super, super friendly staff! They treat you like family. Check this place out!! You wont be disappointed! If youre not in the mood for fajitas try the enchiladas.

The most authentic Mexican meal I ve had. The strawberry margaritas was my fav. I tried three margaritas raspberry, strawberry, a mixed one of mango and strawberry. The strawberry was my favorite! The tableside guacamole was good. The service was great and the staff is friendly.
