Agave butter chicken biscuit I am a non vegan who loves to try new food. I love fried mushrooms and they nail it! Fried oyster mushrooms that taste like chicken! My favorites are the boneless buffalo cauliflower wings and flat bread pizza .. oh and the desserts are heavenly. All desserts are 100% vegan and there are so many house made cake and bread pudding options. If you get the gooey chocolate cake with pecans and wiskey sauce you will be back for sure!! Go get all the TLC at this local black owned business in Richardson. They also do catering and 6 course tasting menus (monthly) Vegetarian options: 100% vegan here. no animal products at all. The food here is great and I ll definitely be back. Everyone working here was friendly and they had my order nearly ready when I arrived for pick up. I was offered utensils which I didn t need. Everything was nicely packaged and in the bag. The space was small but they have plenty of outdoor seating. The pretzel was heavenly. Fluffy and salty. I didn t expect to like the cheese dip since it s just not my preferred dip, but it was good and I ate more of it than I thought I would. The lasagna was incredible. Great flavor, cooked to perfection, no burnt or soggy noodles. Plenty of sauce for dipping the garlic bread into. I tried all three cake flavors. Flavor wise, these are amazing. Frostings complement the flavors in the cakes well. Texture wise, the outside of the strawberry was a little over done. The chocolate and butter cake were good. The nuts worked really well in the chocolate cake. They were all enjoyable to eat, but I probably wouldn t order the strawberry again.

Im so happy this vegan cafe exists, but the price points are a little steep for repeat/daily customers. The food, while good and plenty (enough to take home for a small meal later), was a bit on the heavily seasoned side. My husband had the lasagna, and lasagna is in our minds equals Italian seasoning. But TLCs lasagna was super spicy, like Mexican or Indian food. I had the Pulled Pork Mac-n-Cheese with gluten-free pasta. It tasted like a South Carolinian-type rub on the meat, which in itself was good, but didnt pair well sitting atop a cheezy pile of pasta - the mustardy tang of the bbq sauce was too much to appreciatethe watered-down cheeze sauce. Lets talk about the mocktails... I ordered the cucumber martini; my husband ordered the clove-anise mocktail. TLC needs to up their game on these. I took a few sips of my drink and it sat there, untouched for the rest of lunch. It tasted more like pickle juice instead of a cucumber martini. Apparently, the Chef is the only one who knows how to make drinks there and he had taken off on this particular Saturday, so the waiters were making the drinks. My husbands drink was sickeningly sweet, but he did finish it. For $10 per MOCKTAIL, up your game, folks! When we sat down we were offered only bottled water, at first. So our drinks were ½ of the $87 (including tip) bill. The waiter was cordial, helpful, and answered all my dietary questions. Vegetarian options: This is a vegan restaurant with an extensive wine/cocktail list. Dietary restrictions: Vegan and gluten-free pasta, but probably not celiac safe, since the place is small and some of their protein sources contain wheat. Parking: Plenty of parking in the area, but very busy lot.

