Great place. I ll get remote work done, and have small meetings here all the time. I like that there is both indoor and outdoor seating. Plus the basketball hoop in the back is such a random but fun amenity to have, especially when taking a break after staring at a laptop screen for hours.

The coffee shop doesnt have any food apart from a few cookies and maybe something else small, so I will give it 5 stars for the BARISTA, this guy was incredible. Just my drinks alone were an experience! It was a tad* expensive but for how perfect the drink was (with the cream art on top) I am super happy! ( I got the Mocha Latte hot and then got another because it was so good) Free Wi-Fi and quiet music made working great; the barista even called out names according to how loud the room was. I recommend giving a good tip if you plan on working there with only 1-2 drinks to keep this place nice. I went at 1:30 PM on a Thursday. This review is only for the coffee shop, not the workspace.

Came to Communion Coffee after my office lost power when a couple transformers blew. A neat find. Never new there was anything behind the QT. Glad to have found it. Service was great and my latte was too. Nice space and I found a seat on the inside which is prized real estate. Bathrooms are located in the adjacent building. Part of a coop with an event space and a brewery. Ample parking as well.

The place is okay for coffee goers only. If you re the type that doesn t like to drink coffee then this is not the place for you. Went here with my class and we were locked outside for a while even though we had a room reserved and the layout is very confusing. Other than that the place was fine.

Great concept but not layout is a little confusing and I was overwhelmed when I walked in. Staff is nice and helpful. Not my usual spot but it was nice it was near the location I needed to be after. If you are a regular coffee drinker, I don t recommend the slush. I was curious but didn t cover my coffee needs. Taste great! I m sure the regular coffee does too.

Really nice concept for the co-working space however there is a fee / subscription you ll have to pay to enter the big lounge as advertised. The actual coffee shop and free area to dine is quite small. Seats weren t as comfortable as expected and the outlet plug in spots were limited. Staff was friendly, welcoming and their coffee was good though.

The place isn t bad, it s just that it s only good for a select group of people. I came here with my professor and classmates and we were locked out of the building for a while and had to walk around the building just to get in. Our private room didn t have enough seats. Also, no coffee alternatives for non-coffee drinks. Had an ice tea and it wasn t the best.

Updated 2023: unfortunately, this place has gone downhill. They used to offer quality coffee, but they had since downgraded their equipment and changed baristas. The quality of the coffee has seriously suffered. Really unfortunate because they were excellent, but now their coffee is boarding on bad. Full marks! I m a coffee fanatic and am very particular about where I get my coffee. Communion knows their stuff. Novel beans pulled perfectly on a Synesso machine. Peak grinders. All top of the line equipment complimented by top of the line baristas. The icing on top is the friendly service and great space. Job well done Communion, this area needed a third wave shop and you have delivered.

I visited Communion on Friday night to relax after a long day of work, as it s one of my favorite places to go for quality coffee and a good atmosphere. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, but the gentleman working this evening was extremely unpleasant. He rushed me through my transaction, plainly irritated and spent the whole time making my drink huffing and puffing. It was obvious that he did not want any customers coming in, and evident that he thought there was a million better things he could do than make my drink. Look, I get it - people have bad days. He could ve been having one. But I m remiss to spend $5-6 on a coffee and have it unashamedly obvious in my face that they do not think I am worth their time. I ve never felt unwelcome or comfortable here before this evening, but I now know not to go back to this shop. Look elsewhere if you want to feel welcomed or provided basic human courtesy when this man is working. Otherwise, you re safe as every other staff member is wonderful and a treat to speak with.

Convenient coffee shop - I ve visited a few times over the years and find the service friendly, the coffee and breakfast tacos good, and the selection of gifts (greeting cards, mugs, clothing, coffee gear and non-coffee gifts) really nice. For the coffee-interested: the house coffee is local Lexicon Coffee roasters and there s also a rotating menu of featured roasters for pourover or espresso. On my last visit the featured roaster was Passion House (Chicago, IL), but they also had Merit Coffee, Black and White, and Olympia mentioned in their menu. Their espresso machine is an Eversys, and they re brewing on a Curtis (both batch and Gold Cup for pourover). 4.5 stars for me - solid coffee experience I d recommend, but wish they had a washed coffee available (both batch drip and pourover were naturals or experimental processes) and it is challenging to find current and complete menu (the breakfast tacos and pastries are somehow a secret unless you know to ask about the tacos, or are present to see the pastry case).

Had a really bad pourover here and I hate paying $6 for bad coffee. The Viewfinder Ethiopia. Not sure if the coffee for sale was any indicator, but it was roasted almost two months ago (4/11) and if youre selling coffee on pourover that old, thats like selling last weeks bread at a premium. No flavor, no aroma, just a flat cup of coffee that tastes like hollow nothing.

