My wife and received a 200.00 gift card for my birthday this Sunday to Bob;s Chop House in Plano so we ordered prime New York strip for dinner. The steaks were tough and didnt look like Prime cuts. For 172.00 plus a 30.00 tip for 2 people, I expected much better quality, very disappointed. Im not sure how they can charge so much and not have the absolute best steaks!

4.7 stars. 1st time to finally check this place out. Been fortunate to have eaten at many nice steakhouses so I was curious to see how Bob s compares. Small business dinner for our party of six. No appetizers but a good bit of drinks with the focus being the steaks. Ordered mine black and blue which was executed just right. Slight ding on the carrot as it was a tad mushy. The scalloped potatoes were seasoned well and very enjoyable. Nearly forgot to mention that the beefsteak tomatoes and onion salad with Bleu Cheese crumbles was absolutely wonderful! Service was superb. Dining environment was cozy. Definitely will be bringing my wife here for our next special date night. Kid-friendliness: Would not advise taking a young child here as they could be quite disruptive to others trying to enjoy the formal setting.

Recently visited twice in roughly a month. First time visiting Bob s. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and setting. We were greeted by our waiter, Range. Range was enthusiastic and confident about the items he recommended and the product he represented. We listened and almost everything we ordered was recommended. The food was presented well and tasted great. We got the Crab Cake, Lobster Bisque, Wagyu Filet and Carrot Cake. All respectively good. However, Range sealed the deal. His level of service and personality is what brought us back weeks later. Thankfully we were able to be served by him again with other family and once again had a memorable experience. Bobs will remain high on our list because of it.

Warm atmosphere and consistently delicious. Staff and owner are always friendly and personable, making for an incredibly well-rounded and lovely dining experience. Come hungry! Parking: Shared parking garage is free and adjacent to Bobs. Never have an issue finding a spot. Valet is also available directly through Bobs.

My first time at a Bobs but certainly wont be the last. First, the service was great. Our waitress kept the drinks flowing, the table clean, and gave excellent recommendations. The steak was delicious and cooked to perfection. I had the bone-in ribeye and it was one of the most flavorful steaks Ive ever eaten, not kidding. My only suggestion to Mr Bob or whoever the owner is, GET SOME BIGGER TVs! The 18in computer screens at the bar just dont cut it. I was squinting just to see the score of the games. Other than that, a great place to eat a steak go with confidence.

Been coming here for 15 years. Hands down the best steaks, atmosphere, and drinks in town. You will not be disappointed. Buy the 16 oz filet. Unbelievably high quality. Unbeatable flavor and sear. You cant get this anywhere else. Drinks? They pour generously. Taste is excellent. Sides? Get the loaded baked potato. Brussels sprouts, salads, desserts? All good.

What an impressive place. From the moment you step inside and are greeted by 4 enthusiastic people, the warmth of the room , it all just fits together. The food was impeccable, I cant cook a steak that is that perfect! Oh! The lobster? So tender, again perfectly prepared. The scallops were sweet and tender. The deserts were decadent. The service was noticed, really! Marc was incredible. He made the meal an experience. At one point, the owner stopped by the table to check on us. He was delightful.

Just went for our anniversary and the staff knew how to make it an awesome occasion. They were very knowledgeable and helpful with the wine, steak and side options, and equally patient while we were navigating what we wanted. I dont know what others found 5-star about this place, but this has been my worst steak house experience. I chose this place based on its reputation in the area, but sadly, it turned out to be the worst place I have ever visited. The bread was awful and seemed old; the butter was expired and smelly with weird taste and our steak was burnt out. I strongly recommend staying away from this place and spending your money somewhere where you get a decent meal without being worried about being sick. This place is different from what they are advertising or even a place to have healthy food, being afraid of getting sick!

I am vegetarian and went to this steakhouse with my colleagues. Everyone enjoyed the food. I had vegetarian options that was outside the menu. The chef was able to prepare a pasta with vegetables for me. Vegetarian options: There are a few vegetarian options on the menu like Mac and cheese. The chef also prepared a pasta with vegetables, which was not in the menu. The desert was also amazing - carrot cake.