Weve been in Dallas for the last 4 days, and all yes all the food thus far has been mediocre or just bad. Tonight, we decided to try this local Black-owned vegan spot, and TLC did not disappoint. We have an amazing vegan spot back home that we visit weekly. The nachos at our local spot are my favorite, so I had to try TLCs nachos. The flavors and texture were present in every bite! And that was just the appetizer. I also ordered the ginger mocktail. It was very gingery without being spicy, and just sweet enough without feeling saccharine. The main dish was the chicken dinner (I opted for mushrooms rather than the Chikn substitute). Not only were the mushrooms seasoned, but so was the batter. The vegetables were cooked perfectly (still had bite without tasting either raw or overcooked). And the mashed potatoes managed to be creamy without dairy! Im not a gravy person ever, but the gravy on top of it all was . The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the vibe inside was chill (particularly because it was a Sunday night, Im sure). Purple is my favorite color, so I was into the decor by default. I highly recommend this spot, particularly if you arent vegan. This is the kind of place thatll make omnivores think twice before saying meat is required for a hearty. delicious meal. I hate Texas and hope I never have to come back, but if I do and I have to be in Dallas, Im only eating here.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at TLC Vegan Kitchen in Richardson, Texas, and I must say, the food here is incredible, especially if you were once a meat eater. This place is definitely for you. One dish that really stood out to me was the Brussels sprouts and pineapple appetizer. I have never been a fan of Brussels sprouts in fact, they used to disgust me. However, TLC Vegan Kitchen got it right. Those Brussels sprouts were so delicious that they have me rethinking my stance on them. They were perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Another standout meal was the lasagna. It was also amazing and hearty, with layers of rich, savory goodness. I truly wish I lived in Texas so I could visit more often, but I hope TLC Vegan Kitchen will consider expanding to Colorado someday. This place has quickly become one of my favorite vegetarian restaurants. Kudos to the chef and all the staff they were all wonderful and kind. Im definitely looking forward to revisiting in the near future when I m back in Texas.

We had the fried oyster mushrooms for appetizer, the grilled chicken Arrabiatta, the BLAC, washed it down with the pineapple rosemary agua Fresca and strawberry basil lemonade, and ended with the best peach cobbler I have ever had, and some vanilla gelato. Everything was delicious and we brought home leftovers of everything, except the gelato ;)

We had the lasagne and the pasta arriabata- both outstanding. The BLAC sandwich had everything it should have including a burst of umami that made me want more. I really want to like this place, but the variety just isnt there. The main protein options are highly processed faux meats or mushrooms. There are a few items with beans as the protein, but not as much as Id expect from a vegan restaurant. Would love to see more beans, lentils, soy curls, etc on the menu. The food here is also pretty salty.

Food was good but a little on the salty side. We went on Father s Day so I get that it was probably busier than normal, but when we were seated, the rush had significantly died down to where half the tables in the restaurant were empty. From the moment we sat down, we had to prompt the waitress for most of the meal. We asked for our water halfway through our meal (never refilled, btw), they didn t ask if we d like anything else to drink, did not come to check up on us, remind them that we ordered dessert and coffee, and when we ordered our coffee (with cream and sugar) they completely forgot to bring the cream and sugar and we had to ask them again. The couple next to us also waited for a long time for the bill, and the family next to us also had their order messed up and waited a long time. I ll try coming again in the future on a regular day (not a holiday), but overall not a great experience. Would recommend the food though, but with our experience here (I wouldn t say one of the worst, but definitely one of the most neglectful), I probably would have been better off ordering takeout.

My best friend drove down from Boulder to stay with us for a few days. My friend is vegan and we saw good reviews online for a place nearby called TLC Vegan Cafe. We arrived at 8:45 P.M. (they closed at 9:00 P.M.) and so I asked the hostess/waitress (Destiney) if we would be imposing to take a table this close to closing. She smiled a very warm smile and welcomed us in! We decided to order Buffalo Cauliflower Wings for an appetizer along with the Creamy Chickn Pasta Arrabbiata and Chef Troys Vegan Lasagna for our meal. My friend Paul was thrilled with the quality of the food! I am not a vegan but the lasagna was as delicious as anything I have ordered from nice Italian restaurants around town. And the Cauliflower Wings were spicy and delicious! We ordered desserts that were every bit as good as the meals we had just enjoyed. Destiney was charming and made us feel right at home. We even talked about her being the absolute perfect waitress and she really treated us more like an owner, who is very proud of her restaurant, would. It is always nice to leave a restaurant after having enjoyed the food and the service equally as well. Bravo TLC!