If you are interested in a co-working space, I would highly recommend Communion! They have a unique, cozy coffee shop along with a separate large area for co-working. I was there for a business meeting and Crandell was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The work space was quiet and comfortable. Also, the staff in the coffee shop are extremely knowledgeable and as a bonus- allergy friendly. They definitely accomplished their goal of having a community type feel. A cornerstone in the Richardson community. The service is excellent and the owners are great people. Im a big fan of their chai latte, and grabbing a delicious hot chocolate in the evening is a real treat. The interior has an industrial vibe with black, wood, and pops of color, tied together with the natural greens of house plants. But perhaps the most enjoyable element is their sprawling patio with ample comfortable seating, shade, and quiet spots for conversation.

This place is really beautiful and I was treated with kindness and respect by the baristas despite an embarrassing payment mishap on my part. Besides the decor, I also enjoyed perusing their shopping goods, all so unique and fun! The event space behind the coffee shop is equally beautiful and even more inviting...wish I could hold a meeting there! I also really, really appreciated that the music wasnt deafening (like a lot of coffee shops these days). And most importantly, the latté was delicious. Cute coffee shop, London fog was good. We came here at 11am for brunch and a drink before heading off. Barista was nice, when we asked for food we were told the pastries sold out for the day. We asked where we could order food at since there is a food menu on the site, they said the cafe was closed.... not sure if they meant permanently or just today or its only open certain hours not on the site. Now this is rather unique coffee place. From its name to what has to offer. I see most people come here to work or meet others for work. I got a typical latte it was on point. Love the space. Probably the nastiest coffe in all of dfw lol no joke. Quite undrinkable espresso. Surely if you add milk and sugar it might be ok, but even water tastes good with milk and sugar. The roast simply isnt good, too acidic amd the pull also not good. Taste like dirty coca water. The shop itself is badass btw.

Amazing service and even better people! Extremely sad to hear this was their last weekend before the owners close the diner portion of Communion. The manager was incredible and it was obvious she was good to the staff - owners loss! Wishing well to all the staff!

They serve limited but reasonably high quality fare, small but casual drinks (lightly poured), as well as great coffee (from the cafe side with slight delay). Setting is relaxed, parking is ample, service can be slightly slow but theyre all polite and knowledgeable. Altogether a great place to break bread if on a date with a yuppie.

This google pin should be split into three standalone places to avoid confusion. The coffee shop is a small space with nice vibes and friendly baristas good for chatting with friends or working solo while sipping on the tasty latte. The spacious working areas shown in the pictures are of a $25 per visit collaboration workspace right next door. Then there is a café in a third space that serves breakfast and lunch dishes. The latte was particularly tasty and came with latte art! The coffee shop space, understandably, is not conducive to extended working especially if that involves calling into zoom meetings.

Undoubtedly the best coffee in Richardson. Great drip and pour over options (fresh beans!), as well as espresso offerings. The price is a bit high as compared to chain coffee, but youre 100% paying for quality (and its worth it). The employees are also incredibly kind and positive and the vibe is great for meetings and socializing.

Absolutely loved the vibe of this place. You can come here with your pets, friends, family or kids as there is plenty of space to chill out in and around the cafe. The coffee was great too.

Staff is friendly and bright. Coffee is okay. There is open WiFi for work. However, it is not the best place for studying. Here on a Friday morning and its busy. The place is small and cam easily feel crowded. Music is louder than usual so customers have to talk above music which makes studying there impossible unless you have some pretty thick noise cancelling headphones. Oh the study area is only available for members and is not part of the coffee shop.

My family and I live down the road from Communion, and it s recently become our go-to spot. The baristas are wonderful and friendly, the drinks always taste great, and we love the atmosphere! We highly recommend it.

I gave this coffee shop 3 stars for a few reasons, hear me out: Q. Was the service good? A. Yes, with an asterisk. The barista at the counter was friendly, but seemed really distracted when I was asking simple questions about their brewing process. He also made me an entire drink with the wrong milk even though I asked for a specific milk, which is fine, it happens, but then he makes the new drink incorrect. Sad face. Q. Was the drink delicious? A. Meh. I like my drinks strong, and I like to talk through it with my barista so they know that. The drink s flavor was very weak and during the introduction process with the barista, I asked if the drink that I was going to receive would be strong. He said that it was a general brew base, and that it was just added to the milk, but said that he could make it stronger. I said OK thanks cause I like it strong. When I received my beverage, it was quite weak, so I feel that they didn t listen to my request at all (I even paid extra for the extra strength). So after taking my first sip in the parking lot, I went back inside to ask again for more of the brewed ingredient. Another sad face. -To be fair: when I asked a different barista to add more of the ingredient to the drink he was super helpful. So props to that guy (not the original barista). Q. How was the quality? A. Quality was fine. Nothing special, but that s ok. I just wanted a delicious caffeinated beverage. Q. Overall feel of Communion Coffee? A. Overall, the atmosphere is great. It was full of people on laptops and having conversations. My only issue is with the drink quality vs. price (my iced drink which was almost flavorless was around $8 + tip), which was made incorrectly and had to be altered twice. This coffee shop seems like a nice local hub for people in the area, but I will reconsider buying a drink here again because I like to drink beverages that the baristas have pride in making. I know it sounds snobby, but that s my prerogative when I m paying $10 for a flavorless drink.