I was extremely disappointed that a place that considers itself a steak and chop house doesnt flame broil their steaks. The steak was very disappointing. When I first walked in I was overwhelmed by the smell of seafood. The pan fried potatoes were almost burnt. The pepper gravy for the potatoes was just brown gravy. The temperature of the room was so cold we had to wear our coats. We went for Valentines Day. Thank goodness I never have to do this again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

There are many 5 star rated Steak restaurants, I chose Bob s Chop and Steek House on Legacy Road. Over the past 20 plus years I ve Entertained many customers because of the outstanding service, great stakes and pleasant atmosphere. Regretfully, I chose Bob s steakhouse to celebrate my 80th birthday with my family and a couple customers (total 7 guest). Because of the nature of our reservation, I d requested a small dining room as opposed to the main dining room. Cheryl points we experienced during our reservation, put a real damper on my celebration. Allow me to identify what was experienced. 1. There was a large party of 10 to 12 guests in a table right next to us. They were very loud and had no consideration for anybody else in the room. We commented to our server it was a problem and she nor the manager made no effort to quiet the table down. 2. One of my guest ordered your Prime Ribeye steak which, as I understood didn t taste like a Prime Ribeye as it was 59% fat, tuff and cold when placed in front of my customer. 3. My daughter had my Birthday Cake custom made for our celebration and after declining a request to take a dessert order, my daughter reminded our service there was a cake in the kitchen for our special occasion. It took approximately 15/20 minutes before sliced were delivered to our table. 4. Our guests or family were never asked if anyone would like a cup of coffee or Tea to enjoy with their Birthday Cake. 5. When we sat down , my wife mentioned to our server, she would appreciate receiving our bill at the end of our celebration .. our server handed it to a guest of ours (very embarrassing) My 80th Birthday Celebration at Bob s was a real disappointment and certainly not like any business or social experience I ve had in the past 20 plus years. The service at Bobs is impeccable and unmatchable. I clumsily knocked over my wine glass. Not only did they immediately clean it up, they brought me a fresh glass of wine, even though it was my fault! Also, my wifes steak was overdone and they came by and asked if it was okay, and my wife said it was okay. However, the manager came by and said he was bringing out a new steak because it appeared to be overdone. Not only did they bring out the new steak, they comped her entire meal. She was satisfied with the initial steak (ordered medium well but it came out well done), but they insisted on making it right. It was a great experience and we will be back!

This is the place! If youre into darker, quieter fine steak house dining, with old dark wood interior, nearly a speak easy feel, and great food and service, I invite you to consider this place. The bar doesnt skimp on the amount poured in the drinks. I had a shot of Balvenie. Framed images of the Rat Pack, Marilyn Monroe, American flags may have one reminisce about a bygone age that I for one miss.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Bobs Steakhouse, and while the overall experience had its highs and lows, I left with mixed feelings. Let me break it down. However, the appetizer, fried calamari, took an unexpected turn. To my disappointment, I discovered a deep-fried piece of hair in it, which could have been rather unsettling had I not caught it in time. Fortunately, the restaurant promptly addressed the issue by comping the calamari off the bill a response one would expect in such circumstances. Moving on to the ambiance, my initial interaction with the hostess left much to be desired. Upon entering, there was a noticeable lack of greeting or welcome, which set a somewhat off-putting tone from the start. While the server did deliver a commendable performance, providing the level of service expected from a highly rated establishment, the initial impression could have been warmer. Comparatively, Ive had more satisfying experiences at other steakhouses in the Plano area, such as 3 Forks or Steve Fields. The service at these establishments tends to be consistently top-notch, and they have set a high bar for the level of hospitality one anticipates from a quality steakhouse. In conclusion, while Bobs Steakhouse offers delicious food and satisfactory service, there are areas where improvement is needed, especially in terms of the initial customer welcome and attention to detail in food preparation. For a birthday celebration or a special night out, I might consider exploring other options in the Plano area that consistently deliver a more well-rounded dining experience.

Ive been to the Bobs in Oaklawn and unfortunately this location just didnt meet those expectations. The service was phenomenal, but youre also paying for the food and it was just lacking. None of our food had any flavor, from the sea bass to the filet, no flavor. We had the tenderloin sliders and the once crunchy bread was soggy by the time it got to our table. Our server was great, but likely will stick to the Oaklawn location for the taste.