Not impressed with the food or the way it was handled. Ordered what was on the menu and was given a substitution without discussion or being informed. After the meal I was informed that the staff already knew of the change in food. Either the restaurant owner is lazy and wont reprint an updated menu, is unwilling to teach their staff to be honest and upfront when guests order food that are out of stock/changed, or they are content with deceptive practices and offering food that is a premium on the menu and providing a lesser quality product and hope that no one notices. I cant in good conscience support this establishment any further. This is not their first let down, but it will be the last time they let me down.

I really wanted to like this more. I ordered the B.L.A.C. sandwich with fried Tindle chickn. My partner ordered a plate with the fried Tindle Chickn, potatoes and veggies. We wanted the Tindle because its not something that many places carry. When our food came out, we were told it was the Impossible Chickn. We said we ordered the Tindle, and were told that they no longer carry it. Im not sure why we werent told that when we ordered. We probably would have changed our orders. We can get Impossible Chickn anywhere, thats not what we wanted. My partners veggies were oily and lacked flavor/seasoning. My sandwich wasnt anything special, and the bread was dry. The inside of the establishment is nicely done and the staff were friendly. I just feel that they changed the type of vegan chicken offered without updating the menu or verbally telling us that it wasnt available when we ordered. Vegetarian options: 100% vegan menu, so thats better than vegetarian. Dietary restrictions: All vegan, they also ask about allergies when ordering. Parking: Plenty of free parking.

Upon entrying the cafe you are greeted with large boards showing the specials and monday wine 20% off. The cafe is adored with about 15 tables ina open comforting layout. Perfect for a dat4 night or private friend cathup. The wait staff is Is very professional and most welcome man. Warming. The menu is simple but authentic and the background music is comfortable. Definitely a place to visit again. The food we found was very tasty and there were absolutely no meats which I enjoyed. We tried the collie flower played as an appetizer. Definitely something to have. Its very fresh and crunchy. The color flowers were not very large. Was just the right size. With all the other vegetables included. My friend had the lasagna and the spice in the flavor was always through the meal. I had the burger the Tyson burger. And once again, the flavor was always through the entire meals. Very tasty, far cry. from just a plain salad. The TLC Vegan Cafe is definitely a place to come back to again when im in Is Richardson and wanting good vegan. I REALLY wanted to like this place. I gave it a 2nd try and was even more disappointed than the 1st time. I want to say Destiny is amazing! Very sweet. I ordered from them months ago for the 1st time and got the Oyster Mushroom basket. Waited alittle over 30 mins . It was to go order so I waited inside and enjoyed the vibe of thr atmosphere. It was very nice! Got my food and it should have been hot and crispy but instead it was not cold but less than room temp and soggy. Like it sat for awhile. Went back in to speak to someone and had my order remade where I had to wait an additional 45 mins for the remake because they got very busy. I had spent over an hr all together for fried food to now get it over cooked and less Mushrooms that were given to me in the first basket. I should have went back in to get my money back but I was so over it . Now... decided to try them today. I believe in 2nd chances . I called and spoke with Destiny and explained how things went 6 months ago . She gave me a remake order again and I appreciate her for that. Got the same thing ( Oyster Mushrooms) with Sweet Potato Fries and Chocolate Cake with Pecans. Ordered inside for to go and sat again for 25 to 30 mins. I believe the Chef was there this time and if so , he was a very pleasant man! Got my food, went to my car , opened my box and yet again , soggy and room temp mushrooms with fresh hot crispy fries! The fries were everything i wanted the mushrooms to be but nope... no crispy Mushrooms though and yet again I waited a half an hr for this. not sure if they warm the cake but the icing was melted so had to scape it off the top of the container and make it work but by this time. ...I DEFINITELY was over it! It was a long trip and I waited to eat there. I was advised the fried food is best dining in but I waited 30 mins and it should have been fresh like any other place would sell fresh fried food with that long of a wait. I was beyond frustrated and just ate the fries and cake. Not sure if I would give a 3rd chance for something else on the menu due to what I really enjoy eating and looked forward to being a disaster and disappointment. The place is really cute though.

