My daughter needed the services of a lawyer with experience in transgender issues in Texas. How lucky we were when we picked out Covington Law Firm from the few that a web search showed. This law firm cares... more than just a client/business type of relationship. I could tell from every interaction that this is a passion. I strongly recommend them. For our issue, all was completed in our favor and in the time-estimate quoted. Updates along the way were provided and we always felt like we had a competent, caring fighter in our corner.

Divorce is always a difficult experience. Vondas personal involvement and support throughout the legal process was very much appreciated. Too many attorneys leave so many of the details to their legal assistants and only get involved when necessary. Not so with Vonda. Thank you!

In this day and age it is rare to find a lawyer and their team to uphold integrity.It s always about the green cabbage but no good in return. Debra is a very kind person.Debra is an active listener to what you have to say and will give the best advice.She really helped me with my horrible situation.She was going to help find a home for the family dog but she thought of a way for me to keep her.She gave motherly vibes and I really will miss chatting with her. Zander is very professional and helpful.When I told Zander my situation.I was like I hope she can work my case.Zander said She will because she is a mother. I felt that the kids would be good.Because I didn t want to look for a 3rd lawyer if this didn t work out. I was in the fight for my life and was thinking well hell this it.I leaned on my faith that this too shall past.I googled everything I could about divorce.After a failed mediation I moved on to lawyer #2 Vonda. Vonda is a brilliant lawyer and knows her way around the legal (system)world. I found Vonda through Google search by looking for lawyers near the courthouse.When I spoke with Vonda she addressed to me how she should could help me.Vonda advises what to do and what not to do.Vonda put the kids first in the divorce so they can have a normalized life after the divorce.She and Debra both gave great advice on what to do after divorce.Debra was right she will take care of you.At first I had doubt.But I learned to go with the flow.I would recommend. Although I didn t like the status of the marriage title.I didn t like the mediation setting but the outcome was better than my first mediation more was accomplished. Pros-Best interest of you and/or family especially if you have kids. Cons-Expensive

Our experience with this law firm has been awful. Our original petitions weren t filed correctly and they didn t even realize until 40 days later when I brought it to their attention. I should not be notifying an attorney of something like this. Because of this, none of our due diligence was ever ordered or started until we were already eligible for default judgement. Regularly took 5+ days to get any kind of response, and often the replies didn t really address the questions. I was told different things regarding court dates that weren t true (ex: first I was told Ft Bend county does adoptions 2 Fridays a month. The next time I was told it s 1 Friday a month. The court confirmed that s not true). We ultimately ended up discharging the firm and hiring a new attorney. Our experience with that firm has been completely different. Unfortunately we have been trying to get our final billing invoice and return of the remainder of our retainer for over 30 days. I have followed up twice with no reply. We will be filing a grievance with the state bar. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Me and my husband had a consultation with her and overall she was compassionate, knowledgeable and really took her time to listen to our concerns and wishes. She educated us in our options and provided recommendations. While we weren t a fit financially I would definitely recommend this attorney to anyone who s looking for an attorney that s knowledgeable and compassionate. I only provided the 4 star rating as we didn t retain her. Outside of that she s a five out of five .

(FTM client got name and gender marker changed) Vonda was amazing and helping me get my name and gender marker changed. It cost a bit if many but all legal things do. I provided some things and signed off on papers and got my court order after a couple of months. I didnt have to show up in any court room and it got done! Now I just have to wait for my new birth certificate to come in :)

No matter whos decision it is to get divorced, it is never easy. Yet Vonda and Debra - yes they are the kind of people you think of on a first name basis - were very supportive every step of the way. Due to Covid restrictions all was done via phone and email. They both showed compassion not only towards my divorce, but my beloved dog passing away during all of this. I have some mixed feelings about this experience. On one hand, Vonda was very personable and friendly when we did speak. On the other hand, getting in touch with Vonda is a difficult task. There were multiple occasions in which I would make many phone calls to her office or send an email and then wait well over a week to receive a response. Vonda also tended towards oversharing, regarding her personal life and other cases she was working on. I would have appreciated more professionalism along the way, but the job got done in the end. The documents Vonda crafted for us were well done, and I dont have any complaints as far as that component of the service.