Welcomed to warmly for our 6:30 reservation Family group of 9 even though we arrived early. We were asked our preference- immediate seating or bar and wait for the balance of our 9? We chose to wait and the old school clubby feel of the bar set a great tone for the rest of our evening. Specially beverages prepared efficiently and deliciously. Excellent wine list and informed helpful guidance. Range greeted us when we were seated in our private corner of Bobs- asking for beverage preferences as he helped us settle into our comfy seats. Per Ranges suggestion I ordered the 9oz filet Medium Rare Plus (a new temp experience for me) encrusted in peppercorn. O my goodness! Next level yum! The pace of our dinner was beautifully orchestrated by Range and his entire crew. Crab cake and tuna tartare apps arrived perfect temps. I would not order the tartare again. It was fine not steller. Especially if when compared to the melt in your mouth crab cake. Tip on lobster bisque: YES YOU MUST order. But I would split it w your dinner partner. The bisque is rich. You need to pace yourself at Bobs. Every bite is not to be missed. Arrive at Bobs hungry!! You will live tummy happy!

I expected a bit more. It was overall good. I expected great. Especially for the several hundreds of dollars we spent for 4 people, not including drinks. But the drinks were strong. The scallops were really clean! Steak was alright and the chops were dry. Salmon was good. Lobster bisque was delicious! Sides were excellent! Service was great! Very stoic. Atmosphere was great. Need pudding was pretty good. If you have the money to spend, its a good place to go. If your used to eating delicious steaks or looking for superior food and this is a stretch on your budget for a special occasion- Id skip and choose somewhere else. Oh! And NO KIDS MENU!!! They didnt have any alone juice or anything other than sodas, tea or water. Nothing that could even pass for kids meals. I spent $50 a child! And we are talking 5&6 yrs old. For all the reviewers trashing Bobs saying they re not family friendly When you spend a good amount in fine dining, the LAST thing that I want to hear YOUR kids being loud or distracting. In fact I d like Bobs even more if they imposed a minimum age limit if 13. Take your children to Outback or something. They re not as cute to me as they are to you and I am not paying to listen to them. Control your children. Folks don t listen to the 1 star reviewers that are sad because Bobs doesn t allow their kids to act like they re on the playground. The food here is fantastic! What s NOT to love? The atmosphere is very nice. If people want to complain about the prices, then go to Outback. This is a fine dining experience. If you re not happy with your food then by all means send it back. I mean weve been before, great atmosphere, fantastic steak and the brown sugar, cinnamon carrot is pretty good and the appetizers are and still were spot on - that shrimp bacon thing, yum - but all of that is just who yall are. Birthday dinner for a family of six. To be honest, we should not have selected this restaurant. Were just middle-class people, and paying for the group shattered my budget. It had a nice feel with a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable staff. Food quality was a mixed bag. Three said the food was excellent, and three said there was nothing special. Im on the side of nothing special. I will leave it at that.

This is such a great restaurant. It is a little pricey but the steaks come all the way from Chicago, and you can share with you spouse, enjoy a glass of wine, and make it an experience. Not kid friendly!!! Had a table of 10 (5 adults & 5 kids) to celebrate 2 birthdays. We were sat in one of the back rooms and everything was going well until a waiter from another table came over and told us to quiet down our kids and their tablets. Completely ruined the experience for us. When we spoke to the manager his only response was that they have a tablet tolerance. No one said anything to us when we were seated about a tablet tolerance. No ownership or explanation of surrounding tables being louder than us throughout the entire meal. So loud we could hear all of their conversations over our own. Since we were clearly not welcome or valued customers, we left immediately and will not be returning. As signaled by other reviews, this place clearly has a prejudice against families with kids.

Such a wonderful place. The Steak was absolutely amazing!!! My dad is disabled and the waters and owner of the restaurant really took good care of us. They cut my dad s food and met beyond our needs and accommodated for my dad. This restraint made my dinner special. For some, this is a Tuesday night dinner, for others, its a once in a lifetime experience. Everything was excellent from the cocktail sauce for the shrimp, to the very detailed service from our waiter Abel (ask for him). Steaks were perfectly cooked, and key lime pie was divine. For two of us, with a couple of drinks, an appetizer and main course, around 200, but well worth the price if you have the money or the reason to celebrate.