Ive been to TLC Vegan Kitchen many occasions and have always had great experiences in terms of the food and service. Unfortunately, my most recent experience for their Easter Brunch was dissapointing. Our waiter greeted us and instantly decided to share that his last table had a $200 bill but only tipped him $10. This was off-putting and inappropriate to bring up to customers. When our check was brought out, I was prepared to pay in cash. The waiter informed me that the restaurant may not have change but would see how he could accommodate me. Ultimately, the waiter returned and said he was unable to give back change. I mentioned that this should be on their website as a heads-up to anyone who is paying with cash. Another waitress was brought out and she explained their policy is written on their menu. I was unaware of this policy before because I didnt have a need to pay with cash previous times. The waitress then decided to question me and ask, What, did you not want to tip your waiter? I was offended at this point and demanded for my money back. The staffs behavior in combination with the lack of proper advertising of policy, is the reason why I will NOT be returning.

I really wanted to Love this place!! This was my first time here, I came for Easter Brunch. We had a reservation and was seated right away. I was so excited to try the food. The wait for the waiter to come to the table wasn t bad considering it was Easter. The tofu scramble was good. I didn t like the sausage but it was cooked perfectly. The potatoes as you can see were burned to a crisp. I asked was that the consistency of them, they said yes or they would be soggy but brought me out another batch. I put some of those next to the first batch so you could see the difference in the 2nd pic. The jelly for the biscuit taste weird. The waffle was ok but the gravy they put on top was not good, had a grits consistency!! I m on the fence if I would come back, I might give the dinner menu a chance!! The waiter needs to work on his customer service, nice guy but some of the things he was wasting to us was outrageous. Example: he handed us the ticket, we said we ll pay now, he responded you got about a second, I have another table that s been waiting a long time.. we re looking like WHAT!!! The chips was salty and mushy due to the beans and other toppings that was piled onto the chips. The mac and cheese was very bland and the cheese liquid was watery I was disappointed in the pasta because I expected it to be a white sauce instead of red (due to the name creamy pasta but the mushrooms and added chicken with the pasta had a nice flavor. It came with two garlic bread which was burnt and hard :/. Literally the liquor was the only good thing about this establishment but I will return to try a different dish not to mention the great customer service

This was the best vegan food I have had in Dallas! Our server was also superb recommending food to us! We ordered the chili cheese fries and cauliflower wings! Both were delicious!! They gave us a lot of food which was really nice of them! It is little pricey but the food is quality. Our server also recommended mixed berry cobbler which was not on the menu but it was amazing!! Came out nice and warm! We are definitely going back here. I wish I can remember our servers name but he was a white gentleman with a gray beard.

So we visited this spot for lunch one Saturday based on an instagram post about this place. I ordered a vegan burger that came with all the fixings except mayo . Yes, you heard me, they tried to charge me $1.50 for mayo. I guess I was supposed to eat the burger dry. We had the oyster mushroom appetizer, which was good, but the menu is confusing as to how many sauces you can get with the appetizer. We were not told that it would be a charge for each sauce outside the one it came with. We tried the chilli cheese fries appetizer, and the menu said the chilli was award winning. The chilli cheese fries were not good in my opinion, they were too wet and soggy because the chilli was watery. Another person got a mushroom sandwich with sweet potato fries, which were burnt to a crisp. We sent them back, and they cooked another order, but they came out burnt to a crisp as well. The young lady serving our table said the chef stated he tasted them and they were not burnt but when you bite them it crunch like cracklins. Another person gor the general tsos plate which was good. It was 5 of us and needless to say we will not go back. It seems when us as a people open restaurants we always got to be the most expensive but the food is mediocre. We went to a vegan restaurant in Austin and it blew our socks off and ot was not near as expensive as this place. On the flip side, the chef did send a free dessert out due to all the issues. Long story short, I will never go to a restaurant that will charge me for mayo after I paid for the burger thats nonsense... After asking to speak with the chef/owner regarding the fee for the mayo, I was then told they would remove the charge. PS....I didnt take a pic of all the food we had because by this point, we were annoyed and not impressed.

