This place is more proof that Iraqi spots make really good hamburgers. Trust me, order the hamburger if you go here. It s so good. Also had their falafel which was delicious, too! Some of the better falafel I ve tried in Dallas. I would definitely return and try other items, but that hamburger will tempt me.

I am extremely extremely angry with my experience at Gilgamesh. My children have life threatening allergies. Nuts and sesame cause anaphylaxis and I have to give them the EpiPen and rush them to the ER. First of all our server didnt even speak English well enough to know what sesame and nuts were. Excuse me!! Is your restaurant not training their servers to know basic English that pertains to food ingredients especially if they are major allergens? So another server had to translate everything for us. I specifically said to keep everything with gluten, nuts and sesame far away from the food that we ordered. He kept interrupting me, not letting me finish my sentences then kept saying how he knows the food really well and none of the items we ordered will have any allergens. Whats the first thing that came to our table? Rice with nuts! Then all the grilled items were served on top of bread! I was livid! They changed the rice but why did the rice with nuts come to our table to begin with. They offered the same for the meats but why did it come with the bread to begin with? Will Gilgamesh take responsibility for sending my children to the emergency room? Will they pay for the bills? Will they tell the doctors that it was their fault my children had anaphylactic reactions? This is the last time Im going to this restaurant. On top of all of this we had to waive them down multiple times to get our drinks and to pay our check. Never am I returning to this establishment again. It doesnt matter how good their food is, and honestly I find it very basic. The fact that they didnt care about life threatening allergies and cross contamination is enough for me not to go there again.

Im so grateful to have celebrated my birthday with lunch at Gilgamesh yesterday, it was absolutely worth the drive and were already looking forward to coming back! My partner and I have a great interest in Middle Eastern cuisine and have enjoyed trying new things every opportunity we can. Our wonderful host graciously ordered for us so we could try something we hadnt had before, weve talked about how delicious everything was since weve left! The meats are succulent and Juicy, the bread is fluffy and comforting, everything goes so great with a cold glass of Vimto. We just loved the atmosphere and everyone was so kind, we cant wait to come back and try more! Thank you for your hospitality and a wonderful birthday lunch!

Our first time to this Iraqi restaurant. We so enjoyed the food, including a lamb / rice dish, eggplant salad, Iraqi salad and beetroot salad. They also bring out a curry lentil soup as a complementary appetizer for everyone, which was delightful. We look forward to going back and trying more delicious looking food on the menu.

My wife and I just tried the Gilgamesh restaurant for the first time. We both really enjoy Mediterranean cuisine and we have had it many places. This was some of the best weve had anywhere! The staff was very friendly and service was quick. My wife and I shared the mixed grill. Every bit was delicious! Looking forward to going back and trying other dishes. After dinner we stopped at the Gilgamesh bakery next door to purchase a couple of deserts - also very, very good!

I heard this was an authentic Iraqi restaurant for the best shawarmas . I arrived on a Sunday early evening and they were out of shwarma which was a disappointment but I decided to try some kabobs . I had to flag down the waiter to get a menu . I felt ignored and the place wasn t even very busy. The food had good quantity of servings and was tasty. I asked for a take home box and cup and waiter just gave me a box and a cup . Had to walk to the front to ask for a lid and a sack. I can say the food was delicious but the turn off was the service. Hope management resolves this issue as I m very disappointed with being treated this way. Was wondering if it was because I wasn t Arabic or because I wasn t dressed in hijab as I saw a table of women wearing hijab and getting better service. I m hoping to try again and to get a better experience .

Gilgamesh Mediterranean Restaurant offers a wide variety of non-veg and veg options, including fish, chicken, and lamb. We tried the falafel, which had a decent taste and came in good quantity. For the non-veg dishes, we ordered chicken and lamb. The soup was really creamy and delicious. The lamb could be cooked better, but the chicken tasted very good with salad and sauce. The service is self-service, and the ambiance features wall posters that beautifully resemble Middle Eastern history.

This is an amazing place. Starts with the warm welcome at the entrance. They get you seated right away. The food is very freshly made and the portions are large. Me and my husband came for a really late night dinner, and we got to the restaurant in the last hour of them being open, and we were their last customers. That didnt seem to matter at all, it was as if we were the first. We let our server know we had never eaten this kind of food before, and he was happy to recommend us each a meal that he thought he would like- and he was right! We ended up liking our own recommendations, and each others! We shared playes for the first time in our entire marriage. We got the mixed grill and the lamb kozi. Our server was always available as we needed him to be, as well, but we never felt rushed or anything, it was just that kind of atmosphere. We were aware of the time though, and ate just enough to feel satisfied and asked for to go plates. He noticed we hadnt eaten much and asked us if we were already through, and we told him our reasons, and he *really* reassured us that we can take our time, enjoy our meal, and we felt right at home. So we ate, and as we were finished he offered us hot tea and dessert too! The dessert was called lady fingers- you want that. Im telling you, save room for dessert! Itll be hard to do, because that food is delicious, but super worth it if you do!! I only give the atmosphere a 4 because when we were driving up, it looked like a dark alley, and as late as it was, I almost turned around. But I would have never known what I was missing out on- and I would have somehow still regretted it. I could say so much more, but.. you gotta go. Just do it!

We sat around for 30 minutes while they kept serving people who came after us and ignoring us, so we eventually gave up and left. It was like we didnt even exist... wouldnt even look at us. I love the atmosphere, the food and the service! My family came here to try out the family mix platter and let me tell you the thing was huge and we got to try everything that was on their BBQ menu. The meat was soft and tender. Definetly will be coming back here!

We came here with a group and ordered a variety of things off the menu. My husband and I ordered 1/2 order of the kebob plate, hummus, falafel, and tea. Our server was very helpful and friendly, and was able to make accommodations for my food allergies (I m allergic to nuts and sumac, both of which is used in menu items). I really enjoyed the kebob and hummus. The kebob was very juicy and flavorful, esp with the garlic sauce. The falafel was well made, but I personally prefer them to have more herbs. Our friends got the burger and kebob sandwiches, which they really liked. We would definitely come back, we enjoyed our meal here and the service is great. Dietary restrictions: They were able to accommodate my nut and sumac allergy

Service was not the very best but the food however was good very confusing when it came to orders and taking account of multiple people at one table Review update walked in on Sunday after church around 730 pm and we had about 12 people. Let me just say that portions have been upgraded to Texas worthy portions and pricing is excellent. Really good quality food and service. Will be back multiple times again. The place is very bad. I do not recommend it. The mattress or foam of the chair is not stable on the wood, which led to my son falling when he sat on it, and his back hurt from the wood, and this could have led to him breaking his back. After that, no one came to apologize for what happened, but rather an employee came and said To my son, be a man, dont cry!!!!!!! Attached is a picture of my sons back showing the wound that occurred Which he still suffers from until now Also, the cleanliness of the place was very bad when the sponge fell and there were spider webs under the chair! Unfortunately, it was supposed to be a special lunch with my children, but it turned out to be the exact opposite and it became a very bad memory