Solid steakhouse. The crab cake appetizer is one of the best Ive had in DFW. The complimentary bread is also amazing. The steaks we ordered (rib eye and filet mignon) were both good. A secluded, yet stunning steak and chop house. First of all, John the head of the Valet team is precious and always welcoming and kind with a big smile. Even in over 100 degree heat! For the most part his team is great but if you have a new car make sure Cody parks it within the cones and not under a tree with losts of bird that was a sad( gross) thing to see after having a lovely dinner. I always sit at the bar where they have fabulous bartenders who have charm, charisma and are very talented. They know everyones name and what they have ordered preciously becuase they care. Steve, Scotty, Autumn and Devin are the top ones and always provide great, personal service. They have many repeat customers who even dine some times every evening. I love the owner Silvio who runs an impeccable 5 star steakhouse, with an incredible chef and staff including Travis the Manager who is awesome and Mensa the SOM. The bar reminds me of Cheers as everyone is a family, happy to chat and share business and sports news. I have ordered the 9 oz prime filet with a lobster tail, pork chop ( better than Perrys ), peppered crusted prime sirlion, halibut on spinach and mushrooms, shrimp appetizer, and the crab legs which are already cracked to make it easy. The salads are all great I happen to really like the chophouse salad and the blue cheese salad. The bread is made from scratch everyday I only eat the crust otherwise I would be to full. I never have room for dessert but they all look great!! Yes, this is my go to place where it feels like home to me.

Great place for a solid meal. Everyone had filets in my party and was pleased. Our order did not come out correct but we adjusted. For sides we had mushrooms and Brussels. I love Brussels usually but I would suggest the mushrooms instead. Overall a good meal. The food wasn t that great either. My prime ribeye was very meh along with the broccolini. Dietary restrictions: They had a gluten free menu, but I m celiac. The server didn t seem to care that much about allergy restrictions as she didn t stay to listen or make me feel comfortable that things were prepared safely. This place has the best Filet Ive ever had !! I had to come back again to Plano to see if it held up and it sure did. Everyone in my party said the same thing about the quality of their steaks. I got the 16oz filet , medium and to be able to get it perfect in the middle and char the outside on such a thick cut is amazing. I am so glad they have a Tucson location as I live in AZ. The lobster bisque was really good as was the corn chowder. If you want the best or one of the best filets you will ever have go to Bobs and also check the value compared to every other high end a la cart steakhouse.

We visited Bobs on Valentines night after looking at all the rave reviews. Despite the phenomenal service, the food was sadly very disappointing. We ordered the filet medium rare with a side of smothered potatoes. However the meat was very rare with a cool bleeding center which wasnt appetizing (we didnt want to send our food back because it was our special night and didnt want to spend our time waiting on our food). The potatoes were okay, rather under seasoned. The carrot was just a glazed boiled carrot. For a steakhouse of this price range, we expect a lot more and regret not going to Perrys. The desert was small and our lava cake was overcooked and not oozy. The Valentines special menu drinks were not bad. Overall, not worth the hype.

My wife and I dined here for our 3rd wedding anniversary and boy did we ever make the right choice. Ive heard the ads for Bobs on the Ticket and have always wanted to try it. The food was amazing, the service was outstanding, and everything was just first class. The ambiance is terrific and Im no way haughty or intimidating. The lights are kept low which I found very relaxing but i did notice several people using their flashlights to read the menu. The walls were decorated in golf memorabilia and I was surprised to see that there were 2 tvs showing sports in the room. The waiter (Robert) delivered top notch service and was very helpful and attentive. We had the bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer, which were very good. The bread was also really good but we didnt want to fill up on it. For entrees we had a bone in ribeye and bone in filet, respectively. Both steaks were cooked perfectly! The glazed carrot that came with my steak was almost like a dessert. We followed up with cheesecake and carrot cake. They were both good but I recommended the carrot cake. To summarize: make reservations, dress nicely if you want to, and be prepared to spend $200-300 for a dinner per couple but its well worth it!