From the moment I walked in I was met with a beautiful atmosphere, a smiling hostess, an impeccable playlist, and a waiter with a charming personality. Our waiter Ki was so incredible, he had the best recommendations and best conversation, he was attentive but not overbearing. I only took one picture of some of the food that we had, I was too busy being present and enjoying the food to capture the rest. The food pictured is the crispy Brussel sprouts with pineapple delicious doesn t even start to describe how good it is, but I ll go with that for a lack of better words. I also experienced the down home vegan breakfast, it had the most perfectly crisp potatoes, delectable oat sausage (a first for me, definitely won t be the last), tofu scrabbled eggs, and a flaky perfectly baked biscuit. I think the highlight for me was the grapefruit marmalade. I can t wait to have this experience over and over again. I love this place.

This place comes off as elegant and very classy, from their atmosphere and decorations to their menu offerings. Initially I was very excited to see what they had on their menu. We ordered the TLC basket, the DAD burger, and the chicken steak dinner. The TLC basket were oyster mushrooms in breading served with sauce of your choice. The breading was not the best and left an almost grainy taste in your mouth. The chicken steak dinner was plentiful- if portion size is what youre looking for then you have come to the right place. But given the prices for the items, one could expect these portion sizes. The plating was beautiful, but in my opinion, the food was extremely heavy. We didnt finish everything off our plates and it still left us feeling greasy almost. Overall, the food is flavorful and the atmosphere is wonderful. Would I come back? Not a hard yes.

But our waiter Thomas grows fresh mushrooms and the chefs genius cut and fried them just right.. had me eating a full plate of them! The Nashville hot sandwich used the fried mushrooms (ask for some Buffalo sauce to add the heat and set it off!) The ginger turmeric drink was so good, and everyone at the table really enjoyed the butter cake as well. Not as enjoyable for us >> the chips served before dinner, and the Brussel sprouts (although the grilled hibiscus served with the Brussels were great).

Ordered food for pickup, the Nashville, the Dad, a side of Mac and cheese, and the chocolate cake. -The Mac and cheese was delicious -The Nashville was okay, it was a little bland for me but the sauce was nice. The side of sweet potato fries were overcooked and so crispy they were inedible. -The dad sandwich was bland, but again it was okay. The side of fries for this one were soggy but well seasoned. They seemed like they had been left under a heat lamp for an hour or so. -The chocolate cake was delicious, but the frosting was a jelly/jam texture, which was off-putting. I ended up scraping it off and eating the cake plain. It was deliciously moist and had a great crumb. Overall I wouldnt return, especially with the prices for very mid quality food (the whole wheat buns gave a school cafeteria type feel), but maybe worth stopping in for a snack (the mac and cheese) or dessert (cake but hold the frosting).

This is a small vegan restaurant with some well made food options. The fried oyster mushrooms were a tasty and unique option that you wont find on most menus. They came fully battered in what seemed like gram flour; paring nicely with the vegan buffalo sauce. The B.A.D (big avocado dad) burger, that we chose with the black bean patty, was substantial and would be an extremely filling meal, especially with an included side. The patties themselves were moist, tasty, and held together well. On the other hand, the Nashville hot sandwich had an imbalanced sweet flavor along with a non-complementary texture pairing. This was disappointing, especially since I have had much tastier TiNDLE chicken sandwiches elsewhere. As for the sides, the fries were hot, fresh, crispy and well-seasoned. The quinoa & broccoli salad was also nice; it tasted fresh and had a pleasant mildy sweet flavor and good texture with the included cranberries and almonds. This was not my 1st visit, nor will it be my last, as I have other menu items to try still. Dietary restrictions: The wait staff were friendly and even asked about any dietary restrictions prior to taking our order!

Four of us met here for dinner, excited to find good vegan options. Overall, the food was OK. A lot of effort has been placed into creating good dishes, I can see the solid efforts with this. That said, why do vegan dishes all need to have fake meat substitutes. There are a LOT of vegan dishes that dont require meat substitutes. E.g., all the flat breads had fake meat on them. Whats wrong with basil, pesto, tomato, etc.? However, the service was far too slow. We arrived at 5:45PM and left at 8:20PM. Almost 3 hours for appetizers and dinner. Also, the AC was either off or not working. It was SOOO HOT inside and of course, the experience was made worse by the slow service. Almost 3 hours in the heat with only 2-floor fans, and hard wooden chairs made for a rough experience. Lastly, within hours of leaving, I became really sick. I am always open to giving 2nd chances, but in this case, there were just too many negatives.

Finally tried TLC! Vegans rejoice! The menu has loads of choices. I tried the chickn fried steak. You have the choice of portobello or impossible. I chose impossible so my omnivore friends would most enjoy. It came with mashed potatoes and some amazing sautéed vegetables. We also split the gooey chocolate dessert with ice cream. We all gobbled up every bite. My friend had the fried chikn (with oyster mushrooms) and his husband had the lasagna which he raved about! My husband had the Mac and Chez with buffalo chikn. They had a nice wine selection! We got a bottle of Rombauer Chardonnay as it was a special occasion. What a great wine! They also have beer. Bonus: Monday is buy 2 entrees, get one free AND 20% discount on bottles of wine. I can t wait to take more people there! Thank you TLC for moving in near me! My family and I visited here for dinner on a Friday evening and it was absolutely amazing. The Chef/owner was so kind and personable. The food was absolutely delicious that I totally would have known it was even vegan. And I cant forget the PHENOMENAL dessert we had the strawberry cake and definitely hit the spot! Will definitely be back!

Ordered late at night the phone line was busy! It was super close to their closing time and I was worried, but I had no reason to be. Finally got through to let them know I m en route and when I arrived to the cozy shop the service was pleasant and the meal was serve hot and ready to eat and one Pizza kit came with instructions. I would def recommend and visit again!

Yesterday I had Cheesy Lasagna (good), Buffalo cauliflower (good) as an appetizer and the house Sangria. From the second I walked in, I was enjoying the experience. I was promptly seated. The waiter was so polite and courteous. I chose a seat close to the window. It was beautiful and bright. The music playing in the background and people chatting made for such an upbeat atmosphere. Chef suggested a White sangria and I ordered it. It was sweet, tart, and delicious. The sangria was instagram photo worthy as well. To start off dinner, I ordered chili cheese fries. They were hot and cheesy. Crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. Excellent presentation. Next I had the chili cheese burger. It was okay, I prefer a really saucy burger so next time I ll probably request a side of chipotle sauce with it. The sweet potato fries were beyond amazing though. Finally, the pinnacle of my night was the strawberry cake with ice cream on the side. I was immersed in the flavors harmony. The warm sweet cake and the chilled creamy ice cream. It was like a dream. My only regret is that I didn t order a second cake to go because I m home now and the 1/4 of cake I have left Is not enough. Thank you so much! I had such a wonderful experience. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. I couldn t have enjoyed myself more.

I finally visited and was truly excited about my first visit. Unfortunately I was not impressed or satisfied. I ordered the Fried TLC (Taste Like Chicken) Sandwich Fried Oyster Mushrooms w/Pickles, Arugula, Pickled Onions, & Tomatoes on the side on Village Baking Company Hoagie Bun with the buffalo sauce and side of quinoa broccoli salad. The bread was dry, the salad for the sandwich wilted, and broccoli salad too soggy and flavorless. Maybe, I ordered the wrong menu selections. I like to support local businesses so I will give them one more chance. I will update my review after my second visit. Vegetarian options: Vegan and vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: Vegan
